by Lynnette Bernard

“What, Mate? Don’t you know that there’s nothing better than being inside of you?”

He pulled her hands away from her face and kissed her lips lightly. He saw the embarrassment on her face, but he also saw the gentle love. It was that look that he lived and breathed for.

“To have you love us is all that matters, Meeka,” he told her honestly. “To be given the gift of your body is something we treasure.”

“To have you as our mate is the miracle that we never thought we would ever have,” Wade whispered against her cheek before he claimed her mouth and kissed her deeply. When he pulled back and looked down at her, he was overwhelmed by the look of love that she gave him.

Reece pulled out of her, causing a moan of loss to escape her. Before she could protest, he turned her body so that she straddled Wade’s waist. Wade reached between them and grabbed hold of his shaft, holding it steady while he helped her take him deep. Her groan of satisfaction filled the bedroom.

“Hold on, baby,” he told her, taking firm hold of her hips and holding her in place as he surged up into her over and over again.

Meeka felt her body lighting on fire. She didn’t know which way to move. Everything they did made her body sing with desire and pleasure. She gasped as she tried to catch her breath. She was suddenly worried that she might pass out.

“No, Meeka,” Reece cautioned her. “Just relax, honey.”

He pressed against her back so that she rested against Wade’s chest. Both men waited while her heart calmed and her breathing eased. She did her best to relax and smiled as she realized that her belly was squeezed between them.

“Are we hurting our cub?” Wade asked, concerned.

  “No,” Meeka said, laughing.

“Good,” Reece whispered, grabbing for the bottle of lube and flipping open the cap. He poured a line of lube across Meeka’s ass cheeks, laughing softly as she gasped at the coldness of it. “Just relax. I’m going to warm it up for you.”

Meeka chuckled softly, her laughter quickly turning to a moan of pleasure as Reece spread her cheeks and rubbed the lube around and around her back hole. The puckered star fluttered at his touch. When he circled his thumb across it, Meeka thought she would actually die from the pleasure. When he pressed his thumb deep inside of her and pumped in and out of her, pressing more lube into her, she pressed back against him, looking for more.

“We’re going to take you together,” Reece whispered. “Wade is going to stay inside your warm pussy while I take this sexy ass.”

“Is that okay with you, baby?” Wade asked her, doing his best not to move.

Meeka nodded against his shoulder, unable to do more than make soft sounds of desire. It was not something she would have ever thought she would be reduced to, but her men certainly knew how to make her become nothing but a puddle of need.

“We need you, too,” Reece told her as he kissed her shoulder and continued to spread her tight hole with his fingers.

Once he was certain she was stretched enough, he lubed up his cock, took hold of his shaft, and pressed the head against her hole. Pushing in slowly, he held his breath and centered himself to keep in control.

“Push out for me, Meeka,” he told her, smiling as she immediately followed his direction.

Her body opened up just that little bit, and he was able to slip past the guardian ring of muscle. The lube helped him to slide inside of her until he was settled deep. When his balls kissed her body, he sighed with complete bliss.

Leaning forward, he blanketed her back with his chest and kissed her neck lightly. He waited for her body to relax between them, loving the tight feel of being inside of her and sharing her with his triad partner.

“I like it, too,” Meeka whispered, reaching up and holding both men’s hands as they rested on either side of Wade’s head.

When her men began to move, all she could think about was the way their bodies fit so perfectly together. She could feel their lengths touching deep inside of her. She felt her body stretching to accept their thick girths. She felt their hearts beating against her. Loving them and being loved by them was such a beautiful thing.

“Hold on, Meeka,” Reece whispered, surging his hips forward and taking her deep.

Wade did the same, working in tandem with his triad partner. Meeka concentrated on the feel of her men filling her. She could hear their rapid breathing and knew they were close. So was she. It wasn’t going to take much for her to soar. She could feel the spiral of excitement winding tightly within her. It wouldn’t be long now before she reached the ultimate goal of pleasure.

