He plunged himself into her hot depths. His steady, lengthy thrust pounded against her. He grabbed at her ass squeezing hard, claiming it for himself.
Her body filled with him. She possessed him in that moment. He was a perfect fit, like a lock and key.
Spirals of pleasure spun out of control. As she moaned out he captured it with his mouth. He couldn't help but let his own moan slip out with his tongue as he drove it between her lips.
She felt her inside walls begin to spasm over him. She cried out loud like the thunder.
Her back arched up in the air and she squeezed at his ass pulling him into her as deep as he could go. The explosion of ecstasy set off a light show behind her eyes as they rolled back into her head.
"Holly shit...you're so tight... and so wet.."
Just as she started to feel her muscles relax and her heart beat started to pound, he jerked his body back away from her.
He took his shaft in his hand and stoked himself once before streams of sticky silk shot over her belly and onto her chest. Ginger watched him as his back now arched as he moaned out with pleasure.
"Wow," he said. "What else can I say, but wow."
"Wow is right!" Ginger couldn't argue with that. "How about a shower and some pizza, unless you killed it all?"
"I didn't kill all of it, and there was almost two pizzas there." He smiled and helped her up off the bed so they didn't make a mess on her new comforter.
Chapter Seventeen
"DID YOU LIGHT ALL THESE candles just for me?" Jack asked as he washed Ginger's hair.
"I wish I could say yes, I lit them for my bath, that you interrupted I might add," she mentioned.
"Sorry about that," he apologized. "But I did like the way you answered the door all flushed and wet. It was sexy as hell."
"Maybe I didn't intentionally light them for you, unless of course you consider the fact that I was fantasizing about you touching me while I was in the bath."
"Is that so?" He turned her around. "Were you touching yourself?"
"I was. I was lying right here where we are standing and you know what, you interrupted that too." She laughed.
"So you were in the middle of pleasuring yourself, thinking about me, and I showed up at your doorstep like a crazy person?"
She nodded.
"You can't tell me that this isn't meant to be," he said kissing her lips softly. "I'm sorry if that sounds corny. I'm not really an overly sappy kind of guy. It's just that I haven't really made time for anyone, or I should say that I haven't really found anyone worth making time for. I knew there was an emptiness in my life, but I just pushed past it."
"I know what that is like. That was how most of my marriage was, sorry to say." She wished she hadn't brought up her marriage. That was probably a buzz kill.
"Exactly, but look, now you are not married. You are available and I am here. We are here. It makes sense." His eyes sparkled as his cheeks bunched up with his smile.
"You know how I had said I wish I met you six months ago... The funny thing is I totally take that back, because six month ago I was married and wouldn't have been a part of this new adventure with Jasinda and Steve. I think you are right that there is something very synchronistic about how life has worked out," she said thinking about how magical it all seemed.
Then of course she had to wonder how it was too good to be true and it hit her. This man actually lived several states away from her. Sure he would be back to spend some time working on their project, but then what? Some great sex and some heart to heart dates only to have it all ripped away from her. Her heart sank.
"Hey what just happened." He pushed the hair back over her head and lifted her chin.
"It's just that. This feels amazing. And the possibilities of what this could grow into..." her words trailed off and she felt her brow furrow. "You live in Chicago, and I, well, I live here."
"Is that it? I am not afraid of that. If I want something I will make it happen. I would never let something like a few miles or a few hundred miles stand in the way of my destiny. We will work it out."
"This can't be for real. You can't be for real." She leaned into his chest and he wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head.
"It's real, I'm real, you are amazing and I am starving. Let's get out before we turn into two shriveled up raisins." Jack kissed her on the nose and turned off the water.
Chapter Eighteen
GINGER MAYBE SLEPT TWO HOURS the night before, but she was awake and full of energy. It would be a day for several cups of coffee, but she was rejuvenated and was ready to tackle anything.
She decided it would be a great day to work on making some more progress in the condo. She made herself a small breakfast and boxed up as much as she could of her father's remaining things to take to the local Salvation Army. She also managed to fill several garbage bags full of stuff that was not worth donating and that she would never have any use for.
It amused Ginger at how much she accomplished in three hours. It had been almost three months that she procrastinated and avoided facing these tasks. Getting the master bedroom sorted out was the stepping stone she needed. She felt like a giant elephant had been lifted off of her chest.
She took several trips to the dumpster with trash and took a shower. It was time to grab lunch. She didn't have anything in the fridge, she and Jack polished off all the pizza the night before. Ginger wanted to get the donations off to their new home as soon as she could.
She didn't want to waste the energy while she had it. With the limited sleep she got, she knew that there would be a point in the late afternoon when she would hit a wall of exhaustion.
Before she jumped in the shower she decided to give Jasinda a call. The Salvation Army was only a few blocks from the bar, maybe she would want to have lunch.
"Hello?" Jasinda answered the call.
"Hi. What is your schedule like today?" Ginger asked.
"Oh, you sound very chipper. How many cups of coffee have you had today?" Jasinda joked.
