The Wedding Page 37

by Sian Ceinwen

This was the final fitting for the ladies’ dresses. In the end, she had decided to only go with these two ladies in her bridal party. A part of her had wanted to add someone, maybe Chloe, or even Nikki, as a bridesmaid, just to match the number of groomsmen. However, the wedding felt so special and important to her that, even though she loved her family, it had been these people who had seen her through her worst moments this year, and it was these people that she wanted by her side on the day.

“Sorry, Seb, you won’t have a partner in the bridal party,” Heather had told him when she’d come to the decision.

“Good. I don’t want to be tied to one woman, unless it’s you anyway, lover!” he’d replied with a wink.

They were all going to Sebastian’s apartment tonight for a combined bachelor and bachelorette party. Sebastian had been pretty insistent that they should throw Harrison a “proper” bachelor party, but Harrison had stamped out that idea pretty quickly. Everyone had a fairly good idea what that would have meant, and Harrison told Sebastian that he’d had enough of drinking and clubs over the last five months to last him a lifetime.

The reminder of that awful time had been enough to make Sebastian change his position. Heather was pleased, there were quite a few people coming tonight, and it promised to be a good night.

“Okay, so we’ve got a surprising number of guests confirmed for the wedding,” Ally said after taking her dress off and opening up her laptop.

“Are you planning to direct my wedding like it’s a fashion show?” Heather laughed.

“No, but I don’t think you’d pull this off without me,” Ally grinned.

She wasn’t wrong. Ally’s skills, not to mention her contacts within different aspects of event coordination, had been invaluable for getting this together in the ludicrously short amount of time that they had. The venue they had originally chosen was long gone, and they hadn’t been able to find anything anywhere near as suitable until Sebastian had offered up Galena.

It made perfect sense. There was more than enough room for a wedding, it would make a beautiful backdrop for photos, and most important of all, both she and Harrison loved it out there. It had fast become one of her favorite places in the world since she’d first visited in October.

Games We Play was sitting at the top of the charts, and Galena was full of amazing memories of their time recording it. Yes, she had also gone out there at her lowest point, but even then, the house had been full of love and music.

“Even though you’d called it off, it seems like everyone who’s anyone still wants to come to your wedding.”

“Of course they do,” Ariana laughed, “after that interview you guys gave, you’re even more ‘hashtag couple goals’ than ever. Who the hell would want to miss out on being a part of your special day?”

Heather grinned, “Well, all I care about is that you guys are there. My family and friends, that’s what matters. Anyone else who comes to celebrate with us is an added bonus.”

“Spoken exactly like the woman who isn’t trying to organize catering,” Ally rolled her eyes dramatically.

“Am I going to be the death of you, Ally Morrison?” Heather laughed.

“Yes, you really are. You’re lucky I like you, Heather, but I should warn you that my fee for your next fashion show has tripled, now!”

“Still worth it.” Heather blew her a kiss.

When they were finished running through the plans for the wedding, Heather showed them her wedding dress, which was close to being completed.

“Heather,” Ariana gasped, “it’s absolutely gorgeous! I’ve been meaning to ask you.” She looked a little bit nervous. “Can I commission you to make my wedding dress for me? I’m happy to pay you, of course!”

Heather laughed, “Of course I will, darling, and if you try to pay me for it, I’ll be insulted! It will be my gift to you for the wedding.”

Ariana smiled, and they hugged each other tightly. Heather was so glad that she had this woman back in her life again.

They spent the rest of the day together, having lunch and getting their nails done, before heading back to Heather’s where they would be getting ready together for the party that night. As soon as they walked in the door, Heather saw Harrison and ran over to him, coming to an abrupt stop in front of him.

“Hi, angel,” he said with a smile and carefully wrapped his arms around her.

It had been four weeks since the accident, and they were hoping that he’d be recovered fully by their wedding in two weeks’ time, but just in case, they’d decided to delay their honeymoon by a couple of weeks so Harrison could get the all-clear from the doctors before they left.

“Hey, honey,” she said, turning her face up to his to kiss him.

Sparks of electricity shot through her body, and she desperately wanted to take him into their bedroom and have her way with him. Unfortunately, they had guests and had to be social.

“Hi, ladies,” Harrison greeted Ariana and Ally, who smiled at him from the sofa where they had happily seated themselves, Ally choosing to sit next to Hayden, who was smiling at her.

“Oh, Hayden. I didn’t see you there, sorry, darling!” Heather said, looking over at him.

“You did seem slightly distracted.” Hayden laughed. “I’ll forgive you, this time. They don’t call me, Sebastian Fox. He’d never stand for you ignoring him like that, Heather!”

Harrison and Heather headed over to the sofa as Ally shook her head and said, “I still don’t get the joke!”

“What don’t you get, Ally?” Harrison asked as he eased himself down on to the chaise section.

“The jokes about Heather and Sebastian having an affair. The stuff they say to each other, it surprises me that you’re comfortable with it.” She looked confused.

“‘Wildly inappropriate,’ she called it, Harrison!” Heather stuck her tongue out at Ally from where she was sitting, Harrison’s hand in hers.

  “It is!” Ally protested.