She heard her men growl just before they bit into her shoulders, sinking their canines into their mating marks and reclaiming her once again. The bites threw them all into the abyss.

Their cocks swelled, their mating knots took hold, and Meeka was locked between them, glad to be there, and thankful that she would forever be theirs.

  Chapter 37

Meeka sighed with relief as she kicked off her shoes and sat back against the cushions of the couch. She smiled at Eric as he played with his building blocks on the rug before her.

“We’ll be going to the grocery store with Aunt Suzie in a little while, honey,” she told him, smiling when Eric turned to her, got up and walked over to her.

He leaned against her and rested his head on her belly, giggling softly when his little sister kicked and bounced against his cheek. Meeka laughed softly when Eric looked up at her with an expression of amazement on his face.

“Maizy kicked me, Mommy,” he said happily.

“She sure did,” Meeka agreed. “I think Maizy is going to love teasing her big brother.”

Eric nodded as he petted Meeka’s belly. “Will Maizy be ready to be born soon, Mommy?” he asked her quietly.

“You know something? I think she may be, honey,” Meeka told him honestly. “It could be that we’ll be seeing her sweet face before this weekend.”

The phone rang, making both of them jump at the sound. Eric reached for the receiver and handed it to Meeka. The display showed her that it was Suzie calling. She pressed the button to connect the call without hesitation.

  “Hi, Suzie.”

  “Hey, Meeka.”

“Are you ready to go shopping?”

“Actually, I was going to ask if we could wait a couple of hours,” Suzie told her. “Elizabeth is sleeping and I could sure use a nap.”

Meeka could hear the exhaustion in her best friend’s voice. “Sure, Suzie. Go ahead and take a nap. We don’t have to go shopping today. We can wait.”

“Are you sure, Meeka?” Suzie asked, worried by the last-minute cancellation.

“Not a problem at all,” Meeka assured her. “Go on and get some sleep. Eric and I will go just to pick up some milk and eggs. Do you need anything?”

  “Diapers?”

“Okay. We’ll get diapers and bring them to you later,” Meeka offered. “Go ahead and rest. I’ll talk to you later.”

  “Thanks, Meeka.”

Meeka ended the call and handed the phone to her son. He replaced it in the charger and turned back to her.

“You and I are going to go to the store and get milk and eggs,” she told him. “We need to get Aunt Suzie diapers for Elizabeth, too.”

  “Are we going now, Mommy?”

“Yup. Let’s move, little boy. The quicker we shop, the quicker we can come home and make spaghetti for dinner.”

Eric smiled and reached out to tug on Meeka’s hands, grunting softly as he helped her stand. Meeka laughed softly at her son. He was such a good helper to her. Walking over to the kitchen table, she picked up her purse and dug for the keys to Reece’s truck.

Mates, Eric and I are going to the grocery store.

Are you feeling up to that, baby? Wade’s concerned voice answered at once.

We’ll take you when we get home, Meeka. I’m not sure you should be driving.

Reece, I’m fine to drive. I only have to get milk and eggs for us, and dia
pers for Suzie. I should be home within an hour. Please don’t worry.

I don’t like this, Reece said, growling.

You’re turning into an overprotective bear, Reece, Meeka told him, sighing with exasperation.

I can’t help it, little one, Reece told her gently. I love you.

I love you, too. Now get back to work, and Eric and I will be home before you know it. Wade, keep an eye on him.

Why? He’s a big boy. He can take care of himself, Wade said, laughing.

I know, but I don’t want him to worry. Keep him occupied, Meeka said softly. I don’t want you to worry either, Wade.

Baby, when you’re home in our arms, we’ll stop worrying.

Meeka laughed, sending a wave of love to her mates. They would just have to deal with it. She was more than capable of going to the grocery store.

Reece closed his eyes and took a deep breath, concentrating on the link to Meeka. Wade watched him silently, smiling at his triad partner.

