I moved in, putting my finger along his lips, tracing them as he licked them slowly.
“Lick,” he whispered
He sure as hell didn’t have to ask me twice as I dove down toward the most delicious dessert with my tongue and mouth licking and tasting him, taking my time while the moans and sighs from his lips told me that he was enjoying this just as much as I was. I felt fingers running through my hair as he pulled me up, whip cream all over my face, pulling it towards his own as we passionately kissed. We rolled around in the bed, even though the sheets stuck to us, it didn’t matter because we were too into each other to care.
I could feel him slide into me when he got on top. I could hear him whispering lovingly in my ear something that totally made me dizzy with his hypnotic words while my mind raced with wonder as to what he was saying. Every part of my body vibrated furiously as the more he thrust into me, the more my voice grew loud and raspy while clawing at his back. “Oh, God yes,” I found myself moaning out loud, his gentle bites along my neck sent shivers through me and I cried out. I could hear him moaning as well. His fingers continued pulling my hair, gripping and pulling my head back when I could feel my orgasm building. His hips gyrated and moved with such ease and precision that I found myself unable to contain my emotions any longer. My body shook, my fingers dug deep into the skin on his back and I cried out his name over and over again. The moment between us became so intense that I found my eyes rolling back in my head, which was a first.
BOOM!
I was startled out of my sleep by a very loud noise. It rattled my nerves t and my heart literally jumped into my throat. Swiftly, I got out of bed, even though I was in a cold sweat at the time and made my way throughout my apartment looking to see where the hell the noise came from. When I opened the door to look outside, I noticed some construction workers doing some work.
One of my neighbors Jeanne was walking up the stairway towards me in a pair of sweat pants and a shirt along with her cup of coffee.
“What the hell is going on?” I asked her.
“Some idiot hit a pipe and it made that sound. Luckily, the guy didn’t blow up but they are trying to fix it.”
“It must have been the gas pipe then, because nothing could have made an explosion like that. I don’t’ know why they decided to do it this late in the night.”
“Looks like it’s going to be another lovely day, look at that sky.” She pointed towards the sky and I realized that it was almost morning.
“Good lord, I wonder what time it is?” I made my way inside and was shocked to see it was only forty fifteen in the morning. I literally dreamed the entire night away and only had a couple of minutes to get ready for work.
This was the last time I decide to have chocolate cream pie so late in the day.
Chapter Five
When I made it to the coffee shop, it was only five minutes before five, which was great because lord knows I didn’t want to hear Al mouthing at me about being late, even though I never was. I knocked on the door and waited for someone to come…it was Al himself.
He smiled and opened it as I walked inside. “So glad you came on time.”
I noticed that no one else was there as he walked ahead of me.
Soon, that wouldn’t be the case.
“SURPRISE!” shouted most of the staff as they came towards me smiling and waving. One of them holding a tray with what looked like one of my favorite desserts that we sold there, which was the cheese Danish.
“What in the world is going on here?” I asked, still in shock.
“We thought we would surprise you today because we’re celebrating ten years of you being here at the Brownstone. We wanted to let you know how much you mean to us here and I would like to offer you a promotion.”
“A promotion, are you serious?”
“I would like to make you an assistant manager here.” Al announced.
This really shocked me because no one had been an assistant manager since Rodney left town over a year ago. “Wow, I really don’t know what to say but I am very honored that you would think of me for this position. I really don’t know what to say.”
“Well, you don’t have to give your answer right now but you can think on it and let me know. I can give you the paperwork to look over when you go home tonight, so that way you can get what your duties will be. But for now, Marsha why don’t you bring out the coffee and tea and let’s enjoy some quiet time before we open up.”
So, that’s what we did and it was probably the one and only time we got together like this, besides a staff meeting. This time it was a bit different because we sat around laughing it up and just enjoying ourselves before the day started.
* * * *
The day brought a new sense of confidence for me and it was obvious from the compliments I’d been getting from some of the patrons.
“I just can’t believe that you might be the assistant manager, how cool is that?” Marsha told me while making a cappuccino.
“Did you know anything about me getting the promotion and all?”
She shook her head. “Only thing I knew was that he told me to come in early for something important. He told me to come in around four thirty, which shocked me that he wanted me to come so dang early. But I’m glad that you got it because honestly, you are the only one around here that does the most work, plus you’re really well liked by not just the staff, but the patrons here too. Hell, they even know you on a first name biases. How many people can say that? Oh my, it’s him.” I noticed her straightening her hair and shirt and that only meant one thing…
The Greek God was here.
He came in with the same guy that was with him during his poetry reading along with the same girl that his friend had hooked up with as well. As always, he looked handsome in anything he wore and today, he wore blue jeans that hugged his thighs. When he sat down at one of my tables, it made his ass look great while the black jacket and shirt brought out his chiseled features. He took off the sunglasses he was wearing and continued talking with his friend.
I walked over with my tray, pad and pen.
He smiled. “Why hello Roya, how are you today?”
“Doing just fine, what can I get you all today?”
“I’ll have my usual,” he told me, still smiling.
“Do you have green tea here?” asked the woman.
