Even though they hadn’t truly met, but the numerous encounters Zhong Yue had with the traitor gave him a very clear understanding on how sly and cunning the traitor was. For Lei Hong to be the traitor and exposed so easily, something didn’t feel right there.
But, if Lei Hong wasn’t the celestial messenger, then why would he attempt to kill Elder Feng Shouzhu, and who could force him to eliminate Feng Wuji?
For someone like Lei Hong, whose prowess was nearly at the grade of magnates, who could ever force him to do something he didn’t want to?
“When the old man heard about it, he only said a sentence, ”Gu Hongzi sighed, and said, “He said, ‘Lei Hong’s vision was clouded with the desire to hold high powers, he was just a silly child’.”
“Silly child? The old man said that Lei Hong’s desire for power was too strong and that he was just a silly child, is this a comment to describe the celestial messenger? The celestial messenger is indeed hungry for power, but he is definitely not a silly child!”
Zhong Yue’s heart skipped a beat, and a chill was sent down his spine, he said, “This is the real example of ‘The dead cannot testify’! Oh yes, senior martial brother, where was Shui Qingyan after Lei Hong’s death?”
“Shui Qingyan? Who is that?” Gu Hongzi asked, puzzled.
One after another, thoughts flooded through Zhong Yue’s mind. If Lei Hong was really the celestial messenger hidden in Swords Gate, then he would be the one that was talking to Shui Qingyan. With the celestial messenger’s death, Shui Qingyan would not dare to linger in Swords Gate anymore, she would surely run away. After all, Shui Qingyan’s true identity was the Tian Myriad Mother, she was released by the celestial messenger from the Demon Ruins, and was ordered to possess Shui Qingyan’s mortal body!
Tian Myriad Mother would surely run away in fear of getting exposed. But if she continued staying in Swords Gate, then it would mean Lei Hong was nothing more than a scapegoat pushed out by the real celestial messenger!
Zhong Yue took in a breath of deep air, he thought, To know if the real celestial messenger is dead or not, I’ll just have to find out whether if Tian Myriad Mother is still in Swords Gate! Seems like there is a need for me to go back to Swords Gate!
This period of time was destined to be an era of chaos and disorder. In just one month, an innate spirit body holder had fallen in Swords Gate, and two of Shi Buyi’s disciples had died.
These soul weapons, I can’t bring them all, what should I do with them? Zhong Yue looked at the soul weapons he brought back and was cracking his head to find a solution.
He has acquired these soul weapons with the identity of Long Yue, he could not use them in his true identity of Zhong Yue, or his secret would be exposed. Hence, it would be an issue for him to store these soul weapons.
Why don’t I just send this Wu Yang River to the Singing Goose Mountain? With this river surrounding the mountain and the steep topography of the mountain itself, I can place an attack-defense array formation on Singing Goose Mountain. Although I have my own territory, and my own monastery on the Falcon Ridge, others cancome and go as they like, that doesn’t look like the territory of a lord.
However, with this river and these soul weapons, I can forge my territory into my own heavily guarded kingdom. Once I’ve built it, it can be the saint land for those living in my territory!
Chapter 250: Saint Mountain's Master Monastery |
A sanctuary and a powerful lord was the basis of a territory’s worshipping power. A territory with strong power, but no sanctuary, would not be able to raise the morale of the citizens in it, making it difficult to gather spiritual power. A territory with a sanctuary, but without a strong lord, would not be able to last long. Thus, the only way to form a powerful faction was through having both a sanctuary and a strong lord.
One example would be Gu Xia City. The godly spirit, along with Gu Hongzi and a huge castle, allowed the city to remain standing for a long time. If Gu Xia City did not have a strong lord, then everyone would stand up and fight for the position of the city lord, spreading the flame of war across the territory, and the citizens in the city would be afraid and worried. With that, the citizens would only worry about themselves and they would no longer pray and worship the godly spirit. After a long period of not being prayed and worshipped to, the godly spirit would fade away, and Gu Xia City would fall.