“Are you checking on Meeka?” he asked him.

  “Yes.”

Wade couldn’t help but laugh. “I just did the same thing,” he admitted. “She scolded me to leave her alone so she could finish shopping.”

Reece opened his eyes and looked at Wade, shrugging guiltily. “She just threatened to stop kissing me for two days if I interrupted her again.”

Wade’s bark of laughter filled the garage. “She’s perfect,” he said as he picked up the socket wrench and walked toward the car that was in the first bay of the shop.

  “Yeah, she is,” Reece agreed.

He turned to work on the truck beside him, reaching down to pick up the fender that needed to be put back in place. Just as he was about to lift the panel it slipped and the jagged edge of it sliced into his hand.

“Damn it!” he said through gritted teeth.

“What happened?” Wade asked, walking over to him.

Reece lowered the panel and extended his hand to show Wade the cut across his palm. “I knew that panel had a rough edge,” he said, his voice filled with aggravation.

“You were probably distracted with thoughts of not being kissed for two days,” Wade said, goading him.

  “Wade,” Reece warned him.

  “What?”

“Meeka won’t like it if she finds out you’re standing there busting my ass while I’m bleeding all over the shop floor,” Reece told him smugly. “Then we’ll see who won’t be getting kissed for two days.”

“Reece, what happened to my loyal triad partner?” Wade asked, shaking his head.

“He’s bleeding all over the shop floor while his triad partner is busting his ass,” Reece said calmly.

Wade’s laughter made him smile. When Wade reached out and touched his shoulder, he felt the happiness that filled him. He knew exactly how Wade felt. Everything about their life now was perfect. They had a loving mate, a terrific son, and a beautiful daughter growing within their mate’s womb.

“You’d better shift so you can heal, Reece,” Wade said after he stopped laughing.

Reece nodded and reached up to unzip his coveralls. He toed off his boots then shrugged his clothes from his body. Calling upon his magic, a blue swirl of energy surrounded him and his wolf was released.

Wade stepped forward and knelt down, reaching for Reece’s front paw, glad to see that the injury was completely healed. He smiled down at Reece’s black wolf and pushed at his snout.

“Looks like you’ve got control over your wolf just fine, partner,” he said, laughing softly with relief.

This was further proof that they had both been completely healed from the silver that had poisoned their systems. Reece was able to control his wolf with absolutely no problem. Wade was able to do the same. What once had been so painful and isolating was no longer a part of their lives. Meeka had done that for them. She had given them back the gifts of the shifter world that had been denied them for so long.

Reece pushed his snout against Wade’s leg, growling softly as he caused Wade to lose his balance. Raising his head, he looked up at his triad partner with smug satisfaction. His control was strong. His strength was back to normal, and he loved being able to play once again. He barked once then was surrounded by the blue energy that changed him from wolf to man. He looked at Wade very seriously.

  “What?” Wade asked him.

“Our woman has given us so much,” he said quietly.

Wade nodded. Meeka had given them back their lives. She had given them back their wolves. She had given them a wonderful son and was carrying their beautiful daughter. And she had given them her complete and unconditional love.

Meeka pushed the grocery cart toward Reece’s truck. Eric sat in the seat of the shopping cart, reading the small book that she had bought for him.

“This is a good book, Mommy,” he told her. “Daddy and Poppa will like it, too.”

“Do you think so, baby?” Meeka asked, smiling at the thought of the many times she had watched her mates sit with Eric and read him books. They were such good fathers.

  “Yup.”

Meeka laughed as she pushed the cart up to the truck. She reached out and steadied Eric as he climbed up in the seat and stood, waiting patiently for Meeka to lift him from the cart. When she did, he stood beside the truck as Meeka emptied the cart of the groceries she had bought.

“I guess we bought more than just milk, eggs, and diapers, huh, baby?” she asked, laughing as she lifted the two packed grocery bags and placed them in the back seat of the truck.

  “Mommy.”

  “What, baby?”

