“Dana, wait a moment,” Matthew said and Dana turned around to look at him. Matthew looked her up and down and smiled. The woman was very beautiful and even though Matthew knew it was wrong, he’s had his eyes on her ever since she started working for them. “We never gave you a proper welcome and I noticed that you eat in your office a lot of the time.” Dana was wondering where Matthew was going with all of this.
“Yeah, I like to get as much work done as possible. So I typically eat in my office while completing my assignments.” Matthew nodded his head at this.
“I was wondering; would you like to have lunch with me today? I’d like to thank you for all of the hard work. I know it’s probably difficult for you to be a Legal Assistant when you’re obviously qualified to be an amazing Attorney.” Dana’s eyes went wide at this. It was difficult being a Legal Assistant when her goal in life is to be an Attorney. Matthew was very kind and appeared to understand how Dana felt. She knew that her outing with Matthew would be pure and he was going out of his way to make Dana feel comfortable.
“Sure Matthew, I’d love to have lunch with you.” It was strange. Dana knew if Austin was there instead of Matthew, that she would have been jittery if he had asked her that. Matthew didn’t make her feel like that and this made Dana believe that Matthew was the best boss she could have asked for. Matthew grinned at that.
“Great, I won’t keep you caged in the office, I’d like to take you somewhere.”
“If it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle for you, then I’d love that.” Dana smiled a sincere smile and made her way back to her office. There was a little unease in her heart, but she was sure because she was feeling bad about Matthew doing all this for her. She typed up the letters that Matthew gave to her and somewhere in the middle of it her thoughts went to Austin.
“I wonder what he’s doing.” Dana murmured. She couldn’t stop thinking about the man and what they had done. She didn’t know what she did that made Austin think that she was the type of woman that fooled around at work. She was disgusted at herself for allowing temptation to take over her and she was angry with herself for constantly thinking about it. Dana thought if they started to date then things wouldn’t look as bad.
“But he’s my boss,” Dana kept saying to herself. An employer dating their employee was a recipe for disaster. She wished that she could talk to someone about it, but Dana didn’t want to confide in any of her friends about it. “Enough,” Dana whispered and brought her attention back to her work. She needed to focus on completing her work for Matthew, so that she could give it to him before they headed out for lunch.

Matthew sat back in his chair and smiled. He was interested in the woman, he couldn’t deny that; however, that wasn’t the sole reason that he asked Dana out. Matthew honestly did want Dana to feel comfortable at the company, and to be comfortable with one’s workplace they have to be comfortable with their employers. Matthew picked up his office phone and dialed the familiar extension.
“Joy, can you come in for a moment?” Matthew asked once Joy answered the phone on the second ring.
“Sure, I’ll be right there.” Matthew leaned back in his chair and waited for Joy to come in.
“Shut the door behind you,” Matthew said and Joy raised a perfectly arched brow. Considering that the company had an open door policy, Joy assumed that Matthew was going to ask or tell her something confidential.
“Is everything alright, Matthew?” Joy asked with a concerned expression on her face. Had Dana done something wrong? When Dana went back to her office, she didn’t appear uneasy.
“Of course, I just wanted to see how you felt about Dana,” Matthew asked and stared the woman straight in her eyes.
“I think Dana is great. She picks up on things pretty easily and it’s seldom that I need to tell her the same thing twice. She’s got a good head on her shoulders.” Matthew nodded his head.
“I thought so too, but I wanted to ask someone who sees her in work more. I’m going to take her out to lunch today to give her a proper welcome to the company.” Joy smiled at that. She was happy that Matthew didn’t call her in there to talk about something serious. Joy was quite fond of Dana and was beginning to think of her like a little sister.
“That’s very thoughtful of you, Matt. She is a very hard worker.” Matthew gave his signature smile and handed over a file to Joy.
