The door to the suite opens; this time I will not be traveling alone on the train. Aaron is with me.
He has a tray full of food and bottles of water. He places it down on the gray table in front of us.
The train jolts as it moves forward, away from the training base. A lump appears in my throat. Out of the one hundred, only twenty of us remain. They sent those kids to the slaughter because the government doesn’t have the money to protect everyone.
We each have a price on our head, hunted by the highest bidder. This time the government won; who will win next time …
