Johnny was only seconds behind as he thrust into me again and again, exacerbating the waves of pleasure which pulsed between my legs. He plunged into me one last time, letting out a choked moan, which he buried in my neck. The heat of his breath sent shivers down my body.

Lacking any energy, we collapsed onto the sand, into each other’s arms. My head was swimming in euphoria.

Mustering enough drive to get up, I stumbled onto my legs, which were shaky with orgasm. Johnny grabbed my wrist.

  “Escaping so soon?”

I laughed. Pulling away, I backed into the water, allowing the refreshing water to cool my skin. “Just cooling off.” As I waded in the water, I looked at him, sitting naked on the sand like he was in a Gucci advertisement. “Mr. Shadow, I do feel like you’re smitten with me.”

I waded towards where the waterfall was, feeling the mist as it speckled my exposed skin.

He smirked at me, amused by my ramblings. “Well, Ms. Hawk. Trustworthy partners are hard to find. I’m not letting you go so easily.”

I watched his naked body slip into the water as he met me by the waterfall. He let the water run through his hair, which had been sticking out in all directions. After smoothing his hair back, he put his arms around me and kissed me in the moonlight. His muscular legs tangled with mine. When he pulled back it was dark.

We both looked up to investigate, noting the dark, angry clouds obstructing the moon. Without warning, the sky opened up, pouring pools of water down on us.

  We both started laughing.

“Come on.” Johnny swam for the shore and I followed. It was a silly thing, to get out of the water because there was too much water. We both put on our soaking wet clothes and I grabbed the bag of jewels, securing it around my wrist. Johnny led me towards a nearby tree where the white horse, Spirit, was tied up. “This is where I was before I heard you screaming for help earlier,” he said, in response to my puzzled gaze.

“You were just hanging out in the jungle with your horse?”

  He shrugged. “Sure, why not?”

I laughed. He helped me up onto the horse before getting on himself. As he sat in front of me, I had a full view of his gorgeous body. I wrapped my arms around his waist and lay my head against his back, listening to his steady breath.

The horse galloped as we made our way back to the hotel. Spirit’s strong body flexed as it ran, reminding me of my days riding as a girl. Johnny’s body also flexed and moved against mine as we rode. The sensitivity and excitement in my body from our romantic escapade was still burning hot throughout me, even on the ride home.

As we reached the hotel, we led Spirit towards the stables.

“Here.” I turned on a gas lamp which warmed the inside of the stable. Madison held her hands out to the warmth. I sat down and pulled her down in front of me, letting her body rest against mine. She let out a soft moan as she nuzzled against my body and my heat.

“So this is part of the adventure, is it? Sleeping in the stable overnight?” She asked.

“It wouldn’t be real if we didn’t.”

“Maybe next time you can see where I sleep.”

I chuckled. “I’d like that.” I touched her hand, tracing her fingers and knuckles with mine. “Thank you, by the way.”

  “For what?”

  “For indulging me.”

She giggled. “I think that was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.”

  I smiled. “Me too.”

“You’re weird, but I like it.”

I let out a chuckle. “You’re not so normal yourself.”

She gave me a big smile. “I never said I was.”

I held her in my arms, happy to have someone who finally seemed to understand me. Her gentle fingers grazed my arm, reminding me of her fluidity and sensuality. She was everything I wanted. And I wanted her.

“It was fun,” she added, “like living out a dream. I liked being the good guy.”

“A good guy? Mike Shadow is the good guy. You were the bad guy, you stole the jewels!”

She looked at me in surprise. “I’m the bad guy? You’re the bad guy! You stole the jewels!”

I laughed as I hugged her tighter. “Is this our first fight as a couple?”

“As…as a couple?” The word took her by surprise. She turned and looked into my eyes. She smiled. “I guess so.” The fire from the gas lamp lit her soft face with a warm glow. God, she was beautiful. I had to remember to send Britt, the host of Blind Date, a thank you card along with a bottle of wine. I smiled as I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

“I think we make a pretty good one.”

She smiled as she nestled closer against my body. “Me too, Johnny.” She closed her eyes and her breathing became heavy.

That last word hung in the air: Johnny. For once, it was nice hearing my name. For once, I wanted to hear it. Wrapping my arms tighter around her, I listened to the rhythm of her breathing and the sound of the rain outside before drifting to sleep.

  Pure Fate

  (Blind Date Book #3)

Running into the restaurant, I scanned the area and saw a man sitting at the bar. Out of breath from the muggy, humid Bora Bora air, I ran towards him.

“Excuse me,” I managed to say despite my lack of breath. “You need to help me.”

The man looked up at me from under his brow. He had dark dangerous eyes and a scruffy beard. His long fingers played with the bottom rim of his glass. I could smell the rum.

“Why should I help you?” His gruff voice asked.

“Please, someone is chasing me and if I don’t hide I’ll be in real trouble.” I looked back in despair. I grabbed the man’s arm. “Please.”

“How do you know I won’t be trouble for you either?” The man’s devious eyes shone in the candle light.

