I swim to the edge to catch my breath, and Blake is right there caging me in. “You put up a good fight.” We both laugh until I feel his hand on my pussy. I stare at him with wide eyes and he kisses me. “Looking at your wet, naked body is too much. I need to touch you.” Fuck, I’ve never had someone touch me in a pool like this. It is an incredible turn-on. “Wrap your arms around my neck. I’ll keep you up.” I do and he searches my eyes as he slowly pushes two fingers inside me.

“Holy shit.” My breasts are bobbing in and out of the water, making everything feel more sensual. He begins moving his fingers as he leans forward to suck on my neck. “Oh God, it feels so good.” I can’t help dropping my head back and closing my eyes. The way the water feels rushing against my pussy as he moves in and out with his fingers is unreal.

“Damn, I want to fuck you right now. I want to watch you come undone around me in this pool.” I’m so completely turned on right now, I’m not even thinking straight. I couldn’t care less if Jax and Kallie walked into the yard right now, I’d let Blake continue to fuck me with his fingers.

“Just do it.” He stops everything, causing me to stare at him. “What?”

“Baby, as much as I want my cock buried so deep in you right now that you’ll see stars, I have no condoms out here. I don’t think either of us are ready for a baby right now.” Fuck, thank God he’s thinking straight, because I definitely am not. I couldn’t give a damn right now. My only thought is coming. “Mark my words though, next time we’re naked in this pool, I will have a condom. I’ll make you come so hard the neighbors will peek over to see why you’re screaming.” I can’t even form words right now, but I can move my body. I thrust my hips forward onto his fingers to get him to start moving again. He doesn’t say anything else. He just starts to fingerfuck me again.

“Oh, Blake, I’ve never felt anything like this.” He claims my mouth, causing me to moan. I move one of my hands down and rub his cock. He moans right back in my mouth and it spurs me on. I really pick up my speed and he does too. I listen to the sounds of us moaning while the water splashes around us. I feel myself close to coming, and I pump his cock as fast as I can, hoping he will come with me. “I’m so close, oh fuck, Blake, I’m almost there.” He kisses a path up to my ear and nips the lobe.

“Let go, baby, I’m right there with you.” His words are just what I need, and I find my release, shouting out his name. True to his word, he was right there with me, and he growls my name out. He crashes his mouth to mine, while my body recovers. We lock eyes and he grins. “Fuck, London, you know how to give a good hand job.” I laugh and kiss his chest. “Come on, it’s getting late. Let’s dry off and I’ll make some burgers for dinner.” He hops out of the pool, wraps a towel around his waist, and meets me at the stairs, wrapping a towel around me. “See, no need to worry. No one saw anything.” We laugh and walk over to our clothes pile, just as the back door opens. I glance over and see Jax and Kallie. I’m so thankful I have this towel around me, but hell, our clothes are on the ground.

  “What were you two doing?”

I feel myself blush and Blake wraps his arms around me. “Well, if you’d gotten home five minutes earlier, you’d know.” I want to bury my face in my hands when they start laughing. “We are going to get dressed, and I’m going to make burgers for dinner if you guys haven’t eaten yet.” Jax says that sounds good, and I pick up my clothes, following Blake to the door. “Oh, by the way, you probably want to shock the pool before you get in there.” I close my eyes and feel the embarrassment wash over me. He shrugs his shoulders and smiles. “What? I’d be pissed if he didn’t warn me.”

After we dress and I finally feel like I can look at Jax and Kallie, the night is so much fun. The guys cook, and Kallie and I hang out talking. She tells me about all the new ideas she has for shoots, and I can’t wait for my next cover. They sound amazing. When dinner is done, we all sit around laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. They want to do the fire pit, but I check my phone and it is creeping up on eleven o’clock. As much fun as I’m having, I need to get home and prepare for work in the morning. I say my goodbyes to Jax and Kallie, and Blake walks me out to the car.

He pulls me close. “You are so incredibly sexy right now.”

I glance down at myself and laugh. “I’m a mess.”

He shakes his head and tucks a loose piece of hair behind my ear. “You look sexy as hell. I wish you didn’t have to leave.” I push up on my toes and kiss him, letting him know I wish I didn’t either. “That’s not helping.”

