Becoming D'Vaire (D'Vaire, Book 11) Page 12

by Jessamyn Kingley

His blood heated, and his dick decided it was time to party, but the D’Vaires were waiting. Pulling away, he lifted his lashes which had fallen closed as he kissed his mate for the first time and gazed back into the abyss.

“I haven’t tasted your blood yet, but your magic already has me addicted.”

“I didn’t know it would feel like that.”

“Tell me what it felt like,” Grigori begged.

  “It’s going to sound stupid.”

  “That’s just not possible.”

“Forever. Kissing you felt like forever.”

Grigori’s smile bloomed. “What did your dick think?”

“That it’s still a bad idea for us to be alone together right now.”

Bending a little to account for their six-inch height difference, Grigori gave his cheek a quick peck. Then he opened the door and grabbed Delaney’s hand as they stepped out into the hall. Since it was devoid of people, he said, “I’m already thinking about the other things I want to do with my mouth and the rest of you.”

  “I’m making a list myself.”

“How is it ordered? As you think of it or by level of desire?” Grigori asked as they walked.

  Delaney smirked. “It’s alphabetical.”

“I appreciate the extra mile. Now tell me, where the hell am I leading us?”

“We’re just going down the hall toward the living room. I hope you’re okay with being bombarded by questions from a million different people—they’re all going to be in there.”

“There are only thirty-five D’Vaires—that’s including you and the two visiting former warlocks—plus the dragon familiars who can’t speak.”

“I like that you know that off the top of your head. Did I thank you for being willing to consider living here?”

They reached the end of the hallway and were about to walk into a large living area packed with D’Vaires, but Grigori needed a moment with Delaney first. “I will live here. By your side. In our room. Together. Best friends as well as lovers.”

“Don’t forget I’ll be your blood slave.”

“It sounds sexy when you call it that.”

“Get in there so I can introduce you to everybody,” Delaney demanded.

Grigori winked at him, then stepped into chaos. He shook hands with the man who ruled D’Vaire and was happy he’d memorized names before he arrived, because it was a blur of friendly faces. Even Duff was grinning, but Grigori didn’t find it a very trusting look. All the while he kept Delaney at his side with their hands locked. He wanted everyone to see them from the start as a couple, especially the wizard who didn’t realize yet that he held Grigori’s heart.

“It’s such an absolute pleasure to meet you,” Grigori said to T’Eirick and Saura. That was the moment he discovered he’d gotten through meeting everyone without a drop of sweat. His instincts told him it was because Delaney was close and inviting and because of the relaxed atmosphere of D’Vaire.

“We’ve heard so much about you, Grigori,” Saura told him. “Del’s been wreathed in smiles for days.”

“Except for when I stupidly missed our first date.”

“Oh, please. You don’t think we all haven’t done foolish things after we met our mates? Seriously, T’Eirick once asked me if I used magic to cover the blotches on my skin. He wanted to know what I looked like without any enhancements, and the fool still thinks it was a compliment,” Saura complained.

“As I’ve explained for thousands of years, I didn’t realize anyone could be that beautiful without a little help,” T’Eirick countered.

“I hope you don’t think I’m being too forward, but I did mention to my parents that you were visiting D’Vaire. I’d like to ask if you’d consider allowing them to come here and meet you.”

Saura reached out and gave his arm a friendly squeeze. “Grigori, you’re family now. So are all your relatives. Del tells us your butler and his mate are considered Volkovs as well. All of you are welcome at D’Vaire whenever you want. I would adore getting the chance to meet the Vampyress and her consort. Right, Aleksander?”

“Absolutely, and they’re welcome to stay as long as they’d like. We have more than one permanent guest room in this place,” the D’Vaire king responded. Grigori was pleased to find them just as Delaney described—warm, friendly, and open-hearted.

“Good, because honestly, you might not ever get my mother to go home. She’s been so annoyed with Nikolai since he insisted she wait to come to D’Vaire until they could get their schedules free at the same time. On the car ride home the night I met Delaney, she made him apologize for keeping me from my mate,” Grigori said.

