“Good God, let’s see if Hank is ready to take off immediately.” He started stacking all the items strewn across the floor neatly back inside the wicker box. “This flies with us.”
He helped me to my feet, eagerly pulling me down the hallway.
“Come on, Ave. I don’t want you missing that appointment.”
It’s funny how much truth lies in the old saying There’s a fine line between love and hate. Ours line was so thin, I don’t think it ever existed. Stone was and would always be the love of my life. By the grace of God, we were given a second chance at a once-in-a-lifetime love, a forever kind of love, and I’d chase my wicked lover, my soon-to-be wicked husband, my wicked dirty boy, always.