“Yes, we do,”
“Is it organic?”
“Of course.”
“I’ll have a cup of tea, with lemon and do you have agave?”
“Actually, we do but we don’t have it out here in the open, only when someone asks for it.”
“Well, I’d appreciate it if you could bring me some please. What about you sweetheart?” she smiled sweetly at Callion’s friend.
“Can I just get a regular coffee, black and if you have them can I get a Bear Claw?” Andre asked,
“Yes, we do have them and I’ll make sure to get you the biggest one we have.” I glanced at the container we had the cream in and saw it was half-empty, so I took it and made my way back to the counter to fill in their order. “Can I have a café au lait please?” I shouted to Charlie who was working the machine as I grabbed a cup to pour his friend some black coffee. When someone wanted tea, which often did happen we would have the tea served with a small teapot filled with hot water along with a cup and some tea bags. I went into the counter and found the bottle of agave. Going into the display case, I grabbed one of the biggest bear claws and muffin I could find and put them on their saucers while arranging everything on my tray.
When Charlie came to put the café au lait on my tray, I thanked him before heading back to their table.
Both of the men were speaking in Greek, laughing it up as the girl who was sitting with them looked clueless.
“Here you go your tea and agave, your bear claw and coffee and I brought some fresh cream too. Here is your muffin and café au lait. Let me know if you need anything else.” I looked over the table to make sure
that I didn’t forget anything and I knew I didn’t.
Of course, the girl had to make a comment, “I thought you said that the green tea is organic?”
“It is organic ma’am.”
She studied at the tea bag and then realized I told the truth. “My bad, I’m sorry.”
“No problem at all, like I said if you need anything let me know.” I walked away as I saw Marsha gawking at me and I rolled my eyes and smiled.
“What in the world was that all about?”
“Someone trying to show off.” I gazed around to see if anyone else needed me and sure enough, a customer was ready for their check. This went on for a while longer, me serving customers, talking with them, making sure that everything they needed was met to their expectations. But all awhile, I kept my eye on Callion, to see if maybe just maybe, he would be looking at me to come and help him out.
He appeared to be enjoying the talk with his friend his face looking calm and relaxed while he talked. I swear I tried not to stare too hard, but it’s hard not to, the man was way too handsome and my dreams were getting way too hot for me not to think about him.
Then—he saw me staring at him—and he smiled.
Of course, then while being a complete ditz for the first time ever, I ended up tripping and almost breaking my neck along with dropping the tray of cups, I carried. Thankfully, I caught my balance and didn’t make a fool out of myself. When I glanced back at him, he continued talking with Andre while he and the girl were leaving.
Andre gave him a hug as he grabbed the rest of his bear claw and the two of them left him by himself.
I walked over and began to clean up after the two.
“Are you alright?” Callion asked. “Looked like you were about to fall there.”
“Yeah I’m fine, there was something in the way and I didn’t see it,” I lied, because I really didn’t know what the hell happened. “Your friends left huh?”
“Andre’s new friend had to go to her appointment, so he’s taking her to it now. We’ll probably meet up tomorrow. Say listen, I wanted to ask you, what you are doing say…this weekend?”
“More than likely, I’ll be working this weekend.” I continued wiping down where the others had sat.
“So, when is your next day off?”
“I don’t even know, I’ll have to check and see. Why are you asking all of a sudden about my day off?”
“Well, um, I was wondering, if and when you had your next day off, uh, if you wouldn’t mind going out on a date.”
Second shock of the day—did he just—oh, I know he didn’t just ask me what I thought he just asked me! Maybe if he would repeat what he said, it might just sink in. “What?”
“I wanted to know if you would like to go out on a date with me sometime. You act like you’re shocked by me asking.”
“In a way I am, that’s why I asked you to say it again.” I chuckled.
“Is it because I’m not black?”
“Of course not, I’ve dated men outside my race before. So, you wouldn’t be the first. I just thought you would never ask me…out of all people.”
“Do you mind sitting down?” He motioned for me to sit across from him.
We weren’t allowed to sit down at the tables during work. “I’m sorry but I can’t sit down with you right now.”
“Oh, I didn’t know.”
“That’s alright, I can stand right here and you can talk to me.”
“If that’s the case then…I will tell you this, every single day I come and I sit at this table. I do come for the muffin and the coffee but mainly…I come to see you. You always have a smile on your face, so sweet and kind you’ve always been to me. I often wished that I would get the chance to talk with you, like more than just a simple ‘hello’ but you were always so busy with work. When I saw you come into my shop the other day to ask me that question, I was so happy to see your face, even though you did get embarrassed by my answer. I wanted you to stay just a little while longer but I could tell that you were busy, so I came to see you this morning. I told my friend to leave, so I could ask you because he knows that I’ve wanted to get with you for some time now.”
I couldn’t believe—I just couldn’t believe that this was happening—telling me all this and he wanted to go out with me….ME of all the women in town, he wanted to go out on a date with ME….Roya Charles. Talk about a double whammy. “Let me go and check my schedule and I’ll be right back.” I slowly walked away, not wanting to make myself look obvious in front of Marsha because she’ll want to know what he said to me. I made a B line towards the back where the schedules were posted. I peered up at the bulletin board with its numerous posts from how to clean up a spill and to make sure to get out whatever leftover food you might have in the fridge.