“You don’t call him Del?” Duff asked.

“He didn’t mention it was his nickname,” Grigori replied, although he didn’t think it was Duff’s business what he called Delaney.

Delaney stroked his thumb over the back of his hand, so Grigori turned to his amused face. “I forgot to mention it.”

Grigori grinned. Delaney failed to mention it because Grigori already gave him his own pet name. He was ridiculously thrilled that they had their first inside joke. “No worries, Delsaurus,” he responded with a wink.

“So Grigori, how often do you go to vampire clubs?” Duff asked.

“It’s been awhile, actually. Over a year.”

“You should take all of us,” Duff said.

“I’d be happy to at some point, but right now I’m focused on making my relationship with Delsaurus work. We’re getting to know one another, and it’s difficult to do that with a lot of people around. When we’re ready to give up our time together to include a large group, we can plan something,” Grigori explained. “Right, Delsaurus?”

  “Exactly.”

Duff’s response was to give him an aggrieved expression; then he strode across the room.

“You guys should go to the restaurant Mac took me to on our first date,” Idris suggested once Duff was gone. He got Grigori’s immediate attention. Getting to know and befriending Idris was a top priority for Grigori because the wizard was important to Delaney.

“I’d love it if the four of us could go together,” Grigori responded.

“We could certainly do a double-date, right sweetheart?” Mac answered.

“If it’s okay with Del,” Idris said.

“They make awesome burgers, and I’d like Grigori to know you guys.”

“Look at us, Delsaurus. We’re already making plans as a couple.”

Delaney bumped his arm with his shoulder playfully. “I guess it’s now my responsibility to make sure you actually show up.”

“Fate did stick you with me.”

“Believe it or not, I have no complaints.”

“Of course you don’t. We’re perfect together.”

  “You, me, and Greggory.”

Mac chuckled. “I found it more difficult to get used to being a dragon perch than I did building a matebond.”

“I’m afraid if I tip too far forward, he’ll topple right to the floor, and then I’ll be a jackass for not being able to care for my mate’s dragon.”

“Roger’s got an amazing ability to adjust himself on the fly. I haven’t lost him to the floorboards yet.”

“Mac, you have no idea what a relief that is to know. I’ve already missed a date. I can’t handle another bad mark against me.”

“You’ve earned more good ones along the way,” Delaney said, making Grigori’s heart soar. “The odds are definitely not against you.”

Out of nowhere, Dra’Kaedan’s familiar, Renny, showed up next to where the four men were standing. From his height of just barely over five feet, he stared up at them with his arms folded over his chest for a few awkward minutes. Breaking the tension, Renny grinned and reached up to shake Delaney. “You look so good together I can’t stand it!” he exclaimed, then released Delaney and jogged away.

“So Grigori, did Del mention everyone here is insane?” Mac asked.

“I’m going to live here a
nyway,” Grigori responded. His statement caused Idris to smile brightly.

“You talked about it,” he said to Delaney. His indigo gaze swung toward Grigori. “He was so nervous you’d think it was too soon to talk about it. He trusts you a lot to tell you he was worrying over the living arrangements.”

“I’m looking forward to being a Volkov-D’Vaire,” Grigori told him, and he meant every word.

  Chapter 15

Delaney laughed when he glanced over to find Grigori with his head buried under not only a blanket but several pillows. At Idris’s suggestion, the couple retreated to Delaney’s bedroom to watch a movie. His crafty friend was giving them the perfect opportunity to be alone, and Delaney jumped at the idea. Not only did he want time with Grigori, he wasn’t against expanding his horizons either.

“You didn’t have to stop it,” Grigori said. His voice was muffled by all the things he was burrowed under.

“I guess you aren’t into horror movies,” Delaney responded as he tossed the remote to the side after he turned the television off. If Grigori was not into his favorite genre, then he had a great idea for something they were both on board for, and the only visual he needed was a certain naked vampire.

“There was so much blood,” Grigori complained as he poked his head out of his pile.

  “Okay, seriously? You’re a vampire.”

