  Chapter Three: Can’t stop now

A week later after things died down about the prostitutes killing Dr. Moorehead washed the dried blood off of his trench coat, and left out of his castle just as the grandfather clock struck midnight once again on his carriage of death anticipating the excitement of the next kill.

Dr. Moorehead's blood was pumping through his veins like a fast train, and his pupils widened as he gazed upon a lady in waiting next to a dark building with no one in sight to disrupt the doctor's plans to carve her pretty body like a bloody steak on a plate being cut into with a sharp knife as the blood seeps out onto the plate.

He slowed his carriage and turned his cold body with death in his eyes and said "Why don't get into my carriage and we can ride back to my castle for a night of passion." The doctor dropped a hundred dollar bill on the ground in front of her on purpose knowing she wouldn't have a chance to spend it.

She picked up the bill and said "Sir, did you realize you just dropped a large bill on the ground?"

"Well I guess it's yours, as the saying goes Finders keepers, Losers weepers. Well, why don't you get in, there's plenty more where that came from."

She got in the carriage with excitement thinking she was going to get rich quick.

All she would be getting out of this is dead. Shortly into their ride to the castle the doctor made the woman think he was having trouble controlling the carriage so he slowed the carriage to a complete stop, and got down from the driver’s seat, and was looking the carriage over and the woman said as she peeked her head out of the carriage door, "Is everything ok, Sir?"

The doctor replied, "I think everything will be alright, but the fog is pretty heavy so if you don't mind we could talk for a bit until the fog lifts," as he tipped his hat to her.

"That's alright with me," as she was blushing.

The doctor stepped inside and sat next to her and put on his charm. Then the two kissed, and the doctor reached in his coat pocket pulling out his shiny razor sharp scalpel, and proceeded to slit her throat from ear to ear. The woman gasped for air as she gurgled in her own blood. Then a small tear ran down her cheek then silence.

The doctor said, "She sure does have beautiful blue eyes that are as blue as the ocean. I hate to let them go to waste."

The doctor carefully cut her eyes out of there sockets, and carefully wrapped them in a handkerchief, and put them in a small black box. Then he dipped his right index finger on her bloody neck and drew his initials the exact same way that he did on the first prostitute. He pulled her blood soaked body out of the carriage of death and placed her cold body on the ground to be easily found by morning.

The doctor licked the blood off his fingers, and strutted back to his carriage of death, and let out an eerie laugh as his carriage disappeared into the dark foggy night to his castle to celebrate with a bottle of red wine standing next to his fireplace, and open the black box with the most beautiful eyes any man would have the pleasure to gaze upon. The doctor was very proud of his new trophy to display in his hidden room behind the fireplace alongside of the glass jars full of organs from his first kill.

The doctor would go on to kill another seven ladies of the night before disappearing into the night with his carriage of death.

None of the crimes were ever solved, and when a neighbor came to check on the doctor at his castle, and found the door wide open, and dark as death inside, the constable and his men searched the castle from top to bottom even the hidden room only to be leaving them scratching their heads as to what happened to the doctor.

As decades passed, and still no trace of the doctor's whereabouts, and nine unsolved murders of the prostitutes of Brickport the case will just get buried in the cold case files forever unless some curious investigator decides to blow off the dust on the file, and reopen the case.

Legend has it on a foggy night after midnight screams and the sound of carriage wheels followed by an eerie laugh can be heard. So if you find yourself walking the streets of Brickport on a foggy night all alone after midnight you might just find yourself running for your life from Dr. Moorehead's carriage of death, and face his sharp cold scalpel across your neck. If I were you, I would just sleep through the night, and leave the legend be.
