“Just think, Dylan, in three days’ time, there could be no Syndicate left.”
“Or no us. I want that too, Jamie; just don't get your hopes up. Let us be cautious with our hope and see what happens first.”
A part of her felt the same way, but another part of her didn't want to hold back hope anymore. She had been going too long without it, and this was the best chance they'd had. Jamie wanted to believe that her trials were almost over. She needed to believe it, for all of their sakes.
Chapter Sixteen
“So, where are we going, Tevin?” Her voice quavered.
Molly didn't want to think about the situation. She knew that Tevin had said that everything would be all right, but it was hard to actually believe him. With everything going on, the Syndicate now wanting her dead, Molly wondered how much longer she had left in the world. It wasn't like Tevin was leaving the Syndicate; he was going to drop her off somewhere and leave her there. She didn't even know if he would ever come back.
“I told you, Molly, I'm taking you somewhere to keep you safe. It's the only way that I will be able to act the way I need to. I can't be worried about you the whole time. So, promise me when we get there that you will stay there until I come back to get you.”
“What if you don't come back?”
He looked at it strangely. “Why wouldn't I come back? Have you seen something?”
“What if something happens to you?”
His face softened a little bit, and he looked over at her from the driver side of the car. “Nothing is going to happen to me because I will be coming back to you. You're not going to get rid of me that easily.”
Even though Molly had seen them together in the future, and even though she had been so sure that it was true, now it was hard for her to believe it. Their timeline had deviated so far from where it needed to be. Had things changed? Had she changed them?
“I just need you to come back, Tevin.”
“Yeah, wouldn't want to lose your future husband before you get married, huh?”
He said it joking, but she didn't find it very funny. It was too close to the truth, and Molly was fidgeting uncomfortably next to him.
“You don't have to say things like that.”
He got serious for a moment. Tevin apologized and said that he wasn't trying to upset her. He was just trying to make light of the situation because he wanted to relieve some of the pressure that they were both feeling. The thickness in the air between them was disturbing.
The two did not speak for another fifteen minutes, and Molly found the lull of the truck too intoxicating. She fell asleep, and only when they left the smooth road for bumps, did she wake up and look around. She was surrounded by unfamiliar woods, and she sighed loudly. Molly didn’t like not knowing where she was and what their next step was.
“What are we doing here? And where is here?”
“We have to ditch the car. It’s not going to take us any further. Are you up for a ride?”
“I'm always up for one from you.”
Molly had come to her own conclusions. No more waiting. There was no way that she was going to let him leave to go back to those horrible people without being with him completely. Molly had waited too long, and she could no longer keep it going. Whether her future had changed or not, there was part of it that she wanted to experience before it did. She had literally been waiting for Tevin for most of her life, and she couldn’t walk away from him now.
She clung to the back of him as he flew her a few miles into the woods. When they started to go down, she didn’t see where they were going. There was no cabin, house, anything that looked like it would be a place to hold them. Molly wanted answers but had to wait.
When they landed, he was back to his old self, and she smiled at him. It wasn’t because he said anything; it was just because she always wanted to smile when she looked at him. Tevin meant a lot to her, and even though everything was so confusing, some things hadn’t changed. Her feelings for Tevin were one of them. Being with him for the past few days had only solidified what she already knew. He was the man she was supposed to be with.
“Where are you taking me? I hope you don’t think I am going to be able to stay out here in the open. I’ve never been good at survival type stuff. I am not really that good with camping.”
He chuckled, and before she knew what was happening, he had whisked her into his arms and crushed her lips with his own. The movement caught her by surprise, and Molly gave in immediately. It was the kiss, the touch, that she had been looking for. She wanted all of him, and given the way he was kissing her, she was going to get it.
About time, she thought to herself.
When he pulled away, she whined a little bit, and even though Molly didn’t like the sound of it, she couldn’t help herself. No more could she do the start and stop game with him. It was too much, and her nerves couldn’t take it anymore.
“You get me all worked up, Molly. You haven’t even let me show you where you are going to be staying.”
Molly shrugged. She didn’t care anymore. All she was worried about was what was going to happen next. She couldn’t think about after he left. Molly had to think about a way to convince him that he was supposed to come back to her. There was nothing else that was going to do, and instead of listening to his apologies about the moves he was making, Molly decided that she was just going to shut him up another way. She remembered well how his eyes had bugged out of his head when she had opened the curtain to the shower and let him see her. Molly wanted that same look again.
Before he could put his foot in his mouth anymore, Molly started pulling her clothes off. If he insisted on being stubborn, then she was just going to have to do what she could to make sure that her way looked better.
He grinned at her, and then his eyes flashed with need. She only had her shirt off, and already, she felt like he was going to jump on her. Molly liked the feeling, and she took a step back so she could prolong it a little bit longer. Molly knew that once his hands were on her body, he would take over and Molly’s will would be lost.