Harrison thought about it for a moment. “You’re right, Ally. It is ‘wildly inappropriate,’ I suppose, but maybe that’s just what we all are. I’m comfortable with it because I’m certain of Heather, and I’m certain of Sebastian. I also know that if they thought for a second that I wasn’t okay with it, the joke would die in an instant.”

“If I were you, I wouldn’t be certain of Sebastian Fox for a second.” Ally rolled her eyes, and they all laughed.

It was Hayden who replied, “I’m surprised you haven’t realized by now, Ally. Seb sleeps with other women—”

“A lot of women!” Ariana emphasized with a grin.

“Agreed.” Hayden continued, “But the idea of him sleeping with Heather is hilarious because she’s probably the one person he would never sleep with, well…one of the three women, he would never sleep with.” He put his arm around Ally and gave her a wink as he nodded his head toward Ariana as well. “Seb’s also probably the single, most loyal person I’ve ever met. He would die for any one of us.”

“I suppose that makes sense,” Ally said, kissing Hayden, and then when they broke their kiss, she added, “but I stand by my original assessment at Galena that you guys are crazy!”

Heather got everyone drinks, and they talked for a while before going to get ready for the party. Once they were all dressed, they had another round of drinks, and Ariana and Ally walked over to Heather with wicked grins on their faces.

“Heather, my dearest darling, you need to wear this!” Ariana put a gaudy, pink veil coming off a plastic tiara on her head, and everyone laughed at her horrified look.

Ally slipped a white, polyester sash over her head that had ‘Bride-To-Be’ emblazoned on it in gaudy, pink writing. “And this as well!”

“No, way. I hate you guys, so much!” Heather laughed. She didn’t hate them, though. It was so tacky, but she also loved that they’d done this for her. “Just know this, Ariana, I shall not forget this when your bachelorette party arrive
s! You will rue the day that you ever put polyester anything on me!”

“You can’t scare me with polyester,” Ariana said as she poked her tongue out at Heather, “I’m not you.”

“Oh, it’s not the polyester that you should be scared of. Just you wait…” Heather trailed off ominously, and everyone laughed.

They had a final round of drinks while they waited for the limousine that was going to be taking them to Sebastian’s place. When they arrived, the party seemed to have already started without them.

Most people had already arrived and were spread throughout the apartment, drinking, and talking. There was music playing from the speaker system, and Sebastian greeted them, his arm around her cousin’s waist.

“Hi, Seb. Bye, Seb!” Ariana said with a laugh as she walked off to find Gabriel, who had been helping Sebastian to set up today.

“Hi, darlings.” Heather smiled and gave each of them a hug. “Point me in the direction of the alcohol, Sebastian Fox. It’s my bachelorette party, and it’s time to get my drink on!”

He kissed Nikki’s neck, and she giggled, then he dropped his arm from her waist to take Heather over to his bar, which was being tended by a hired bartender tonight.

“What would you like to drink tonight, lover?” he asked her.

“Rum and Coke. It’s turning into my new favorite drink.” She smirked, and the bartender nodded.

She turned to look at the room as she waited for the drink, and her mouth dropped into an ‘O’ of horror. There were balloons everywhere that she hadn’t noticed until now—balloons with her face on them.

“Holy shit! Your face…” Sebastian started laughing so hard that he had doubled over.

Harrison had joined them and high-fived Sebastian, also laughing at Heather’s reaction.

“I hate you both!” Heather announced, taking her drink from the bartender and taking a massive swig of it before continuing, “I don’t think there’s enough alcohol in the world to make me forget these. Sebastian, you are no longer my lover, and Harrison, the wedding is off again!”

Harrison slipped his arms around her waist, bent his head and nipped her earlobe with his teeth, then said in her ear, “Is that so?”

She felt the arousal coming over her, but even still, she maintained her haughty demeanor and said, “Yes, that is exactly so. I can never get past this.”

He pulled her tighter to him, lowered his head further, and kissed her neck before drawing his tongue up in a line back to her ear and saying, “Are you really sure?”

Heather smiled, turned around in his arms, and met his lips with hers to kiss him. When their kiss ended, she laughed. “Okay, I might just be able to forgive you, but only because you’re a fucking sex god.” She turned her head to smirk at Sebastian. “So, you’re shit out of luck on the forgiveness front, Seb!”

“You know what, lover?” He emphasized the word, heavily, “That look on your face was worth it. I have no regrets.”

“I see you’re back with Nikki this evening?” Heather raised an eyebrow at him.

“Yeah. I do have a one-time-only policy, so she should be off the table, but I might have to make an exception for the York women, you know? We’ll see what happens; there are a few options here tonight.”

He grinned at Heather, and she frowned back at him. “Please don’t be a dick to my family, darling. If you’re not going to sleep with her, don’t lead her on, at least.”

“Why must you always ruin my fun?” He rolled his eyes at her.

“I thought I was your fun?” She laughed back at him.

Harrison ordered himself a whisky, and when he had it, they circulated the room. All of their closest family and friends were here tonight. They’d left their parents off the guest list, but everyone else had made it out tonight.

