Love Me Like You Do (Love Me Book 1) Page 16

by Jaime Russell

“Sally, I am taking the time off, but I’m spending my day in between appointments to reschedule them. All I’m asking is that you do them same. Besides, if people come into book then, I would do that, but you have meetings with clients already set up.”

“They are new customers so you can do it for me.” Her badgering worked, and I give in to her request. I hang up on her and throw my phone onto the couch. I wish I had one of those phones we had growing up so I could slam the phone down and she’d get the message of how I feel about her at that moment. Sally calls me back, and I ignore it. Jenny calls about two minutes later while I’m still fuming with the conversation with my sisters.

  “Jenny.”

“Good morning, Cash.” She’s coughing loudly into the receiver.

“What’s the matter? You don’t sound like yourself.”

“I have this horrible cold and your sister pissed me off.”

“You called her to ask about taking today off, and she refused because she’s taking the day off?”

  “How did you know?”

“We just got into a fight about it. She tricked me into saying that I would only take appointments today if they were new appointments. I have to try to do my work and hers. She made a comment about me taking off and having to pick up my slack. I’m not taking time off, just rescheduling things.”

“Sometimes I wish she would quit or, at least, get an attitude adjustment.”

“I thought about talking to her about stuff like this, but she’s so damn good at her job. People seek her out.”

“I know.” Jenny’s coughing gets worse. “I’ll see you in an hour.”

  “Jenny stay home today.”

“You need help with Sally not being there.”

  “I can handle it.”

“No, you can’t. I’ve seen both of your schedules. You both are busy.”

“Jenny, I’ll call Shawn in to answer the phone. He can’t work in the kitchen right now so he can do this for me.”

“What?” Jenny asks, and I explain about the fight. She tries not to laugh and fails miserably, provoking another coughing fit. “Oh then if you have help, could I take a couple of days that the doctor suggested?”

“Jenny, take all the time you need,” I reassure her. She fills me on the most important duties that need to be completed before we hang up. I send a quick text to Shawn letting him know that Jenny is very ill and I need him to help out. He responds back with a typed out eye roll, begrudgingly agreeing to help. I stand to look out the window thinking about this hotel. Can I keep going like this? Will Sally ever respect me?

Abby had once asked how is it that I’m always an asshole to everyone but her, and the answer is this shit that I’m dealing with right here.

I realize I’ve been on the phone for five minutes, and Abby is still in the bathroom. I knock on the door and wait for her to reply. When she doesn’t answer, I open the door and notice that she’s laying in the bathtub with her beautiful hair in a bun.

“Are you just going to stand there or are you going to join me?” she asks when I stand to stare at her from the doorway. I take off my boxers and climb into the tub behind her. We lay there enjoying the quiet and being with each other without any drama. She breaks the silence first. “Wanna talk about it?”

“No, I don’t. I want to enjoy this time with you while I can. I have to get to work soon to cover for Sally since she isn’t coming in today.”

“I’m sorry.” Abby slowly starts to turn around. She looks at me with desire in her eyes, leaning in to kiss me. Her hands wander down to my semi hard cock, she wraps her hand around me and moves up and down at a steady pace. I close my eyes, moan and put my head back. I’m enjoying the feel of her hands on me. She leans in and starts kissing my neck, nibbling on my ear. I feel her warm breath on my neck and with her hands on me, I’m going crazy. “Abby, I need to be inside you now,” I demand, knowing that if she keeps going, I’m going to come hard and fast. She gives me an innocent as she positions herself above me. I tell her to just slowly lower herself, and I’d guide her the rest of the way. When I feel her pussy right at the tip of me, I lift my hips and push into her. She screams and I immediately stop. “Are you ok? Did I hurt you?” She shakes her head yes and then no and admits that I took her by surprise. I nod and give her body a minute to adjust to me being inside her. She nods when she’s ready, and I don’t hold back.

