She kissed his chest. “I’m happy too. This way I don’t have to feel jealous of a ghost,” she said with a self-deprecating smile.
He chuckled and kissed the top of her head. “I love you, Leena, Leah… whatever name you choose to have. That little girl grew up to be the amazing woman I knew she could be,” he assured her.
She smiled and tilted her head back to kiss him. He pulled her into his arms, and though they had just finished making love, the passion between them flared again, and soon they were once again riding the wild waves of pleasure they always conjured when they were together.
Feeling his hard, ridged cock buried inside her was one of the best feelings she had ever experienced. Whenever she had the chance to ride it, she felt as if she was the queen of the world, powerful and unstoppable. The way the ridges of his cock rubbed against her inner walls was just mind-blowing. Her whole body shuddered in response, convulsing frantically around him, drawing him with her, down the path to paradise.
The following day, they were finishing their morning meal when someone stormed inside the house, without being announced.
“What more do you want from me, Zorban?” the man that had entered the room shouted. “All I’ve done all these years was to protect you, to keep you alive, while I forced the slow wheels of this planet’s ruling system to make the changes, we all wanted.”
Zorban got up and faced the older man. Seeing them facing each other, Leena knew she was looking at the king.
“Oh, please… you don’t expect me to believe that,” Zorban snarled.
“Why not, if it’s the truth? If I had acted hastily, I have no doubt, Jharb would have found a way to kill you.”
“I’m not a helpless baby, father. Killing me is not that easy, as your brother found out,” he pointed out.
“I wasn’t willing to take the risk. You’re my only son, and the only heir I could ever accept to my throne,” the king insisted.
“Why should I believe you?” Zorban asked again, not budging an inch.
Leena could tell both men were more alike than they realized.
“Here’s your changed law. You should pay attention to the date it was finally approved by all the council members,” his father said, smashing a document against his son’s chest.
For a moment, Zorban only stared at his father.
“Look at it!” his father ordered him, and he finally came out of his trance and looked at the paper.
The law had been revoked one day before Jharb died. Being mated was no longer mandatory to succeed to the throne.
“Getting you back was my primary goal, despite what you think,” the king said, a lot calmer now. “But I had to do things right so no one could protest or come up with excuses to revoke it,” he explained.
“You could have told me about this,” Zorban protested.
But the king shook his head. “You would have let your uncle know you no longer saw him as a threat and that would have been terrible.”
“Thank you, for doing this,” Zorban finally said.
“You’re welcome. Now, please, call your mother and let her know you’re staying home, where you belong.”
Zorban nodded with a smile.
The king turned to where Leena was, a silent witness of their encounter. “Leena, you have no idea how happy I am my son finally found you. You two deserve to be happy after all you’ve been put through,” he said, stretching his hands to take hers.
“Thank you, sir,” she replied, getting up and putting her hands in his.
“I’m happy to have you back, my child,” the king said, pulling her closer and hugging her. “Welcome home.”
With those words, the king left the house.
Shaking his head, Zorban turned to look at Leena. “I guess we’re staying,” he said, in a low tone, as if a bit worried. “I know we never discussed this possibility…” he added, but she interrupted.
“I don’t care where we are, as long as we’re together, Zorban,” she assured him, closing the distance between them and kissing him.
Epilogue
Zorban and Leena stayed in Thalia, but they didn’t forget the lives they had left behind on Earth. After establishing that Leena’s beloved dogs could safely be brought to Thalia, they went back for them.
At least, once a year after that, they would go to the blue planet and visit the friends they had made there and make sure all went well with the company Zorban had started with Matthew.
They had the best of both worlds, and when their children arrived, they made sure they loved both planets the same way. After all, they had found each other amongst the cold steppes of Alaska, and they didn’t want to forget that.
