Chapter Fourteen

Jenna couldn’t believe that three weeks had passed since Mica Paton had been arrested and even though she’d been interrogated she still wasn’t talking. That pissed her off but since there was nothing she could do about it she’d pushed that murdering bitch to the back of her mind. At first she’d been really angry but after Dach, Dallas and Des had sat down with her and talked to her she’d realized that her men were right. She thought back to that night not so very long ago.

“What has you so upset, baby?” Dach asked.

“I want that bastard behind bars,” she’d practically yelled at him.

Dallas had lifted her from the sofa cushion beside him and into his lap. “Jenna, you can’t let this bastard get to you. You’re angry all the time and you’re not sleeping properly and you’ve lost weight again.”

“How can I rest when one of my sister’s killers is still on the loose?”

“You can’t let that fucker get to you, honey,” Des said. “He’s starting to rule your life.”

Jenna sucked in a painful breath and stared at him. She couldn’t believe he’d said that but he’d held her gaze steadily. It had taken her a few moments but then she’d realized what he said was true. No matter whether the police caught up with him or not, it wouldn’t bring Joan back. And then she’d thought back over how she’d been snapping at them and realized she’d been taking her anger out on them.

  “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize…”

“Don’t apologize, Jenna,” Dallas said. “Just don’t let that anger rule your life, honey. Let it go. The police are doing everything they can to find him. Let them do their jobs. Okay?”

  Jenna nodded. “Okay.”

Their discussion had helped ease her mind and the anger and pain in her heart, and she’d felt so much better. That arsehole wasn’t worth getting sick or losing sleep over.

But now she felt a little guilty that Dach, Dallas and Des were still alternating days off to come to work with her, and even though she’d told them she would be fine going to work by herself they hadn’t been swayed.

Jenna loved living with her men and spending her time with them. Even though they were on vacation and should have been relaxing or out having fun, they spent their free time watching out for her.

Jeff had contacted her by phone and email a few times to make sure she was all right and she was happy every time she heard from him. Knowing that he was safe eased her mind.

Her nights were filled with loving. Making love with her men was the highlight of her day. Each of the King brothers was so tender and affectionate, making sure her needs were taken care of before their own. She was so happy and spending time with them was perfect as far as she was concerned.

Wednesday morning came way too soon for Jenna, but she was happy and had a spring in her step she’d never had before and knew it was because of her men. They had spent all night long holding her after making love with her and she was so cheerful and content, she couldn’t wipe the smile from her face.

Des pulled into the parking lot behind her place of work and then rushed around the ute to help her out. He held her hand as she headed toward the back entrance to the clinic.

“What is the title of your job, sweetie? I know what you do but don’t know what it’s called.”

  “I’m a phlebotomist.”

“Whoa, that’s a mouthful.” Des grinned.

“You’re telling me. Most people seemed to get that mixed up with lobotomy.”

  “They do?” Des asked.

“Yeah. I suppose it’s understandable considering both words are very similar but there is no way in hell I could cut into anyone’s brain.” Jenna smiled and then unlocked the back door and put her purse into her locker. Sharon walked in as she turned to head toward her exam room to set up for the day.

  “Hi, Sharon, this is Des.”

“Hi, Des.” Sharon gave Des the once over and then looked at Jenna again. “You know you’re one lucky bitch, right?”

“Yeah, I am.” Jenna laughed and then sighed, and melted when Des slung an arm over her shoulders and pulled her into his side.

  “We’re the lucky ones, sweetie.”

“Ooh, I am so envious.” Sharon laughed and then headed off to her own room.

The morning was so busy Jenna didn’t even have time to take a break but Des was a real champ and made her and Sharon a cup of coffee and brought it to them in between calling their next patients. By the time lunchtime came around, Jenna was so hungry her stomach was growling. She, Des, and Sharon headed to the diner where they met Dach and Dallas and after a quick bite to eat, it was time to head back to work.