The schedule surprised me, because my next day off wouldn’t be until this Saturday, which was during the poetry reading. I grabbed a thing of Styrofoam cups from the back, pretending we needed some up front, which we didn’t. I walked back towards the front as I saw him taking a sip from his coffee cup and that’s when I told him, “My next day off is this Saturday, maybe we can do something then?”
“Great, that sounds great. I can come and pick you up at your place, say around seven o’clock?”
“That’s fine. Let me give you my address.” I pulled off a slip of paper from my pad and wrote down my address on the back along with my phone number. “If there is any problem, I put my phone number down as well.”
“Good…well.” He stood up and I craned my neck a bit to look him squarely in the eye as he went into his jacket pocket, pulled out his wallet along with a pair of sunglasses which he put on. “How much do I owe you?”
“Um, let me see,” We both walked back to the counter, so I could total everything at the register. “Your total for today comes to wow, seventeen seventy six. That’s a first.” I smiled as he went into his wallet and handed me a twenty and then a five dollar bill.
“Keep the change, see you on Saturday.”
“Goodbye,” I called out as he strolled out of the café as my inner voices kept screaming like some teenager who was at her favorite music star’s concert. I just couldn’t believe my luck for today.
Chapter Six
After that, I tried to keep my mind on my work. I never let on that I had a date with the Greek God, even though Marsha acted like she suspected something was going on between us. We seemed to carry on a conversation a bit more than we usually did and even though I tried to keep it like a customer-employee sort of thing, it just couldn’t be helped. I found myself drawn even more closely to him even though I tried my best to keep away.
It seemed to have affected my dreams even more so…making them much more intense.
Like Wednesday night for example, the same dream with us being together in a bed of white. Instead, this time around, the room was covered in red satin from top to bottom while red curtains billowed out. I found myself in the middle of this large red bed poster bed with beautiful carved columns. The only thing I wore a pair of red lace boy shorts as I moved around within the silken sheets of the bed. I noticed over at a small table was a red bucket of champagne along with two glasses. I got up and went to pour myself a glass, looking over my surroundings.
When I went towards the curtains, I realized that I must be in some kind of villa. I didn’t go out onto the balcony because of course, I was half naked but from what I did see, it was a lovely sight to behold. The air smelled like the sea and I could see the sun was setting along the horizon. Suddenly, a strong arm wrapped itself around my waist, with a slow intake of breath against my shoulder blade as I felt his lips vibrate against my skin.
“Isn’t it beautiful?”
This was the first time I ever heard him speak more than one word and the only thing I could say was, “Yes, it sure is.” I took another sip of champagne and turned around to see his intense gaze.
His fingers traced along my cheek and towards my lower lip. “You look so gorgeou
s tonight and feel so good in my arms right now. Are you hungry?”
“Yes, I am a bit hungry.”
“Come, I’ll feed you.” We walked back towards the bed and he told me, “Stay right there.” He disappeared into the darkness while I sat on the edge of the bed to wait for him. It was a minute later, when he reappeared with a small platter in his hands with what looked like strawberries and in the middle was a medium size bowl of something that looked pink and creamy. He smiled and told me, “Move over a bit, so I can get into bed with you and once I’m in, I want you.” He patted the spot between his legs. “Sitting right here.”
Once he got in bed, opening his legs spread eagle, I crawled over his legs and sat in between them while laying up against his stomach.
He reached over to grab hold of the platter, pulling it right beside him while he took one of the biggest plumpest of the strawberries I’d ever seen and dipped it into the pink cream. He brought it to my mouth as I softly bit into the sweetness of the cream along with the juiciness of the berry. I realized that once my taste buds became accustomed to the taste of the cream that it was also made with strawberries. I’d never tasted anything so decadent in my life. I found myself moaning which for me was kind of weird to be moaning while eating something but this was just so good.
“Would you like some more?”
I nodded as he took the bitten berry and dipped it once again into the cream but instead of serving it to me…he gently brushed it along my lips until most of the cream was off the berry. He turned my head and his lips captured mine while his tongue licked and tasted me. I could feel him deepen our kiss while his hand glided down along my neck then around the back of my head to grab hold of my hair. His forcible embrace had me reeling. H suddenly stopped then grabbed another berry, dipped it heavily into the cream and started to trail it down in between the valley of my breasts, along my stomach, towards my belly button and put the berry in it.
I could feel him move up from behind me as I lay back onto the bed. I continued watching him as his gaze never left mine while he moved between my legs. His large hands grabbed my breasts and began to lick off the cream in between them. Every part of me just screamed in ecstasy when his tongue hit my skin while he hungrily ate the cream which he smeared under my breast and over my nipples which he tugged with his teeth. While he lowered his mouth down along my stomach, I immediately laughed because I was ticklish along there. He found it quite comical and I heard him chuckle while he went down to my belly button, nudging the berry as he munched on it. I looked down and saw him still looking at me while he ate that berry and I still found myself laughing.
