“Where did these other humans come from?” large lizard asked.
“We do not know, Lord. We must have gotten there after they arrived. We only seen them get out of the water and talk the humans we were sent to watch.”
“Are these new people also soldiers?” the lord asked.
“We do not know, none of them look like other soldiers we have seen. Could they simply be visiting clutch mates?” the spy asked.
“Doubtful, we were told this human had no family on this planet, and the only friends it had were the two females. This is very strange. I do not like it, if this human is a soldier, and these other humans are soldiers, they could know about us.”
“Do not soldiers attack once they know about an enemy? I’ve heard that these soldiers are little more than animals after they become soldiers,” the smaller being asked. “All of these humans are acting as all others do.”
“You have heard correctly, however, older soldiers do not act like that. Older soldiers appear as any other human. They usually do not mix with other humans though, which is the part of this that does not fit.”
“Bailey Saint is going to drug the human and bring him to us this day. We will know for certain once we get him back here and can analyze him,” the smaller lizard replied. “Do you want any of the others?”
“How many others are there?
“Four others, Lord. There are seven humans now.”
The Lord was thoughtful for a few minutes. The smaller being was wondering if his superior had fallen asleep. When the larger being moved.
“Once you get your hands on the humans from Bailey Saint, bring it straight here and get it analyzed as quickly as possible. Put both squads of troops on standby.” The lord nodded to himself. “Something here is not right, and I mean to understand what that is.”
The small being bowed again and left the room.
About the Author
Ben Winston (1965 - ?) was born in Iowa and grew up in Minnesota on the family dairy farm. Upon reaching adulthood, he joined the United States Army as a communications technician. Before getting out of the military, he decided to go to school for computer electronics.
Shortly after getting out of the military, and after getting a new job with an over-seas company, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. A month after beginning the new job, he was laid off due to budget over-runs on the project he was hired for. Upon returning to the United States, he had difficulty maintaining employment because of the chronic illness.
He began writing as a form of stress release, from being home bound and not being able to work, and found he liked writing erotica. Ben wrote a trilogy called the Talosian Chronicles (Currently in rewrite to remove the graphic sex and finalized his vision of the story). The first book, Star Dancer, won awards and was nominated for many others by the online communities where it was posted.
Ben Winston returned to school for literature, after completion, he began writing professionally. Being an avid fan of science fiction he focused on this genre. He was, and still is, influenced and inspired by Gene Roddenberry, Anne McCaffery, David Weber, Isaac Asimov, and Ray Bradbury. Some of his favorite movies and TV shows are; Battlestar Galactica (both versions), Andromeda, Star Trek, Firefly, Star Wars, and many of the B-rated movies that were actually box-office bombs.
