“I pray your intuition is accurate.”
“Being a young version of his papa, I pray Alex is willing to open his heart to a special young woman in the future.”
Stewart tilted his head and looked at the ceiling. “Natasha, we require your assistance. Steer Alex toward a woman that is able to capture his heart. I trust your judgment, knowing you brought Izabella and Adam into our lives.” He turned to Izabella. “I wish to speak with Adam and Hope, before their day begins. I want you to join me.”
“I’m not meant to dress today,” Izabella complained.
Stewart left their room with Izabella a step behind. Pleased their door was open, he tapped to capture their attention.
“Come in, Poppa. Izabella. We were just discussing Alex.”
They walked into the room and closed the door. “Your naive son.”
“Unfortunately, yes,” Adam admitted. “The fact he was naive in his youth didn’t concern me, but it does now.”
“Indeed, it bothers us as well,” Stewart remarked, looking at Izabella.
“Adam is concerned for the future of the business,” Hope admitted. “He is questioning Alex’s ability to manage the orphanage. Tom is the manager, but Adam oversees the business. I don’t know whether Alex is capable of that responsibility. What will happen when … well … when we are no longer on this earth?”
“I will not be stepping away from the business in the near future, as my parents and grandparents did. I presumed we had brought the fifth generation owner into the world, but I’m no longer certain I trust my son with the challenges of managing the business given his inability to speak up or take control of a situation. It breaks my heart to say this, but the orphanage could be forced to close its doors forever.”

“Oh no. Alex, if this is your story, and my gut is telling me it is, you have to grow up and quickly,” Keeghan remarked, lecturing Alex. “It’s always been your dream to manage the orphanage. To take the business over from your parents. I’m proud of you for breaking up with Elaine, I really am. You would have been miserable with her. I don’t think divorce would be very acceptable back in your time.”
“No,” Will remarked.
Alex raised his eyebrows.
“Back to the story, please,” Keeghan begged.
The screen disappeared. Alexander stood looked into the distance, smiled and walked away. He extended his hand as if greeting someone and then disappeared.
“Alexander is gone,” Will confirmed.
“Damn him. We’re not done here yet. I want to know who he’s walking towards. Don’t be Elaine. Gone and forgotten, please.”

About the Author
Heather has an uncanny ability to frequently ‘manipulate’ her dreams. As a bonus, she remembers them in extensive detail the following morning. A dream inspired the basic storyline. Then her overactive imagination developed the characters and the detail. In her spare time Heather assists the Healing Cycle, Hospice Palliative Care. She is also actively involved with the local curling club, currently volunteering her time teaching children when she isn’t curling herself. Heather has a passion for travel, photography and gardening. She would like to extend a special thank-you to her niece for reading and re-reading and to her husband for his support, and encouragement, suggesting she “write it down.”