Heather took a selfie of herself with one of the balloons and posted on Instagram with the caption:

@sebastianfoxofficial can rot in hell for these! Life pro-tip, balloons with your face on them are never flattering! #partyhard #HarrisonandHeatherWedding #SebsHouseIsAboutToGetTrashed

A few minutes later, her phone pinged with a notification that she had a comment on her post from @meggggzy2005, and she took a look.

Every picture of you is pretty @heatheryorkofficial! I can’t wait to see your wedding dress!

Heather showed her phone to Harrison, who was standing next to her and told him, “She’s the sweetest kid!”

He smiled at her; she’d told him about driving Megan home when it had happened but hadn’t really mentioned about the message she’d sent Heather when they were split up.

“She’s also completely right,” he smiled at her, “every picture of you is perfect.”

“You’re biased,” Heather stuck her tongue out at him, “would you be okay if I invited Megan to come to the wedding?”

“I’m fine with that, angel. As long as you are there saying ‘I do,’ it doesn’t matter to me who else is in attendance.” He kissed her, then, long and slow.

When their kiss ended, Heather sent Megan a direct message.

Hey, Megan. Thanks for the comment and being such a great fan. Do you want to come to the wedding? If you do, shoot me your address and I’ll send you an invite. Your parents can come, too, of course.

Heather laughed when Megan’s reply came through almost instantaneously.

  Are you SERIOUS?!?!?!? OMG YES!!!!!

The next message contained the address for where to send Megan’s invitation. It was the same place they’d dropped her off that day back in October.

Harrison took her to get another drink, and Heather realized she was starting to get quite drunk. She could barely keep her hands off Harrison but was trying to be mindful of the fact that there were a lot of people around them and made sure to be careful of his healing rib cage.

They made their way over to the pool table, where Sebastian was holding court as the reigning champion of the evening. Apparently, he’d beaten Jake on roughly the fourth game that anyone had played tonight and had beaten everyone else, since.

“You want to play with me, lover?” Sebastian asked with a wink, “And I don’t mean pool, of course!”

Heather laughed, “Well, I am horny as fuck, right now! Let’s go, then…” she paused for a second or two before continuing, “and I do mean pool, of course!”

Harrison chuckled, standing directly behind Heather and slipping his arms around her waist as Sebastian racked up the balls for their game.

“I think you might have paid Seb back for the balloons, angel,” he smirked at Sebastian, “I think he just about had a heart attack, thinking that you were serious for a second.”

“My brain doesn’t work so well when it’s fueled by Glenfiddich,” Sebastian told them with a laugh, as he lined up to break.

Their game didn’t take long. Drunk or not, Sebastian was still a skilled pool player, and Heather wasn’t great at the best of times, much worse when she had reached what must be her seventh drink of the night.

She had fun, though; between each shot as she was waiting for Sebastian to take his turn, she was in Harrison’s arms. He was teasing her and had been all night, she realized after a while. He would stroke her arm, or her thigh, or her neck, lightly with his fingers. Every now and then, he would kiss her on her lips or her neck. It was nothing that would look particularly erotic to anyone who saw it at the party unless you had watched him do it to her repeatedly for hours.

Heather was starting to get very worked up, and by the end of their match, she didn’t give a crap about playing pool anymore. She just wanted to leave this party and have sex with her future husband. When Sebastian potted the black ball, she congratulated him and turned immediately to kiss Harrison passionately.

“Is something up, angel?” he asked her quietly.

“I certainly fucking hope so,” she slipped her hand down to his crotch and squeezed him quickly before putting both arms around his neck to kis
s him again.

“Tease,” he said to her when they came up for air.

Heather laughed, “Like you can talk. Don’t think that I don’t know what you’re doing, honey.”

He dropped his head and kissed her neck before asking in her ear, “What am I doing, angel?”

“Driving me crazy, that’s what,” she shivered.

“Good, that’s what I was hoping to do,” he gave her a wicked grin.

Sebastian walked over to them and said casually, “You know, I’ve always imagined Heather in my bed; I just expected that it would be me in there with her. The room’s free if you need it,” he winked at them.

Harrison grinned at him, “I’m about ten seconds away from taking you up on that offer!”

“Okay, Seb, I get the point,” Heather sighed dramatically and put a tiny bit of distance between herself and Harrison so they could be mildly less inappropriate in front of their guests.

Harrison kept Heather on edge for the rest of the night, though. Continuing his slow torment of assaulting her senses with his touches and kisses as the time went on. She didn’t drink any more; she’d had enough, and she wanted to be with it enough when they got home to have sex.

Near the end of the night, there was a round of very drunk speeches from the people that were left at the party. They were far more inappropriate than the ones that had been given at their engagement party. Embarrassing stories that could never have been shared in front of their grandparents.

When they were leaving, she thanked Ariana, who had helped Sebastian organize the party, and who wanted to make it clear to Heather that she’d had nothing to do with the balloons. Heather laughed and asked her to pass her thanks on to Sebastian, who was in the corner of the room, making out with a brunette woman that definitely wasn’t Nikki.

As she and Harrison made their way to the elevator to leave, Heather took great delight in popping a balloon and called out to the room, “That’s what I think of that!”
