The Epilogue (Trinity Academy Book 5) Page 4

We all greet her at the same time, then we go back to staring at Lake.

“Can you swallow already,” I snap.

He gives me an angelic face but swallows the bite down. “What’s up?”

“Kingsley and I have some news,” I begin.

Lake interrupts me with a worried frown forming on his forehead. “You’re not breaking up, right?”

  “No.”

I’m just about to continue when Lake interrupts me again. “If you asked her to marry you while my ass is in Seoul, I’m going to beat the shit out of you.”

“Lake, for fuck’s sake. Shut up so I can talk,” I snap, the tension getting the better of me. Immediately feeling bad for the way I spoke to him, I say, “Sorry. It’s just really hard.”

I can feel a wave of worry ripple through our friends. “Kingsley’s pregnant.”

“Eomoe,” Lee gasps, and then a smile spreads over her face, and she begins to hit Lake's shoulder with excitement.

“Sorry, I think the jet lag is screwing with my hearing,” Lake mumbles in shock. “Did you just say Kingsley’s pregnant?”

“Holy shit,” Falcon whispers, his eyes locked on me. “I’m so not ready for this.”

Layla wacks him upside the head and scowls at him. “Seriously?”

Giving her a dumbfounded look, he complains, “Do you have any idea how grumpy Mason is when he’s sleep-deprived? You do know we’ll be the babysitters? Me… taking care of a baby.” He widens his eyes excessively, and it’s then I realize the fucker is pulling my leg. “I’m hosing little Chargill’s ass if he makes a poo.”

Glaring at Falcon, I growl, “Fucker.”

Dropping the act, his face lights up, and darting off the chair, he rushes toward me. I only have enough time to hand Kingsley the phone before Falcon yanks me up into one hell of a tight hug. “I’m so happy for you, and I was joking. I’ll have Layla change all the diapers.”

“Aww… Lake,” Kingsley croons tearfully. Pulling away from Falcon, my head snaps in her direction, and I watch as her eyes well with tears, while she says, “If you cry, it’s going to make me cry.”

I take the phone from her and Layla swoops in to hug Kingsley. Turning the screen so Falcon and I can both see Lake, emotion settles thickly in my throat as I watch Lake struggle to hold the tears back.

“Fuck,” I mutter because I know it’s a hopeless battle. The second the first tear rolls over Lake’s cheek, both Falcon and I follow.

Lake takes a couple of deep breaths, then he says, “I’m gonna be a grandpa.”

Through happy tears, we begin to chuckle. There’s a weight lifted off my shoulders now that Falcon and Lake know that I’m going to be a dad. With them, by my side, I won’t fuck this up.

  Kingsley

“My mom says ginger works wonders for morning sickness,” Layla says as she places a pack of ginger cookies on the bed with a cup of peppermint tea.

I pull a disgusted face as I look at the beverage. “I’m going to die without coffee.”

Layla gives my shoulder a comforting squeeze, and solemnly says, “I’ll have coffee for the both of us.”

“Ugh… cow.” After folding a shirt, I place it in the bag. My bottom lip juts out as I glance at Layla. “I’m going to miss living with you.”

She sits down on the bed and helps me pack the bundle of clothes. “I’m going to miss it too, but at least we’ll live walking distance from each other.”

My eyes snap up from the fabric in my hands. “What do you mean?”

A smile spreads over Layla’s face. “Falcon asked me to move in with him.”

Throwing the shirt in the air, I let out a happy shriek as I dart forward and hug Layla. “That’s awesome!”

When I pull back, Layla adds, “We can ride together when we have a class.”

I can’t stop smiling now that I know Layla will be living so close to me. “So when I’m done packing my things, we’re moving onto your stuff?

Grabbing a pair of jeans, Layla says, “Yes, so we better get a move on.”

Having just finished unpacking all my stuff, I walk to the living room and slump down on the couch.

Mason appears in the doorway looking good in his jeans and t-shirt. When he started working, I loved seeing him in a suit, but now I live for the weekends when he dresses casually.

