  Carried Away

  Chapter One

  Declan

I leave my meeting exhausted. Williams Equipment has grown in the last ten years and with that growth, it may have become one of the most successful supplier in sports companies for football gear, but it’s also taken a toll on me. When I first started out, I wanted to make sure football players had the necessary gear to help prevent injuries. I played the game myself; one injury was all it took, and I was out. A torn ACL at the age of twenty-four. Before that happened, I felt like I could conquer the world. I busted my ass in college and was drafted into the NFL, built up my name and then two years later it was over. Just like that, my career was shattered. I could have gone into sports commentating or even become a coach, but I sat back and knew I wanted to do something to help prevent injuries on the field.

Now at the age of thirty-four, I’m ready to slow down. For ten years, I dedicated my life to my company.

I ease into my car, start it up with the push of a button, and leave the heavy Sterling Heights traffic. I could have called my driver to take me to the private airport that holds my personal jet, but something about driving and being in control helps me relax. The curves of the road, the way the car purrs. It helps ease the chaos that I seem to be surrounded by lately.

My phone rings through the system. I see the screen flashing “Dad” across the screen and as much as I want the peace and quiet while I drive, I can’t ignore this call.

“Old Man,” I say with a chuckle into the car audio system.

“Har fucking har, Declan.” I can tell he’s rolling his eyes and trying to muffle his laughter. He may be getting older in age, nearing his sixties, but he could run laps around some of these young guys.

  “Everything okay?” I question.

“Yeah, why wouldn’t they be? Can’t a dad call his son and check up on him?” He’s questioning me now.

“Just making sure, Pops,” I say to him.

  “You heading to South Carolina?”

“Almost to the airstrip now. How are you and Mom?” I ask as I pull into the road leading to the airport.

“We’re good. Your mother is trying to talk me into taking her to Aruba,” he grumbles.

“The house is there when you need it and if the jet isn’t available, you can always use Brian’s,” I tell him. Mentioning my brother to my dad. We’ve all done well for ourselves. Brian more than me. We never see him. He’s always off taking over some company or another.

“Don’t tell your mom that. We just got back not even a month ago and she’s ready to vacation again. My wallet needs a break from her shopping.” I can hear the laughter in his voice. My dad did good for himself while we were growing up. Now it’s their turn to live free and easy.

“Well, it’s yours whenever. I just got here, but I’ll keep you posted when the meetings are over.” I park the car waiting for us to say our goodbyes.

  “Love you, boy,” he says.

“Love you both,” I tell him, and I hit the end button and unfold from my car. I grab my sunglasses and put them on. The sun is blazing in Michigan this time of year.

I make my way into the private jet and look around. I’m stopped dead in my tracks when my eyes land on Kendall. It’s been two months. We’ve had the small touches, the secret smiles back and forth, and any time I can get close to her, I yearn for more. Yet every time I get closer to going after her, something in my fucking company comes up and derails me.

This time I’m not letting her get away. I want to see her hair fall down in waves that I know will glide in full curls all the way to her luscious ass. The employee issued uniform leaves little to the imagination in the way of her body and fuck, it’s one hell of a body. Hourglass figure and on the thicker side. Something I know I can hold onto while I take her from behind, on top, or watching the sway of her curves as she’s on top. Yeah, I’ve thought about taking her in every imaginable position possible.

On the rare occurrences I get to actually see Kendall and I catch her eyes, her porcelain skin flushes a bright red.

Yeah, Kendall Alexander will be mine after this weekend.

  Chapter Two

  Kendall

Declan Williams just made his way onto the airplane. The atmosphere changes immediately. I haven’t seen him in weeks. Apparently, he’s been at his operation headquarters. When that happens, I usually get to stay locally in Michigan unless I find a few shifts to take on other airlines. It’s been my normal since I started working as a flight attendant two years ago. When I graduated high school, I knew college wasn’t meant for me. I wanted to travel the world to see things before I settled down.

