Jewel of the Sun's Blood Destiny Page 16

He took the photos, set them on the coffee table and picked up her hand. “Come here.”

The doorbell rang, but she didn’t want to get up and answer it. She didn’t want to deal with people right now.

  “Shall I get it?”

“No. They’ll figure I’m lying down or something and go away.”

  “It might be a friend.”

“No. They didn’t stay long after the funeral. The old people kind of freaked them out. You know how off the humor can get. What if they started dropping like flies type stuff.” She gave him a little smile, but her heart tightened. “I didn’t mind really. This isn’t about me. It’s about my grandfather and those who loved him.” She sniffled, took a deep breath and let it out. “I would like to go change into something more comfortable. Would you mind?”

  “Do it.”

She got up and headed toward the kitchen, but stopped and looked at him. “Elan.” She waited for him to look at her. “I am glad you came. I have no disillusionments about what we do tonight. Finality is something I’m coming to terms with.” Without waiting for a response, she left.

Upstairs in her apartment, Cassandra unzipped her dress and hung it on a hanger. The steps were mechanical, but she needed them. Like she needed to feel one with Elan one last time. She choked on the sudden sob and slipped her bra and panties off.

Brushing at the tears, she went to fix herself something to help calm her. She needed to be calm when she went back downstairs and brought him up to her bed.

In the kitchenette, she turned the burner on under the teakettle and filled a metal tea bag with the bay leaf tea mixture she found stashed in her grandfather’s pantry. She’d gone looking for it after she’d come home from Elan’s the other day. Her grandfather had shoved it in the back corner on the top pantry shelf.

She reached for the kettle when it began to steam and poured the water in the cup over the tea bag. It smelled good. After grabbing a napkin and wiping her nose, she dipped the bag a few times and set it aside. When she turned to take the cup to the shower with her, she dropped it. “Damn it, Elan!”

Before she could protest his silent approach, he had her cradled in his arms, taking her mouth with a hunger she matched. She wrapped her arms around his neck, uncaring where he took her. He set her on her feet in her bedroom and pulled her against his hardness.

She broke off the kiss and reached down to free his cock. He didn’t stop her. She pushed his pants down and kneeled to untie his shoes. He kicked them aside, but didn’t reach for her as she thought he might. She didn’t want him to. She wanted…no, she needed to do this her way.

With her hands on his muscled calves, she skimmed up and gripped his thighs as she ran her tongue up and down the length of shaft. The musky scent of him filled her senses and she felt the throbbing need rush through her and wetness between her legs. Circling the plump, hot head, she enveloped him between her lips and drew him into her mouth. He gave a controlled thrust forward and she could feel the tension beneath her fingers. He wanted to drive into her throat.

She took as much of his length as she could and ran her tongue around it as she drew off. Sitting back on her heels, she bit down on her bottom lip.

Elan came down and cradled her face. “You—”

“I’m alone now. I can handle it. What I can’t handle is the hole I’ll have without you. I know you want your solitude back, but my heart is yours.” His eyes watered, taking her back. “I’m sorry. I can’t not tell you I love you.”

“My Evening Sun—my woman—my lover—my heart,” he whispered. “We’re two to become three. Our hearts, our souls, our union has come full circle.”

“A triad of blood’s destiny has intertwined, entwined and knotted us.”

A cool breeze surrounded them, sending shivers down her spine as need raced through her veins.

“In life, in love, in flight, spirits soar and land. This night begins our journey.”

Cassandra caressed his face. “My Apache Love…holder of my heart…partner of my soul…my soul mate.”

The room seemed to spin around them, but she didn’t care if it was or not. His hands touched her hips and she went with him as he eased back onto the floor. Straddling him, she took him deep within her.

The air stilled as she locked eyes with the man beneath her. He entwined his fingers with hers, searching the depths of her eyes. What she wanted, what she felt mirrored in his eyes. She had no more doubts.

Elan began to move and she rose and fell on him. The door of the room closed. The spirits left them to consummate their love. Their will completed. He loved her.

STEEL CITY VAMPIRES: BOUND AND DETERMINES

  By L. Shannon

Carrie Milton has idolized her parent’s best friend, Wash, forever, more than that, she’s desired him since she discovered desire.

But Nathaniel Washington has kept his distance waiting for her to outgrow her infatuation. He’s been the silent partner in her family for three generations and the age gap between them is more than the 20 years she believes.

Carrie is leaving for college and has one last chance to prove her love is real. When she stops at his home to say good bye, she finds him asleep and helpless. What’s a girl to do? Maybe tie him to the bed and play out her wildest fantasy? Oh yeah…that’s a start.

Warning: This title contains graphic language, sex and elements of bdsm.

  Excerpt From BOUND AND DETERMINED:

Carolyn “Carrie” Milton stared down at her helpless victim. Oh he looked so sweet and innocent asleep in his bed. He wasn’t either. She’d been catching his steamy looks all summer long. Not that he’d acted on his obvious interest. Of course not. No, not Wash. He was the perfect gentleman, the kindly family friend. Why was it then that he came to her every night in her dreams as some wild lover who could not be resisted?

Tonight he would pay for those tormenting dreams.

She leaned over his still body. Carefully, she bound first one wrist and then the other. Oh so slowly she tied the opposite ends of the long silk scarves to the thick posts at the head of the bed.

Drawing back the covers revealed a body carved like marble art. His sculpted planes aligned perfectly, not too lean, nor too intimidating. If only she could throw the cover back in one rush, but instead she continued her slow revelation of his… naked body.

She bit back a chuckle. Lucky for him that he slept nude. If he’d had any clothes on, the scissors on the bedside table would have gotten a workout.

Nothing would keep her from her games this night. Well… nothing short of him screaming rape. And even then, he’d better really mean it, or she might think he was being noble again.

Down to his bare feet, she slipped another scarf around his ankles, gently binding them together and then looping the end down over the footboard to tie it to a support beam underneath.

  Was it enough?

Not yet. She adjusted the way his arms were bound, slowly stretching him while he slept on through the effort. Then the finale-th
icker, darker silk went around his eyes.

She leaned in close, whispering in his ear, “Nathaniel Washington, it’s time to wake up.”
