“That sounds really great, but I’ll need to be back here tomorrow morning. I have to close things out. It will only take a day or two.”
“I’ll help. I can do that now. The fully powered Baba Yaga has the protectoress job under control.”
Damien placed his lips against her neck, moving over the tender skin. “Can I give you a commitment gift? It will be discreet and only make a small mark.”
Her nod made him harder than ever against her as he unleashed the barest flame against her throat. She screamed out in pleasure, nearly melting in his arms. Need throbbed like a heartbeat through him. He couldn’t wait to get her alone.
He raised his head, looked at the mark, and growled in irritation mixed with blind lust. “You’ve garnered the interest of the ancient ones it seems. I meant to give you the gift of easy flight. They had other ideas. Apparently, they made you immune to fairy enchantment instead.”
“Are these ancient ones the gods of all dragons?”
“Something like that,” Damien said.
“What’s the mark look like?” she asked.
“It looks delicious.” His mouth covered it, his tongue laving the intricate design. The woman in his arms twisted and wrapped her legs around his waist, moaning at what he was doing to her—to them. His desire had reached the point of nearly no control. “I’m about to take you where you stand no matter who’s watching.”
Jezibaba opened her eyes and looked at her dragon.
Yes, her dragon. Her lover. And her friend.
But her mate? Well, that was a decision for another day. She hoped.
“I do love you, Damien. I’ve never said those words to another male. Is that enough of a commitment for now?”
“I love you with all I am, Elenora. I’ll take whatever you’re willing to give me.”
Jezibaba smiled. “Let’s start with my heart and go from there. Though my body has been yours since you first touched me. You probably do own that already, but don’t go bragging about it within my hearing.”
“I accept the gift of yourself and will treasure every moment you let me share your life,” Damien whispered, honored that such a powerful creature wanted him back.
Her happy sigh was nearly his undoing.
“Bed,” he ordered. “I need to make you mine now.”
“Okay. But no v-jay-jay tattoos. I haven’t changed my mind. You can mark my neck, but nothing between my legs. Got it?”
Damien put his head on her shoulder and laughed. After all these years, she still believed something so silly. “Yes. I promise. Can I try to give you safe flight again? I don’t want you landing on anyone if we can prevent it.”
She nodded. “I guess that would be okay.”
Damien chuckled and squeezed. “Good. Take me to bed, woman. I don’t care where we go. Just get us there.”
“I wish you could be this amenable all the time.”
“Elenora…”
Her fingernails dug into his shoulders as his fingers dug into her hips. “I hope your mother wasn’t expecting her baby boy to come home. That woman really does scare me. She’s so… pleasant. No one that pleasant is totally good.”
“Elenora… take us to a bed. NOW.”
She squealed at the shocking smack on her backside and laughed when Damien’s hungry mouth covered hers again. Life with a dragon lover was certainly stimulating.
She lifted her hand, but it didn’t get farther than running through Damien’s hair. The ground was already under her back when she finally got around to transporting them.
Luckily for her now naked backside, beach sand was much, much softer.

About the Author
After 35 years of doing everything for a living except writing books, I finally published my first romance novel in March of 2011. Thirty plus novels later, I am living my own happily ever after as a full time romance author.
I do my best to give back to the universe by hanging out to write at local coffee shops and helping keep them in business. When not at one of those, I am sitting in my office at a monstrous black desk I bought from my sister, which my husband lovingly refers to as my “table”.
My work spans several romance genres, such as contemporary, paranormal, and science fiction. Humor is the most common element across all my writing. Addicted to making readers laugh, I include a good dose of romantic comedy in every book.
