Back to my Roots (Montana Roots Book 1) Page 25

by Tessa Elaine

It's like being out on the ledge of a sky scrapper, your heart is racing and your stomach is a mess. The adrenaline has you shaking and you're worried one wrong move could be the fall that kills you. But like an adrenaline junkie, you walk out on that ledge and take that risk for the feeling you love so much. It's all worth it.

Lucas reaches down and places two fingers on my clit and with his dirty words in my ear I'm gone.

“Cum all over my cock, Elena.” That's all it takes.

I am losing it right now, I have never cum so hard in my life, that I think I might pass out for a second. When I come back Lucas is calling my name and spilling himself inside me. We both come down from the skyscraper, Lucas pulls the sheet over us and pulls me into him. I move just a little and Lucas slips out of me and grunts.

  “Sorry” I whisper.

“The only thing you should be sorry for is telling me you can't.” He kisses the back of my head. “I love you, darlin’.”

“I love you too.” I say as we both fall into a deep sleep.

The next morning Lucas is up before me again. How does this keep happening, I never use to sleep this late? Ever. I think it's time to start looking for work, I can't sit around all day. Lucas makes me coffee and eggs then kisses me like he is starved, not that I'm complaining.

“Any plans for the day?” he asks on his way to the door.

“I'm going to talk to Dr. Andrew today about a job.” He walks back to the bed and scoops me up into his arms. My feet are off the ground and he is spinning us in circles. I laugh at him and I'm not really sure why we are spinning around.

“Lucas, what are you doing?” He is laughing too.

“You’re really staying.” My smile falls a little, did he not think I was staying?

“Lucas?” I say looking down at him. He stops and looks up at me.

“Shit Elena, I didn't mean it like that.”

I don't know what else I can do to convince him I'm in this. I'm not letting him go again. I'm finally where I'm supposed to be.

“Do you really think I could leave now?” We could be growing a life and I cannot go back to a life without Lucas.

He lets me down slowly, sliding down the front of his hard body. Just for a second I forget what we are talking about. When his hands cup my face, I open my eyes.

“Darlin’, all that I meant was, wow this is really my life, I really get to come home to you every night. And the more you put your roots back in Eureka, the more it shocks me that this is my life.” I'm giggling because his rambling actual made some sense.

“Okay, let me try this again.” He is so cute when he is worked up. I kiss him and put him out of his misery.

“I get it, I know the feeling. Sometimes I can't believe this is really our life.” I kiss him a little longer until I have to let him go.

“Go to work, I will be right here waiting when you get home.”

“Right here?” He says and squeezes my ass.

“Hum, if that's how you want me?” I would be more than happy to be waiting in our bed when he gets home.

Dessert before dinner? Why not I'm an adult.

“You keep spoiling me and I will keep you home, have you walk around the house naked all day so I can take you whenever I want.” It's hot as hell to think about Lucas and I having sex all over this house at any time, but I really need to get a job.

I have always been independent, working and taking care of myself, even at a young age. And I love my career, I can't waste all that hard work. The perfect job would be the private practice in town.

“You know I love what I do, but I don't see why we can't play on the weekends.” He kisses me hard on the mouth and swipes his tongue across my bottom lip.

“I love that idea.” He kisses me a couple more times and I have to stop him before this gets out of control.

“Baby, if you don't go Wyatt is going to blame me for you being late.” He just smiles and grabs his keys. Before he shuts the door, he looks back.

“Love you, darlin’.” He winks at me.

  “Love you too.”

I wait until the front door shuts and his truck is started. Then I wait a little longer while he drives down the driveway. The whole time I'm smiling like a buffoon and I'm about to pass out from holding my breath. When I know he can't hear me I jump up and down squealing like a little girl, spinning around and falling on the bed.

A few seconds later my phone goes off and it makes me sit up really fast. There's no way. I look at the screen and see it’s from Lucas.

  Lucas: Love the self-control ;-)

My face turns beat red and I cover it with a pillow like he can see me. Does he really know me that well? Yes, he does. I send a quick message back.

Elena: A girl is entitled to do one happy dance a day.

  He's quick with a reply.

Lucas: You can happy dance as much as you want, darlin’.

I jump in the shower and get ready for the day. Trying to pick out clothes to go talk to Dr. Andrew is not easy. I don't want to seem like to much of an outsider by dressing like I'm from the city, but I want to dress professional. Maybe a pant suit with sensible heels. I just feel like jeans and boots are a little too under dressed. While I'm trying to figure out the appropriate interview outfit my phone rings.

“Oh my god, you could not have called at a better time.” I say when I answer.

“Hello to you too, chica.” Aubrey can always come through without even knowing that I need her.

“I'm sorry, I'm just freaking out about what to wear to ask about a job.”

“Okay, explain and we will go from there.” Wow have I missed this woman.

I don't think I can survive Eureka without her. How can I convince her to move here with me? After I explain my dilemma she has the perfect solution.

“That's easy. Best skinny jeans, calf high brown riding boots, and that blue top I would kill for.”'

I can't believe that took her a couple minutes from eight hours away.