I laugh and push him off me. “I need to get my stuff ready for work tomorrow, but I’ll see you after work, right?” He kisses me again and I climb into the car.

“You bet. Be careful driving, and if I don’t hear from you tonight, call me tomorrow.” I agree and close the door. I start the car and he taps on the window, so I roll it down. “I love you.”

My heart pounds in my chest. “I love you too, so much. I’ll call you tomorrow.” I drive away and look in my rear view mirror, seeing him standing there with his arms crossed, watching me drive away. I smile the entire ride home. Today has to be one of my favorite days. It was so fun, relaxing, and downright hot as hell.

I pull into my driveway, get my suitcase out of the back, and wheel it up to the door. I put the key in the lock and let myself in. I flip on the lights before closing and locking the door. I toss my keys on the counter as I pass the kitchen and walk toward my bedroom.

“Welcome home, Laken.” I freeze in place, fear gripping my entire body. No fucking way is this happening to me. No fucking way did he find me, find my house. “What’s the matter? Can’t say hello to your fiancé?”

I don’t turn around. I try to think of the quickest way out of the house. I look at my bedroom and figure I need to try. I drop my suitcase and make a run for it, but just as I reach the door, he yanks my head back by my messy bun, causing me to fall against his chest.

“What the fuck do you want, Axel?”

He wraps his arm around my throat and drags me out to the living room. “Such a dirty mouth.” I struggle the whole way, digging my nails into his arms and trying to dig my shoes into the carpet to stop. It’s useless. He drags me like a rag doll, tossing me down onto the floor when we reach the living room. “We’ve got a lot of catching up to do. Why don’t you start?” I don’t say anything, and he slaps me hard as fuck across the face. I’ll never make it out alive this time. Five years later, he’s back to finish what he started. I feel the tears running down my face, but not at the fear of being beaten to death. No, that I can handle. It’s losing Blake. Leaving him behind is going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done. He will always be the love of my life, and I’ll picture him until my last breath. I say a silent prayer asking God to watch over him after I’m gone. “Hey, Laken, why don’t you stop your bitch crying and tell me all about Blake?” I snap my eyes open and he gives me that sickly-sweet laugh, causing the bile to rise. He knows everything.

  Chapter Sixteen

  Blake

I woke up today still in a great mood. Having London home is like the world lifted off my shoulders. When she ran to me in the front yard and jumped into my arms, I knew everything was going to be fine. That night, I did make love to her. I couldn’t fuck her. I wanted her to feel exactly how I feel, and what better way? Spending the day together yesterday, just goofing around, talking, and getting a little kinky in the pool, shit, that was amazing. It was one of the best days we’ve had together for sure. I hated letting her leave last night, but I knew she had crap to do, so I didn’t fight her too hard. I texted her before bed, but she must have been asleep already.

I finish my breakfast and get dressed before Jax starts bitching we need to leave. I don’t know why he does that. We take different vehicles most of the time. He just likes to be a dick sometimes, I think. I get dressed and smile when I pass him in the hallway. “Shut up, asshole, I overslept.” I just laugh as I sit down on the couch to have a quick s
moke. I just put it out when Jax comes down the hallway, hopping on one foot trying to tie his shoes. “Come on, we’re going to be late.” I try to hold back my laugh, but hell, he’s too easy to laugh at right now.

“Brother, what the fuck are you doing? Sit down and tie your damn boots. Brody isn’t going to fire us if we’re five minutes late.”

He flips me off, but sits down to tie his boots. “So, London coming over for dinner?”

I stand up and put my phone and wallet in my pants. “Nope. She’s making me dinner tonight. You and Kallie will just have to learn to entertain yourselves without my help.”

He laughs and we leave, taking separate vehicles like usual. It’s about an hour drive to the job, so I have the radio turned up, tapping on my steering wheel. It’s nice out this morning, so I have the windows open and I laugh when Jax tries to be an asshole and stop short in front of me. I mean, shit, I’d crush him in this truck.

We finally get to the job, and I grab my tools and head inside behind Jax. “Finally.” I laugh and look at Jax, who doesn’t find it funny at all.