“Can you review this for accuracy?” Joy nodded her head and made her way towards the door once she was told that she could go. Matthew leaned back in his chair and thought about Dana. There was something about her that Matthew was attracted to. She had brains, class, and beauty. He was glad that they went with her. He was hoping that she would soon feel the same about him and not think about the fact that they were in an employer and employee relationship. Matthew believed that after their date, she’d start seeing him as a nice man other than as a boss.
“This will be fun,” Matthew said with a smile and went back to the paperwork that still littered his desk.
Chapter Nine
“Have you been to Atera before?” Matthew asked once he had helped Dana out of his car. She blushed slightly when their hands met, but she smiled at his kindness.
“No, I haven’t. I’ve heard great things about Atera though.” I’ve also heard they were incredibly expensive, Dana thought to herself. Dana felt bad that Matthew had taken time out of his day to treat Dana to lunch and she felt equally as bad for being taken to an awfully expensive restaurant. The two walked in and a host smiled a wide grin when he saw Matthew.
“Ah, Mr. Connors. It’s a pleasure to see you as always.” The two shook hands and Matthew returned the sentiments.
“It’s great to see you as well, Charles.” Charles grabbed two menus and asked the two to follow him. Dana got a good look at the place and noticed that it was small, but incredibly fancy. She heard that Atera was catered to fit the needs of the wealthiest of individuals, but she never thought that it would be this secluded. It was too early for wine, so they settled for water.
“I thought this place only opens in the evenings?” Dana asked once she remembered that the restaurant normally catered dinner functions.
“It does, but luckily I know the owner and got some strings pulled.” Dana’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Matthew, you did not have to do that. I would have been happy going to I Hop or Denny’s.” Matthew frowned slightly for a moment and then chuckled.
“I wanted to do something a little more special than I Hop or Denny’s for you, Dana. You’re doing a fine job and Austin and I are happy to have you.” Dana’s whole body flushed at the mention of Austin’s name. Matthew liked how modest she was, it was refreshing. Personally Matthew didn’t feel like he was doing enough for Dana, but he didn’t want to scare her off. He wanted to get to know Dana Prescott as a woman not just Dana Prescott his and Austin’s Legal Assistant.
When Charles arrived back to the table, they placed their orders.
“So do you come here a lot?” Dana asked trying to make small talk. She was all for going out to lunch with Matthew earlier that day, but now she was tense and nervous.
“I’ve been here a few times with clients and the food is amazing. I always get the Foie Gras terrine with rhubarb. I think about switching it up sometimes and trying something different, but don’t try to fix it if it’s not broke right?” Dana laughed at that. Honestly, that sounded like something that she’d do.
“Well at least you got something exotic sounding,” Dana said and moved a stray hair out of her face. Matthew took in a sharp inhale and he prayed to god that Dana didn’t hear him. The woman was gorgeous and Matthew wanted to make her his. “I normally get something I’m familiar with when I go to a restaurant for the first time.” Dana got the Crab and green tomatoes, borage and salsa Verde and even though she’s never eaten it before, it was at least something that she heard of. “It does feel weird eating dinner in the middle of the day though.” Dana commented and h
ad a sip of her water.
“In our line of business, you eat whatever you can when you can grab it.” Dana appreciated Matthew saying “in our line of business”. It made Dana think that she was honestly a valuable person on the team.
Dana and Matthew spoke for a long time as they ate their food and Dana started to view Matthew more so as a friend than a boss. Even though the man was worth billions of dollars, he’d never said anything that made him sound arrogant or cocky about it. Dana had to admit that she was having a lot of fun. Speaking with Matthew kept her mind off of her father, Austin, and the fact that she wasn’t an attorney.
“We should be heading out now,” Matthew said looking at his watch. He would have loved to spend more time with Dana, but he didn’t want to seem too pushy and he had a lot of work on his desk.
“Time really flies when you’re having fun.” Dana said and smiled at Matthew and his heart sped up a little. He loved when Dana smiled at him, it was the most beautiful thing in the world. Matthew paid the bill, left a tip, and then helped Dana out of her seat. Matthew was the type of men that women fantasized about at night.
