Win Page 102

by Vera Nazarian

  “What?”

“I’ve learned some dark things recently, things about my Father.” Aeson pauses, gathering himself for what he is about to say. “I’m sorry, but it turns out—my Father was the one who sent the asteroid to destroy Earth—not the aliens, as he wanted all of us to believe. But it doesn’t matter now—the very thing he wanted to avoid with his series of ruthless, calculated actions has come to pass. These aliens, our ancient enemy—they are now coming, for real.”

“Oh my God, the asteroid! He sent the asteroid?” I whisper as my mind again momentarily spins out of control. And then comes another bitter realization, a gut-wrenching shock. “But—it means, I’ve caused all this, caused them to track and find us—”

But Aeson’s gaze of unconditional love fills me, expands me. . . . For one perfect moment it takes away the fear and the despair and panic. And in that one impossible instant all dark things recede, and he becomes my triumphant world.

“Let them come,” Aeson Kassiopei, my Bridegroom, im amrevu tells me, squeezing his strong arms around me, drawing me to his heart. “This time, with all of you here with us, Earth and Atlantis, together we will win.”