“Brody, relax. We hit a little traffic.” He mumbles under his breath, and I walk over to him, wrapping my arm around his shoulder. “Lack of sex getting to you, man?” He elbows me in the stomach, but never denies it, so clearly that’s it. Jax and I laugh, but Brody never joins in.

We work for about three hours, and as usual, Jax and I are goofing off. I just put his hammer up in the rafters and hid the ladder outside. I can’t stop laughing, and he picks up his water bottle and throws it at me, hitting me in the chest. We both laugh and I feel my phone buzz my pocket. I pull it out and it’s Shannon. My heart drops and I press answer but don’t talk to her yet.

“I need to take this. I’ll be right back in.” He nods and finds another ladder, setting it up to get his hammer. “Shannon? What’s wrong?”

  “Blake? I don’t know what’s wrong, but I have a bad feeling.”

I pull out a cigarette because now I’m getting really nervous. “Why? What happened?” I don’t like the panic in her voice.

“I can’t get a hold of London. I know her schedule as well as I know mine. I always talk to her on her way to work. I called her and she didn’t answer. I called back like thirty times and nothing. I finally called her work, and her boss said she didn’t show up, but also didn’t call out.”

My heart is beating frantically in my chest. I feel like I’m going to have a fucking heart attack. “Fuck. I’m an hour away, but I’m leaving right now. I’ll call you when I get there and find out what the hell is going on.” I jump up and throw my cigarette.

“Blake, has London talked to you since she came home?”

That stops me in my tracks. “Talked to me about what?” She doesn’t say anything and I’m losing patience. “Talked to me about what, Shannon?”

  “Her past?”

I don’t have time for these fucking games. Something could have happened to her, and suddenly Shannon wants to talk about her past. “Seriously? Right now, you want to talk about this? We’re wasting time.” I hear her blow out a breath and my stomach turns. “What the fuck is it, Shannon? Just say it.”

“It’s her ex. He’s crazy. What if he found her?”

  What the fuck? “Crazy how?”

She’s quiet again and I have no time for this shit. I mean, she tells me all this, and now she wants to dive into some deep conversation. I need to get to my girl.

“Just crazy. I’m probably just paranoid, but she wasn’t happy I put that picture on Facebook, and now I can’t get a hold of her. Just hurry and get there and call me when you do.”

I tell her I will, then hang up, and run into the house. “Jax, Brody. I need to go. Something is wrong. No one can get a hold of London.”

I don’t grab my tools, and I don’t wait for a reply. I run out to my truck and peel out of there, kicking up dust from the dirt driveway. I blow through stop signs and barely stop at lights. I can’t get to her fast enough. My mind is all over the place. A crazy ex-boyfriend? What the fuck? She wasn’t happy about Shannon putting up a picture on Facebook? What the fuck is going on? Was she hiding from him, was he just a crazy, stage-five clinger, or was it serious crazy? Honestly, Shannon might have us both going crazy for nothing. Maybe London just overslept or was drunk and passed out like the other time I couldn’t get a hold of her. I need to calm down because I’m going to be no help to anyone with the amount of adrenaline going through me right now.

My cell phone rings and I don’t bother looking at it. I just hit speakerphone. “Yeah?”

“Blake, what the fuck is going on?”

Leave it to Jax to call me when I need someone the most. “Brother, I have no idea. Shannon told me she can’t get a hold of her, she didn’t show up for work, and she has a crazy ex. I don’t know what the fuck to think. My mind is all over the place and I don’t fucking like it.” I make a sharp right, causing the tires to squeal.

“Fuck, slow the fuck down. You getting killed in an accident isn’t going to help anyone. Listen, Brody just talked to Shannon, and he said she’s really upset, but he said that she told him she’s upset for probably no reason. So just calm the fuck down. It’s probably nothing.”

I want to believe him, I really do, but something is telling me he’s wrong. There is something wrong. I feel it. “I want to believe it, but I can’t. Not until I know everything is fine.” I hear Brody yelling and Jax throwing tools in his box.