“When you’re done unpacking, we can go shopping for some things you want to add to the house.”

“I’m done,” I say as I get up. My quick answer makes a smile form around his lips. “But I don’t want to go shopping.” When I reach him, I slip a hand under his shirt and flatten my palm on his chest. “There’s something else I’d much rather do.”

His smile morphs into a sexy grin, and his eyes begin to darken. “Yeah? Like what?”

“I’d rather show you than tell,” I murmur as I push him out of the living room. Taking his hand, I pull him up the stairs and only stop once we’re in his bedroom.

Mason pulls his hand free from mine and grabbing the neck of his shirt, he pulls the fabric over his head and drops it to the floor. When he reaches for, I take a step backward and slowly shake my head.

Mason has always been controlling in the bedroom, but today he’s just going to have to hand the reigns over to me. “Strip and lie down on the bed.” His eyes darken even more at the authoritative tone I’m using.

Keeping his eyes on my face, he unzips his pants and shoves his boxers down with the jeans before stepping out of them. I practically start to drool at the sight of him naked, and when he lies down on the mattress and his hard cock is on full display for me, I start ripping my own clothes off as fast as I can.

Naked and aroused, I climb onto the bed and crawl over Mason’s legs.

“Hunt, I have to admit, I really like where this is going.”

As I reach his cock, I grin up at him before my tongue darts out, and I swirl it around the swollen head. “I’m glad you like it because I read pregnant women get really horny.”

Mason’s grin widens, and he raises an eyebrow at me. “You can fuck me anytime you feel like it.”

“Yeah?” I suck his cock into my mouth then let go of it with a pop. “Even when my stomach is the size of a whale?”

Mason sits up and taking hold of my sides, he pulls me closer until I’m straddling his lap. Locking eyes with me, his look is serious. “Kingsley, I don’t care how big you’re going to get. I’ll always want you.” He lowers his eyes to my breasts. “I’m really looking forward to seeing how big these babies can get.”

I let out a chuckle as I begin to rub myself against his cock. “Pervert.”

“When it comes to you, I’ll always be a pervert,” he jokes while brushing his knuckles over my breast and abdomen. Our foreheads rest against each other, and we both look down. When he wraps his hand around his cock, and he begins to rub himself against my aching clit, my lips part and I let out a soft moan.

It feels like I’m burning up with need, and knowing how Mason loves to tease me, I pull his hand away and then position his cock at my entrance, while I hiss, “I want you now.”

I sink down, loving the feel of him stretching me as he fills me. I grind my clit down on him, and it feels like something explodes inside of me. All the tension from the past week scatters away as I begin to ride him fast.

“Fuck.” He grinds the word between clenched teeth and grabs hold of my hips. “I’m not going to last long if you keep up this pace.”

I lift my hands to his biceps and dig my nails into his skin as I quicken my pace even more. My breaths explode over my lips, and my body begins to shudder as my inner muscles tighten around his cock.

“Mace,” I moan as my orgasm begins, and I’m not able to keep the fast rhythm I had going.

Not needing me to say anything else, Mason flips me over and grabbing hold of my thigh with his left hand, he thrusts back inside me and begins to drive into me with all his strength.

My moans quickly turn to cries as my abdomen
tightens, and my body trembles from the orgasm ripping through me.

  Soooo goooood.

Within seconds of my finding my release, Mason slams into me one last time before his body tightens over mine. I watch his muscles bulge as he empties himself inside of me.

I don’t miss how he catches himself with his right arm from dropping down on me, where he normally would’ve covered me with his body, reluctant to pull out.

When he lies down beside me, I turn my head and let my eyes caress his face.

A grin forms around his parted lips as he catches his breath. “What’s that look for?”

I smile softly. “You’re going to be an amazing father, Mason.”

He pulls me closer, and I press a kiss to his peck before I rest my cheek on his chest.

  “How do you know?”

I glance up at him as I explain, “You’re already careful not to do anything that might hurt our baby. I can only imagine how crazy protective you’re going to be once the baby is here.”

