This feels surreal; it’s like it’s happening but not to me. I look over at Will, who’s smiling so brightly that it’s blinding me. People, I have no idea who they even are, walk past and pat him on the back. I mean, I know he did an awesome job playing Cohen, but even this has surprised me.
This will, hopefully, help Will start to believe in himself.
Olsen walks over and embraces me and as usual holds on just that little bit too long.
“That was amazing, Kat, you’re so talented. I’m extremely jealous that Will got that part and not me,” he says.
What the hell do I say to that?
“Thanks?” I say more like a question than a statement.
Patty walks over and gives me a hug, moving Olsen out the way.
“Well done darling. You and Will are going to pull in the audiences. That on screen performance is flawless, but more importantly, that romance is sizzling hot.”
Will looks over and winks as he’s dragged off by some guys who I don’t know. Olsen wraps his arm firmly around my waist claiming some sort of possession.
Jeez, that’s uncomfortable.
“C’mon lets go to the after party,” he says while leading me in the opposite direction of where Will is now standing. I sigh and walk with him to another room, where there are hundreds of guests none of whom I know, except for the cast and crew and I’m stuck here with Olsen of all people.
“I wish Charlie were here,” I yell out to Olsen. It’s hard to be heard in here, the voices are like a loud roar. You can’t hear one singular thing being said just multiple muffled sounds.
“Who?” he asks, looking distracted.
Oh my God, are you kidding me?
“You know, Charlie, your girlfriend?”
He laughs loudly. “Oh, right, yeah,” he says while he picks up a champagne flute from a passing waitress and hands it to me. “The night is young,” he says while he grabs himself a cola.
I knew he wasn’t that in to Charlie, which is a shame because she’s a gorgeous girl. Yes, sometimes a little hyperactive, but still one of the most amazing women I know and he can’t even remember who she is? I have to make sure she knows exactly what he is when I can get a hold of her. I take a sip of the champagne; it’s cold and deliciously crisp. I feel a little like an outsider as I stand around while everyone else is mingling. I start to wonder about Will and I find myself scanning the room looking for him. I can’t really distinguish anyone from anyone in here because they all look alike in their sharp suits and fancy dresses. I’m missing Will’s arm around me, his lips on mine and I really just want to go back to the hotel and cuddle in bed. Not to mention, I absolutely need to get away from clingy Olsen, who’s watching me like a hawk.
I start to walk away and he follows me like a little puppy dog. I roll my eyes and continue to walk through the doors outside where fine droplets of rain are falling. I stand just outside the doorway, but under the overhanging porch and pull my cell from my clutch and dial.
“Hello,” Charlie says.
“Hey, how are you?” I ask just needing some normal conversation in the very abnormal situation I find myself in.
“Kat, aren’t you at the premiere?”
“Yeah, but I keep thinking that all I want is for my best friend to share this experience and to be here with me. It’s absolutely no fun without you, Charlie and to tell you the truth, I’m miserable.”
“Oh, I wish I were there too. I can’t wait for the release photos to come out so I can see how you scrubbed up.” She laughs. “How’s Olsen?” I look over at him; he is standing close but far enough away that he can’t hear the conversation.
“He’s fine,” I say. But really wanting to say something more along the lines of ‘oh, he’s a complete sleaze ball and a slime bucket and I wish he’d stop looking at me like that and you should so dump his ass’. Yeah, that’s what I should say, but I don’t.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and I look up to see a girl with an eerily sweet smile looking me in the eyes.
“Hang on Charlie… Hi, can I help you?” I ask her while she continues to smile making me feel uneasy.
“You’re with him, aren’t you?” the redhead says.
My heart rate picks up a notch. “Excuse me?”
“With Will, you’re with him, aren’t you? I can tell! Don’t worry, he’ll forget about you soon enough,” she says and then walks off into the dark rainy night.
“Kat… Kat… Kat talk to me,” I hear Charlie yell out from the cell hanging lifelessly in my hand. I put the cell back up to my ear.
“That was freaky.”
“No shit! Did she just say that Will, will forget about you soon enough?”
“Yeah! What the hell does that mean?”
I see Olsen looking at me and he obviously notices I’m distressed so he walks over.
“I have no idea, just be careful and make sure you tell Will what happened just so he knows, okay?”
“Okay, look Charlie, I have to go,” I say as Olsen reaches me.
“Have a good night and ring me if you need to talk,” I hear her say as I hang up my cell.
This was far from the normal conversation that I’d hoped we’d have in this crazy world I’m finding myself thrown into.
“Are you alright? You look a little rattled?” Olsen asks while he places an arm around me.
I start to shiver from the cold or the fright, I’m not sure which, but either way I’m shaking uncontrollably. Olsen takes off his jacket and places it around my shoulders.
“Thanks,” I say and he smiles at me.
“You’re welcome,” he replies and then he leans in and kisses my forehead.
I’m shocked and I’m sure my face is showing it as well, because I can feel my eyes open wide. A few flashes go off and I step backwards out of Olsen’s hold.