“How do you do that?” I wish fashion was one of my talents.

“Simple you look professional, but you also look natural, and you don't look like a city girl.” We both laugh and catch each other up on the last two days.

It might not seem like much time, but to us it feels like a week. After talking to Aubrey for a while, we hang up and I finish getting ready.

The rest of the day flies by and I think the talk with Dr. Andrew went well. I had my resume on hand and he said he would be in touch soon. Moving back to Eureka and now finding work is so surreal. I never thought a few months ago this is where I would be.

I was so dead set on staying away from everything my parents touched, that I was hurting myself and those around me. To be honest these last two days have been the most relaxing, I have this feeling of being right where I belong. I sound like a crazy person, but I don't care. This mood I'm in right now, nothing could take it away.

I have a little time before Lucas gets home so I stop at the store to buy something special for dinner. I was a little disappointed at first that he thought I would leave him. I'm in this all the way with him, he won't get rid of me that easy.

I am still really excited to share my day with him.

On the way to the house I spot a car pulled off into the woods. When I get a little closer I see it's a Cadillac, that's a nice car to be broke down this far from town. Maybe they ran off the road? I didn't see anyone walking on my way here so maybe they walked the other way. I drive down the road well past our house to see if I can spot anyone needing help. I don't find a soul out here. I decided they probably already got a lift and head home.

I make dinner and leave it in the oven to keep warm, then I head upstairs to get ready. I want to wear something sexy. I'm in the bathroom putting on some lotion and going over my clothes one more time. I'm in a loose-fitting navy-blue dress that looks more like a long shirt. It stops mid-thigh and I’m barefoot. The only thing under it is my sheer lace navy blue panties. Ther
e is barely anything there, but they look good. When I'm coming down the stairs I hear his truck pull into the drive.

  He’s home.

My pulse picks up and I rush down to greet him. I don't think I will ever stop feeling this way when I see him. I know he will make me feel this elation every time I see his face. I walk over to the oven and bend down to take dinner out when I hear the front door open. I run around the island and I'm sitting on the counter when I hear his voice.

“Wow, something smells amazing...” He stops short when he sees me.

He is stopped in the doorway looking me over from head to toe.

“Fuck, Elena you look sexy.” He says as he pushes off the door frame and walks my way. I bit down on my lip to stop the smile taking over my face.

When he gets to me I slide off the counter and step into his arms, he reaches down for the hem of my dress. He fists the material in his hands and his fingers brush my sensitive areas. I'm instantly wet.

“Elena, darlin’ did you wear this for me?” I just nod, there is no need for words.

Lucas licks his lips and falls to his knees right here in the kitchen, wow I’m one lucky girl. I take a deep breath and put my hands on his shoulder to hold myself up. He doesn't even try to be gentle, he pulls my panties to the side and sucks my clit into his mouth. Just for a second I think I'm going to fall, but Lucas has me. His hands go to my ass to keep me upright. Lucas starts eating me like I am his last meal. He slowly savors every inch of my pussy. He works me to the point I can't take anymore and I am begging.

  “Lucas, please?” I moan.

His hands tighten on my ass, he loves it when I beg. He pulls back and looks up at me, mouth wet with my arousal. He is so fucking hot.

“Please what, Elena?” Lucas licks his lips and goes back to torturing me. He works me right to the point I think I'm going to brake then eases off.

“More, please. I am so close.” I feel more then I hear his hum of approval. He pulls one of my legs over his shoulder opening me up for him. His mouth works my swollen clit and his finger tease my entrance. When he slides his two fingers inside me I lose it. I dig my nails into his shoulder and my legs shake with my orgasm. I would end up putty on the floor if he wasn't holding me up.

Lucas takes his time cleaning me up so much that he brings me back to the point of release again, but he pulls away before I get there. I groan out my frustration and he fixes my panties and my dress. Still kneeling at my feet, Lucas uses the back of his hand to wipe his mouth. Holy hell, that should not look that sexy.

I should be embarrassed, but it just turns me on more. He stands and his hands go to my waist pulling me close. My arms go around his neck and I raise up on my toes so I can kiss him. He tastes like me, and I can feel his erection digging into my hip. He moves from my mouth down my jaw until he is nuzzling my neck.

“What smells so good, besides you.” He makes me laugh when he starts biting my neck and shoulder.

He pulls away just enough to look over my shoulder, I feel his whole-body tense and I try to pull away. For just a second Lucas won't let me move. Then like a flash of light he is sprinting up the stairs, toward the bedroom. When he comes back down he is loading his shotgun and his phone is to his ear. He's yelling at someone on the other end.

I know my eyes are the size of saucers and my mouth is hanging open, but I am not comprehending anything that is going on.

“Yes, flashlights at the ranch. Two maybe three, I'm heading that way now.” He hangs up his phone and finally looks over at me.

He sits the gun on the table and walks over to me.

“Calm down darlin’, I seen a couple lights at the ranch.” I spin around and look out the kitchen window and sure enough across the field there are two figures and their flashlights.

Why would anyone be there? Lucas turns me back to him and before he can speak I am slipping my boots on and heading out the door.