Jenna was pleasantly tired and only had one more patient to see and when she walked to the waiting room to call her next patient, she began to get a little nervous. There was something about the man that looked familiar but she couldn’t place where she had seen him before.

“Mr. Satchel, if you’ll follow me please.” Jenna led the way down the hall to her room and saw Des frowning at the guy, too. She swept her arm out and indicated Mr. Satchel to precede her and then, with a shrug at Des, followed him in and closed the door.

When she turned to face him, she realized that his hair had been dyed blonde and saw a dark mark on the side of his neck which looked like it had been covered with make-up concealer. And then she knew. Her eyes widened, her heart stuttered and began to pound in her chest and as she opened her mouth to call Des, he made his move.

His hand covered her mouth and he wrapped his arm around her, effectively pinning her arms to her sides. She began shaking and even though she felt really cold inside she was sweating. Jenna knew that unless she managed to get free, she wouldn’t be able to alert Des that she was in trouble. She was finding it really hard to breathe with his hand covering her mouth and her heart beating so hard, but at least he hadn’t covered her nostrils and tried to cut off all her air. She reached up and dug her nails into his wrist and then dragged them along his skin as hard as she could. It didn’t seem to make a difference other than causing him to grunt.

When that didn’t work Jenna brought her knee up but he must have felt her move and he kneed her in the thigh, making her cry out in pain. She knew that unless Des had his ear pressed to the door he wouldn’t have heard her. It was up to her to try and escape. The only reason she was able to stay calm, even though she was panting and shaking with fear, was because there was no way he could get her out of there without going passed Des.

But then she began to worry that Des could end up getting hurt. As far as she knew he was unarmed and, by the bulge that she could feel under Mr. Satchel’s arm, he was wearing a shoulder holster and carrying a concealed weapon.

He pulled her toward the window and that was when Jenna realized there was another way out of the room after all. It was a large sliding window and would be easy enough for both of them to fit through once the fly screen had been pushed out. When he maneuvered her past the equipment trolley, Jenna was able to snag a packaged syringe and slip it into her pocket. It didn’t matter that she didn’t have any drugs to inject in him. A syringe full of air would be enough to kill him, albeit slowly, by causing an air embolism. It would depend on how long it took for the bubble of air to travel to either his brain or his heart.

  “Open the window, bitch.”

Jenna shook her head but started to comply when he pushed his hand cruelly against her mouth and over her nostrils. The insides of her lips tore open against the sharp edges of her teeth and she tasted blood.

She was shaking so much her fingers fumbled on the latch but she finally managed to open the window and all the while she prayed that someone would see her or him going out the window and call for help. But she couldn’t see that happening because this window was on the side of the clinic and there was a large shrub near the side of the building, which would conceal this window from the street.

When her lungs started burning and she felt herself swaying with lightheadedness she thought she
was done for, but then he moved his hand and uncovered her nostrils. Jenna dragged air into her oxygen depleted lungs and then exhaled quickly. The bastard just gave a low chuckle as if he was enjoying playing with her. And she realized he probably was. This sick fuck had killed her sister without any remorse and it looked like he was going to try and kill her too.

Even though she was scared and in a panic her mind was still working and she decided that if she pushed the screen hard enough, maybe it would make enough noise to bring Des running. So she did just that. She pushed with all her might, but the aluminum screen was too light and seemed to sort of float onto the blooming flowers below. Only the corner of the frame connected with the brick paving but the noise wasn’t very loud.

Jenna had suspected that she would be going out the window first and for that he would need to let her go, but he was a big man and picked her up with ease, then stepped over the low window sill. She struggled in earnest, kicking and scratching anywhere she could reach, but it seemed to have no effect. He half dragged and half carried her toward the back parking lot where there were only two cars parked, Des’s truck and a dark four-door sedan.