I finally stopped to look the man up and down. He was quite the package. His toned muscles bulged under his tight black shirt. His jeans fit snug. I looked back up into his dark eyes. “I think I can handle you.” I smirked.

He raised an eyebrow. “Is that so?” It was his turn to look me over. “Tell me, why should I help you?”

First turning to look over my shoulder, I looked back to him.

“I’ll do anything.” I looked him in his dark eyes. “Anything.”

A smile played on his lips. “Anything?” There was suggestion in his tone.

  I hesitated, biting my lip.

“Look, if you don’t want my help…”

“No, no, please. Anything you want, I promise.”

He held my gaze for a long moment. He smirked.

“Good. Come with me.” Leaving his rum behind, he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the restaurant. We rushed away, but not too fast that we’d arouse suspicion. He pulled me through the hallways to his room. He pulled the key out from his pocket.

  “Hurry,” I urged.

He didn’t hurry. Instead he took his time causing me to shift from foot to foot in suspense. Finally the door unlocked and he pushed it in, pulling me inside. Once inside, he closed the door and I pushed my back up against it, making sure it was closed. I let out an exhale of relief.

“You’ll be safe in here,” he said, putting the key on the desk. “Who’s chasing you anyway?”

I looked up at the handsome stranger.

“I’m not the one being chased,” I said. A smirk crossed my lips.

He narrowed his eyes and rushed up to me. Grabbing my wrists he pinned them above my head against the door. “Who are you?” He stared into my eyes where he found his answer. His eyes grew wide. “You!”

I let out an evil-spirited laugh.

“Elektra. You’re the mole.” His hands eased their grip.

“Yes,” I admitted. “Sent to gather information on you, but that’s only because…” I pulled one wrist away from his grip and put my hand up to his cheek, touching his beard. Pinching just below his ear, I pulled the beard off. “You’re a spy too!”

  He winced
and touched the area on his cheek where the fake beard was moments ago.

  “James Pierce,” I said.

He stood up tall. Without his beard he looked younger, hotter. He leaned in closer to me. His dark brown eyes looked deep into mine. The scent of bay rum coupled with notes of clove and cinnamon lingered between us, giving me a light-headed, euphoric feeling. Yum. If he weren’t my enemy, I’d eat him up.

“Ms. Elektra,” he said. “It’s nice to finally meet you.” His lips were inches from mine.

I smirked. “Sometimes I take pity on inferior spies. It’s unfortunate when the target is so easily confused.”

He let out a slight laugh. “You don’t know who you’re talking to, Elektra.” He grabbed my wrist again and pinned them to the door. Slowly, he moved his hands down my wrists, touching down the length of my arms.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“You said you’d do anything if I kept you safe.” His seductive voice rumbled deep in my belly.

I laughed. “It’s you who needs to be kept safe from me. I’m the dangerous one here.”

He smirked. “If you insist. But you asked me to keep you safe and I’m taking that as an admission of vulnerability. No spy can work alone. Even a spy needs a spy.”

I gulped. I wanted him to think I was nervous. Though still new to this acting and role-playing stuff, I was getting more comfortable with it, and I was actually having fun.

I originally got into film to be a part of the magic and get absorbed into fictional worlds, but acting it out with the man of my dreams was a million times more fun. I now understood why Johnny did this.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“I want to touch you.” He looked deep into my eyes. A shiver rolled through my body, prickling the tiny hairs on my arms.

  “Then what?”

A slight smirk appeared on his sinful lips. “Do you not trust me? A spy is supposed to trust a fellow spy.”

I let out a laugh. “Only a spy would be a fool to trust another spy.”

“Are you calling me a fool?”

I swallowed again. Holding my chin up, I spoke. “If you want to touch me, then touch me.”

Keeping both my wrists pinned above my head in one of his massive hands, he lifted his free hand and placed his fingers under my ear, gently stroking me along my jaw line. His tender touch sent a thrill through my nerves.

His perfect, pouted lips were inches away begging me to kiss them. And I wanted to, badly, but it wasn’t a part of my character. I had to resist him — a task that was proving to be more difficult in practice than in theory.

“If this is what you want to do,” I said, “then I’m giving you three conditions.”

He raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Conditions?” He smirked. “Alright, tell them to me.” He was bold and demanding, stirring something deep and delicious inside me.

“First, you must never tell anyone about this.”

Raising his hand and touching his heart, he nodded. “Spy’s honor.”

“Second, you must not fall in love with me.”

  He smirked. “And the third?”

“If you’re going to touch me, you better make it worthwhile.” I smirked. He wasn’t the only one who could be bold and demanding.

A devious smile played on his lips. He nodded. “I can do that.”

Tilting his head, he leaned in and kissed me on the lips slowly, and tastefully. It was slow enough that I could feel him. I tasted the rum and spices on his lips. Heat seared down through my body. Pulling his lips from mine, he kissed down my jaw line, down my neck. His kisses were soft like the touch of a butterfly’s wings.

His strong hands let go of my wrists and moved down my waist and hips, grabbing my thighs as he pinned me against the door. With his leg between mine, he pushed and spread my legs apart. His fingers played with the fabric of my dress as he lifted it up off my thighs. Pulling his lips from mine, he smirked at me one last time before dipping down low between my legs, causing me to whimper as I scratched at the door.