I don’t know what happened, but his eyes have an effect on me. I want to show him a few tricks that I learned from reading my romance novels. I’ve only had two boyfriends and Gregg is the only one that I’d been intimate with, leaving me inexperienced. I feel him growing inside me, and I wait until the pain of adjusting to him passes. I move my hips in a slow circular movement, leaning whispers in his ear. “Lay back, enjoy the ride.” I start out slow and then pick up the pace a little bit. My hands move to my breasts, and I massage them, taking my nipples and rolling them through my fingers. His lustful stare as he watches me has me moving my hips faster and faster.

He leans forwards and brushes my hands aside, drawing my nipple into his mouth. My head falls back as he sucks and nibbles on me; my hips grind faster. “I can feel you squeezing my cock; you’re so close. Just let it go! Just let everything go!” As he says those words, he thrust deep up in me, hitting my sweet spot. I arch my back as Cash pulls out to slam into me one last time as we both find our release together. I grab the back of his neck and pull his lips to mine. We’re both panting as I lay on his chest. I shiver. “Let’s go back to bed,” he suggests as he feels the chill run through my body.

As we come out of the bathroom, I feel like nothing can touch us while we’re in this room, our sanctuary. We drop our towels on the floor and crawl into bed. I don’t know what it is about this man, but I’m confident. I don’t feel like the “Fat Cow” that I was always called. Being with him is perfect and as much as I want to stay just as we are all day, I know that we can’t. The outside world was creeping its way back in.

“So what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?” he asks me as he kisses my temple.

“How I wish you didn’t have to work today so we could just stay in bed.”

“I was just thinking about that too. I was hoping that I could have been out of there by two but with Sally and Jenny both out, I’m looking at six the earliest.”

  “Jenny and Sally?”

“Yeah Jenny is very ill and has a doctor’s excuse for a few days and Sally wants to spend time with her in-laws. I’m covering her meetings and mine. Shawn is going answer phones since he can’t cook.”

“Do you need my help with anything? I don’t think we have anything planned until lunch time.”

“You, my love, are on vacation.” He reminds me as he taps my nose.

“I know that, but if you need me, I can help. Sarah might even help.”

“I could never ask that of you.”

“Guess what? You didn’t ask; I volunteered.”

“I would get to spend all morning with you. If you don’t mind, I would love that but do you have something other than a t-shirt and jean shorts to wear?”

“I have my bathing suit,” I say laughing because the dirty look that I got was worth it. “Yes, I have nice clothes. I’ll go down and change. Want to meet me for breakfast in the dining room?”

“I would love that. I’ll get us a table. I need to run to my office to check out the schedule for Sally, so I can show you what’s going on today. Let’s make it fifteen minutes.”

“Sounds like a plan.” We head out the door and down the elevator. He kisses me goodbye when we reach my room and then he leaves for his office. I’m hoping not to walk in on Max and Sarah as I quietly open the door and poke my head inside. I breathe a sigh of relief, Sarah is in one bed, and Max is in the other. I tiptoe into the room, but Sarah is a light sleeper and stirs.

  “Well?” she asks, yawning.

“Oh, my God, it was amazing. We talke
d, kissed, and had sex twice this morning. I can’t even describe what it was like, Sarah. It was that damn good.”

“What are you doing?” She notices that I’m pulling out a pair of my capris and a nice top.

“I’m going to spend my morning helping Cash because Sally called off and Jenny is sick and is under doctor’s care. I told him that we didn’t have anything planned for this morning so it shouldn’t be a problem for me to help out.”

“That’s sweet of you. Want my help?” Sarah offers as she sits down on the couch.

“That would be great. I know he said that he has a lot to do today and Shawn being one-handed is a real issue.”

“What happened there?” I tell her the story about the fight and Cash’s reaction to it. We giggle, trying to keep it down, so we don’t wake Max. He’s a grouch if he doesn’t get his beauty sleep. I get dressed as we catch up, Sarah decides on something to wear and heads to the bathroom to change.