“You’re going to pay for ruining our plans,” he snarled as he moved toward the sedan. “If it wasn’t for you and your fucking sister, Mica and I would be across the other side of the world sitting pretty. But no, your damn sister had to go sticking her nose in where it wasn’t wanted. It was easy to cut her brake line and cause a slow leak. She wouldn’t have even known there was something wrong until the brakes gave out. I wonder if she screamed before she died.”

“Fight him, Jenna. You have a weapon, use it.” Joan’s voice sounded like it was coming from far away but she heard it.

Jenna dug into her pocket with shaking fingers and as she bucked her whole body and kicked with her legs, she ripped the soft packaging from the syringe, tugged the plastic cap off, pulled the plunger out, then stabbed the needle into his thigh with all her might and depressed it again. He released her immediately on a roar of pain and Jenna fell to her arse on hard concrete. Using her hands and feet she scrabbled backward, heedless that her arse kept hitting the concrete or that her hands were hurting and burning as they scraped on stones and her flesh tore. When he looked down at his leg and then back at her with such fury, she knew she was done for.

Jenna watched everything as if it was in slow motion. Her heart was pounding so fast it was painful and she was breathing so heavily she her mouth, lips and nose felt numb, and she knew she was hyperventilating, and even though she tried to get her body and mind to cooperate she sat frozen on the ground. He pulled his gun from the holster hidden beneath his jacket and then she was staring down the hollow barrel of the gun. She closed her eyes waited for the noise and the pain, and even though she heard a noise, she felt nothing.

When she opened her eyes, she saw that Des had somehow gotten the gun away from him and was fighting him in hand to hand combat. Now her fear was centered on Des. Her man could get hurt or even wind up dead. Just as the bastard took a swing at Des and her man ducked, the fucker’s eyes widened and then he fell to the ground.

Jenna looked up when she heard a screech of tires and saw that Dallas and Dach were here. Des rushed over to her and lifted her into his arms.

“Oh God, sweetie. Are you okay?”

Jenna nodded, but was still too shocked and shaking too much to get her brain and mouth to work in tandem. She squeaked when Des squeezed her tight and then apologized for hurting her. She could feel him shaking and then he sat down on the ground with her on his lap.

“Jenna,” Dach and Dallas roared as they came running toward her and Des.

“Did he hurt you, baby?” Dach asked in a quivery voice.

“No,” she managed to answer shakily.

“The police are on the way,” Dallas squatted down beside her and cupped her face. It was only when his hand connected with hers that she realized she was crying. And then she was crying in earnest. Her men surrounded her with their heat and their touch until finally she was just hiccupping occasionally.

“I have never been so scared in my life, sweetie. God, I don’t know how…” Des’s voice broke and she could see tears in his eyes, and then he hugged her tight.

  “I’m fine.”

“You were magnificent, Jenna. You fought so hard.”

When her men were assured that Jenna was okay, after they demanded that Dr. Ryan Sinclair check her over, Noah, Zach, and Tom Beech took her statement. Jenna felt horrible that she had taken a life but she knew it had been an either him or her situation, and even though she wasn’t a vengeful person, she felt that vengeance had been had for her sister.

After such a harrowing event, Jenna was ordered by the clinic manager to take two weeks paid leave to recuperate, and though she was a more than a little shaken up, she was fine. But she wasn’t about to refuse. Her men still had two weeks’ vacation time and she was looking forward to spending time with them.

Des and her men escorted her home and just as she stepped out after a relaxing hot bath and dressed in clean clothes, the three police officers arrived with their wife Beth in tow and several large boxes of pizza. They all sat around the large wooden dining table to eat and Tom began to explain about Percy Satchel.

“He and Mica had managed to skim over five hundred thousand dollars and deposited it in an offshore account. Apparently they had plans to skip the country in the next couple of weeks. I had the sergeant from the Castlemaine police station search that bastard’s house and he found two plane tickets to Spain. They’d been fleecing the owner of that store for years. All the money will be given back to its rightful owner once the hearing is done.