“There you are,” I hear Will say from the top of the stairs. Relief floods my veins when I see him and I walk straight past Olsen and up the stairs to Will, with Olsen following hot on my heels.
“Are you cold?” he asks, spotting Olsen’s jacket wrapped around me.
“Just a little, I’ll be okay now I’m back inside.”
I slip the jacket off and hand it back to Olsen.
“Thanks dude, for taking such good care of my girl.”
“Will, I think you have a crazy stalker fan already,” I say.
He turns his head toward mine. “What? Why?”
“I had a girl come up to me and say that she knew we were together and that you’d forget about me soon enough.”
~ WILL ~
“Are you serious?” I ask as a wave of uncertainty washes over me.
“Yes. It was actually kind of scary.”
I can’t help myself and I pull her in for a hug.
Friends hug, don’t they?
She nuzzles in and then quickly pulls back remembering where we are.
“I can’t touch you here Will, but I want to kiss you and feel your hands on me so badly it hurts,” she whispers in my ear.
I know exactly how she’s feeling, because I’ve been the same all night whilst watching her from afar. I knew she was searching for me, but I tried to stay hidden because I knew if our eyes met it would be a dead giveaway. I saw her heading outside, but I got held up with Skipp talking about the second movie. That’s when I went to find her, to make sure she was okay and coping with the publicity.
“I want to kiss you too so badly and I will tonight, believe me, when we get back to the hotel,” I whisper back into her ear.
She nods and I notice the goose bumps appearing on her bare arms as she holds herself tightly. I take off my jacket and place it around her shoulders.
“Thanks, I felt uncomfortable having Olsen’s jacket on.”
I smile and lean in to kiss her and then remember.
Fuck, this is bullshit!
I pull back before anyone could see what was about to happen. I shake my head and she looks at me sympathetically.
“I know,” she says.
I chuckle and then frown. She pats me on the arm and then walks away toward the ladies room.
I’m sure Patty definitely noticed and not even a second goes by before she walks over.
“That was close.”
God, does she watch us every second of the day?
“I know, I’m sorry, it won’t happen again.”
She looks at me with raised eyebrows.
“I was talking about the waiter nearly dropping the drinks on me. What are you talking about?” she asks with an inquisitive tone.
Oh crap!
“Oh, nothing, never mind,” I say and quickly take a champagne off the tray of a passing waiter.
She shakes her head, crosses her arms over her body and furrows her brows.
“Will, don’t hold out on me. You know I need to know the truth so I can fix any potential issues or stories that come out.”
I exhale. “Okay, well I nearly kissed her,” I say in a very voice low.
She nods. “Right. Were there any cameras nearby? Did you see any flashes?”
“I don’t know,” I say honestly, “I wasn’t paying attention to the cameras, just Kat.”
“Right, well if any photos do happen to surface, we’ll think of a story to cover it.”
“Okay,” I say and then I take a long drink of my champagne.
Patty pats my back in acknowledgement; she knows it’s hard for us to be here together but firmly apart. I search the room and find Kat walking out of the ladies and her eyes meet mine. She stops dead in her tracks and her gorgeous green eyes stare right back. I smile as I feel that magnetism surge between us. She winks and I exhale while she strides gracefully toward me.
“Will, be careful,” I hear Patty whisper in my ear.
My smile turns instantly to a frown. She raises an eyebrow and pauses. I shake my head and turn my back to her. I feel like a complete asshole, but I know she’ll understand. Well, at least I hope she will.
“I know it's hard darling,” Patty says while patting me gently on the back. I swallow the last of my champagne down in one large gulp and exhale forcefully. I notice Kat walk past me. Her arm sliding against mine as she brushes past. I ease slightly at her touch, but she doesn’t turn to look at me. Instead, she continues on and walks over to Jed.
This is so hard, and seriously, it’s fucking crap!
I need her so badly. I want to celebrate and be buried balls deep in her, but no, I have to ignore her.
What the fuck is with this shit?
I understand it’s all for the benefit of the movie and our fan base, but I crave her and want her so damn badly, it’s physically killing me to be apart from her for even for a few hours.
Oh God, I hope she understood why I broke our gaze.
I want to leave right now, have her in my bed making love to her and then I want to fuck her hard.
I turn to Patty. “What’s an acceptable time to leave?” I ask casually whilst grabbing another champagne from a passing waiter.
“Darling, it’s your first premiere. You must stay until the end. It’s only another hour or so, I’d imagine.”
Okay an hour. I can last that long, can’t I?
Although I’m sure my balls are turning a very nice shade of blue. I make my way over to Olsen, who’s watching Kat closely. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I know I told him to look after her, but that doesn’t mean he should be ogling her every chance he gets. She’s hot, trust me, I know that, but he has a girlfriend, who’s Kat’s best friend. Shouldn’t he be thinking about her?
Well, I can tell you now; if I see anything, anything at all, I will fucking knock him out.
“Hey Olsen,” I say casually to my best friend. One I’ve had since the beginning of high school. I stride up to him breaking his concentration on Kat.
“Hey dude, having a good time?”