I was raised by a single mom and I saw her struggle day in and day out. She did it all on a single income, too. Family vacatio
ns were rare and usually just to the lake for an extended weekend once a year. I had a yearning to see as much as I could and as soon I could, I did just that. I’ve been to so many places now and even when I get to go back to those same areas, it’s still just as amazing.

“You stare any harder at Mr. Williams, you’re going to burn a hole through him,” Max, my fellow flight attendant and all-around friend, tells me.

“Can you even blame me?” I ask him as I blush. I’ve seen Declan looking my way more than once. Heck, we’ve even touched, and his touch lit my body on fire and gave me something to think about on those lonely nights. Every time I bring him his drink or ask if he needs anything, he’s usually on his laptop or has his phone pressed to his ear while on a conference call.

He’d sometimes make small talk with me, but, for the most part, it’s been rare. Today doesn’t seem to be any different.

“No, Honey. No one can blame you. He is one fine specimen,” Max says. I look at Declan again. He’s in a classic Armani suit that is charcoal in color and fits him to perfection. His crisp white dress shirt is covered by his suit jacket, but his tie is off and the top two buttons are undone at his throat. His face is all angles and you can see he has laugh lines around his mouth and eyes that go perfectly with his sun kissed skin. If a throat and neck could ever be sexy, his definitely is.

I break out of my reverie and work on my check list before we prepare for take-off. It’s the usual items: making sure the refrigerator is well stocked, snacks are prepared, and keeping everything nice and orderly.

I’m in the middle of stocking the bathroom, lost in my own thoughts when the door shuts suddenly. I look up and there’s Declan. He’s shut us in the bathroom. The jet has a roomier bathroom, but, with him and I both here, it’s close quarters. I can smell him, he’s that close. It’s a deep heady smell of orange and cinnamon, something that I’ve come to think of as only his.

“Mr. Williams….uh. How can I help you?” I question and I can feel the heat rising up from my neck with red blotchiness as it goes up to my cheeks. I’m blushing like a twelve-year-old girl who has a crush.

“Kendall,” he murmurs and then I’m backed up against the wall and his hands are on my hips as his mouth slowly lowers to mine and he says, “I’ve been waiting months to have you in my arms.”

My eyes land on his lips as I see his head dip and I feel his lips on mine. He’s hesitant at first, something I would have never expected in all of my daydreams I’ve had of him. Yet, I’m thankful that he’s making sure I’m okay with how things are going.

“Declan,” I whisper as his lips finally meet mine. His tongue comes out to trace my lips and, as I gasp, his tongue finds mine and we're lost to each other in our kiss. My hands come up to his shoulders, not to push him away but to bring him closer. When our kiss ends, our foreheads meet and his nose lightly grazes against mine while our eyes are still locked on one another.

Only the knocking on the door is really what has us backing away from each other.

“We’re about ready for take-off,” Max says through the door.

“Thank you, I’ll be right out,” I respond to him while looking up at Declan.

“Soon, Kendall. I’ll be seeing you soon,” Declan says and then he leaves me breathless. I stare at myself in the mirror, my face flush. I brush my fingertips across my lips that now have Declan’s taste lingering on them.

I straighten myself and head to my seat next to Max. As soon as I sit down, Max eyes me and wiggles his eyebrows. I dip my head down in a smile. He chuckles and then we both giggle.

  Chapter Three

  Declan

Fuck, after tasting Kendall, I didn’t want to leave. It physically hurt me to leave her there breathless. I wanted more of her, her cheeks were flushed with color. I want to know what she would look like spread out on my bed that I have in the back of the jet. Would that flush carry down to the tips of her nipples? What color would they be? Would they harden with just a breath being blown across them? Would she moan for my lips to be around them? Fuck, I need to have her.

After Max interrupted us, I turned and left. It hurt to leave her like that. I could see the need in her body. It made me wonder if she was wet for me and what she would taste like.