Therefore, if Zhong Yue wanted to stand his ground firmly in the East Barren, he would need more than just himself and his territory, he would need an existence strong enough to replace him at times when he was not present!
Thus he wanted to build Yanming Mountain into a saint mountain and move the master monastery there, allowing the people under his rule to worship him.
The Falcon Ridge was too small. Yanming Mountain was closer to Gu Xia City and the mountain was very steep and dangerous, yet looked almighty at the same time, making it to a good place to build his monastery at.
After returning to Falcon Ridge, Zhong Yue was a little shocked as he saw a golden temple with many huge structures surrounding it had appeared in Falcon Ridge.
Many of the palaces were yet to be fully built, and the many humans and monsters under his rule worked hard carving and building long and tall pillars.
There was also a pretty girl sitting in front of a palace as she supervised the work of the humans and monsters, while another few girls were drawing various attractive totem carvings as they said something to a few foremen.
The pretty girl was the dragon lady, Yu Chili. When she saw Zhong Yue from afar, she immediately walked towards him and greeted him with “Master!”
Zhong Yue nodded to return her greeting, and said in awe, “This is the master monastery you built?”
Yu Chili nodded and replied with a smile, “If Master’s men were a little bit stronger, the monastery would have been fully built long ago. Master, I destroyed your monastery so I will rebuild another one for you, are you satisfied with this one?”
Originally, she was not happy to serve Zhong Yue, but after exchanging a blow with him, she was completely impressed by him, leading her to willingly listen to his orders. After telling her that he wanted to have his monastery rebuilt, Yu Chili really did build another for him. This one was much better than Zhong Yue’s expectations by a few hundred times as it looked just like a dragon palace!
“Satisfied, I am extremely satisfied!”
Zhong Yue replied happily, “And who are those girls over there?”
“Those are sisters from the Yu Chi Clan.”
Yu Chili laughed and said, “It was a little bit difficult for me to build such a huge monastery alone, thus, I contacted my clan and they were sent here to help build this monastery.”
She then called the three dragon ladies up. The three dragon ladies greeted him with bows, “Greetings, Master Yue. We are Yu Chifang, Yu Chifeng, and Yu Chijing.”
Yu Chijing laughed and said, “Master, we have long heard of your fame, but we only got to meet you in person today. We sisters thought that Master was an old man, but little did we know that our Master is almost as young as we are.”
Zhong Yue replied, surprised, “You have all heard of my name?”
The three dragon ladies looked at each other and said, “Master’s doing in the dragon city have been spread all across the Eastern Sea, how could we not know that? Many of the dragon disciples are incredibly grateful for Master’s speech about the【Soaring Dragon Hundred Forms】!”
As they talked, Zhong Yue felt something and when he looked up into the skies, he saw a river flowing towards them in the air, along with a little boat. The river flowing in the air then connected to the river closest to Zhong Yue and the others, allowing the little boat to stop at the dock as Qing He, Long Chun’er, and the other girls jumped down from the boat.
Although Zhong Yue was stalled around the border of Gu Xia City for quite some time, the girls had not managed to catch up with him as their strength restricted their speed.
“Maste
r, the precious items were given to us by the other factions were all sold and exchanged for spirit herbs and pellets.”
Qing He then walked up and said, “Should I hand them over to Master now?”
Zhong Yue shook his head and replied, “I am about to move to Yanming Mountain and build my own saint mountain there, we shall decide the other things once we get there.”
“Moving to Yanming Mountain?”
Yu Chili quickly asked, “But the monastery…”
Before she could finish her question, a loud noise was heard and the entire Falcon Ridge started to tremble vigorously as the entire ridge detached from the ground, flying up into the skies and turning in the direction of Yanming Mountain!
Yu Chili had a scare and so did the other girls. They quickly looked down towards the bottom of the mountain, only to find hundreds of Jiao Dragons appearing at the bottom of the ridge. Each looking terrifyingly realistic, with their scales shining brightly in the reflected sunlight, their muscles moving as they flexed, their blood pumping through their veins!
