Aeron wouldn’t have wanted to be Nicky right now, but at least Nysys had left him and Jericho alone. Aeron looped his arms around Jericho’s neck and smiled at him. “All right?”
“Yeah.”
Someone tapped Aeron’s shoulder and he turned. Trevor handed him a gift. “For Jericho.”
“Thanks.”
Aeron handed Jericho his gift and Jericho blinked at it. “For me?”
“Yep.”
“But... they hate me.”
“They don’t. They might not like you very much yet, but you’re still family, and family takes care of each other.”
Aeron looked around the room. The pride was peaceful again. Everyone was opening gifts, talking and laughing. Nysys was apparently trying to strangle Nicky, and a laughing André was pulling him away. Ani was sitting in Dominic’s lap feeding him cookies while Dominic talked with Delevan. Jamie was poking at Keenan’s thigh with his foot while Keenan pouted over the simple white shirt he’d just taken out of a colorful wrapping. Shad was glaring at Nysys, a rainbow dildo still half-wrapped in his hands.
They were a family, and they were finally safe. Aeron couldn’t have asked for anything more for Christmas.
