  He touched his son more than he ever had. Before he left, his son came to him and he ignored him, hating the idea of the millstone he represented, around his neck. Now as he looked on his legacy, he smiled at the wonder of it all.

  His wife kept her word and she waited. Not only waited but kept his home intact and ready for his arrival. Marcus sat back wondering at the good fortune in his life that protected him from the evil that beset the other Marines coming home. He smiled as he looked out the window at the setting sun that looked so much better than any sun he experienced while he was away.
