“Silence!” he yelled to cut off their excuses. He was beyond disgusted. These were some of the biggest and most evil warriors he had to offer. They were literally the stuff human nightmares were made of.
If that was true, how could humans constantly defeat them?
“Away with you,” he snarled.
The demons slumped away, their heads lowered in humiliation.
The Head of Demons leaned back in his chair and wondered what he could possibly tell the King of Hell. The king was bound to notice something was wrong sooner or later.
Would he have to take matters into his own hands to restore the balance?
The Head of Demons didn’t like the prospect. It made him feel like a failure. After all, these lesser demons were his responsibility. He had fed them hate and watched them grow and had personally helped with their training. They were an extension of him, but they had failed. By no means could he let himself be seen as a failure.
With a sigh, he clenched his powerful jaws. His fangs cut into his bottom lip. He clutched the armrests of his throne with his scaly, talon-like fingers. His nails dug into the wood, leaving deep gouges. His red eyes sparked with fury.

Hey Guys,
Hayley here, thank you for reading the first book in the 13 Covens series. I’ve always enjoyed stories about witches, I grew up in a town in England called Lancaster, where we learned about the Pendle Witches, these were the most famous witches in England. Their trial for witchcraft was held at the castle in my town, (yes, we have a castle in our town they have turned it into a place for tea parties now).
When Michael talked with me about a magic series, I knew I would have a blast creating the world with him.
I enjoyed the world building for 13 Covens so much so I shared the world with my daughter, Callie, and she wanted to be involved with the world. We created the book series School of Magic to fill in those school years of magic which Jessica missed by going to mundane school. Callie and I are busy working on the rest of the books in that series. (Callie’s series School of Magic)
Michael and I got loads of ideas for other stories within this world, and we can’t wait to share them with you. (I better get my butt in gear!)
If you could one type of magic what would it be? I think I’d like to multiply myself, one-day job Hayley, another creating awesome book worlds and one hanging out with my family and friends.
Until I learn that spell, I’ll just be my normal Supermum self :D