She’s meant to be mine and in the next few days, she will be.

I make my way back to my seat, buckle in, and fire up my laptop. The more work I get done now the better it will be when we land in South Carolina. The meeting I have with Jake will only solidify that I’m doing the right thing.

I pore over the emails that never seem to leave my inbox, look at the meetings that are scheduled, and sigh out loud. I have an assistant for a lot of these things, but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

What seems like hours later, but is only minutes from looking at my laptop, I tip my head back and rest my eyes.

My thoughts immediately go back to Kendall. I imagine her being mine for what seems like the thousandth time over the past three months.

What will she look like writhing in bed as I lick and suck my way down her body? Starting with her lips, grazing her neck, down to her nipples that I can’t wait to see what color they are, down to her pussy. Does she shave, does she have a small thatch of hair? I want to know and see it all.

I continue dreaming about Kendall and all the things I want to do to her for the duration of our flight. It’s only when my shoulder is being tapped that I realize I dozed off during my dream. Shit, I hope I’m not waking up with a boner I can’t hide.

I look up and see the woman of my dreams. Quite fucking literally.

“Hey, Declan. We’re preparing to land,” she says in a hushed tone.

“Thank you, Kendall,” I reply back. I look down in my lap where her gaze thankfully hasn’t been and see the hard on that’s tenting my pants.

She turns to leave, and I watch her, her perfect heart shaped ass is meant for me to grab onto as I take her from behind. Yeah, this isn’t doing anything to help my poor cock.

  Chapter Four

  Kendall

“On a first name basis now, are we?” Max questions.

“He asked me to call him Declan. What else am I supposed to do?” I volley back at him. He’s standing with his hand on his hip, his sandy blonde hair is styled in a sleek style. Not one lock is out of place and his eyes are shining with mirth.

“Doll, you call him whatever he wants you to. Especially in bed,” he winks and saunters off. I shake my head and try not to laugh. It’s hard when he’s a diva of his own making.

After everyone exits the jet, Max and I clean up the cabin before heading out ourselves.

Myrtle Beach is calling my name. I want the sand and sun on my body and to soak it all up.

Sure, we have beaches in Michigan, but not as close as I’d love them to be. The smell of the ocean, it calls to me. If I ever buy a place of my own, a beach house is where you can find me.

We head off of the jet twenty minutes later and place our order for an Uber driver to pick us up to take Max and I to our hotel room. We found a decent rate at a local resort.

I live at home with my mom. She’s been single for as long as I can remember. My father left when I was eight years old and now at the age of twenty-two, I still haven’t seen or heard from him. The day he left, I sat on our front porch with tears in my eyes as he left and never looked back. My eight-year-old self was devastated, but my twenty-two-year-old self now sees how amazing and strong my mom is.

So yes, at this age I still live at home. I was going to move out last year, but mom made a valid point. Why waste money when you aren’t even home five days out of the seven? Instead, I help her out with the utilities, so she doesn’t have to work so hard. She’s even dating now, and she looks damn good if I do say so myself. I only hope I look half as good as she does at her age. I’m glad she’s out dating and living the life she couldn’t when she was younger.

I look outside the window in the car we hired and see the shoreline. It’
s magical, the roll of the waves as they never stop. It could be a beautiful clear day or a storm rolling out in the distance and they’d still crash against the sand. It’s a timeless tranquility.

Since I save money on rent, I splurge on traveling and sight-seeing as much as I can. Max and I used to share a hotel room, then he started picking up dates and I’d stay out as long as necessary for him to have his fun. After the third time I said, “I love you, but I love my sleep more.” And from that point on we got separate hotel rooms. I went one step further and requested mine on a different floor. Sleep is something I value. It’s the one thing I won’t budge on.

We pull up to our hotel, more like a resort, and there are tourists moving in and out. You can see the shops in the downstairs lobby, a bar out through the double doors that lead to the pool and then, steps from there, is the ocean.
