Rip It Page 6

by A. D. Herrick

Why was she working on anchor grinds when she could clearly do so much more? They were nearing the end or their arc and the hill was running out.

I watched as Jeremy took lead and Haven rode up behind him. She did an Ollie grab and then launched herself onto Jeremy’s back, deck in hand. She was latched onto him like a spider monkey one handed.

As Jeremy hit the flat ground he did a fakie Casper flop with Haven still on his back. When he jumped back on his board he did a 180 and rode toward us.

Before he made it up to us, Haven jumped off his back and landed on her board nose grinding to a halt in front of us.

I was stunned into silence unlike the others around me. They had seen this numerous times and were cheering and congratulating them.

I couldn’t believe the skills they two of them had. I had no idea why she was worried about making a team. I could tell that neither of them would have a problem.

“You can close your mouth now, new boy,” Cindy said shooting me a cocky wink; her bubblegum pink lips were curved into a sly smile.

“Does she come here often?” I asked Cindy hoping to learn more about Haven.

“Nah, she used to back in the day. Now she has her eye on verts. She said this was all too easy for her.” She said casually as though what Jeremy and Haven just did was no big deal.

“What are her verts like?” I asked intrigued.

  Cindy laughed.

“She calls herself a professional bailer,” Cindy said by way of answer.

I couldn’t believe that. How could she be that good with street and slopes and not be any good on an invert?

“Does she bail all the time?” I asked Cindy.

I watched as Jeremy and Haven made the round high-fiving and hugging the others as they talked excitedly about their ride down the hill.

“She had three speeds, she lands it, eats cement, or bails.” She answered matter of fact.

Really that was no answer at all. That was all anyone could do. Land the trick, crash, or jump out of it.

“She and Jeremy took it easy on that hill. That was the warm up so don’t get too excited.” Cindy patted me on the shoulder and jumped off the barrel she was standing on.

If that was the warm up I couldn’t wait to see the main event. She was fan-fucking-tastic. I decided to pull out my phone to record the rest of her runs.

“Hey stranger,” Haven called to me as she made her way in front of me.

“Holy hell, Have, what did I just see you do?” I asked in amazement.

This girl was definitely everything I could ever want or need and then some. She took on a bright pink hue of embarrassment and looked away.

“I told you I wasn’t any good.” She said guardedly.

Before I could rebut her words, Jeremy came walking up.

“You ready to up the ante?” He asked her.

His eyes twinkled with mischief and adventure. I could tell he was a thrill seeker.

Haven gave him a small nod and turned away from me following him back to the rope taking it back up the bank. I settled in to see what they would do to top their last drop.

After three more runs I was completely floored. With each run, they added, even more, trick. They leaped over one another in a game of leap frog, swapped boards multiple times, handstands, flips, and amazing jumps, all while riding along arc down a crazy steep wall.

The two of them were fearless. I had never seen such dangerous and tight lines performed. By the time they were finished I had uploaded twelve full-length videos to my Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and YouTube channel.

If anyone worth knowing was watching, then Haven and Jeremy were guaranteed a slot on a team. I even sent copies to my own team. I would love for Fearless to pick up Haven. Then I could have her all to myself while I was out on the road at demos.

“Hey new boy, how did you like the show?” Cindy asked smugly as she walked up, her firm breast was pushed out and she gave me a flirty smile.

I shot her a bright smile right back.

“You undersold them.” I teased ignoring her advances.

  Cindy just rolled her eyes.

“That was a quarter of what they can do. Haven hasn’t been out here in a while. So, she is taking it easy. I think Sam not being here is a big part of it.” She confessed.

  “Who’s Sam?” I ask worriedly.

“Sam’s her best friend. Don’t worry, he’s gay.” She gave me a knowing smile.

  Was I really that transparent?

“Are you going to hit the slope? Haven and Jeremy won’t be doing any more runs.” She said confidently.

“I may try it a time or two.” I conceded.

“Hey,” Haven called as she approached.

“Hey yourself, Ninja,” I called back to her.

Cindy gave my bicep a quick squeeze then walked away leaving me and Haven to talk.

“Ninja?” She asked. Her brows furrowed in confusion.

“Last night you were doing anchor grinds and today I see you hitting max pro moves in tandem with another skater,” I said my voice heavy with excitement.

  Haven just looked away nervously.

I reached out my hand, grabbing her by the shoulder. I stepped closer into her personal space, leveling my face with hers.

“You have exceptional skill, own it,” I told her in all seriousness.

“Wanna make a run with me?” She asked nervously.

I watched as she nibbled on her bottom lip. Her eyes nervously danced from my face to the wall behind me.

“Sure,” I told her with a smile, excited to make another hill run.

I followed haven up the wall. I had a perfect view of her ass as I climbed behind her. She had a perfect heart shaped ass that was barely covered by the tiny black shorts she was wearing. My mouth salivated as I watched her climb. I knew that my trip down the slope was going to be a painful ride as my jeans grew tight in the front.

  Chapter Seven

  Tristin

“You ready?” Haven asked once we reached the top.

“Hell yeah,” I replied excitedly to fly down the hill.