These Jiao Dragons were as large as a few hundred meters long, which seemingly granted them the tremendous strength to carry the entire Falcon Ridge into the air and fly towards Yanming Mountain!
Zhong Yue was hovering in midair with his arms half stretched out as all of Falcon Ridge flew towards Yanming Mountain. From how the dragons carried the ridge and flew towards Yanming Mountain, it felt like the dragons were the ones doing the job, but in truth, it was Zhong Yue who was doing the job because these Jiao Dragons were all formed by his psyche and power.
The men building the monastery watched this scene in awe and shock, then looked at Zhong Yue as if he was a god with new respect.
The Falcon Ridge flying in the sky created a shadow covering about a ten mile radius. When looked at from below, it was just like a huge dark cloud covering the sun with hundreds of Jiao Dragons dancing under the cloud, creating a marvelous scene.
Basically, any Qi Practitioners could carry items as heavy as hundred thousand tons, but to be able to carry a huge mountain, it would be way too difficult for them. A mountain like the Falcon Ridge was about at least a million tons!
And only those that possessed truly supernatural strength could do this!
---
In Gu Xia City, all of the monster Qi Practitioners were all shell-shocked upon seeing this feat!
Gu Hongzi too, stood at the city walls as he looked at the stunt pulled of by Zhong Yue while an Inner Core level Qi Practitioner standing beside him praised, “Eastern Sea’s Long Yue is indeed very powerful, for he can move mountains with his brute strength! City lord, I’ve received news that upon returning from Eastern Sea, Master Long Yue fought his way here and slew all of his pursuers. Among them were a few dozen Atman Body level Qi Practitioners. Now, his name has shaken the entire Xian Kong Saint City greatly, and many of the strong factions are now very fond of him as they intend to build a good relationship with him, while the smaller factions gifted him with precious items in order to relieve their strained relationship with him.”
Another Inner Core level Qi Practitioner then frowned and said, “But he is, after all, a dragon. He may have the blood of we monsters, but I’m afraid that he is a spy sent by the dragons. Besides, there are traces of dragons in his territory already. Shouldn’t we suppress him by a little so that he will not be able to threaten your place, my lord?”
Gu Hongzi looked at the scene created by Zhong Yue peacefully and he replied with a shake of his head, “The majority of the older generations of Gu Xia City have been bribed and recruited by Shi Buyi, greatly thinning our power, and we are in need of fresh blood now. At the rate Long Yue is progressing, he will soon rise as a figure strong enough to be the new pillar of Gu Xia City. In the future, if I happen to pass away for some reason, he will be the new lord and all of you have to assist him. You guys have followed me since the beginning and are all my loyal supporters. With the good relationship between the two of us, he will definitely not treat you badly in the future.”
The monster Qi Practitioners around Gu Hongzi were shocked and they quickly said, “What do you mean by that, milord!? Why are you acting so negatively suddenly?”
Back then when Gu Hongzi was still a nobody, these monster Qi Practitioners were already following him. He slowly rose in power and after killing his own father and usurping his father’s position, these Qi Practitioners took a major role in events.
Gu Hongzi then shook his head and remembered the old man in Swords Gate. He thought silently, In my heart, there’s only one father, him. If he died, my wild ambition will be unleashed and I will start to invade the other factions to gain more power. But how could I watch him die as I do nothing?
If there was no him, there wouldn't be me. He treated me like a son and in return, I will treat him and respect him as my father!
I will use my body, my life, my soul to repay my debt to him for him raising me up to become who I am today! That fight in the future will definitely be a ferocious one and the results are very vague…
------
When Falcon Ridge flew to the top of Yanming Mountain, it stopped at the largest and tallest mountain in the center of the mountainous area, while a sword Qi flew out from Falcon Ridge, slicing towards the mountain peak.
Boom!
The mountain peak was sliced away, and the huge toad Yuan Shen opened up its six eyes, shooting six bright rays towards the severed mountain peak, evaporating it into dust.