“I’m glad that you had fun, I had fun as well.” On the drive to the office, Dana told Matthew of how her life was when she was in law school, and he shared stories with her as well. They were back at the office way too quick for Matthew. Matthew was a confident man, but he thought that Dana was reserved, not that it was a bad thing. He wanted to tell her that he’d like to see her again, outside of work, but he had a bad feeling about it.
Dana could tell that Matthew was lost in thought as he walked her to her office and she just figured that he was thinking about that stack of paperwork on his desk. Dana couldn’t tell that she had Matthew at a loss for words.
“Is there anything else I could help you with, Matt?” Dana asked going straight to her professional tone again. Just because they had a good time didn’t mean that Matthew wasn’t still her boss. Matthew shook his head and frowned.
“Not at the moment, thank you for today.” Matthew said and told Dana goodbye. There were so many things that he wanted to say to Dana, but he was pretty confident that this was a bad time for it. “I need to think of a way to get close to her without turning her off or scaring her away.” Matthew mumbled to himself as he made his way towards his office.

“Thank you so much,” Dana said as she paid for her Chinese food and waited for it to be cooked. She was in the mood for Chinese today, so she decided to pick some up for dinner. Dana sat in an available seat by the window and pulled out her phone. Today had been a good day for her, thanks to Matthew. If she didn’t work for the man, she would have been more than happy to become friends with him. Dana heard the doorbell chime when another patron came through the door, but she didn’t look up from her phone.
“Dana?” A deep baritone voice said and Dana’s head flew up to see Austin directly in front of her. They hadn’t talked once since they slept together, so it was not a shock to Dana that her cheeks burned up at the sight of him.
“Mr. Connors,” Dana said obviously out of breath. He looked amazing as ever in a black suit with his hair slick back in its familiar fashion. Austin was surprised to see Dana there, but he was also quite pleased.
“Austin, Dana. I don’t mind if you call me Austin.” He said and went up to the counter and grabbed a bag that the cashier offered him before returning to Dana. “I didn’t think I’d see you here today, how are you doing?” Austin said and smiled. He could sense that his presence there sent the young woman into shock, and he could understand why.
“I thought I’d pick up some dinner,” Dana said quietly while avoiding direct eye contact with Austin. She felt weird and slightly uncomfortable, but she was equally as happy to see him.
“I always get my Chinese food from here, it’s the best in New York.” Austin commented and sat down next to her. Dana’s breath caught in her throat again, but she immediately released her breath and shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She didn’t really have anything to say to that and she hated that she was this flustered around Austin. Dana jumped slightly when the woman announced that her food was done, but she composed herself quickly and made her way to the counter.
“Well it was good to see you, Austin. I’m heading home now.” Dana said and gave Austin an awkward smile before making her way to the door.
“I’ll walk you to your car,” Austin told her. Dana didn’t take her father’s car that day, and the Chinese place was such a short walk from Connors and Associates that it was stupid to call a cab or an Uber. Dana figured that she’d just take the bus home.
“Oh, I didn’t drive today.” Dana said as the two walked out into the hot and still light street. Austin furrowed his brows at this.
“Well, is your Uber here? I can wait till they arrive.” Austin wasn’t going to let Dana wait by herself even if it was still light out. Austin after all did care for Dana despite the fact that he was married. Austin hid his ring finger expertly away from Dana’s averting glances.
“No, I was… just going to take the bus home.” Dana practically whispered and Austin was dumbstruck.
“Tsk… why didn’t you say that earlier? It’s no problem, I’ll take you home.” Austin said and grabbed Dana’s arm with his free hand. Dana started to panic then. She appreciated the sentiment, but she couldn’t let Austin take her home. She was just too nervous around Austin and he was acting like that nothing even happened between them.