“I’m meeting Cash for breakfast in two minutes,” I call after her. “Text me when you’re done with breakfast so I can let you know where to meet us.” Looking at my phone while waiting for the elevator, I notice some emails from my parents. I delete them without bothering to open them; I’m not going to let them ruin this vacation for me. I can’t wait to see where Cash works and what he does every day. I wave to the front desk girl as I walk by and spotting Cash, join him and Shawn at their table.

“Hi, guys.” I lean down to kiss Cash.

  “Hello, beautiful.”

“Where’s my kiss?” Shawn asks pouting. I roll my eye as I sit down. A waiter immediately appears to take my order.

“I’m sure Cash would love to fulfill that for you,” I say as I sip my water.

“Nope, that’s okay. I’m good. So you ready to work for this horrible man?” Shawn teases as the waiter delivers our meal. Sarah joins us with a round of good mornings as she orders her breakfast.

“I’m excited to see what he does all day. I’m a teacher, pretty sure you guys know what I do.”

“It is going to be a lot of bridezillas. I have met a few of them, and they’re crazy.” Shawn tells us stories about some of the clients that he’d met, amusing and horrifying us at some of their actions.

“Abby, if I ever get married please, I beg of you, don’t let me be a bridezilla,” Sarah pleads, wiping the tears from her eyes from laughing so hard.

“Sarah you will never be one because your mom will be a momzilla and won’t share the spotlight,” I tell her and she nods in full agreement.

“Well I hate to break this up, but we have fifteen minutes before the first appointment, and I need to show you two the computer program,” Cash announces pulling some bills from his wallet to leave for a tip. He holds my hand as we walk back to the offices. He opens up his office first and then opens Sally’s. Shawn comes to the door just as Cash turns on the computer.

“Umm just to let you know, Jenny is here and yelled at me for being in her chair. She’s also coughing up a lung.” Shawn fills us in.

“I’ll be right back. Just bring up the calendar and look at these files. I believe they are the ones for today. I need to go fire Jenny until she’s better.” Cash follows Shawn out the door. Sarah and I review the files to understand better how Sally does things.

  CASH

“Jenny go home, or you’re fired,” I say as I come out of the office. “I have plenty of help. If there’s some disaster, I’ll call you. I promise.” I pull her up from the office chair and push her down the hall. “Shawn’s going to answer the phone, and I have Abby and Sarah here to help me.”

“I just feel bad with Sally flaking on you,” Jenny answers as soon as she stops coughing.

“I got this handled. I need you to get better for next week because it will be nonstop with long hours. So go rest and come back on Monday.” I kiss her forehead. She’s burning up. “Do I need to call your husband?”

“No, he’s outside waiting for me. He knew that you would send me on my way. I hate that he’s right,” Jenny complains as she leaves. I go back to the office area to find Sarah, Abby, and Shawn standing there talking. “Do you two understand what’s going on?”

“I think so. We do have a couple of questions.” Sarah tells me as she holds up the folders. Taking a seat in my office, we begin discussing the appointments. We decide to tackle the first meeting to give them an idea of how to answer some of the questions that may arise. Sally calls the main line expecting to speak to Jenny and is surprised when Shawn answers the phone. I sigh and head back to my office to look over my schedule while speaking to her.

“What do you want, Sally?” My tone is less than friendly. I bet she will be calling a lot today knowing that I have two people working in her place.

“There’s no need to be so rude to me. I’m calling to talk to you about the schedule for tomorrow as well. I’m going to be off until Monday.”

“No.” I need this conversation over with so new customers don’t hear me yelling at my sister.

“Yes, I am. I never get time off unless I’m pregnant, and I’m going out of town with Matt’s brother and his family.”

“Sally, there is less than a week before our big New Year’s Eve party. You are my party planner, and I have things that need my attention. I can’t be doing your job, my job and Jenny’s job. You take vacations all the time, weekend getaways with your husband. Remember I’m your babysitter and house sitter. I need you here.”

