Acknowledgments
The experience of writing a debut novel is a lot like the experience of riding the Coney Island Cyclone, a thrilling combination of excitement and joy, nerves and frustration, culminating in the realization that you’re just holding on for dear life. Here are the folks who helped me hang on.
Thank you to the remarkable, Heather Howland, for taking a chance on me and believing in the story enough to keep me believing. To the wise and hilarious, Vanessa Mitchell, for loving the story and guiding me through its twists and curves at top speed. You are amazing. To my friend, Sue Winegardner, for all her patience and terrific contributions to the story and Candace Havens for her valuable insights. And to everyone at Entangled for their talent and encouragement.
To my friends and incredibly brave first readers, Robin Bielman, Elley Arden, Miranda Liasson and Melissa Smith-Beckner. Thank you for being lovely and talented and honest and kind. And to my glorious CP, the oh-so-talented, Samanthe Beck, thank you for saving my sanity and being a friend whose generosity knows no bounds. How lucky am I?
And finally, to my boys and their Big Daddy for being cool when I failed to be, for enjoying every frozen pizza and wearing every mismatched sock, and for loving me as much as I love them. Always.