“Elena, where do you think you're going?” Lucas shouts behind me.

“That's my place, if someone is trespassing, I'm going.” I feel his hand on my elbow then I'm spinning around.

“Like hell you are.” His eyes narrow on me, he looks pissed. “You are going to stay right here where I know you are safe. I called dad and he is calling the sheriff.” I just stand there and look him dead in his eyes.

“I'm going.” He starts to argue but realizes there is no winning with me.

“Then you stay in the truck.” We will see.

I shake my head and climb in. He is in the truck and we are tearing out of the driveway in seconds. When we get to the ranch I no longer see the figures anywhere. Lucas opens the door and grabs his gun.

“I'm going to check the house, stay here.” He says the last part more sternly and shuts the door to the truck heading in the direction of the house. Lucas walks around the back of the house out of sight and I get a bad feeling. I look around the property and see movement in the barn.

I don't see Lucas and I'm worried someone is trying to steal something. I have no idea what's left in the barn, but if my aunt and uncle left it the same way as the house? I'm assuming everything is right where my father left it.

I climb out of the truck and try to whisper shout Lucas's name. Not wanting to alert the trespassers I stop and try to sneak over without being noticed. I make it to the barn door when I hear voices and they sound a little familiar. I can't quite make everything out, but it's enough.

Man 1 “You have to start the fire in the hay loft, they won't know a thing.”

Man 2 “Why do we need to burn it?”

Man 1 “If there's nothing here she will have to sell it.”

Man 2 “If you would just let me try again.”

Man 1 “I gave you a chance, you couldn't even get her to marry you.”

What! Get her to marry you? That almost sounds like Dorian, but what is he doing in Eureka? I pull the barn door open very carefully to try and get a good look inside. I see the flashlights but I can't see their faces. I pull the door open a little more and slip through the opening. I walk along the stalls and from what I can see, everything is exactly the same.

The smell of the barn takes me back. It's a little musky on top of everything, but you can still smell the hay and horses. My mind is so distracted I forget to look where I'm going. I trip over a bucket, I'm guessing by the sound of whatever I kicked made. It makes a god-awful sound and I jump behind the stall door. I hear Dorian and the other man arguing and walking my way. I see flashlights and pray they don't see me.

Man 1 “There's someone here, I knew it.”

Man 2 “Who could possible know we are here?”

  Man 1 “Look at that.”

His flashlight shines on the ground in front of the stall I'm hiding in and my heart starts to pound so hard I know they can hear it.

The stall door flies open and I am blinded by a bright light. My hands go up to protect myself and someone grabs my wrist and drags me out. They press my back against a post and pin me there with a hand on my throat. When the light drops and my vision clears I can make out the two people in front of me. One I don't recognize, but the other is exactly who I thought it was.

“Elena, what the hell are you doing here?” Dorian asks, but I could ask him the same damn question. Except right now the hand on my throat tightens and I can't speak.

“Breck, knock it off. She can't breathe.” Dorian says to the other man. So that's who this guy is, Sebastian Breck. What the hell is Dorian doing with him? And how the hell do they know each other?

“So, you're the little bitch that set me back.” He spits at me.

His hands tighten more and I really can't breathe. I'm clawing at his hands, but he doesn't budge. I expect Dorian to help, but he just stands there with his head down and his hands in his pocket.

My vision starts to blur and I think I might pass out. I try to kick and scream, but it's no use he overpowers me. I hear Breck screaming something at me, but my ears are ringing so it's muffled. Befo
re everything goes black Breck drops me to the ground.

I'm gasping for air and holding my throat, when a hand grabs my arm and pulls me up. I start to fight and push away, I won't let him take me easily. I have too much to fight for. I realize it's Lucas that has a hold of me and I stop. He pulls me close and some of the fog clears. It hurts to breath, but I don't feel like passing out anymore.

  “Darlin’, talk to me.”

I hear Lucas and look up at him, but his eyes are trained in front of him. I follow his line of sight and I see the shot gun extended with one hand. He has Dorian and Breck with their hands up in another horse stall. I wrap my arms around his waist and relax a little. He won't let anything happen to me. He looks down at me for just a second and looks back up at them.

“Baby, you need to tell me you are okay before I blow this stupid fuckers head off.” I rub his chest trying to calm him down. They are not worth going to jail for.

“I'm okay” I say in a hoarse whisper.

He can tell it's hard for me to talk, his grip tightens and he is growling.

  Chapter 25

  Lucas

Walking into that barn and seeing that asshole's hand around her throat had me seeing red. I lost my shit. I cocked my shot gun and it immediately got their attention. Breck dropped Elena and they both spun on their heels. When they saw the shotgun in their face their hands went up above their heads. God, I would really love to beat their fucking asses.

I backed them both into another stall and walked back over to Elena. She was squatting, holding her throat and gasping for air. She didn't even look up when I walked up to her. I know she was close to unconsciousness when I came in, her face was purple. I grabbed her arm to help her stand, I didn't want to take my eyes off of them. She started to fight me when I grabbed her, she had to be scared.
