Mick is spot on with his timing, and arrives at my door with his arms spread wide and a huge grin on his face, “Finley fucking Parker!” He cheers, patting me on the back.
“Mick.” I laugh and we leave the hotel, driving in a limo that Mick has decided to rent.
“What the fuck is this?” I look around as Mick and I are driven towards the stranger’s house party.
Mick gestures around him, laughing. “I figured you would be used to travelling in style.”
“Yeah, but a limo isn’t my type of style.” I chuckle. It’s not like Mick can’t afford it, he’s from an old, wealthy family and has never had to worry about money. Not that I have, I know I had a privileged upbringing because of my dad, but Mick’s family is a whole other level. His family have been loaded for generations and Mick loves every bit of living the life of luxury. When I first met him, I actually hated him but Mick has a habit of growing on you.
When we pull up in front of the building, I see it’s a penthouse apartment and it’s only five minutes away from the one I used to own, many years ago. Mick slaps me on the shoulder, encouraging me to follow him because he knows what I’m like turning up to parties of people that I don’t know. I have no idea how people will act, so I put on my shades and hope that with the other famous bodies at the party, I blend in.
The music can be heard as we climb the building in the elevator, the base thumping and it hits us as the doors slide open and I get my first glimpse of what’s to come. Beautiful women walk by us, some in bikinis and others in skimpy dresses that leave little to the imagination. A smile spreads across my face as we step out from the life and Mick laughs. “Yes! My man Finley is here!”
Within minutes, Mick has a drink in my hand and a crowd of women surrounding us. They laugh at everything we say, and keep running their fingers along us, trying to touch us at all times. I’m not interested at all, but I play along with these boring fucking games.
“I need another drink.” I announce, getting up from my seat.
“Sit down!” Mick tries to grab me back down in my seat. “Get someone to bring you a drink, you’re Finley Parker!”
But I need to get away from these women. “No, I’ll get it myself.”
I pull away from the women’s desperate hands, and head to the bar. Glancing at the time, I see its 7:12pm and I let go of a frustrated sigh. I want to get out of this place.
“Well hello stranger.” My hand pauses before my drink reaches my lips. I would know that voice anywhere.
“Sky.” I turn to look at my pretty friend and she sweetly smiles at me.
“It’s good to see you Finley.” Her blue eyes linger on my chest, and I laugh because I have memorable proof that Sky loves to touch my chest. Sky and I were friends with benefits, and the benefit part was great.
“You too, Sky.” I take the sip from my glass, not removing my eyes from her. “So what have you been up to?”
Sky laughs. “After you went back to England, I thought that I might get a call to join you on one of your tours.”
“Ah shit Sky.” I cringe. Fuck!
“It’s fine.” Sky giggles. “You can make it up to me tonight.”
I don’t know what to think, so I take a bigger gulp from my glass.
“Oh, so I see the rumours of you and little pop princess Riley are true.” Sky pouts.
“No, we’re not together.” My voice sounds a little harder than I was expecting.
Sky’s smile widens, her hand resting on my shoulder. “Then we are free to play.”
I think about it, realising her words are true. Riley and I aren’t together, and she’s made it clear enough that nothing will ever happen, so what’s stopping me from enjoying myself with my Sky?
She takes my hand, and with a seductive grin she leans in close. “I’ve missed you Finley.” Sky leans up on her tip toes, removes my glasses and kisses me with force. “Your place or mine?”
I look at Sky, her blonde hair and blue eyes so familiar to Riley’s, then I find myself nodding. “Mine.”
Mick gives me a thumbs up as I walk to the lift with Sky right behind me, I know his limo is still waiting outside and that Mick will have no problem with me borrowing it for a little while. Sky stands close by as the doors close, biting down on her lip as she runs her fingers over me. She continues to stay close as we exit the building and near the waiting limo. Mick’s driver stands outside as soon as he sets eyes on us.