“Okay, check this out, no matter what happens, do not, I repeat, do not freak out, Okay?” She said.

I could see the excitement dancing in her eyes. She was up to something. I watched as she raised her arms to tighten her ponytail. A thin sliver of tan flesh flashed across her stomach as her tank top rose up. I bit my lip in admiration. My cock jerked in my pants.

“More skating, less drooling,” Haven said shooting me a wink then pulled her top back down.

“What can I say; you’re like a tall glass of water on a hot summer day. You make my mouth water.” I shot her a cocky wink and dropped off the bank.

I caught sight of her bright smile and the flash of pink on her cheeks before I turned my focus back to the wall at hand.

I felt a whoosh of air to my left. My eyes went wide with surprise.

“Carve up,” Haven shouted as she passed me. I couldn’t believe she passed me.

I followed her directions, prolonging my decent by making a long wide carve across the wall. The move was frightening at first. My body was nearly parallel with the ground.

Haven did a 180, flying down the hill, landing backward, and her deck was inches from mine as she lined up in front of me. Her eyes trained on my face instead of the ground flying at up at us at a rapid pace.

“Think you can catch me?” She asked in amusement, her eyes shining brightly.

I knew immediately what she meant and I was terrified. I know I could support her weight, but could I maintain my stance on the board at the speed we were going? That, I had no clue about.

I wasn’t sure if I could catch her and keep us both stable on the board at the speed we were going on a vertical surface. The momentum from her jump would be enough to knock me back.

“Haven, I don’t…” Before I could finish speaking she did a flip kick and launched herself into my arms.

Her board shot like a r
ocket down the wall in front of us. I wobbled slightly on my board when I caught her but was able to stay upright.

Havens Arms went around my neck, her legs wrapped tight around my waist. Her body was pressed flush with mine. I could feel her hot breath on the curve of my neck. Her lips were inches from my pounding pulse.

Haven centered her weight along with my body, molding her body to mine. Every move she made created friction in my pants, her core rubbing and grinding against my rock hard cock.

“Stabilize and drop into a wide squat.” She instructed.

The close proximity sent a tingle down my spine as her lips gently brushed against my tender flesh.

I followed her instructions. Her legs wrapped tighter around me. We were in a squatted position. Haven balanced in my lap. The whole thing was surreal. I couldn’t believe that she jumped into my arms or that I had actually caught her without both of us tumbling down the hill.

“Now when we reach the hip, I want you to half cab.” We were running out of wall and the ground was approaching quickly.

I followed her instructions and popped up on the board effortlessly. This time I didn’t wobble. We coasted into the waiting group of cheering spectators, all of them with their phones out recording the drop.

Haven dropped a quick kiss on my neck, her lips landing right on my pounding pulse causing it to speed up and my pants to grow even tighter.

“Hell yeah, man,” Jeremy ran overthrowing me a high five.

“Think you can push the envelope a little further?” Haven asked excitedly.

I would damn well try. It was worth it to have her in my arms. Haven took off to fetch her board. It was laying down the reservoir where it had rolled to a stop.

I watched her as she ran. My eyes glued to her tight toned ass.

“She’s like my little sister man. Don’t step in if you’re planning on stepping out.” Jeremy warned.

“Nah, man, it ain’t like that,” I told him.

I wasn’t sure what it was like, to be honest, but I did know that I most definitely wanted to ‘step in’.

“Haven doesn’t fuck with just anybody, man. I am the only person she has ever ridden with before. Don’t fuck her over.” Jeremy said.

I could tell that he cared about her by the way he spoke. I could also tell that he would seriously fuck me up if I hurt her. I didn’t know what their deal was but I knew one thing was for certain, Haven was loved by this group and particularly Jeremy. I didn’t need to be making enemies while I was stuck here for the next three months.

“Dude, I don’t plan to do anything that would hurt her. You have my word.” I promised.

I meant what I told him. I would never do anything that would intentionally hurt Haven. She was cool, fun, and smoking hot. I just wanted to get to know her better.

“I have footage of the whole run. What me to send it to ya?” Cindy asked excitedly.

Cindy bounced on her heels exuberantly, her breast bouncing along with her, as she waited for me to answer.

“Yeah sure,” I said, handing her my phone so she could program her number in.

Haven rode up to us on her board just as Cindy was handing me my phone back. I saw a flash of confusion dash across Haven’s eyes. Before I could say anything Haven spoke.

“Let’s do one more.” She said, her voice wavering slightly.

“Have, come here a min, babe,” Jeremy said, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

I watched helplessly as Jeremy walked away with his arm wrapped around my girl. Fuck. There were those words again. My girl.

“I told you, don’t worry about them,” Cindy said standing right beside me.

  “Right,” I muttered unconvinced.

“So, you planning to ask her out?” Cindy asked curiously.

I shrugged my shoulders. I honestly had no idea what I planned to do. I had never really had a girlfriend. I mean, at least not a steady girl that I called my girlfriend. There had been many girls, probably too many to count. They had all been pro hoes that hung out at the skate parks. None of them memorable or worth even calling a friend, let alone girlfriend.

“Right now I’m just trying to get to know her a little,” I admitted.