“I will give you the weekend off, and I’ll cover you, but you need to be here Monday because of the prep that still needs to be done for the party. I can’t do it. You have that paperwork.” I tell her putting my head down on my desk. I’m exhausted, and we haven’t started my day.

“All the information is on my computer, in a folder on the desktop titled N.Y.E just in case I don’t make it in,” She tells me.

“Sally, you are coming back on Monday right?” I sit up straight in my chair impatiently waiting for her response.

“Yes, of course. I’m just letting you know if you want to look at it. I need to go.”

“Bye, have fun.” I slam the phone down out of frustration with Sally.

“Sally won’t be back in until Monday.” Abby comes over and sits on my lap. Her arms circle my neck, and she kisses me.

“We’ll handle it. You don’t need her while I’m in town. I have your back,” she says with a smile on her face.

“How did I get so lucky to have you?”

“Well, you have the man at the front desk to thank. If it wasn’t for him getting you online, we would have never met,” she replies, and I laugh.

“Don’t forget the two of them out that door and their scheming to get us to meet. I will have to make sure to thank them later. Do you think I have time to get inside you?” She moans and shakes her head. There’s a knock on the door, and Sarah walks in.

“Sorry to disturb you two but there’s a couple here who had an appointment with Sally.”

“You have horrible timing; you know that right?” I tell her as I stand up. Abby had scooted off my lap fast when she heard the knock on the door.

Sarah waves her hand, dismissing my comment. “I’ve been told that before so it’s nothing new.”

The morning goes by in a blur. I stop working every so often when I hear Abby’s laugh find what was going on.

“You hungry, baby?” Abby is in front of my desk with lunch for us. She set down two plates of burgers and fries.

“Is it lunch time already?” She nods, taking a bite of her burger.

“I figured that you weren’t paying attention to the time. Joan told me what you like for lunch. We’ve been busy today, but I wanted to steal some time with you.”

“I might have to hire you so that I can have lunch with you all the time. How are the meetings going on your end?”

She holds up a finger as she chews. “They’re going pretty well. Some of the women already know what they want and how they want it. We did tell them th
at we’re just filling in like you suggested, and they were fine with it. We showed them around and explained the final preparations will need to be done with Sally. She’s going to have a busy two weeks. We were looking over her schedule for tomorrow, and it isn’t too bad.”

“Abby, you don’t need to do that. I would love to work with you again but would never expect you to work on your vacation. You’ve done more than enough helping me out today.”

“We don’t mind. The guys are still sleeping. Sarah and I would have been at the beach or the pool. We enjoyed talking to people from here. What’s the plan for tonight?”

“I was thinking about dinner at Nic’s bar so you can meet her. She’s going to love you.”

“I didn’t know Nic is a girl.” She sounds jealous.

“Yeah her name is Nicceara. She’s in love with Shawn and vice versa, but neither one will admit it. Are you jealous, my love?”

“Yes,” She says bluntly, glancing up as Sarah marches in.

“Okay, boss, there’s a lady out there who’s demanding to talk to Sally and only Sally. Here’s her file.” I take the file from her. Robin. I roll my eyes.

“She isn’t supposed to be here. It was in our contract that the wedding planner was only to deal with us. Excuse me for a minute.” I get up and go out to the lobby. “Robin, Sally will be in on Monday. What are you doing here?”

“Cash, how was your Christmas?” Robin says in a sweet and innocent voice. I roll my eyes and look at Shawn.

“My Christmas was amazing. What are you doing here?” I demand.

“I need to talk to Sally. My wedding planner quit.” Robin’s eyes look to the floor.

“Well, I’ll make a note in the account. Have your new wedding planner contact Sally next week.” I turn to walk away, but she doesn’t stop there.

“I don’t have a new wedding planner. I can’t find anyone. So Sally will be doing it all.” She starts to walk away.

“I’ll have the accountant send you a check for the amount minus the nonrefundable deposit.”