"Only one...pot." Ginger giggled as she got undressed.
"I'm here at the bar. Steve had some things he needed to take care of today. We of course don't have a bartender on this afternoon so I am working the bar until the night shift comes in, but I still have to be here most of the night. What's up?" she asked.
"Well, I have done some more work around the house. Yay me. I am going to be heading over to the Salvation Army with some donations and then grabbing lunch. I could pick something up and bring it over?" Ginger turned on the shower and stepped in so that the water started to dampen her hair, careful not to get her phone too wet.
"That would be excellent. I could use the company and it will help break up the day. What were you thinking for lunch?"
"Indian?"
"Yum, I haven't had Indian food in forever. I am easy and love it all, just no goat," Jasinda said enthusiastically.
"Ok, I will order online for pick up and see you around one." Ginger hung up the phone and gently tossed it on the floor mat next to the tub.
She couldn't help but smile through her shower reminiscing about the night before. Her dream guy stood in the same shower with her only a few hours earlier, washing her hair and kissing her on the nose.
She couldn't wait to see the look on Jasinda's face when she heard about the night she had with Jack.
Ginger picked up her takeout food. She was afraid that it was going to be cold; dropping off her donation took a little bit longer than she expected. At least she waived the slip they offered her for her taxes. That came along with paperwork documenting what she was donating and the value of it.
She shot Jasinda a text letting her know she was still on her way, to have no fear the food was on the way. She hinted that some homemade tea would pair really well with tika masala.
Ginger was careful with the brown bag the food was in when she got out of the car. She was wearing a pair of light tan Capris and of course an emerald tank top. She did not w
ant to go around with a stain on her pants. She had her prime parking spot since it appeared that there was no one at that bar.
It was that strange time between lunch and dinner when not a lot of people frequent restaurants. Of course this was not a restaurant yet, she assumed the same social rules applied for the bar crowd.
Ginger strolled into the bar surprised to actually see a hand full of guys scattered along the long stretch of barstools. They sipped and swirled at their drinks with their necks bent up staring aimlessly at the televisions. The music was low and the volume on the TV's was actually on, she knew it had to have been by request because the music was always pumping in there. It would have been hard to put the volume on when you have more than one television running different channels at the same time.
Jasinda waved while she shook a glass attached to a metal shaking cup in the air. She cracked the two pieces apart like an egg and poured the frothy contents into a fresh chilled glass.
Ginger took the food into the kitchen and found some plates and utensils. She wasn't sure if Jasinda wanted her to bring the food out to the bar or take turns eating it in the kitchen.
Jasinda poked her head through the window leading into the kitchen. "That smells delicious. Will you make me a plate? We can sit at the end of the bar and eat."
Ginger answered over her shoulder, "Ok, be out in a minute." She plated up the food giving them each some rice and split the two dishes in half so they could share. She was excited that even the Nan was still warm.
She brought the food out and placed it on the bar. She left the end seat for Jasinda so she could easily get back around if anyone needed anything.
"Iced tea? It's peach," Jasinda asked as she filled two glasses with ice.
Ginger nodded and answered her with a smile and reached over the bar to grab a stack of bar napkins. By the time Jasinda sat down, Ginger was starting to spoon lentils into her mouth. She had butterflies in her stomach thinking about her night. It was killing her not to blurt it all out, but she knew once she started to talk about it she wouldn't be able to eat.
Jasinda sat there and stared at Ginger. She felt her watching her and wondered if it was that obvious that something had changed in her life.
"This smells great did you get it from Bombay Delight?" Jasinda asked still watching her.
"Is there anywhere else to get Indian around here?" Ginger lifted her glass, "peach, huh? My favorite you know."
"Yup, it is peach season. I just put them through the juicer. I love fresh peach, that stuff they sell out of the soda fountains is disgusting, I made the mistake ordering it at a restaurant once."
The two women ate in silence for the next few minutes. Jasinda looked over at the few people sitting at the bar to see if they needed anything, but they had barely even touched the last round of drinks.
Ginger could feel Jasinda eyeballing her from the corner of her eye. She just smiled harder than she could help as she sopped up the last bits of sauce off of her plate with the fresh Nan.
"Ok, I can't take it anymore. You need to spill it. I can feel your energy pulsing through the air. I felt it the minute you walked in the door. And now that I am sitting next to you I feel like I am standing next to a bass woofer at a concert."
Ginger laughed. She sucked in a quick breath and her bottom lip. She bit down on it and let her teeth slide over her lip as she let it back out. She took a sip of her tea.
"Ok. You might want to check on the guys first. You won't want to be interrupted once I start to tell you."
"They are fine. These guys are in here almost every day. They know they can call me if they need me. You need to just tell me what is going on."
"Oh man, ok. So you know I moved into my dad's place, and I really wasn't making a lot of effort to change anything. Well, his computer was on and some guy, Jack, was messaging him. I kind of accidentally responded to his messages and pretended that I was my dad."
"Why on Earth would you do that?" Jasinda asked her.
"I have no idea. I was tired and upset. I didn't want to have to tell him that my dad had passed. Besides he started to message me about football."
