Man and dog went about their normal morning routine. Sharky had his breakfast, Ryan got cleaned up, and they went to Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee. Ryan went to Hometown for breakfast, eggs and big pile of hashed potatoes. Then they visited Kerry at the Barking Lot.
It was a pleasant visit. No bickering or arguing. Both were preoccupied with their concern for Rosie.
While they were talking Kerry’s cell phone sounded in her pocket. She answered it and listened for a moment and then looked at Ryan. She took a deep breath and exhaled.
Ryan watched her. He couldn’t tell if the sigh was one of relief or sadness.
“Chief Clare has been trying to get you on your cell and the office phone,” she said.
“News?” he asked.
Kerry nodded and then proceeded to tell him.
Chapter 30
Rosie was awake.
Notes
My thanks for reading. If you liked it, please leave a review.
If you skipped to the end first, shame on you.
Seriously, that’s sad. What else do you cheat at?
You probably park in handicapped parking spots using a handicapped tag stolen from your grandmother.
Don’t try to deny it.
But seriously, if you liked the story and want more of Matt Ryan, a review is the best thing you can do.
Fancy, uppity reviews are not required. And don’t spoil it for others.
Reviews in general seriously help a book become more visible within the algorithms (sort of like a video going viral). A visible book is more likely to succeed among the five million other books, and therefore is more likely to have sequels.
So if you want more, as a reader the best way to get more is by leaving reviews. Authors with favorable sales are happy, and happy authors work faster.
It’s that simple.
If a thousand of you read and enjoy a book but never speak up, the book will sink and fade away, never to be heard from again. No sequel. You’re left hanging.
Sorry to have to do this. I really don’t enjoy it. But the truth is, the vast majority of you don’t leave reviews. It’s a fact. Like the sun is hot.
Yeah, I know it’s frustrating to get called out. Especially those of you who only leave complaining reviews on books you dislike, but never leave positive ones on books you do like.
You know who you are.
B.
Visit Shawn Underhill (Author) on Facebook. Because it’s the cool thing to do.
Unless you’re a whiny B.
If you are a whiny B, cut it out. You’re not helping yourself, and you’re driving everyone else nuts.
