My Beta-Readers, you keep me from making a fool of myself before the literary gods with my constant homophone confusions and unfathomable addiction to dues ex machina. Thank you for always taking that last-minute look and for reading the same story ten times over every session I edit.
Stella Price, I owe you a lot for being my first writer friend, guiding me into the industry, inviting me to cons, and urging me to pitch the woman who became my agent.
Speaking of agents, Louise Fury, you’re in here, too. We’ve had a long, hard road as an author/agent duo, but we’re finally here! Thanks so much for sticking with me and believing in my work!
Liz Pelletier, you saw potential where so many editors did not. Nexis is a dynamic and challenging book, but you dove in with both feet and never looked back. Thank you for the opportunity to make my dreams come true.
My lovely publicity team and the other fantastic people who work at Entangled, you guys rock!
Finally, I would like to thank the friends and family who have stuck by me throughout my writing career. Being part of a creative person’s life isn’t always easy—we keep weird hours, we fall off the face of the earth for months, we obsess about projects and don’t shut up about them, we share ourselves with so many people that we often don’t have enough left for those who are closest to us, and we aren’t always present because our minds are literally someplace else. Our priorities aren’t always straight, and that makes loving us hard. I lost some people I never thought I would lose while on this path and it only makes those who have stood by me even more precious to me. Thank you all so much!
About the Author
A.L. Davroe grew up in Connecticut and, after traveling to many countries, many states, and many fantasy realms—sometimes even living in them—she has decided that Connecticut is a wonderful little state. She likes books, cats, chai tea lattes, and the word “chime.” By day, A.L. makes cheese for a local artisan dairy and, by night, A.L. writes in various subgenres of adult and YA fantasy, science fiction, horror, and romance, but most of her work tends to have a revisionist twist to it.
