Inna Petraro laughed. “Kovach is already writing the story and wants movie rights.”
“Make that two psychotic authors,” Edward Murphy muttered. “Should’ve killed him when I had the chance,” he sighed. “Actually, I can’t believe Eielson got off so easy.”
Mira Nikolic looked at him from her chair. “How do you mean?”
Edward never looked up from the blanket. “Our Sean’s a medieval character. The last guy who raised a hand to a child, or a woman, wound up in several worlds of hurt.”
Athena nodded. “Including whatever world Pointy-Ears came from.”
Galadren smiled. “Middle Earth?”
“Listen, you—”
“Athena,” Mira interrupted, “allow me.” She looked around Athena. “Galadren?”
His ears perked up. “Yes, my lady?”
“How did you get to… here? You do not live here, do you?”
“Oh, no, my lady, I live in the land of the Queens.”
Even Edward balked. “You live in Queens?”
Galadren nodded. “It has been called that.”
Inna raised a brow, catching on. “How did you get from Queens to here?”
“I rode.”
Inna glanced at Mira, who smiled. Inna asked, “Do you have a…warrant…to ride?”
He nodded, and produced from… somewhere (he had no pockets they could see, and he had left his quiver in the car)…a driver’s license.
“Galahad Wren, nice name,” Inna said, passing the license to Mira. “Do you know…Mira’s Ranger…from somewhere?”
Galadren blinked, his thoughts falling somewhere else. “I am…certain he is familiar, because we are both of the same heart, kinsmen dedicated to fighting evil.”
Inna smiled. She looked at Athena and waved her over. Marcowitz bent her long frame and Petraro whispered in her ear, “Sean mentioned a stuntman on his last set who was as good as he was, if not better. He was buried alive under some rubble after an on-set explosion, and he was never… right… afterwards.”
Athena cocked an eyebrow. “Which movie set?”
The agent smiled. “Look at him and guess.”
Mira handed Galadren his license. “You said you wanted to serve?”
His eyes lit up. “More than anything, my lady.”
She smiled. “I am soon going into the West, Galadren. Would you like to come?”
“I would be honored.”
Inna grinned. “Athena, how many people work for Sean A.P. Ryan & Associates?”
“I suppose that Boyle guy Sean wants to adopt, so four total. Why, you think…” She looked at Galadren and laughed. “Wow, this is gonna get weird.”
“'Going to'?”