“Which, if you’ll think about it, is why those movies are insulting. Imagine wasting all that blood by spraying it all over the walls.”

  “You’re cute.”

Grigori scooted a little closer. “What should we do now?”

  “I did have one idea.”

Yanking off the blanket, Grigori moved so their bodies were less than an inch apart. He rested on hand on Delaney’s hip. “I had one too.”

Feeling brazen, Delaney pressed his lips against Grigori’s and whispered, “I bet we’re on the same page.”

“Damn right, Delsaurus Sex. Get over here,” Grigori growled, then took his mouth in a deep kiss. Delaney responded just as he did the first time, and his entire being longed for nothing but the man tugging him close.

Delaney’s tongue slid along Grigori’s as he came to life. His nerve endings sang as desire skimmed over them. All he could think was that they were still clothed and not close to the main event, so how did Grigori already draw so much from him? Deciding he didn’t really care, Delaney wriggled to get a little friction on his cock as it hardened. He managed to get his hands between them and undid the buttons of Grigori’s shirt with trembling fingers.

Grigori twisted the fabric of Delaney’s T-shirt in his fist and he marveled at his ability to affect him. The vampire’s dick was as rigid as his own, Delaney discovered as he bumped his knuckles against it. Grigori moaned, and Delaney would’ve smiled if he was not currently being devoured by his horny mate.

Grigori broke their kiss. “Do you need this?” he asked softly with a tug of the cotton top Delaney was wearing.

  “It can go.”

“Thank Fate,” Grigori murmured as he helped Delaney out of it.

Smoothing a hand over Delaney’s chest, Grigori’s eyes met his. The pale blue orbs were full of desire, and Delaney was awed that it was all for him. “I wanted to touch you last night when I first saw your chest,” Grigori confessed as he moved his palm downward. Delaney was compelled to roll slightly so that his back was against the mattress. The vampire shuffled to press them intimately close again. “I love the way you’re built.”

Delaney’s gaze was riveted to Grigori’s gaping button-down and he traced his fingers over the pale flesh he uncovered. To his disappointment, Grigori sat up. When he shrugged the garment off, delight bubbled through Delaney. Once it hit the floor, Grigori lowered himself down and reunited their mouths. Delaney managed to get one hand around to grip the slick skin of his back and the other he wrapped around Grigori’s strong arm.

Their kiss was ravenous and hungry, and Delaney was panting like a dog. He couldn’t give a shit less as his legs spread of their own accord. His jeans were excessively confining, but he was too busy to bother getting them off. He didn’t want to let go of Grigori, and he certainly wasn’t going to—even if the world crashed down around them. Grigori shifted slightly, and Delaney hoped to hell he wasn’t planning on stopping.

Instead of putting an end to what Delaney would now always be addicted to, Grigori pressed his fingers to his side. Delaney managed to release his grip on his biceps so he could give the vampire some leeway in touching him. He clutched the bedding beneath them, and Grigori took advantage of his new freedom.

His palm once again slid over Delaney’s chest and down to the quivering muscles of his belly. Delaney made some sort of crazy noise in his throat, but he was beyond caring. He poured all his energy into tasting every recess of Grigori’s delicious mouth when the vampire reached down and palmed Delaney’s dick through his jeans. It was an incredibly heady feeling and at the same time nowhere near enough for his aching sex.

All his life he’d waited to be swept away by the man Fate chose for him, and Delaney was not going to remain idle. He tore his lips free and, as fast as he could, untangled himself from both Grigori and the coverlet. He pushed his head back into the pillow beneath it and lifted his hips. With a nimbleness he didn’t know he possessed, Delaney got his jeans undone and pushed them, along with his underwear, down. The cool air of the room teased his sensitive cock.

“Let me help you,” Grigori whispered as he took over the task of removing Delaney of the last vestiges of his clothing. Delaney murmured something he hoped Grigori understood as he lay there and enjoyed the brush of the vampire’s fingers against his heated skin.