“That’s alright, Austin. I only live maybe fifteen minutes away by bus. I don’t mind waiting.”
“Well I do,” Austin said. “If it’ll take you fifteen minutes by bus it should take us five by car.” Austin clutched Dana’s arm strongly and practically dragged her to his car. He held the door open for her and Dana reluctantly got in.
“Thank you,” Dana mumbled when Austin got in. Austin looked over at Dana and saw that her cheeks were flushed. She was nervous and didn’t want to be left alone with him. Austin could understand why, but that didn’t mean that he was just going to let her go home by bus. Austin looked Dana up and down and thought that she looked good in her professional clothing. Austin couldn’t help but to feel the familiar stir in his lower half. He wanted Dana again. He needed Dana again.
Dana looked at Austin then because he refused to stop staring at her. Dana looked into his eyes and saw heat in them. She wanted to look away from him then, but the lust in his eyes were contagious. Not again, Dana thought as Austin moved his face to hers and captured her lips with his.
Chapter Ten
Austin couldn’t drive Dana to a hotel because he and Amber shared a bank account and he honestly didn’t want to explain why he checked into a hotel room. Dana told him that she lived with her father so that was out of the question as well. Austin needed to feel her body as soon as possible, so he took her to a park that he knew that nobody ever frequented.
“Keep the food up here,” Austin said as he pushed a button that tinted his windows. Dana blushed, but she did as she was told. The two of them made their way to the back seat of Austin’s 2016 Grand Cherokee and Austin hastily took off his clothes and hers. “God, I’ve missed your body,” Austin said as he eyed Dana’s hard nipples. He fingered both of them before bringing his mouth to one and then the other.
“I… missed yours too,” it was embarrassing to say that, but if she hadn’t missed him and his body, she wouldn’t still be thinking about it. Austin played with her breasts for a while before pushing her down onto the seat. Austin spread Dana’s legs and pushed in a digit to see if she was wet enough for him. When he was sure that she was, he aimed his engorged erection towards her entrance.
“Wait! A condom!” Dana said once she received some of her common sense back. She couldn’t remember if they had used a condom before, she believed that Austin did, but she wasn’t sure. Dana wasn’t on the pill since she didn’t really have sex, and she wasn’t trying to have a baby out of wedlock. Call her old fashioned, but
that’s what she believed in.
“Don’t have any, but I’ll pull out before I burst.” Austin said and thrusted deep into her without waiting for her response. Dana tensed greatly before throwing her head back and moaning out in pain and pleasure. Dana was a tight fit around Austin’s thick length, but he thrusted in and out of her with reckless abandon. “Uh…” Austin let out a guttural moan as Dana’s sex sucked him into her.
“Ah! Hah!” Dana moaned and wrapped her arms around Austin’s neck and brought him down for a deep kiss. Austin allowed her to do so even though he felt the act was too intimate. He was attracted to the woman and he wanted her, but at the end of the day even though his marriage sucked at the moment, he still loved his wife.
“You’re squeezing me in…” Austin’s raspy voice breathed out. They matched each other’s rhythm and Austin’s mouth traveled from Dana’s mouth, to her neck, to her breasts. He wanted to make her feel good and he wanted to hear her voice as she came. “I can’t hold on much longer.” Austin whispered and quickened his pace.
Many emotions ran through Dana’s mind as they had sex. She wanted this man bad, and despite not wanting people to think that Austin was giving her special privileges, she was willing to try to pursue a relationship with him. Dana was positive that this wasn’t her raging hormones talking as they pounded into each other, this was definitely her true feelings. She wanted to get to know Austin as the man and as the billionaire attorney.
“I’m coming!” Dana choked out and wrapped her legs tightly around Austin’s hips and screamed as her orgasm erupted through her body. Austin watched Dana’s face as she called out in ecstasy and shivered as his own orgasm rapidly approached him. Without a second to spare, Austin pulled out of Dana and exploded with a low groan onto her stomach.