“Mr Hugo rang me to let me know you will be wanting a ride back, Mr Parker.” He opens the door for us. I let Sky get in first and when I join her, she’s silently laughing.
“Mick sure does love to go overboard.” She giggles, looking around the limo as Mick’s driver shuts the door behind me.
“Where to?” The driver asks.
“My hotel.” I answer as Sky rubs her hand on my leg, letting it slowly creep up toward my cock.
The driver then puts up the privacy screen, and Sky takes full advantage. She begins to lick on my neck and rub her hand over my cock and by the time we get to my hotel, I’m happy to get out of the limo and put some space between Sky and me. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, Sky is a beautiful girl and in the past, I couldn’t keep my hands from her whenever she decided she wanted to fuck but now it’s different. Thankfully, Sky seems to sense that I need a little space from her and keeps her distance from me until we get to my hotel room. When we step through the door, she’s all on me like a fly on shit.
“Finley.” She sighs against my mouth, trying to rip my shirt from my body. “I want to feel you.”
I’m still not feeling this, but my dick is standing to attention, so I roll with it. Sky continues to kiss me and her mouth travels down my neck. I help her to remove my shirt and she kisses my chest, letting her hands wander and when I look down and see the top of her blonde hair, I imagine its Riley who is here and not Sky. My cock gets harder, now I think about the girl who I wish was in Sky’s place. Suddenly, Sky drops to her knees and desperately unfastens my jeans, freeing my rock hard cock and she groans loudly.
“I’ve missed this.” And she greedily wraps her little mouth around the tip and licks. I let go of a moan, tipping my head back as Sky sucks. Glancing down, I see Riley sucking me off, but when Sky’s head tilts up to look at me the fantasy fades. I zone in on her eyes and try to replace them with Riley’s. Even though they both have blue eyes, Riley’s are brighter and they sort of shine, but Sky’s don’t. They’re just blue and the image of Riley on her knees is ripped away and instead Sky is looking up at me, my cock in her mouth. She is hungry for my cock, but I pull away and tuck my cock back inside my jeans.
“You need to go Sky.”
“What?” She stands, wiping her mouth and looking confused.
I run a hand through my hair, frustrated with myself. “You need to go.”
I’m so fucking pissed off with myself! Why the fuck did I do this?
“This because of Riley?” Sky asks, now looking as angry as I feel.
“No.” I answer louder than I was expecting, but I don’t like the way Sky says Riley’s name.
“Then what?” Sky holds her arms out either side of her, walking towards me and I notice she glance down at my cock again. I don’t blame her, we used to have great sex and I did kind of lead her on tonight but I don’t want her anymore. Riley has rooted herself inside my head far too much for me to focus on anyone right now.
“I don’t have to give you an answer.” I snap at Sky. “Just get the fuck out.”
Sky scowls at me, picking up her bag and stomping towards the door.
“Take Micks limo home.” I shout as she opens the door.
“Oh, I’m not going home.” She shouts, slamming the door behind her.
I walk towards the bed, wondering what the fuck just happened and when I spot the wardrobe door open, I decide to get the fuck out of here. I grab my suitcase, throwing everything I own into it and call a taxi. I’m leaving New York tonight.
Chapter E
ight
“Oh my god April!” I clap happily. “This song is amazing, I think it’s my favourite.”
April laughs. “Yeah, I have a soft spot for this one too.”
The song has a typical Lunacy feel to it, but fits me perfectly too and I just know it will be a hit. The only hitch is that it’s a heavy love song, and obviously those that will be singing the smitten lyrics are Finley and I. I have a strong feeling Finley is going to really enjoy himself with this one, because by the buzz surrounding us all today in the studio, this song will be our first collaboration. The song is all about a boy and a girl, they’re friends but the guy realises he has hidden feelings for his friend when she starts to date someone else.
“Fuck me Riles!” Liam looks at me with big, wide eyes. “Your voice makes this song one of our best.”
