There's a Yeti in the Playground! Page 7

And we all watched from the window as Mr Graves dug all the cars out of the snow and cleared the entrance. And Maisie’s mum said, “Oh GOODNESS! That coat really DOES make him look like a YETI, doesn’t it? Poor LAMBS. You must have all been

  of me!”

And then she started giggling a bit. And then she started giggling a LOT.

And then Maisie said, “Mum. You WERE making some weird animal noises. Especially when Zach caught you in the YETI trap.”

And that made Maisie’s mum giggle even MORE. And then she made a YETI NOISE and we all BURST OUT LAUGHING just as the first school bus rolled through the gate.

Thank you to baby Albie for letting Mummy write this book during your nap time. Knowing you could wake at ANY SECOND has made this the most frantic Izzy adventure yet!

Thanks also to the dream team that is Tom and Nicola for the YETILICIOUS design and illustrations. You’ve done it again! It’s my new totally favourite cover!

And a huge, huggy thank you to my editor, Kirsty, for her “Maisie’s mum in the playground” suggestion (pure genius!). Love and pugs 4eva!

Being on book tour with my 10-week-old during “The Beast from the East” snowstorm inspired this book. So, I guess I’d like to say thanks to the Beast (trapping us in a train for ten hours gave me plenty of time to plot the book!).

And a huge THANK YOU to all the Crows and my agent, Becky, for going above-and-beyond during that snowy tour. I feel very lucky to have you all in my life. Thank you.

A special thanks goes out to Catherine Stokes (aka “Legs of Steel”) for taking on the Beast with her super-powerful high kick, rescuing me, baby and husband, and an entire carriage of train passengers. (That frozen door didn’t stand a CHANCE!)

Finally, I’d like to thank my husband, Andy, for his love and support. Never has one man made so many Sainsbury’s trips for coconut water and Danish pastries.