I pushed my head back up against the wall. I wanted him. I wanted him now, all to myself.

His lips kissed my thighs moving up closer and closer to the area between my legs, throbbing for attention. His lips moved over the fabric of my underwear as he breathed hot against me. The blissful sensation caused me to shift my thighs against one another, but he kept my legs spread apart. His teeth nibbled at my panties, pulling them down my legs, leaving me exposed to the humid Bora Bora air.

Well, I thought. I told him to make it worthwhile, and that was exactly what he was doing. I lost myself in his lips and his touch. I lost myself in the character as I called him by his spy name. He handled me with more roughness than usual, pushing my legs apart and grabbing hard onto my thighs and ass cheeks.

As he moved enthusiastically between my legs, as I dropped my head back against the door and choked back pleasured moans, I wondered if this was something we could do forever.

The summer had gone by in the blink of an eye and before I knew it I was back in Los Angeles. I had already chosen my fall semester timetable and I was ready for life without Mike Shadow, James Pierce, and all the other characters I got to play with. The one person I wasn’t ready to live life without was Johnny Logan. Compared to the humid rain-forest of Bora Bora, LA was a dry and dusty, and my bedroom was no different.

It was a strange thing to be back. I was a completely different person compared to the person I was at the beginning of last semester. Not only did I experience my first real job in the industry by working on a real Hollywood film set, but I also lost my virginity to mega movie star Johnny Logan. If anything could make me mature in just a few short months, it was those two things.

I was a different woman now. I was experienced and changed. But being away from Johnny was strange. When I was with him, I lost myself. We created new characters and became them together. I was Madison the intern just as much as I was Selena Hawk the jewel thief or Elektra the secret spy.

It was all fun and games, but now that I was back I had a hard time remembering who I was before all this began. I also found it hard understanding who I was now. I wondered if, as people lost their accents over time, someone could lose their personality or their self.

A car horn sounded outside. I grabbed my purse and ran out. Whitney’s beat up old van sat on the curb blowing puffs of exhaust up into the sky.

“Ready?” She yelled out from the driver’s seat through the passenger’s window.

I ran up to van and got in. Whitney’s blue eyes widened as she looked at me.

  “Tell me everything.”

Sitting in first class on a jet to Hong Kong, I looked over the script for the new spy movie I was starring in. I barely had three days off between the Mike Shadow film and the new James Pierce movie.

I was surprised that after all these years of filming, I still couldn’t move from one character to the other with ease. It should have been easy. That’s what acting was after all, pretending. Why couldn’t it come easy to me like it did for others? I couldn’t help but be awed by my co-stars who could turn their characters on and off like a light switch. Why couldn’t I do that? Instead I had to immerse myself, to become the character. It was time invasive and draining. I knew I couldn’t do it forever, but I didn’t know what else to do.

It was always tough letting go of an old character, but it was necessary. If I wanted to keep the role, I had to commit.

As I read through the script I noticed the difference between Mike Shadow and James Pierce. Pierce was deceptive, and was willing to lie and cheat to get the information he needed. Though Mike Shadow often committed theft, he often did it as a form of vigilantism. Mike Shadow was a good guy through and through. James Pierce was deceptive and a little bit evil.

Flipping through each scene, I couldn’t help but wonder what the differences between Shadow, Pierce, and myself, Johnny Logan, were. I never thought about it before, but something Madison sai
d made me think. Hearing my name on her lips made me want to show her the real Johnny, but I wasn’t even sure who that was anymore.

Pulling out my phone, I took a selfie. I looked well-rested and happy, happier than I had been in a while. I picked a filter and posted the photo onto my many social media accounts. Within seconds it had over five hundred likes.

Was that who I was? I wondered. Just a product, a form of entertainment? None of the people liking my photos knew who I really was, just as I didn’t know who I really was.

I sighed, wishing that Madison was with me. She was the only one who made me feel normal. As much as I tried to get her a position on the set of the James Pierce movie, I had no pull. I wasn’t a producer on this movie like I was with Shadow. Madison had to go back to school anyway, so she was in California while I was on a flight halfway around the world, editing my lines.

Madison must have been something special because I couldn’t keep my mind off her long enough to get through one page. I picked up my phone again and called her number. After a few rings she picked up.

  “Johnny?”

It was good hearing my name. She didn’t say “Johnny Logan” preceded by “famed celebrity”, “multiple award-winning actor”, or “former child prodigy”. To her, I was just Johnny.

I smiled. “Madison. It’s good to hear your voice.”

“You too.” From her voice I could tell she was blushing. She still did that around me, and though she was clearly embarrassed when she did, I found it endearing. I could picture her doing it right now. “Where are you?” She asked.

“I’m still on the plane to Hong Kong. I’ve got about an hour before we land.”

“Are you ready for your new role?”

  “Somewhat, thanks to you.”

She let out a short laugh. I couldn’t help but smile. The memories we made were the best gift she could give me.