  “Mommy.”

The fear in Eric’s voice made Meeka turn around quickly to look at him. What she saw made her grip the grocery cart to steady herself. She reached forward to take her son into her arms, panicking when the man she had never expected to see again gathered Eric against his chest and took a step away from her.

  “Hello, Mikayla.”

  Chapter 38

“Ethan,” Meeka whispered, horrified to see the man who had cause her unimaginable pain and suffering. And he had her son. Anger filled her.

  “Give me my son.”

She saw that the strength and demand in her voice surprised Ethan. Well, she wasn’t the shy, meek little mouse that she had been when he had ordered her killed.

“Mikayla, when are you going to learn that nothing you say or do is of any importance?” Ethan asked her, pulling Eric closer to him as the boy tried to wiggle from his arms. “Stay put, boy! I’ll snap your neck right here and now if you move again. Don’t do anything stupid or make any noise, Meeka. I don’t need this half-breed to get what I want. I’ll toss his body away without blinking.”

Eric’s hazel eyes filled with tears as he looked at his mother. “Mommy,” he whispered. “I want to go home.”

“Me, too, baby,” Meeka said gently. Unable to help it, she reached out and tried to take Eric from Ethan, fisting her hands tightly as Ethan moved back so she couldn’t touch her son. “What do you want, Ethan?”

“I first thought I would eliminate you and him,” Ethan said, laughing softly. “But then I thought that this boy could give me an opportunity to get rid of more that just the two of you.”

Meeka didn’t say a word. She only knew that she had to get Eric out of Ethan’s arms.

Ethan Webber is at the grocery store! He just grabbed Eric!

Meeka! Reece’s voice was filled with panic.

We’re on our way, baby, Wade told her. I’ll call Jace to call together the enforcers.

“You’re not taking my son,” Meeka said calmly, anger lacing her voice as she faced the man who had caused her such pain. She reached out for her son. She was not going to allow this man to hurt him.

When she was about to scream out for help, he growled at her, his eyes flashing bright as his wolf pushed forward. She was suddenly reminded of the cruelty he had shown her just four years before. There was not one bit of care or tenderness in anything he had ever shared with he
r. He had been cold, heartless, and brutal. He had ordered her death without a thought or a moment of guilt. He was a true sociopath.

“Go ahead and scream, Mikayla,” Ethan said softly. “I like it when they scream.”

“Someone will come and stop you,” she said, doing her best to keep the fear from her voice. She wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of knowing that she feared him.

“They can come,” he said, growling and opening his mouth to bare his teeth. “But by the time they get close enough, this abomination’s throat will be ripped out.”

Meeka closed her mouth tightly. She knew that despite the many people in the parking lot, Ethan’s shifter speed and strength would easily overpower any of the humans around them. And Eric would be dead.

She reached out and tried to touch her little boy’s head to reassure him, but Ethan grabbed for her wrist, tightening his hold on her before he pushed her back and kicked the cart from between them. He pushed her back with a hard shove. She slammed her head against the side of the truck, stunned momentarily from the impact.

His cruel laughter made her skin crawl, but what was worse was the soft whimper of fear that she heard coming from her little boy. When Ethan began pulling her along with him, she went without a struggle. All that mattered was that she remained with her son. And she would make sure to do whatever it took to deflect Ethan’s anger from her baby boy.

Ethan walked them over to his rental car and opened the back door, pushing her inside and slamming the door closed. Walking to the driver’s door, he pulled it open and threw Eric across the front seat.

“Stay put, boy,” he demanded. “Don’t say one word.” He climbed behind the wheel and started the car. “You give me one bit of trouble and I’ll kill him right now, Mikayla.”

The warning was clear. Meeka wasn’t about to defy him. Her head was swimming from the slam against the side of the truck. She concentrated on taking deep breaths as nausea filled her and her stomach tightened with what she hoped was only false labor.

I’m in the car with Ethan. I don’t know where he’s taking us.