We’ve been going through the many songs April and the guys roughly wrote before getting in contact with me, the band lightly playing their guitars and Finley and me singing and it’s made the songs come alive. I’ve suggested some slight changes and together, we’re coming along amazingly.
“The new songs without you in it are going to sound boring now.” Caden sulks, strumming his guitar.
“Fucking hell.” Finley rolls his eyes. “I’m not good enough anymore.”
“Can we go through it again with the changes?” April asks, after I made a few suggestions with the lyrics. Her eyes are swimming with dreams of love and it has me eager to find out the public’s reaction.
I look over at Finley and see he’s watching me, the usual flirtation has been knocked down a little since we were together in New York and I have to wonder if he’s changed his mind about me. I ignore the slight disappointment that creeps in my veins.
“Let’s do it.” Finley winks and Caden begins on the guitar. Finley starts his singing, and his intense gaze burns into me. He looks right at me as his voice fills the room, the sexy low tone gives me goose bumps and I then sweep in with my own vocals. When the chorus hits, our voices entwine. Liam, Caden and April fade away and it’s just Finley and I here. I watch him, watch me, as we get into our characters for the song and when we’re finished I struggle to look away and break the spell Finley has me under.
“Wow.” Sighs April and I awkwardly laugh.
We make arrangements to meet back tomorrow and I quickly leave, wanting some space from Finley but the rest of the week is exactly the same. We rehearse the songs so much, that I don’t need the sheet of paper I copied it down onto. I have memorized them as if they are a part of me now. Cassie even tags along once during the week, to give us her own opinion because I always value what she thinks. By the end of the week, we have two songs recorded and ready, and we’re all agreed on which one we want to release as our new single. It’s the one Finley and I were singing at the beginning of the week and had April pining for romance, and we titled it, ‘You Have To Be Mine.’
“I think we need to give the fans a hint to what we’ve been up to.” Finley suggests.
“Yeah, they’re already guessing.” Liam laughs, looking down at his phone. “But they don’t know if you guys are dating, or if we’re making sweet music.” He adds, pointing to me and Finley as he wiggles his eyebrows.
Liam is right though, my fans have been commenting on almost all of my social media posts wanting to know if I’m with Finley Parker. I haven’t answered any of them, and I don’t know if that’s made it a little worse. There’s a hype surrounding us and it’s only getting bigger, but that will be good for sales in the end.
“What are you thinking?” I ask Finley.
“Grace uses Facebook and Instagram for everything, and it helps with her modelling. She’s an expert in creating posts that get people excited.” Finley explains, the admiration for his sister evident. “I think we should take a photo while we’re recording and post it.”
“Let’s do it now!” Caden stands, grabbing his guitar. “We need to get in there and do a run through together anyway.”
Caden speaks sense, and I stand to follow him. “It’s a good job I have my face on today.”
“Your face?” Liam looks at me horrified.
“She means her make up.” April giggles.
Finley hands April his phone. “Take a few shots while we’re in there?”
“Sure.” She positions herself to get the perfect shot of all four of us and while we perform, ‘You Have To Be Mine,’ April snaps away, but I soon forget and become swept up in the song. Finley even approaches my side, bumping his waist onto mine and pointing to me as he sings.
“I knew I had to have you.” He sings, casting a cheeky glace to me. “I have to make you see me.”
I come in with my part, and the song takes it up a notch. “He isn’t you, but why did it take me being with him for you to see me.”
The song comes to an end and the guys cheer and holla. We leave the recording section, which is separated from the rest of the room by just a glass barrier. April hands over Finley’s phone with a wide smile. “There’s some great pics.”
Finley scrolls through the photos that April has taken of us, his smile gets bigger the more he looks at the photos and I become really eager to look at them myself.
“Let me look.” I insist, standing beside Finley and looking down at his phone. I see photos of all four us, Liam and Caden are standing either side of Finley and me. Finley is looking right at me but I have my eyes closed, hitting the high note but as Finley flips onto the next picture, he laughs a little.
