“Sometimes,” Amber replied. “But it’s the times when they don’t that makes life so interesting.”
“Yes.” Maali smiled.
Amber sighed. “I wish it wasn’t so cloudy.”
Maali nodded. “I know. I want to see the moon.”
Sky looked up and grinned. “Here she comes.”
They all watched as a cloud scudded across the sky and an almost full moon began to appear.
Sky thought back to all the times earlier in the year when she’d looked up at the moon and begged it for help. And she wondered if maybe, when you told your fears to the moon, the moon heard and helped pull you towards the right decisions and the right people, just as she pulled the world’s tides in and out, back and forth. As Sky looked around at the other Moonlight Dreamers, their faces glowing in the silvery light, she felt certain it was true.