“Yeah. Looking forward to getting Kat home and getting some sleep. I know we have the radio interview with Ryan Seacrest in the morning,” I say nonchalantly.
“Cool, so when does filming start on the next Nightwalker movie?”
“Not sure, in a few months I’d imagine,” I say, raising an eyebrow.
“So, you’re going off set for some of those shoots aren’t you?”
What the hell is he getting at?
“Yeah, going on location to a few places around the coast. It should be fun.”
“So, if you’re on location will you need security?”
Oh, now I get it, he wants to know if he’ll be traveling around with us.
“I guess so?”
A smile crosses his face. “Okay, cool,” he says and then walks away.
That was weird, but I guess no weirder than usual for him.
I make my way outside, because I need some fresh air. I get to the doorway and slowly walk down the couple of stairs to stand at the end of the damp red carpet. I put my hands in my pockets to get them out of the brisk night air. I start to think about Kat and how I’ve never felt the way I feel for her. It came close to feeling like this with Rebecca, but with Kat, it’s so much more intense.
I start to walk down the red carpet when I hear a scream. I look up to hear more screams and see a bunch of teenage girls running up to the barrier. I’m halted in my tracks when lights start flashing and the girls push forward almost knocking down the barrier. I stand like a deer caught in the headlights at the drama unfolding in front of me. I walk forward toward the screaming girls so they don’t hurt themselves, because it looks like they’d trample all over each other to try and get to me, which is a scary thought.
As I walk over to them, they scream louder and one even starts to cry hysterically when I stand directly in front of them.
“Hi ladies,” I say with a smile and they reply by screaming at me.
“I love you, Will.”
“Marry me, Will?”
They don’t even know me and they’re asking me to marry them. Fuck me! These chicks are crazy!
A woman stands near the front just staring at me. She smiles and holds out a piece of paper and a marker. I walk over; take the marker and the paper from her.
“What’s your name?” I ask, having to yell over the screams of the other girls.
“Kira,” she says quietly.
I sign the piece of paper for her.
Dear Kira,
Wishing you all the best.
Much love,
Will Sanders xo
I hand it back to her and she smiles brightly. She’s seems like a normal girl. I wish they were all as calm as her. The others start screaming and handing me their markers to sign for them too. I oblige and they all start jumping around like happy little school girls. It makes me laugh.
“Will, can you sign my boobs?” one girl calls out.
Some men in suits come over and start pushing the girls backwards away from me. I smile and wave. They scream, some of them start blowing kisses which makes me smile again.
It’s funny, if this had all started a year ago, I would’ve been extremely happy to have these girls throwing themselves at me, but since I’ve met Kat she’s the only woman I want. It actually makes me nervous and uncomfortable when they scream. I’ve basically gone from a womanizer to a one woman man in a matter of months. It’s funny how one woman can change a man for the better. I start to walk toward the venue looking down at my shoes scuffing the carpet. I reach the bottom of the stairs and raise my eyes to see Kat leaning against the doorframe with her arms crossed, smiling at me. Her gorgeous smile makes me want to run up and kiss her. But I don’t. Her figure shining brightly against the dimly lit lights makes me want to ravage her. I smile back and walk briskly up the stairs to stand in front of her.
“You were great out there with your fans.”
“Thanks, one of them actually seemed normal,” I say making her laugh. “Another asked me to sign her boobs. Yeah, not so normal.” I laugh.
I move my hand to the small of her back and lead her insid
e. It’s too cold for her out here, especially considering how short her dress is.
Fuck, I knew I should’ve made her change; I really hate how men ogle her. Next time it’s no legs and no boobs, my rules... my way.
We walk back inside and are greeted by Wildon, and surprisingly, Simon Stevenson, the drama teacher from our college. I hadn’t even noticed he was here tonight.
“Will, Kat, I’m extremely proud of you both. You guys were perfect for the characters, I’m so glad I convinced Wildon, to come in and check you guys out,” Simon states.
“No. Thank you Simon. I think I can speak for Kat and me when I say that we’re both extremely happy you invited Wildon and Skipp to come and audition us.”
“Is Miss Sylvestry here as well?” Kat asks.
“Yes, she’s here somewhere,” he says, looking around the room.
I can’t believe our college teachers are here to support us. That really is awesome.
Eventually Celeste Sylvestry finds us and we spend the next forty-five minutes talking to our teachers, the Director and Producer. It looks like Wildon and Skipp have signed back on to work on the second installment in the Nightwalker series, which is great seeing as we all get along so well. The night rolls to a close and I finally get to go back to the hotel with Kat, where I can show her how much I’ve missed her touch tonight.
I watch as she enters the limo with Olsen and then she drives off. I let out a sigh knowing that it’s not long now until she’s in my arms. I hop into my limo and Patty slides in next to me shutting the door behind her.
“That went really well tonight,” she says as I rest my head against the headrest and try to calm my kinky thoughts of what I want to do to Kat when we’re finally alone.
“Mhum,” I mumble as I relax into the seat with my eyes closed. Patty taps my leg and gives it a squeeze.
“Trust me; I think this is only the beginning for the two of you.”
