Kayla turned around to see Myles on one knee at her feet. Then she noticed that her gate area was full of her family, sisters, and Myles’ family. She started crying as Myles was down on one knee holding a ring box open with a beautiful ring. The ring looked to be four karats with blue diamond’s surrounding it. “Myles,” she whispered unable to form any other words.
“Honey Bee, I know you heard my words. So, I just want to know, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” he asked.
At that time, Rachel piped in with, “She’s taking a long time to answer, Myles. Again, I’ll take you if she doesn’t want you.”
“The hell she will,” Dashawn said in a gruff voice.
Kayla wiped her eyes and laughed never taking her eyes from Myles. “Oh, don’t worry Dashawn, he’s mine. Yes, Myles. Yes, I’ll marry you.” She accepted the ring and kissed her fiancé.
Cheers went up in the airport as Myles stood up and deepened the kiss as if his last breath depended on it. When he finally pried his yummy lips from hers, he said, “You have made me the happiest man alive, Honey Bee. I will make sure that you never regret your decision.”
Kayla nodded as she greeted her friends and family as well as Myles’ family.
So, as it turned out, she had seen Grandpa Feelgood. Now, he walked up to her and congratulated her. “Alright now, Ms. Kayla that’s how you keep him whooped for life.”
Kayla then went from crying to laughing hysterically. Grandpa Feelgood would make family gatherings and holidays very interesting and entertaining.
“Alright, everybody, let’s get on this plane before we get left!” Myles shouted.
“Uh, get on the plane? Is everybody going, Myles?” Kayla questioned.
“Yes, Honey Bee, we are all heading to Tampa,” he informed her. “From there we will be commuting to Orlando to board the Carnival Magic tomorrow. We’re going back to where it all began. Oh, and we’re getting married on the cruise. I refuse to wait another year to marry you baby.”
Kayla was floored, how was she going to get married now? She didn’t have a dress, clothes for a cruise, or anything.
Before she could speak aloud any of her thoughts or concerns Jocelyn spoke up, “Sis, the girls and I along with Myles’ mother, your mom and Myles’ sister have everything taken care of. You have everything you need. Although this is a surprise to you, Myles was very thorough in his planning and spared no expense. He also left no stones unturned. You are in good hands. Now let’s get you closer to the Married Club, shall we?”
Kayla still felt confused as she thought she would be going to Tampa to spend time with Caressa and her family. “But what about the plans Caressa and I had and my time with baby Parker?”
Laughing, Caressa stepped forward, “Kayla, Parker isn’t going anywhere, and there will be other opportunities for us to hang.”
“Sis, I know I just assumed that you only had a certain amount of time scheduled from work. Y’all have managed to plan everything without me suspecting a damn thing.”
Laughter broke out as they all walked on the plane. This trip was about to get more mind-blowing for Kayla as she just had no clue how much Myles had planned.
Arriving in Tampa roughly two hours later, Kayla was still reeling from Myles proposal. She felt like Kelly Price as she sung her song, He Proposed. She had stopped her music, so she could hear him clearly and then Myles mentioned their meeting and being on a collision course. She’d already started crying and stayed put so she could hear what else he said. She had no idea that when she turned around, she would see all the people who mattered to them gathered in that space.
She was now on her way to Orlando where they would all be heading out tomorrow to board the cruise ship. She was excited to find out their parents would be joining them. Over the past year, they got along as if the two of them were already married. Thinking out loud she said, “Oh God, Myles what are we going to do about our living arrangements? We still live separately, and I just bought my house three years ago.”
“Breathe baby, everything is going to be fine. I sold my house two months ago. Why do you think I always changed the subject when you asked to come to my house? It wasn’t because I was blowing you off, it was because I sold it and had been staying at a hotel or with you. We can start off living at your house for now, but I want to sell it or rent it out as well. I’m having a house built for us.”
Gasping, Kayla couldn’t believe it, he had thought about everything, leaving nothing to chance. “Myles, you’re having a house built? Where? What kind of house? What about my company and your practice?” she fired rapid questions at him.
“Well, the house is a four bedroom four-level split, and it’s located in Powell not too far from where you live now. I wanted to give us something with room to grow as well as have the potential for expansion. It will be finished in about a month, or so we’ll need to determine what we’re doing with your house before then.”
She was at a loss for words. He’d not only asked her to marry him, planned every detail of their ceremony, but also had a house built for them. All, while she’d thought he was busy working tirelessly! Where did he find the time to get all of this done? “Myles, I don’t want to sell my house, it was the first thing that I did for myself once I got stable enough in my company. When did you even have time to do all of this stuff while working?”
“Honey Bee, I had a lot of help of course.” He smirked. “We both have retired parents who worked together to make sure that our lives could come together without any glitches. While I took care of my patients, they took care of the details. I wrote the checks, and they made sure to communicate with me every step of the way. You will be happy with the results of the ceremony as well as our home. Now, let’s head to the hotel, so I can let you accept another one of my proposals,” he added winking at her.
