“Be right there.”
When I make my way to the living room I can’t contain my grin, and Eliza, Mandy and Caiden practically run out of my apartment when I tell them Hunter is on his way over.
A few minutes later Hunter knocks, and I’m talking as I open the door. “I know you didn’t lie to me now, and I’m so sorry I doubted you. I reacted without thinking, and you have every right to be mad at me. I was awful to you.” I step back to let him in.
“What I did was stupid.”
“You had a good---”
Hunter places his fingers over my mouth. “That’s no excuse for tapping into government records. I learned my lesson, Lexi. Some rules should not be broken.” He moves his hand down to cup my chin, and I remember how he did this when he kissed me with his mind. “I should have told you about my past before we got married. I was wrong.” He brushes his thumb over my lower lip and lets out a low sexy noise. “I love you so much, Lexi, I couldn’t help myself.”
“I love you too, Hunter. I’m so sorry I didn’t trust you.”
My phone rings in my back pocket, and I pull it out. I see it’s Kiely, but my mind is on Hunter and the way he’s running his hands through my hair to remove my ponytail. I hit the speaker, and the phone thumps on the table when I set it down.
Kiely skips the greeting. “There’s no sign of any tampering, Boss Lady.”
I place my hand on Hunter’s chest and tilt my head back as I revel in the feel of my alien’s touch. I say, “Um-hmm.”
“So go strip your alien naked and have your way with him before I do.”
“I’m already on it.” Kiely chuckles, and I reach over to tap ‘end call’ so I can reach up and kiss the man I love.

I sigh in pleasure as Hunter massages the arch of my foot. “I swear my feet have swollen a whole shoe size.”
“Then we’ll just get you bigger shoes.”
“I’m going to need bigger everything. Funny how you neglected to mention twins run in your family.” I’m three months pregnant, and my body is already making sure I know what an important job I have now.
Hunter has moved up to my calves, and I moan as I close my eyes. He says, “Baby, every time you make that sound I want to devour you.”
His jeans are rough on my sole as I slide my other foot along his thigh. “Have I ever complained about that?”
He raises his eyebrows, and his voice lowers in tone. “No. You haven’t.” Hunter moves up to hover over me on the couch. I reach to put my arms around his neck, and his powerful muscles flex as he slides his hands under my bottom and lifts me up so I’ll wrap my legs around his waist.
He carries me toward the bedroom. I say, “You’re not going to be able to do this much longer.”
“When your belly is too big for this I’ll carry you another way, because I plan to spend every day making sure you know how much I adore you.”
I think about how that’s true. I never knew I could want to be with a man the way I do Hunter. He’s my world, and I can’t imagine how I survived without him. And soon, I’ll have two darling children that will remind me how wonderful it is to find someone who helps you realize the dream of a family.
My hot alien lowers me to the bed, and I lay back on the cool comforter as he begins to undress me. While our attraction physically was instant, I’ve learned that Hunter TS-501 is so much more than a sexy man that makes my knees weak. He’s got a mind that challenges and impresses me, and a heart of gold that I’m sure will make him a great father too.
I watch as Hunter finishes taking his clothes off, and when he crawls over me I reach up and place my hand on his heart. It pounds against his chest with a steady beat that makes me think of his strong commitment to our love, and my heart nearly bursts from the emotions that fill it. I say, “I love you so much, Hunter. I feel like the luckiest girl on Earth.”
“I’m the luckiest man in the galaxy, Lexi.” He leans down close and whispers, “Now let me show you how much I love you,” and he kisses me in a way that makes me never want to let go of my perfect match.