“How far away are you from her place?” I don’t know how I did it so fast, but I’m only fifteen minutes away. I tell him that and he tells me to hold on. I curse and smack my steering wheel when I get stuck at a light. “Brother, listen. Brody and I are leaving here in a few minutes. We will meet you there, so if you leave for some reason, make sure you call me and let me know, all right? Don’t forget.”

“Thanks, I appreciate it.” I hear his car start and he’s yelling for Brody.

“Blake, you are our brother, which makes London our sister. We’re there for family.” I hear his door close and listen to him peel out, much as I did. “All right, Brody is with me. We’re right behind you.”

You couldn’t ask for better family. We hang up and minutes later, I’m flying up her street. I pull into the driveway and jump out of the truck, running to the door. I try the handle but it’s locked. I bang on the door, but nothing. Her car is here, so she must be. I peek in the front window but the house is eerily quiet. I go around back and try the sliding door, but it’s also locked.

“What the fuck!” I search for something to break the glass, and I end up picking up a chair and hitting it against the window next to the door. I hit it three times before it finally breaks, and I use the legs of the chair to knock out all the glass so I don’t cut myself. I climb in and look around the dining room, seeing nothing. “London?” I rush into the living room, and I stop dead in my tracks when I glance down the hallway. “London?” I start walking toward her, but the guy who I have to believe is her ex has one arm around her throat and the other around her waist. I want to fucking kill him. No, I am going to kill him, but not until he drops the knife he’s holding against her stomach. She’s crying uncontrollably, her lip is swollen and bloody, her eye is swollen shut, and I can only imagine what else he’s done to her.

“Blake, I was losing faith in you. I thought when you didn’t hear from your piece of ass, you’d come running a lot faster.”

My blood is boiling. I want to fucking lunge at him. “Listen, why don’t you just let London go and you and I can handle this like men. Real men that beat the shit out of each other, not women.” He jerks her head back and she screams out. “Fuck, stop.” I’ve never felt so useless. I start to slowly walk toward them, hoping to get close enough to grab his hand.

“Stop right there or I will fucking stick this knife in her.” I stop immediately. “Good. Let’s go to the living room, because this little slut has a lot to tell you.” I can’t take it. I run at him and he cuts her
arm.

“You fucking piece of shit. I’ll fucking kill you, that’s a promise.” He just stares at me and London shakes her head. “Fine, to the living room.” I watch him drag her, and I feel sick to my stomach. If I try to help her, he’ll hurt her worse, so here I am like a fucking pussy watching my girl bleeding. He pulls her down to the floor with him and points for me to sit in front of them.

“This is cozy. Now, like I said, she has a lot to tell you.”

I stare at London and the fear and pain I see brings tears to my eyes. “Talk to me, baby.”

He tightens his hold on her neck and I shut up. “Shut up! Tell him who you are and who I am.” I watch her as she closes her one eye that isn’t swollen shut already.

“My real name is Laken Walsh. London Tweed is the name I picked for writing. This is Axel.” He shakes his head and whispers something in her ear. “We were supposed to get married but I ran.” What the fuck? Her name is Laken and this fucking piece of shit was her fiancé?

“So, you see, Blake, she was never yours. She belongs to me, and she’ll be coming home with me. She was a dirty slut, sleeping around and who the fuck knows what else, but her play time is over. Time to come home and be my wife.”

Is this guy for real? He’s crazier than I thought. I need to get him to come after me and leave her alone. “You really think she’s going to choose you over me? I mean, shit, look at you. Not only are you a pussy who beats women, but you’re a dork. Maybe if you went to the gym, got a few tattoos, and learned how to treat a woman, you’d be half the man I am, but from what I see, that’s not happening.” I can see it in his face. I’m pissing him off. I just fucking hope he comes at me and doesn’t hurt her anymore. “I bet you have to pay women to fuck you. You probably can’t even get it up most of the time.” I can see panic on London’s, or Laken’s, or whatever the fuck her name is, face, but I need to keep going. I need to get him off her. “London and I have the best sex life. She loves when I fuck her. She screams my name, my name.” Nothing yet. “That make you happy? Knowing I can please her and you never could? She told me that. She told me that you were the worst sex she ever had and that I am the best she ever had. I mean, look at me though, compared to you.”