“That’s cool. Don’t go playing her, though. Haven isn’t one of those pro hoes. I don’t think she’s even had a boyfriend before.” Cindy said.

  “Seriously?” I asked intrigued.

“Yeah, she has always hung out with Sam. For a long time we all hung out but she and Sam had broken away to work on verts and whatever. Everyone else seemed content to just hang here.” She said.

I could hear the pain in her voice as she spoke. Haven and Sam leaving the group had really hurt her. I wondered why they didn’t go with them to work on verts. Why did they just stay here at the reservoir?

“When they left to work on verts, why didn’t you guys go with?” I asked. I knew that the only way I would get answers is by asking the question.

“I don’t know. Jeremy is kind of the ‘leader’. When they left Jeremy went radio silent and we all just stayed here, letting them leave.” She replied sadly.

I knew there had to be more to the story but I could wait for the answers. I looked around the reservoir for Jeremy and Haven. I spotted them standing near a beam under the overpass.

I watched as Jeremy and Haven talked. I couldn’t hear what they were saying but I know that it must have been a heated conversation. They were both waving their hands adamantly as they spoke, fully engrossed in the conversation.

  Chapter Eight

  Haven

“So what’s up with Sam?” Jeremy asked.

I knew this was coming. How I had no clue. I could feel the tension between Sam and Jeremy long before we decided to leave the group to do our own thing. While Sam swore up and down that Jeremy had a crush on me. I knew better. I wasn’t the one Jeremy had a crush on.

When Sam and Jessie first got together I could see a change in the relationship between Jeremy and Sam. They had been close, nearly as close as me and Sam. But then things started to change. Jeremy and Sam began to drift apart.

It started with school. Sam and Jeremy used to sit together at the same table. Every day I noticed that they sat further and further apart, until one day we weren’t even at the same table anymore.

Then it started affecting our sessions. Sam started moving off to do his own thing. I tried to bridge the gap by doing runs with Jeremy. That’s how we ended up working on our double tricks. It was during that time.

Jeremy wanted to get Sam’s attention and I wanted things to go back to the way they were before.

That never happened. Instead, Sam grew closer to Jessie and soon Sam and I was doing runs at the Dillon’s place alone with the occasional interruption from Jessie.

I knew Jessie was to blame for all of this. He couldn’t stand the fact that Sam would rather hang out with his friends all day than to be stuck up Jessie’s ass. Jessie had successfully pulled Sam away from all of his friends except me, and now he was trying to rip Sam away from me by taking him to NYC.

“Sam is with Jessie in NYC for the summer,” I said sadly.

  “For how long?” Jeremy asked.

“That, my love, is the big question.”

“What do you mean?” He asked confused.

“Well, Jessie, douche bag from hell, thinks that by taking Sam to NYC and showing him the big city that he can convince Sam to stay and go to school up there,” I said coldly.

“What?” Jeremy’s face fell at the news.

“Dude, don’t trip tater chip. We both know Sam. He isn’t some city slicker. He is a Cali boy all the way. He is going to miss the waves, catching air and…” I pointed both fingers at myself, “This beautiful face.” I said as convincingly as I could.

  Jeremy gave a small chuckle.

“Seriously. Jer, Sam will be back and I hope he leaves the douche bag in NYC.” I said.

“You sure about that?” He asked still unconvinced.

“I am positive. Now, I don’t know how long it will take him to realize it, but I do know that he will.” I tried to reassure Jeremy.

“Does he love Jessie?” Jeremy asked tentatively.

  I scoffed.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I asked in disgust.

  Jeremy just shrugged his shoulders.

“No, Jer. He doesn’t love Jessie. But you know who he does love?” I asked baiting him.

  “Who?” Jeremy asked intrigued.

“Me, who else?” I gave him a knowing smirk.

Jeremy knew I was busting his balls. I knew there was tension between Jeremy and Sam. I also know that they were both too stubborn to talk about it.

“Who couldn’t love you?” He asked knocking his shoulder against mine.

  “That’s true,” I confessed deadpan.

“But seriously, Sam has had the hots for you since grade school, Jer. I think he just needed to stretch his wings a little bit. He’ll come home.” I promised.

Jeremy gave me a sad smile and nodded his head.

“You staying in town or you getting out?” I asked Jeremy in seriousness.

“I’m moving after the summer up to Huntington.” He said with a sad smile.

“You going to be my neighbor?” I asked teasing him.

“Only if you’ll have me.” He gave me a small smile.

I really missed all of us hanging out together. If Sam didn’t come home I knew I at least had Jeremy.

“Your boy over there, Tristin.” Jeremy motioned with his head to where Tristin stood talking to Cindy.

“He isn’t my boy,” I told him flatly.

The twinge of jealousy and hurt that I felt from seeing Cindy giving him his phone back still sat with me.

“You know it wasn’t what it looked like, right?” He said in a serious tone.

“I don’t know what you mean,” I replied dryly.

“You can bullshit everyone else but me, babe.” He said unaffected.

“Cindy got his number to send him the video she shot. She knows he’s yours.” He said in earnest.

“He isn’t mine,” I said defiantly.
