Flame hung up on her and she wiped away tears that she hadn’t realized were on her face. Sometimes the craziness of a job could just get to the core of a person, and rip the sanity right out of them. Things had to change. Flame might’ve been right that the whole staff as well as Grace should stand by him, but in the end,
crazy was crazy,
and sometimes crazy people kill the normal ones around them.
“The Lord is my shepherd.” Grace straightened up and smoothed out her apron. “I shall not want.”
She cleared her throat and headed back.
“Mr. Bishop, would Mrs. Carson or Mrs. Bishop like some other pastries?” Grace asked as she returned to the dining room with a fresh pot of coffee.