“Mica has been charged with embezzlement and an accessory to murder. She is looking to spend the next twenty or so years in prison. Now that she knows there is no hope for her, she’s being very cooperative.”

“Thank you,” Jenna whispered and then turned to Des. “Thank you for saving my life.”

  “You did that, sweetie.”

“No, he would have shot me and if it wasn’t for you, I would probably be dead.”

Des didn’t say anything but gulped before he pulled her from her own seat and onto his lap. She and Beth chattered while her men talked quietly, but she really just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep in the arms of her men. It had been a long and emotional day and she just wanted to sleep.

When dinner was done and the mess cleared away Jenna thanked the Beech’s just before they took their leave. Dach must have seen how tired she was because he scooped her up into his arms and carried her toward their bedroom. After helping her strip off and putting her in bed, he removed his clothes and crawled in behind her and cuddled her close.

  “Sleep, baby.”

Just as Jenna was drifting off to sleep she felt Dallas and Des get into bed, too, and then she knew no more.

  * * * *

Jenna moaned and arched up into the mouth licking her sex. She knew it was Dach eating her out because Dallas and Des were on either side of her sucking her nipples.

“God yes,” she sighed when Dach sucked her clit into his mouth and thrust two fingers into her cunt.

Des lifted his head from her breast and kissed her on the mouth. “Morning, sweetie.”

  “Morning.”

She opened her eyes just in time to see Dallas shove Des and then he kissed her long and deep. “Morning, honey,” he rasped after breaking the kiss.

“Morning,” Jenna groaned as Dach lapped over her clit and then sat up between her splayed thighs.

  “Morning, baby.”

  “Hi.”

“Will you let us all make love to you at the same time, Jenna?” Dallas asked. “We’ll prepare you first so that we don’t hurt you, honey.”

“Please. I want that more than anything. I love you all so much and want to feel connected to all of you at the same time.”

“You are so fucking perfect, baby,” Dach said.

  “I’m not perf
ect, but thank you.”

“You’re perfect in our eyes, honey,” Dallas said. “Roll over, Jenna.”

Jenna rolled over and then Dach lifted her hips and shoved a pillow beneath them. Des shifted down on the bed until his head was level with hers. “I want you to stay nice and relaxed for us, sweetie. Can you do that?”

  “I’ll try.”

“Good girl,” Dach said, and then she heard the pop of a bottle being opened.

Dallas moved next to her and she glanced over at him. He was up on his knees beside her hips with his back toward the headboard. When he caressed his hands over her arse cheeks, she shivered with nervous anticipation and when he separated her globes she concentrated on trying not to clench.

“I love your little pucker, baby. We are going to make you feel so good.”

Jenna quivered when Dach massaged cold, wet fingers against her rosette and with each caress she relaxed a little more and wondered how much more pleasure she could stand. She hadn’t thought to feel pleasure from having her arse caressed. When his finger breached her anus, she took a deep breath and then pushed back against him. She moaned when his finger slid all the way inside.

“You’re doing great, sweetie.” Des whispered against her ear and then turned her face toward him.

He kissed her with erotic, carnal heat but with so much love, tears formed in her eyes.

  “Two fingers, Jenna.”

She whimpered when Dach pressed two fingers into her butt and even though there was a slight burning pinching pain the pleasure far outweighed it. By the time he had three digits buried in her arse, stretching her out, Jenna was shaking with need and her pussy was dripping with cream.

“She’s ready,” Dach said in a deep growly voice. “Dallas, get into position.”

Dach removed his fingers from her bottom, cleaned them on a wipe that Des handed him and then he lifted her up from the bed. Dallas lay down on his back and then helped Des lower her over Dallas’s hard, condom-covered dick.

She and Dallas moaned as her pussy enveloped his hard hot length. When she was settled, she moved her legs until her knees were beneath her and began rock on his cock.