~Chapter Twenty-Seven~
Three days later…
St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
It was the morning of her wedding, and Kayla felt excited about becoming Mrs. Myles Feelgood. Who knew the “Asshole” from two years ago would become the love of her life? She had no idea her life would take the turn that it did. She couldn’t wait to see what was in store for her, not only today but as they journeyed through life together.
In typical pre-wedding day fashion, she’d had spent the night with her mom, Reia, Caressa, Rachel, Jocelyn, Mrs. Catherine, and Monica. They were keeping her entertained as well as ensuring that she and Myles truly stayed apart. They had even made sure she wrote her vows as Myles informed them that they wouldn’t be making the standard promises.
“Alright Kayla, are you ready to start getting ready?” Monica asked.
“Baby, I got all of your wedding day essentials,” her mother, Regina stated. “And the girls got your wedding and wedding night essentials. Come on and let’s get you together. Thank goodness, you decided to get your hair twisted, so we have one less thing to worry about.”
Feeling anxious, she responded, “Yes, Mommy, let’s do this. I’m ready to begin my life with Myles!” Grinning, she headed to the bathroom for a quick shower.
A while later, they handed her undergarments to her which only consisted of underwear. “Uh, where’s the bra?”
“Sis, the dress we chose for you is custom made and as such, we made sure it included a built-in bra to accommodate your double D’s,” Jocelyn informed her laughing.
“Oh ok, you guys really did cover everything huh?” she said finally inspecting her underwear. Her bridal panties were a white lace cutie booty cheeky with the words “Bride” written in Turquoise on them. After putting them on, she called for her dress.
After about five minutes, her mom walked in with a dress she instantly fell in love with. It was a sexy boho chiffon, beach wedding dress with an airy slit skirt and sweep train that zipped in the back. It also had a lace accented off shoulder bodice.
Her mom helped her slip the dress on, and then they exited the bathroom.
“Oo
hs and ahhs,” were echoed around the room as the women admired how beautiful a bride she made.
“Where are my shoes?” she asked.
“We got you some beach sandals, but you won’t get them until we get to the wedding location,” Reia stated.
“Alright, let me see them at least,” she replied.
Mrs. Catherine walked over revealing a beautiful pair of beach sandals. They were made of soft 100% cotton yarn with Turquoise accent beads.
“I love them, thank you all,” she said a little choked up.
“They were the perfect something blue for your destination wedding, and we didn’t want you to have to worry about shoes,” Regina stated while bending down as she put slippers on her feet also getting choked up. “The designer ensured that they would be cozy and comfortable on your feet. But for now, you’ll wear these ballet slippers until we get where we’re going.”
Looking at the clock in the room, Caressa stated, “Okay ladies, we’ve got to get this show on the road. The groom and other men will be waiting for us at the location. Let’s go!”
For the first time since coming out of the bathroom, Kayla noticed everyone was dressed in varying Turquoise dresses. “Oh my, you all look beautiful. Who picked out these colors?”
Laughing, they all echoed, “Myles!” Then ushered Kayla out of the room, not wanting her train to hit the ground Rachel walked behind her holding the train.
After exiting the ship, the women found a man holding a sign with her name on it. Apparently, Myles had arranged for transportation to get them to the wedding location. He’d chosen Sapphire Beach for their wedding. He arranged for private transportation to ensure that everyone made it there from the ship. The location for the wedding was beautiful, and he arranged for the ceremony to take place at the water’s edge where the view was spectacular.
Fifteen minutes later, the official gave the all rise signal to let everyone know that Kayla was ready and about to come down the aisle.
Kayla looked around the space awed at the efforts Myles had taken to make this day memorable for her.
“Baby girl, are you ready to take these steps toward your new beginning?” her father asked.
“Daddy, I just need a minute to absorb all of this.” Right as she said this, she could hear Kenny Lattimore’s, For You start to play. She nodded to her dad indicating that she was ready, and they began making a slow track toward Myles and the altar.
For you, I'd give a lifetime of stability…Anything you want of me…Nothing is impossible…
Myles was anxious to see what Kayla looked like in her wedding dress. He had entrusted the women around her to handle those details, as he wanted to be surprised by her appearance. He had chosen to wear an all-white Habana Guayabera style short sleeve shirt and white linen pants. His groomsmen were the husbands and boyfriends of Kayla’s sisters, and they wore turquoise Habana Guayabera style short sleeve shirts and white linen pants.
Once the wedding was over, they would all head back for their private reception in one of the private rooms on the boat.
Myles let out another frustrated sigh as he kept shifting from foot to foot while growing impatient from the wait.
“Damn boy, she’s coming. I can’t believe how damn whooped you are,” Grandpa Feelgood said causing everyone to laugh at his comments.
Myles then saw Kayla and lost all words—she was gorgeous. The dress she wore accentuated her in a way that made him swallow his spit and he had to remind his cock that they weren’t alone. Kayla looked like a vision in white. And he noticed that as she moved towards him, a glimpse of her thigh could be seen. “Damn,” he muttered to himself.