  Chapter 8

Seven months and two weeks later.

  Mason

A scream tears through Kingsley, followed by her hissing, “I’m going to rip your balls off!”

She has a death grip on my hand as I use a cool cloth to wipe the beads of sweat from her face. “You’re doing so great, Hunt.”

“I’m not,” she cries as another contraction starts.

“Baby is almost out, Miss Hunt. Give me a big push,” the doctor patiently says from between Kingsley’s legs.

Her breathing is fast as she begins to push, and when she lets out another pain-filled cry, I can’t deal anymore. Seeing her in so much pain as she gives birth to our child makes tears well in my eyes, and soon they’re falling.

I’d give my balls to take this pain from her.

“You’re doing good.” I choke on the words as my emotions wreak havoc inside of me.

Kingsley lets out a broken cry just as the doctor says, “You have a healthy boy.”

The breath is knocked from my lungs because I was so focused on Kingsley, I didn’t know the doctor’s already holding the baby.

Then his cry mixes with Kingsley’s breaths, and I’m torn in two. I can’t make myself let go of her hand as my head snaps in the direction of the cry. I watch as a nurse cleans him up, and when she wraps him in a blanket and brings him over to us, my breaths become choppy as my tears fall faster.

The nurse places our son carefully in Kingsley’s arms, and an indescribable emotion fills my chest. We decided to wait until now before we knew the sex. We picked names for both a girl and a boy. Aria and Hunter.

Kingsley opens the blanket and inspects every inch of his perfect tiny body before she looks up at me. Her exhausted face is filled with wonderment as she smiles and whispers, “Look, Daddy, it’s me, Hunter.”

Leaning over Kingsley, I press a kiss to her lips and whisper, “Thank you, Hunt. He’s perfect.” I turn my attention to Hunter, and with my free hand, I brush the tip of my finger over his tiny fist. His fingers uncurl and then close around my finger with a tight grip.

The smile on my face is as big as it will ever be when I turn my gaze back to Kingsley’s face and whisper, “Will you marry me, Hunt?”

Her flushed face crumbles as she begins to nod, and I lean forward, pressing kisses to her mouth. When I pull back, she whispers, “Yes, Mace.”

I stay with Kingsley and Hunter until it’s time for both of them to rest. With a promise to Kingsley that I’ll only be gone a couple of minutes, I rush to the waiting room.

When I walk into the room, Falcon and Lake stop pacing up and down and rush toward me.

“How did it go?” Falcon’s eyes are glued to my face.

“Is the baby here yet?” Lake asks.

Still feeling overwhelmed, I struggle not to cry as I say, “It’s a boy.”

“Congrats, Mace,” Falcon says, and then he grabs hold of my head and plants a kiss to my forehead. I let out a chuckle when Lake slaps a kiss on my cheek, and then he turns to Lee and Layla and shouts, “Little Hunter is here!”

  Kingsley

There’s a happy smile resting around my lips as I watch as Mason cradles Hunter close to his chest, his eyes glued to our son.

The door opens, and Layla, Falcon, Lee, and Lake slowly enter the room. Layla and Lee quickly move to Mason’s side.

“Oh, my God. He’s perfect, guys,” Layla says as she touches Hunter’s little hand.

Lee smiles at me. “You have a beautiful, strong son.”

  “Thanks, my friends.”

I turn my gaze to Falcon and Lake, who are both still standing by the door. Lake shoves Falcon forward, whispering, “You go first.”

Mason is careful when he stands up, and with a proud grin, he walks closer to his best friends. The moment Falcon and Lake lay eyes on Hunter’s face, I watch as they fall in love with my son, just like his dad did.

I can’t tear my eyes away from Hunter’s heartshaped mouth as he drinks from me.

“You’re so beautiful,” I whisper, suppressing the urge to hug him tightly to me. “You’re going to be strong and brave, just like your daddy.”

The door to my private hospital room opens slightly, and Mason’s head pops in. He takes one look at me, then pulls back. “Y’all will have to wait. My son is having breakfast.”