“What are you doing? We are out here in the middle of nowhere.”
Molly pulled her pants down, walking out of them while she shrugged.
“I think that you need to stop thinking and just start feeling, Tevin. When this is all over, we can do everything properly if you want to, but right now, I want to do things the wrong way. I want you now, right here on the dirt and grass. We are animals, after all.”
He grinned and came towards her. Molly’s body was suddenly shaking. It was quite possible that it was the determination in his eyes. Maybe it was something else. Molly didn’t know for sure, except that she was ready for whatever was going to come next.
Chapter Seventeen
Molly sighed as his hands made their way around her waist. She just had her panties left on. He hadn’t waited for her to get all the way naked. Instead, he had pulled her close and blamed her for making him go crazy.
Molly didn’t mind. She wanted him any way she could get him, and there was always a huge turn on to a man that couldn’t control himself when he was around her. It made her feel like she was the most desired woman in the world. Much like her dreams had made her feel.
She was the one that had started it. She had taken her clothes off to get his mind on her and her alone. It had worked, but at the same time, she was unable to handle the attention of Tevin.
He was taking it to the extreme and she felt all of her senses being overwhelmed at once. His lips were on hers again, his hand between her legs, while one was rubbing and pulling at her beasts. It was just too much, and she pushed back. He growled at her, and Tevin wanted to know what was wrong.
“Nothing, nothing is wrong. It’s just a lot. You’re a lot. I have only had you in my dreams, and now I am wondering if I can handle you at all.”
He chuckled and sucked on her neck for a moment before he asked her if she wanted him to slow down. Of course, he didn’t want to hear
that she did. It was obvious that there was something going on and she was just going to have to go with it.
“Well, you are the one that has seen the future, Molly. I am just along for the ride, so if we are to marry and have children, I suppose you will handle it just fine. More than that, I have a feeling that you’re going to like it. You like sex, right?”
Molly shrugged and ignored the intense eyes looking down at her. “I mean, I guess I do. I know that I want to do this with you.”
Tevin wanted to know what she meant, and Molly didn’t want to talk about it. There had already been enough of that as far as she was concerned. It was hard for her to figure it all out. She just wanted to feel, and once it was all said and done, she would be able to breathe again. He was right. It had already happened, so of course, it would be fine. Molly still remembered the feel and length of him, and it made her nervous. She’d seen it all in the shower, and her face was red with the memory. He had been so large…
Molly wasn’t going to think about it. She initiated another kiss, and he fell for it, groaning as their bodies became one. Tevin pulled her down to the ground with her on top of him. The boldness that she’d had in the beginning was quickly starting to evaporate. He pulled her down, and she felt his body under hers, distracting her from it all. It was exactly what she needed.
Things moved fast from there. One minute, he was pressing her down on his clothed hardness, and then the next, Tevin was free of clothing. She looked down when she felt his skin on hers and couldn’t believe it.
“How did you?”
He didn’t answer but actually tore her panties off in one swipe. She wanted to say something, tell him that he was going to have to give her more time, but he wasn’t listening. Tevin had that hunger back in his eyes, and though she was a bit worried, she knew that this was exactly where she was supposed to be.
Then he was pressing up inside of her, and it was all just too real. Of course, she knew that it was going to happen, but Molly had not been prepared.
The man was inside of her, broken through her defenses, in a matter of moments. She was doing her best to try and pull herself together, but the scream was still echoing in the trees around her. Molly couldn’t help it. As much as she had told herself to brace, it had been far more than she’d imagined.
It didn’t help that he was looking down at her like she had somehow lost her mind.
“What?”
She waved him off and clenched around him, trying to get used to the feel of the invasion. The pain was gone, but she was still unsure how it was going to go from there. She was nervous that maybe her visions were wrong. Feeling him inside of her, stretching her to accommodate his size, made her disbelieve her visions. Maybe they were wrong and it wasn’t Tevin after all.
“How are you…the way you acted in the bathroom; I would have thought that you were well versed in all of this…”
He was shocked, and she didn’t want to have to explain it all to him. It would make her feel worse, and she was feeling weird enough. It was hard enough to keep her composure, balanced on top of his large body, with his large piece inside of her.
The next thing she knew, she was starting to slowly move. All conversation came to a grinding halt and he was moaning underneath her.
Molly felt the changes almost immediately. No longer was there any pain, but there were certainly some parts of her that felt stretched to the max. She made a few clumsy attempts to ride him before she got the hang of it, but about that time, she realized something.
The orgasm came out of nowhere, and she was left crying out and tightening up all around him. She restricted her movement because of the intense sensations. It was too much, and she couldn’t go on. Molly needed a moment, but one was not to be had.
Tevin threw her from one orgasm to another before she was shaking and couldn’t barely move. She was done, and she said as much.