"You mean that he messaged Art," she clarified.
"Right. Well, we messaged back and forth a few times. The thing is that he had plans with my dad, I told him I didn't think I, my dad, could go. And apparently he knew where my dad lived."
"No!" Jasinda gasped "Did he show up looking for your dad?"
"Wait. So anyway, you know I went to dinner with Jack. I was so embarrassed having to cut it short because Roger called me and started yelling at me.
"When I got home I just wanted to decompress so I drew myself a bath, lit candles all over the bathroom and my bedroom. I was going to treat myself to a nice hot soak and some of your wonderful body scrub." Ginger took a sip of her tea. "This is really good."
"Sounds like you needed the bath. It is good that you decided to do something to take care of yourself."
"Well, I got to thinking about Jack while I was bathing and one thing led to another if you know what I mean." Ginger wagged her brow. "Just as I was about to finish taking care of myself, someone started knocking on the door. Then they started to ring the bell, then the computer started to beep with messages. It was like crazy town at my house.
"I had to run out to see what the emergency was. I probably shouldn't have gone to the door in a towel, but I wasn't thinking."
"Did that creep show up at your house. Are you ok? Was I reading your energy wrong?" Jasinda put a hand on her shoulder.
"See this is where things get really interesting. I opened the door and guess who was standing there with a six pack and a bag of peanuts?"
"Roger? I don't know, that guy?" Jasinda was on the edge of her seat.
"It was Jack." She smiled and nodded her head at Jasinda.
"What, why, how? How did he know where you lived, that is a little bit stalker-ish. He seemed like such a nice guy."
"Do you know what Redford's first name is?"
"Jackson." Ginger raised her eyebrows once at her. "Ohh, no way."
"Yes he was Jack. He showed up at my house to check in on my father. He knew that he had not been well and apparently they have been online buddies for a few years now. They met in a Chicago Bears fan group."
Jasinda smiled as if she had planned it all along.
"Jazz, I am telling you it was crazy, it is crazy. First us talking on line, then at Dunkin' Donuts, then here, then him showing up on my doorstep. It is like some cosmic fairly tale come true."
"It's magic, honey. The magic of the universe just makes things happen sometimes. Sounds like the universe wasn't going to give up until you two connected. So what happened after that, did you guys hang out?"
"Did we hang out? I am pretty much sure that we fell in love. I know that sounds crazy and not possible, but I have never experienced anything like it before. He said the same thing. It was a wild night.
"First he started a fire in my oven, the smoke alarm went off, we collided in the hallway next thing I knew my robe was coming off and then his pants."
Jasinda squeezed the top of her knee. "I am so thrilled for you. I told you, if you are open to the path that doors would open for you."
"We stayed up almost all night talking about everything, my dad, his family, football, traveling. He stayed until he had to leave. He had an eight o'clock flight so he left around five thirty to get his stuff from the hotel and get to the airport. I hope he made it. I'm assuming since I haven't heard from him yet that he got back ok. He said he had to go into work and would call me tonight. We slept for like maybe two hours and when he left I just got up and started working on the house."
"You are buzzing like crazy."
"It just really sucks that he lives in Chicago. He said that it wouldn't matter. We would figure it out. Apparently he is a trust fund baby and money is no object."
"Get out of here. I would never have guessed that. Although, I am not sure why I wouldn't have ever gu
essed that." Jasinda put their plates and mess together. "Well, at least you know he will be back next week. He has to come back for our project."
"I might explode or implode before then. I feel like I just got hooked on the best drug a person could ever find. I am Jonesing for more already." Ginger's face was starting to hurt from smiling so much.
"You are high, sweetie, the best high a person can have, it's love. It is the purest thing we can experience. How can we not keep wanting more?"
"I didn't know. I thought I knew what love was when I met Roger. Boy did I get it all wrong. I guess you live and you learn."
"Exactly, and sometimes we need to live through certain things before we are ready to recognize what we truly want, need, or deserve. And we all deserve to be loved." Jasinda hugged Ginger.
Chapter Nineteen
A FEW DAYS HAD PASSED. Ginger kept working on her condo. She had emptied out almost everything of her father's. Most of what remained she was keeping, or was furniture that she wasn't ready to replace yet.
Redford, now Jack. She was sure now that she would call him Jack, Redford just would never do again for her. He'd said that his family and close friends called him Jack. She was now more than a close friend, so Jack felt right. She liked that Jack and Ginger had a natural ring to it. Besides Red(ford) and Ginger was a little bit over the top, she told him that she would rather have people refer to them as a cocktail than making a big deal about the "red" factor.
Her red hair, his name being Red, they would probably get it anyway. Then it dawned on her that if they married her name would be Ginger Redford. What more could she do than laugh about it. She had a feeling that she would be more than proud to sport his last name.
Ginger managed to work things out with Sandra so that she still wanted to represent them in the sale of her house. Of course she said that the only way she would continue to work with them was if she had no verbal contact with Roger. Ginger couldn't blame her.