  Chuckling, I shake my head.

A couple of minutes later, Hunter releases my nipple, and I lay him down on the bed. I adjust my nightgown, then call out, “If you’re still out there, you can come in now.”

A second later, the door swings open, and Mason comes in with Julian and Jamie. Jamie hands a three-month-old Jase over to Julian, then she comes closer and coos over Hunter. “He’s precious, Kingsley.”

Mason comes to stand on the other side of the bed, and he crosses his arms over his proud chest while he waits for Julian to look at Hunter.

Julian smiles at Hunter, then he lays Jase down next to my son. Jase starts to make the cutest sounds, and then their hands knock against each other.

Mason points at the babies. “That was a solid fist bump.”

I let out a burst of laughter, but it quickly fades away as Julian says, “Look at them, guys. The future chairman and president of CRC.”

“Julian, I’ll knock you into next week,” I mutter. “My son is a day old. I don’t want to hear anything about the babies taking over the business until they’re twenty.”

The men pretend not to hear my scolding as they stare at their sons.

Jamie pats me on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. I have your back.”

“Look!” Julian exclaims excitedly as Jase grabs hold of Hunter’s hand. “They’re going to be best friends.”

I stare down at the boys, and I send up a prayer that they’ll be as close as Mason, Falcon, and Lake are.

  Mason

“Daaaumm,” I mumble as I open Hunter’s diaper. “What did your mother feed you?”

“Don’t blame me,” Kingsley says as she comes into the room. “The top half our kid takes after me. The bottom half he got from you.”

I look at my boy’s tiny package with pride. “Yeah, he’s definitely going to fill out well when he’s older.”

“Mason, change his diaper before he pees on you again.” Her words aren’t even cold yet when Hunter starts to pee. “Fuck, he’s like a damn garden hose.”

“I told you.” Laughing at me being peed on by Hunter, Kingsley walks out of the room with the dirty laundry.

Taking hold of Hunter's feet, I begin to clean his backside while trying to keep my nose away from the stink as best I can.

After using a ton of wipes and a whole lot of powder, I finally get the diaper on right. I throw the two I accidentally tore in the trash, then pick Hunter up. Holding him in front of my face, I press a kiss to his chubby cheek. “All done. Your dad’s getting good at this.” Cradling him with my right arm, I take the small box out of my pocket and place it on Hunter’s tummy. “Now reme
mber, just like we’ve practiced, you just have to look cute.”

I walk out of the room and take the stairs down, then call out, “Hunt, are you still in the laundry room?”

“Nope, I’m in the kitchen,” she answers.

“Here we go, buddy.” Feeling nervous, I walk into the kitchen.

“It’s time for lunch,” Kingsley sings as she walks to us, her arms out so she can take Hunter, but then she stops, and she stares at our son as if he grew a tail. “What’s that?”

“What’s what?” I ask a grin already forming around my mouth.

“The box.” She points to Hunter’s tummy.

“Oh, he must’ve gotten you something.” Kingsley’s eyes dart up to mine before they drop back to the box.

Slowly she reaches for it, and as she picks it up, she asks, “You got me a gift? Why?”

“Open it, then I’ll tell you.” Kingsley’s eyes are focused on the box as she opens it. Still holding Hunter, I get down on one knee. Her lips part with surprise as she stares at the ring. When she looks at me, she sucks in a deep breath, and then her bottom lip juts out and begins to tremble.

“Will you still marry me, Kingsley Hunt?”

“Yes,” she whimpers as a tear sneaks down her cheek. “Now, I’m going to cry again.”

“As long as they’re happy tears.” I get up and take the ring from the box. I push it onto her ring finger, then take hold of her chin. Lifting her face to mine, I press a tender kiss to her mouth. “Thank you for making me the happiest man on earth, Hunt.”

  Chapter 9

  Ten years later.

  Falcon

The second I have their seat belts off, Fallon and Forest dart out of the car and run toward their grandfather.

Dad chuckles as he scoops them up in a hug then puts them down so they can go play with the other kids.