Afraid that he would argue with her, Molly was surprised when he released his seed moments later.
“I didn’t think you were ever going to be done. I have wanted to explode for at least twenty minutes.”
She giggled at his answer and then did her best to make it up to him. She squeezed on Tevin’s length before he popped her off of him and laid her in the grass. He was breathing hard, but he had the biggest smile on his face. She loved the way it looked and how relaxed he appeared.
“So, seriously, Tevin, where are we staying?”
The smile faltered some, and he shrugged. “It’s up here. Let’s get dressed and I will show you the place. It has some magic on it so that you can’t see it from here. We’re not far.”
She agreed and followed him deeper into the woods. At that point, after what they had shared together, she was starting to think that she would follow him anywhere.
The cabin came out of nowhere, and though she wanted to know what witch he had gotten to put it up, she didn’t bother. Molly was tired on a whole other level. She felt settled, relaxed, better than she had felt in a long time.
The place was small, a little dusty, but a few spells later, it was close enough to livable. There were a few things in the cupboard, but it was clear that it wouldn’t be a place that she would stay at for very long. Molly wanted to know what was going to become of her, what was going to become of them?
There wasn’t much time to think about any of that, though. Tevin seemed to know that she was having a hard time with it, and he was quick to get her mind on something else. That something else was sex, obviously, and before she could really do much else, he had dragged her to the small bedroom and mentioned something about trying out the new bed. It was dusty, much like the rest of the cabin, but Molly wasn’t worried. He started taking his clothes off and all other thoughts seemed to cease altogether.
Chapter Eighteen
“You don't know how much I'm dreading leaving you, Molly. I really don’t want to go.”
“Why are you dreading it?”
“Because I don't want anything to happen to you. You aren’t safe right now. I don’t like it at all.”
“Well, you're not letting me do anything, so I'm not sure how you think I'm going to be hurt.”
Tevin did not want to leave the bed. What happened between them was far more perfect than anything he had experienced before. It made him believe that they possibly were meant to be together. It certainly felt that way when he was inside of her. It was like he was supposed to be there the whole time, like she was made for him. It wasn’t something that he was easily going to be able to walk away from.
But he knew he had to get up and he had to go to Cole. He had to lie to him to his face, tell him that he had, in fact, killed Molly. Not only that, he had to pretend like he didn't care that she was dead. He had never had to lie to Cole before, and he wasn't sure if he was even going to be able to. Tevin feared that the words would stutter off his lips and not come out properly.
One last kiss and he told Molly that he would be back as soon as he could. Tevin was hopeful that by the end of the day, decisions would be made and it would all be worked out. He had to not only lose the loyalty that he had to his boss, but also to all of the people that he had been living with the last few years while he was with the Syndicate. He wasn't going to lose just one friend, but all of them. Not only that, but it also looked like he was going to have to actually help kill them as well. How could he do any of those things and look himself in the mirror in the morning?
It made him feel empty inside and left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Tevin left quickly and wondered how he would be able to live with himself after today. Never before would he have imagined that he would go to do what he was going to do. It was not in his character. End of the day, though, it was the Syndicate or Molly, and Tevin knew that he did not want it to be Molly. Tevin was going to do what he could to make sure that it was not her.
When he got there, the whole vibe of the place was hard to not be reactive to. Everyone was on edge, and even though he had
been there for years, he got a few strange looks when he asked to speak to Cole. He was even checked for weapons like he was coming in there to attack him. None of it made sense, though he had to imagine that his boss was on edge. What he didn't know for certain was if they were told to check him specifically or if they were told to check everyone.
By the time he got into see Cole, there was too much on his mind. Tevin was convinced that all he had to do was talk to him and things would work out. He would understand what needed to be done, and maybe he could even talk some sense into him. They had worked together for many years, and there was a possibility that whatever friendship they had made together would translate into him actually listening and taking what he said to heart. That was what Tevin wanted to believe anyway.
The moment he saw the look on his boss's face, he knew that it wasn't going to be the case. Cole had a wild look in his eyes, and there were deep dark bags underneath. It looked like he hadn't slept in days or weeks, possibly even months. It was hard to look at him like that, and he finally asked Cole if he was all right.
“All right? All right? How the hell can I be all right, Tevin? We’re under attack if you haven’t noticed.”
They were always under attack in one way or another, so Tevin was having a hard time noticing what made it so different this time around. It all was complicated and messy as far as he was concerned. Why did Cole take it so personally, and why was he acting so strange about it?
“So, what would you like me to do?”
“Did you do what I asked? Is that girl taken care of?”
Tevin agreed that she was. He didn't elaborate or say anything else because he never would have before. It certainly wasn't the first time that he was told to get rid of somebody without any real reason as to why he would do that. There was no difference this time around, either. He just made it appear that he had done what he had been told to do, with no questions asked. Like always.
