“Our life and the baby you’ve given us complete me. They make me love you more than I even believed possible.”
He snuggles into my chest, a fresh yawn escaping his lips. “You’ve given me everything, Dodge. Everything. I’m just glad I’m able to produce children for you.”
“Children?” I chuckle. “You want more than one?”
“I’ll make as many as you let me make.” His voice is sleepy, and I know he’s close to checking out on me.
“Rose could use a little brother,” I say. “Maybe we’re making him right now…”
Nathan cuddles closer to me. “Maybe we can wait until Rose is at least walking before we do this again.”
I kiss his neck. “We’ll see. I can’t make any promises. Keeping my hands off you is proving to be difficult.”
At that moment, a cry comes over the monitor. “Just remember this moment when you want another one,” Nathan says as he starts to get up.
“No, babe. You go to sleep. I’ll get her.”
Nathan smiles as he closes his eyes and rests his head back on the pillow. After everything he’s been through over the last nine months, I want to make sure he’s taken care of. In a way, we’ve both been chasing a dream that we never thought was possible, and now that we’ve found our place, I’ll make sure it’s the happiest home he’s ever had.
