“Tell me it’s in the old wing,” she begged, caught up in the excitement of the moment.
“You know it.”
Chapter Six
The ride back to the Menger took less time, according to the dashboard clock, but it felt much longer. Probably because at the end of the ride he’d finally have Cicely alone. They spoke only a little, and when he looked over, her eyes were closed, her hands limp in her lap. Determined to be a gentleman for her, he decided to let her rest tonight.
He could make love to her tomorrow, and the next day, so long as she’d agree to come to California with him. And he would do everything in his power to ensure she did. Short of kidnapping of course. What Francisco had done, for whatever reason he’d done it, had been just the act the police needed to close him down. Aron McCoy had hooked Corbin up with the local firefighters who had agreed to help out if they didn’t have any emergencies. Then the police would follow up because the kidnapping gave them the probable cause needed to get a warrant. His information about the safe in the stairwell would help when they searched the place. But they’d also all timed their arrival to make sure Francisco could not make good on his threat to harm her. They wouldn’t find the victim there, but they’d find lots of other things, things that would serve to put Francisco and his son away for a good long time. That would teach them what happened when someone threatened his Cicely.
Back in the valet parking area, he turned his keys over to the attendant and came around to the passenger side. “Cicely, we’re here.” He gently shook her shoulder. “Let’s go to the room.”
She opened her eyes and smiled, stretching her arms over her head. “That sounds nice.”
And he’d let her get some rest. He would not come on like an animal, but would take every ounce of discipline he had. Helping her to her feet, he laid her arm on his and ushered her to the elevator in the Victorian lobby.
She looked around and sighed. “It is beautiful. I’ve been here so many times, but it never gets old.”
He pressed a kiss to her cheek as the elevator rose to their floor. “You’re beautiful. And I promise to keep my hands to myself tonight and not attempt to seduce you until you’ve had a chance to rest.”
“You do, huh?” The look she cast him would have melted steel. “What a shame because I planned to strip off all my clothes and throw myself on the bed the moment we got in the room. You made a lot of promises on those phone calls, Corbin. But it’s up to you.”
As soon as he unlocked the door, she swished inside, her hips swaying, and proceeded to do exactly what she’d promised. By the time he’d closed the door, flicked on a lamp, and turned to face her, he got an eyeful of Cicely. Blonde hair fell over her pale shoulders. Her nipples were a dusky rose, the landing strip between her legs also pale blonde. Her legs were long and straight and her hips flared from a trim waist. He wanted to taste every inch of her. She spun in a slow circle giving him the chance to take in her sweetly rounded bottom.
“You’re so beautiful. Why would you ever pretend to be someone else?” he asked, unbuttoning his jeans and sliding them down his legs. He’d left his shoes back at the mansion. Amazing no one had noticed as he entered the hotel. Luckily, he had another pair in his bag, but it saved time now, not having them. Kicking the jeans aside, he shed his shirt and prowled toward her. “Baby, I don’t want to rush you, but I have to have you, now.”
She backed toward the bed, stopping when she bumped into it. “What happened to waiting? Letting me rest?”
“You weren’t naked then.” Bending, he kissed her long and slow, drawing her against his body, savoring the warmth of her silky skin. His cock bumped her belly, and he grasped her bottom with both hands, kneading and stroking. When she twined her arms around his neck, he lifted her, and she wrapped her legs around him, opening herself wide.
“Baby, this isn’t a good idea. We don’t need to rush, we—”
Cicely pressed herself into him, the tip of his cock gliding through the wet folds of her pussy. “Corbin, we’ve waited months. Please don’t make me wait longer.”
With a groan, he slid inside, her heated channel surrounding him and making him even harder. He lifted and lowered her, filling her deeper with each thrust. Standing-up sex had never done much for him, until now, until Cicely. The diamond tips of her breasts scraped his chest, adding to the incredible eroticism of their lovemaking. When his knees began to wobble, he laid her on the bed and drove even deeper at the new angle. He also could kiss her and did, exploring her mouth with his tongue, copying the motion of his cock in her pussy until she shrieked and tightened around him, milking him dry.
He fell to the side, not wanting to put too much weight on her, then gathered her close. “You were amazing,” he murmured, reaching to turn off the lamp.
“Thank you for saving me,” she replied. “Even after I told you all those lies.”
“As long as it’s all truth from now on, no worries.”
As her breathing slowed and evened out, he lay with her, hugging her to him, and just like all those nights on the phone, they talked about their hopes and dreams and the future. But, this time, they did it in the same room, together. Cicely would come to California. She could continue her online classes and finish a California teaching degree as well. They’d have things to work out, but what couple didn’t? She’d have to make a statement to law enforcement about her kidnapping and then pack up her things, but by this time next week, they’d be in bed at his home. Which, if all went well, would be their home. Their months together at a distance translated unbelievably well into a real-life connection.
Cicely snuggled closer. He closed his eyes and sighed. The longest day in his life had led to the happiest night. And a future they could both look forward to. Together.
