By the end of the match day, Raghunath noticed a curious exchange between the coach and the umpire. Raghunath didn’t know if it was his imagination or if he really saw his coach wink at the umpire. The local newspapers carried stories of him being a cheat and a chucker. In the next match, another upcoming fast bowler, Vikram Rao (name changed), the son of a local MP, played in place of him.
Raghunath’s chances of ever making it as a cricketer became less and less and his performances started slackening. Whenever he got a chance, he was confused about how he should bowl. Should be bowl at his best speed or try to better it? He ended up giving away too many runs and a period of inconsistency started with his confidence hitting a new low. Slowly, he was overlooked in state cricket and fell off the radar of the selectors. Raghunath learnt that Vikram, too, hadn’t gone too far in his career and had enrolled in a college in London instead. Disillusioned, Raghunath quit playing cricket, the biggest dream of his life, just at the age of 18.
I told the tired and defeated Raghunath that all was not lost in his life. He was never destined to be a cricketer in the first place. It could remain a passion, but it was not meant to be his calling. His Neptune was only a mirage. It was there, yet not there. It was a result of his past-life karmas. He was supposed to undergo this huge disappointment in his life, which would rankle him forever. The incident was meant to happen. An incident which had come with a lot of lessons.
His real success would come from the fourth and the ninth houses. The fourth house indicates food, land, properties, etc. and the ninth house is about being a subject matter expert, a consultant, coach, guru and also indicates education. Post our meeting, Raghunath successfully set up a restaurant business and also doubled up as an education consultant.
He is now in alignment with his karma and knows what he was destined to be. In fact, now he feels that education is another field where his passion lies and he also finds food a fascinating business. He even takes out time to keep himself healthy, playing cricket with his business partners during weekends, and also mentors some street kids in fast bowling. He no longer feels sad that he couldn’t be a cricketer who played for India. He has accepted that he will never be another Kapil Dev. But he is trying to be the best at what he can be—being Raghunath for his family. And, most importantly, for himself.
What started out of curiosity as an interesting way to kill time turned out to be a passion of a lifetime for me. The original intention to discover my calling has materialised and now it is all about deciphering, decoding and translating the mysteries of a particular planetary alignment, be it for a person, an event or for an organisation.
The planets and stars that twinkle in the sky have all the mysteries of life within them. They show us how exactly our lives will unfold. The planetary alignments at the time of our birth indicate the past life karmas and hence the current life learnings and possibilities. What is intriguing is that everything can be predicted, after a lot of effort and research. Anything and everything! Because of just one reason. As above, so below.
Acknowledgements
The websites astrodatabank.com and astrotheme.com were very important sources where I found the most accurate birth details of sports persons, which helped a lot in my research.
A big thank you to all Indian cricketers and their parents, who offered me the accurate birth details when I approached them. It helped me predict many events like India’s winning the World Cup, the IPLs, etc.
Thank you, Derek, Rutvick Mehta, Tauz Rizvi and the team at DNA, for connecting me with many sports stars or helping me collect and collate their birth details, including those of Sachin Tendulkar, through various sources.
Thank you very much, Divya Dubey, for helping me with the initial editing of the manuscript, and going beyond the ambit of your job to make the entire process simpler for me. The questions you posed helped me shape the book to its current form. Your inputs at every juncture helped me gain a better understanding of the reader’s perspective. Thank you, also, for introducing me to Dipankar Mukherjee.
Thank you, Indrani Ganguly, for the quick and neat final edits. Thank you, Sourish Mitra, for the thoughtful cover.
Lastly, but most importantly, thank you, Dipankar Mukherjee, for your guts and for putting your trust in an ‘unknown quantity’. Many publishers refused to take up the book for the fear of the predictions failing and the backlash they might have to face. The final draft took a beautiful and interesting turn because of your timely intervention and valuable suggestions. Special thanks to you!

About the Author
Greenstone Lobo read his own birth chart at the age of 16 and has been fascinated by this science ever since. At the time of his graduation in Chemistry, his notebooks were filled with more horoscopes than chemical formulae. Now, as a Human Resources professional, he has also researched, tested and practised the principles of astrology in the corporate environment for over 22 years.
After extensive research on the Indian and Western astrology systems, both of which he found incomplete, Greenstone delved deeper into astronomy as well as astrology. He has the distinction of being the only astrologer on the planet to have discovered the relevance and influence of planetoids X (NASA: 2007 RH283), Y (NASA: 1999 JV127) and Z (NASA: 2008 FC76) upon human destiny. Based on it, he has devised his own system for reading birth charts and making predictions, which has produced excellent results so far. Amongst several other predictions, Greenstone correctly prophesied in 2011, against popular belief, that India would win the ICC World Cup; and in 2015, he proclaimed Australia as the winner.
Greenstone conducts regular workshops for aspiring astrologers in different parts of India. He is the author of the book, What is Your True Zodiac Sign? (Celestial Books). He has been writing a regular column on sports astrology, ‘Octozone’, in the popular Indian daily, DNA, since 2008. He has also been a columnist for Anandabazar Patrika and Sportskeeda.com. His opinions, advisory columns, predictions and articles have been published in the Times of India, Mumbai Mirror, The Telegraph, Life Positive and Sangbad Pratidin. Besides this he has appeared on RadioCity, Radio One, Radio Mirchi and KCOR (USA).