When Delaney was finally naked, Grigori crawled back up to near his waist. Opening his eyes, Delaney glanced at him to figure out if he was going to kiss him, but Grigori wasn’t moving. His gaze was fixated on Delaney’s dick, which was lying flat against his belly.

  “This is a beautiful cock.”

“You could touch it if you wanted,” Delaney rushed out. Oh, please want to touch it.

“I was considering it. You know, wrapping this fat fucker in my fist and jerking you off. But then…”

“I’d like that. You could do that.”

Grigori finally met his eyes. “Oh, I’m sure you’d like it, but I’m not sure I’d be satisfied.”

“Well, yeah, sure. You’ve still got your jeans on and stuff. I’ll touch you. I can’t wait to see your dick. I already know I want to touch the fuck out of it.”

“I’m glad to hear it, but you know I can’t concentrate on this gorgeous…and oh, leaking very nicely, cock of yours if you’ve got your hand wrapped around mine. That won’t do at all.”

“Then fucking suffer, because I need to come. I’ll do it myself,” Delaney snarled. He made a move to grab himself to get some relief, but Grigori knocked his hand away.

“Nope, I’m your mate. You should want to make me happy. You know what would make me happy right now?” Grigori asked silkily.

“I’m not sure I care right now,” Delaney answered crossly. The vampire was torturing him, and he wasn’t feeling very friendly.

Grigori took one finger and traced it down Delaney’s length, which made him hiss out a breath. “I want you to spread your legs nice and wide, so I can suck this fucker dry. I want to taste your come, then kiss you so you can taste yourself.” Their eyes met again. “What do you think of that idea?”

Delaney didn’t need to think about it; he bent his knees and gave Grigori all the space he needed. The amazing vampire Fate gave him dutifully crawled between his knees. While he wanted to get some relief as soon as possible, his eyes followed with rapt attention as Grigori unsnapped his jeans and lowered his zipper. He wiggled out of his clothing to reveal the same angry red cock Delaney was suffering from.

“You look even better naked than I imagined,” he offered Grigori.

“If you come really hard for me, I’ll let you touch him,” Grigori tea
sed as he lowered himself over Delaney’s crotch. The sight of the gorgeous man getting in position to give him a blowjob was almost enough to make him embarrass himself before the main event.

“Okay,” he murmured, not even sure of what Grigori said any longer.

“Mmmm, I bet dark wizards are very tasty,” Grigori purred as he grasped Delaney’s dick with long fingers and lowered his mouth to it. His words were playful, but he was not. Delaney’s cock was engulfed in warm, wet suction that disabled his ability to think. Of its own accord his arm raised, and he grabbed a loose handful of Grigori’s silken mane.

It did nothing to dissuade the vampire, who bobbed his head over Delaney’s lap. His tongue danced over nerve endings Delaney wasn’t aware he had as his balls tightened. His brain wanted this amazing experience to last forever, and his body was ready to explode. Inside of Delaney, a war waged while the suction around him increased in both speed and ferocity. His palm skidded over the bunched-up coverlet, and he managed to clutch it tightly as he fought the urge to thrust upward. Something must have clued Grigori into his dilemma, because he grabbed both of his hips and held him firmly in place.

Delaney’s spine arched slightly, and he thrashed his head from side to side as Grigori swept his lips up and down his length. When he pulled him to the back of his throat and swallowed around the tip of his cock, Delaney lost the fight. He called out Grigori’s name as sparks ignited and his release tore through him. Every muscle locked as he emptied his load and his vampire continued to suckle.

His orgasm seemed to last forever as he slowly floated to earth. When he could finally register thought again, he was lying with his limbs fully akimbo and his dick still in Grigori’s mouth.

“Your turn, but don’t laugh if I’m not good. I’ll need practice, okay?” Delaney asked huskily as he was still working on getting breath into his lungs.

Grigori didn’t say a word; he crawled up over Delaney and kissed him hungrily. He grabbed Delaney’s wrist and dragged it downward. Catching on quickly, Delaney enjoyed the taste of his essence combined with the exquisite flavor of his mate as he swiped his palm over the head of Grigori’s cock.