“This is my favourite.” And that’s because on this one, we’re pretty much the same but this time I am looking right back at Finley. It looks as if we’re smiling at one another as we sing and I have to admit that it is a sweet photo.
April looks over his shoulder. “Look at the next one, I zoomed in.”
And when Finley does switch to the next picture that April had taken, I’m taken back by how much we look like a couple.
“Holy shit.” Finley laughs. “We would make a good looking couple Riley.”
“Let me see.” Caden runs up to us and when he sees the photo of Finley and me, grinning at one another as we sing into the microphones. “Yeah, you gotta share this one.”
“No, I think we should share the one of all four of us.” I insist but Finley shakes his head.
“I will share the one of all four of us on the bands Instagram but I’m sharing this one of just us two on mine.” He declares with a smug grin. “The fans will love it.”
“I don’t know.” I wonder, watching as he begins to share the photo but Finley pauses.
“Why not?” He asks.
I actually don’t know my answer. It is a great photo of us. “I feel like your tricking your fans into thinking we’re together.”
Finley frowns. “I didn’t think of it like that.”
“You two have a lot of attention on you.” Liam agrees. “But, it’s doing great for both the band and you Riley.”
“I know, but I don’t like fooling everyone.” I admit.
Finley wraps an arm around me, shielding me from everyone else in the room and guide me away from them to create some space between us, and them. “I won’t share it if you don’t want me to.”
I look up at his face, and I’m happy to see him genuine instead of his usual jokey self. “No, you can share it.”
“Really?” He smiles and fuck me he looks cute.
“Yes.” I laugh. “But make sure they know we’re friends.”
“Ouch.” He hits his chest. “Hitting me with the friend zone again.”
“Shut up.” I lightly slap him on the chest and he laughs as he continues to share the photos.
“Look.” He shows me the photo of the two of us, he’s changed it to black and white which just adds to the cuteness. It has the caption, ‘A new friend,’ and I have to laugh. “It is ok to share?”
“Yes.” I giggle, not able to stop myself as he shares the photo and it instantly begins to receive likes and so many comments.
<
br /> “Yeah, even with the caption, you guys haven’t escaped the romance rumours.” April laughs from across the room, glancing at her phone. I’m guessing she’s reading the same comments as I am.
Finley shrugs. “I did try.”
But as he walks away and joins Caden, he doesn’t look let down by the results and I shake my head. I then receive a text from Cassie.
Cassie: Girl! That photo is blowing up!
Me: I know
I laugh as I send the text, now able to see the funny side. We can’t help what people think is going on between us and it seems no matter what we say, everyone will always have their own opinion. Perhaps I should join Finley, and not worry about what people think is going on between us?
Cassie: It’s a cute pic, you should rethink getting with him. You two would have gorgeous babies!
Shaking my head, I tuck my phone back into my jean pocket and join the guys, who are sat with the music producers, finalizing the song.
“Let me take a pic of you sat on Fin’s knee,” Liam jokes. “That will get the people buzzing!”
“Shut up.” I laugh, passing him to sit on the empty chair, which is next to Finley.
“You all free for a couple more hours?” Kenny, the producer asks us.
We all look to one another, nodding. “I have nowhere to be today.” I answer.
The guys all agree, letting it be known that they’re also free for the rest of the day.
“Cool,” Kenny nods. “I’m thinking we can start on the second song and finish it up tomorrow.”
“Sounds like a plan.” Finley jumps up and smiles down at me before turning and walking into the recording section. I do glance down and watch his surprisingly plump arse in his dark jeans as he goes and I’m horrified when Caden notices me. He grins massively, pointing to me and laughing.
“Naughty.” He whispers. I give him a glare as I stand, walking in front of him as I join Finley and Liam, but Caden does not let it go. “You were looking at his ass!” He whispers near my ear. “Does that mean you like him?”
