Jesse: The Son's Of The Apocalypse MC Page 10

by Roxanne Greening

“I’m your older brother. My names Lark. And you little Danny, you need to turn around and go back to him. We will have more time to talk later.”

“No, I need to kill him, kill the monster. I’ve already killed a shadow man, it’s time for me to finish this.”

Hands grabbed me by the waist, pulling me into a hard chest. Fear tried to take over, but his scent hit me. Jesse was here and he was holding me. I don’t understand, what’s going on?

  “You didn’t tell her?”

Lark’s voice was full of amusement.

  “You killed the hitman?”

His voice went from amused to, dare I say pride colored it?

  “I killed him, Danny.”

Turning I look into Jesse’s eyes. He killed him? Killed the monster? I knew it was true, he was gone. I wanted to thank him, but the words were locked in my throat. Pressing my lips against his was the only way to convey how I felt.

“Take her inside she’s freezing and in pain.”

Lark’s cold voice was filled with disappointment.

“I don’t want you to go. Please?”

I watch the Lark’s eyes soften.

“I want you to rest. I have something I need to take care of, then I promise I’ll be back.”

I knew he would and I also knew where he was going. He was going to them to the people I believed were my parents. He was going to finish it for me. My heart swelled in my chest as love for Lark and Jesse invaded it.

For the first time in years I felt whole. Like I belonged somewhere. I had a family and I had Jesse. Pressing my face into Jesse’s chest I let him hold me close as everything hits home. I was free. Finally free.

  Epilogue

  Eight months later……

Twins. I had not just one baby, but twins! Little Lyla Rose and Cage Johnathan. Lark made good on his promise and came back two days later and told me about our parents and how most of the higher ranking female children disappeared.

Unfortunately, my parents were killed years ago, but Lark never gave up looking for me. He also told me what he was, a high profile hitman. Instead of upsetting me it warmed me. I knew between Jesse and Lark our children would always be safe.

Looking at my little family, it was hard not to smile. Lark was holding Cage and Jesse was holding Lyla. Both men looked like soft marshmallows. Who knew men who take lives for a living could turn to mush at the sight of little people.

The others have avoided the room like the plague. With promises of returns after my scary brother left. The thought has me laughing. Each body jarring laugh was painful, but I just couldn’t stop. If they could see my brother right now, well, let’s just say their expressions would be hilarious.

I found out I have a cousin and she was living not that far from here. Her name was Emilia and we both were taken and sold. Sold to people who wanted kids, but couldn’t have them. Right now she’s still recovering from a nightmare just like I still was.

I take it one day at a time and just like I promised I haven’t forgotten that blonde girl. Jesse helped me plant a garden and I take an hour a day sitting in it and remembering her. I would try to picture what her life was like before he got her.

Always painted it with love and happiness. I hope she found peace where she went. Jesse and Lark have been trying to figure out who she was. Not an easy feat considering all we had to go on was my fuzzy memories of how she looked.

I kept out the scars and what I knew she must have experienced at his hands. She deserved dignity and I was going to give it to her. I wrote a journal with all the lives I thought she might have had, I also wrote about her and her last day.

I wanted to make sure the world knew her story she deserved to be remembered. We all deserve to be remembered. She made a mark on this world just like we all so. Our invisible footprint. Everyone should know love, respect, dignity, happiness and life.

I only wished she escaped her fate like I did. I live every day for the both of us. Keeping her alive even if only in memory.

  “I love you baby.”

Jesse’s voice so full of love it warmed me to my soul. I was lucky. Not very many of us go free. They sell us and most live in a hell no person should live through. I will forever be grateful for what I have.

  “I love you too.”

  The End.

  Universal dough:

Recently I’ve gotten into making more from scratch and it was one of the best decisions. This dough and sauce or a staple in my home now. I use it to make my bread, launchable pizza crusts. (I just flip a muffin pan and press the crust around the raised metal. Remember to spray with nonstick spray) meatball subs, etc.

3 cups of good all-purpose flour

1 cup and 2 tbsp. Hot water

2 ½ tsp fast acting yeast (stuff goof for bread machines)

  ½ tsp salt

  2 tbsp. Canola oil

  3 tbsp. White granulated sugar

If you have a bread machine use the dough setting, if you have a mixer with dough hook us it, otherwise work those muscles, lots and lots of stirring and beating is in your future. Once you have formed a mice ball spray a bowl with nonstick spray and also a piece of plastic wrap with nonstick spray put dough in the bowl and cover letting it rise nice and high. I make small sub rolls, lunchable crusts, bread, and dinner rolls.

Remember to rub the dough down with butter before baking and top with melted butter when you remove it from the oven.

  Universal sauce:

However, many cans of plain tomato sauce you want or need. (Remember, you can always can it for later.)

  Basil

(There is no amount to this I add it until it tastes the way I want it too)

  Fresh diced Garlic

(Depends on the amount you make and how my garlic you like)

  Onion

(Powder or fresh depends on your family’s like and dislikes mine, I have to use powder.)

  Salt and pepper

  (I personally add it lightly.)

Just dump it all in and cook until you are satisfied with its flavors. This is a really easy sauce to make. I like to make large batches and can it. I use this sauce in the home made lunchables, pasta, meatball subs, homemade pizza, and much more.

Shells for Tacos and Homemade Pizzas:

  2 cups of flour

  1 tsp baking powder

  Water (warm)

  Crisco

  Cast iron pan

Put the flour and baking powder into a bowl and add the ½ warm water. Stir if not sticky, add more water by the tbsp. Until the dough is nice and sticky.

Sprinkle powder onto the counter and rip little pieces of dough carefully rolling it out. Nice and thin. Don’t over stack them and make sure to cook them as quickly as you can to prevent sticking.

Heat the lard while you are doing this in a cast iron pan. (I was told to do it outside do to the smoke.)

Fry on both sides. These cook quick you want them to be golden brown on each side. Make sure to put paper plates in between them as you finish to draw out some of the grease.

I like to cook a few too many by doubling the batch so I can make pizzas the next day.

As for the Tacos they can be chicken of hamburger:

For the chicken I use pineapple salsa and place the chicken into the crock pot with the salsa letting it cook on low for about 8 hours. Taking my mixer I quickly shred it. Not the prettiest or you could hand shred it.

For the hamburger. I never use the package seasoning. I dice up fresh garlic just a few cloves. Then I add season salt, onion powder, salt and pepper. Browning the meat, then draining it. Top with your favorite toppings.

I like to top it with white rice, fried potatoes, and sautéed green pepper and onions, topped with shredded cheese.

  Okay and the Pizzas:

I use the homemade sauce, spreading it over the shell. Top it with mozzarella cheese and my favorite toppings, bake it in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until cheese is nice and melted. Yummy homemade personal pizzas
.
