“Do as you are told, dog.” He looked into the room and then he saw her. The woman on the floor, bleeding out next to a man much larger than she was. Her hair was red and her skin pale, she was so familiar to him that he was frozen in place. He stepped forward as his black wings expanded.
Gunner walked past him and into the room, leaning down to hear her whisper. “Please, forgive me.”
Gunner scooped her up into his arms and walked past Lucifer as he studied her face. Gunner stopped and stared him down.
“This is Halo Bay and I will see that she finds salvation, regardless of your attempts to stop her.”
Lucifer watched as Gunner faded into the hallway and then he touched his heart feeling one beat and then it stopped.
“Ariel,” he whispered, as he faded to black.