Then, the toad Yuan Shen breathed out a cold wind, blowing away the debris and exposing the smooth area created after the mountain peak was sliced off.
Hong long...
The Falcon Ridge descended slowly, landing accurately in the smoothed area, causing the mountain under it to tremble vigorously, and pressing the mountain deeper into the ground by ten feet!
Those Jiao Dragons carrying the mountain remained in the space in between the two mountains. Suddenly their totem carvings changed, and they turned into fiery Jiao Dragons, melting the area where the two mountains connected to merge them together!
TheJiao Dragons then flew out from the mountain. They all landed around the surface of the mountain, and when their dragon-shaped totem carvings shone brightly, they disappeared into the mountain.
After that, many dragon totem carvings could be seen all over the surface of the mountain, all intercepting each other randomly, yet seemingly organized in some mysterious way.
And at the same time, from the palace standing at the mountaintop came countless more dragon totem carvings! They then shot into the mountain, as Zhong Yue was using his own power to continue strengthening the totem carvings formed around the surface of the mountain and turn it into a saint mountain!
With everything done by Zhong Yue, the originally greatest mountain among the other mountains in the Yanming Mountains was even larger and taller now!
---
“I’m afraid that with his capabilities, Master Long Yue will take another few years of time in order to cultivate his mountain into a saint mountain.”
On the city walls, Gu Hongzi suddenly said, “Let us lend him a hand!”
His followers bowed obediently and flew towards Yanming Mountain with Gu Hongzi. When they arrived at the top of Yanming Mountain, they all turned into their original forms.
In an instant, the top of Yanming Mountain was surrounded by huge beasts. Each started to sing a song in a unique yet mysterious way as they cut a small wound around their wrists, showering the huge mountain created by Zhong Yue with their blood.
The blood of these Inner Core and Heavenly Dharma level Qi Practitioners then merged with the dragon totem carvings created by Zhong Yue, rendering them even more detailed and clearer, while huge totem carvings of beasts appeared within the dragon totem carvings!
The scene at that time was incredibly marvelous. After a few days, the beasts stopped supplying their blood to strengthen the power of the dragon totem carvings as they stopped singing. It was
not easy even for them to continue strengthening the totem carvings for such a long time.
“Thank you for your help, Long Yue will remember this deep in my heart!” Zhong Yue bowed as he thanked them for their help.
“You are most welcome!” the huge beasts flying in the sky called back.
Zhong Yue did not rest at all, visualizing another few hundred Jiao Dragons to move the Wuyang River and placing it around the huge mountain!
Then, he brought the lunar chakram here and hung it up in the sky. As the chakram ascended into the air, it looked like a real lunar moon. Below the chakram was the newly built monastery that looked extremely majestic!
Chapter 251: Array Formation |
How difficult would it be to build a saint mountain, refining the mountain itself and surrounding it with Heavenly Dharma soul weapons isn’t enough.
Zhong Yue studied the Singing Goose Mountain. After a few days of refinement, the mountain now had a new look. Even so, it was still nowhere close to something like Gu Xia City, not to mention the real holy lands like Xian Kong Saint City or Swords Gate.
Places like Gu Xia City could only be achieved after thousands of years of establishment, with generation after generation of hard work strengthening it. However, Zhong Yue didn’t have any of that.
Hence, he didn’t think to compete with them. All he was asking for was to establish a good foundation so that one day his territory could really be developed into a holy land.
Zhong Yue took out the other soul weapons he had plundered. Most of them were the soul weapons of the Atman Body experts he had killed.
Other than these, there were the soul weapons of the Xiao Mang Celestial experts, and Lian Xin and Chi Liannu’s Heavenly Dharma soul weapons.
Although the Heavenly Dharma soul weapons were strong, Zhong Yue couldn’t wield them at all. He could only use the Atman Body soul weapons. If he wielded the Inner Core soul weapons, he could only unleash thirty to forty percent of their powers.
Zhong Yue was going to use these soul weapons, the Wu Yang River, the bright moon, and the totem pillars to construct an array formation on the mountain, and make it an impregnable fortress.