Before long, she made it to him, and her dad was giving her hand to him, confirming that he’d just given her to him in marriage. After the official spoke of marriage and announcing they would claim their own vows, it was time to exchange their vows.
Taking a deep breath and looking into her eyes, he recited the words that came from the deepest part of his being, “Honey Bee, every promise I make to you is one I feel is not a burden, but rather a gift. I don't HAVE to honor and cherish you I GET to. I GET to have you be the person I spend the rest of my life with. I GET to be there for you and support you. It is my extreme pleasure to be in the position to be there for you my love,” he finished while wiping her tears and giving her a quick kiss.
Kayla looked luminous and excited as she took a minute to get herself together before she gathered herself and recited her vows to him, “Myles, it is clear to me now that everything in my life has led me to you. I think back on all my choices and consider even the bad ones blessed. Because if I’d done even one thing differently, I might never have met you and be standing in front of you, moments away from becoming your wife.”
They exchanged rings.
The official finally announced, “Dr. Feelgood you may now kiss your bride.”
Myles had been waiting for this part of the ceremony, grabbing Kayla, he bent her body back and seared her with a kiss that caused the participants to whoop and clap. The kiss also caused Kayla to hold him tighter.
Smirking, the officiant cleared his throat as he stated, to the crowd, “Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, Dr. and Mrs. Myles Feelgood!”
With this, the crowd went up into louder cheers as they took a quick bow and walked back up the aisle.
“Alright family, head to your shuttles, it’s time for the reception. My wife and I will see you all there in a little bit,” Myles instructed as they made their way to the car he arranged to take them back to the ship.
After a short ride, Myles and Kayla made it through security as they re-entered the ship and headed straight to their suite.
“Now Honey Bee,” Myles whispered to Kayla. “I know we have to get to the reception, but there is something that we must do first.”
“You do realize Myles, that the others are shortly behind us, right? We don’t have time for that, as you have yet to show me that you can perform a quickie and now is not the time for such an introduction or occurrence,” she said laughing.
Getting to their suite took a little longer than Myles would have liked as their fellow cruisers stopped them every couple of steps congratulating them on their nuptials. But seeing the look of utter happiness on Kayla’s face, he hadn’t minded the attention. She was glowing, and he was happy to have made her wedding day special. He knew it would only going to get better.
As they approached their door, he stopped Kayla. “Honey Bee, I must carry you over this threshold.” He leaned down and swung her up into his arms. Cradling her to him, he swiped his keycard to unlock the door, and once the green light displayed, he walked in the room. But he stopped just inside the room and let the door close behind him, bending down he gave her a quick kiss. “Baby, there’s something for you on the bed to change into.”
Kayla turned toward the bed and before taking a step, she gasped. “Myles, oh my God, when did you do this?” she exclaimed as tears began to stream down her face. The room had a banner that held Myles’ vows on it hanging over the bed:
Honey Bee, every promise I make to you is one I feel is not a burden, but rather a gift. I don't HAVE to honor and cherish you I GET to. I GET to have you be the person I spend the rest of my life with. I GET to be there for you and support you. It is my extreme pleasure to be in the position to be there for you my love.
On the table was a tray with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Moscato beside it. The bed had rose petals in the form of a heart with a box in the center of it.
Kayla stood rooted to the spot and couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks at a steady pace.
Myles wrapped one arm around her waist and wiped her tears with his other hand. “To answer your question Honey Bee, I had our room steward take care of this as our ceremony was happening. That box contains your reception dress your sisters took the liberty of picking it out for you. Why don’t you change, so we can go meet our family in the piano bar for our rec
eption?”
Grabbing the box, Kayla walked into the bathroom to change. She couldn’t believe the effort Myles had gone through not only to surprise her but the pre-wedding, wedding, and their suite was causing her to be emotional. “I can’t wait to see what’s to come,” she said as she slowly opened the box. “Well damn, those girls weren’t playing,” Kayla said as she pulled out a lace bustier with a rhinestone flower sash.
Myles was wondering what was taking Kayla so long to change and just before he could inquire, the bathroom door opened and out stepped Kayla.
She wore a mid-thigh length, turquoise lace bustier with a rhinestone flower sash and a garter.
“FUCK ME,” he said. Stuttering and trying not to drool, he said breathlessly, “H-honey Bee, there’s no way in HELL you’re leaving this room in that!”
Smirking, she retorted, “Babe, you told me to change into my reception attire. It looks like this is it.” She laughed. “Just kidding, just kidding, baby. This is clearly for the private after party between us.”
Myles growled and charged toward her. “I think I should show you just how much this attire has affected me.” Reaching Kayla, he brought her close to him, and kissed any other words from her mouth.
Coming up for air, Kayla backed out of Myles’ arms. “As much as I would love to continue this, I think we need to get to our reception and finish this later. Let me go put my wedding dress back on.”
