“Don’t let me go too far,” he hoarsely said. “Never let me go too far.”

“I won’t, Sir. I promise. Don’t you ever hold back.”

  “I promise.”

He carried her into the bedroom, where he made love to her again. This time, he had her ride him while he held a vibrator against her clit, the butt plug making her feel even more full with his cock inside her.

After cleaning up and returning to bed to snuggle, she draped her body over his, her ear pressed to his chest.

  “Love you, pet.”

She nipped his pec. “Love you, too, Sir.”

He reached down and slapped her sore ass, making her giggle and squeal.

“I really need to quit reinforcing your bad behavior,” he muttered. “I keep forgetting you like it when I spank you.”

More giggles from her. A familiar banter between them.

“Answer me something honestly,” he said a few minutes later.

  “Yes?”

“Is the rock slide gone? I wanted to take my time, and now we’re married. I can’t lose you again.”

She raised her head to look him in the eye. “I’ve never been happier in my entire life than I am right now.”

  Chapter Twenty-Eight

A week later, they were fulfilling another promise Paul had made to her. “Ohh, this is going to hurt, isn’t it?” he muttered.

Lynn sat next to Paul, holding his right hand.

On his left side sat the tattoo artist, the same man who’d done hers.

“You can take it, Sir,” she said. “This is nothing.”

  “Nothing, my ass.”

  “I can’t believe you’ve never had a tattoo before.”

  “Better late than never, right?”

  “Right.”

He wasn’t about to back down from this promise. One more way he could tangibly show Lynn his love.

To make up for the shit she’d survived.

By the time the guy was done over an hour later, Paul had an elaborate version of the same tat she did, on his upper left arm.

  Then it was her turn.

Not only was she getting a little extra edging added to her tat so it matched his, she was also getting a vine pattern he’d picked out tattooed around her right ankle, along with his initials.

A permanent reminder to her that she wasn’t just his wife but collared to him.

  A collar she couldn’t remove.

The funny thing was, by the time she was done with her two tattoos, she was so deep in subspace she was hornier than hell and wanted a good hard fucking.

Didn’t help that he’d made her wear her butt plug for it.

By the time they got home, she was begging him for that hard fucking. So he bent her over the bed and gave her exactly that, using a vibrator to make sure she came until she finally called yellow before he finished fucking her and climaxed.

They lay there in silence for a long moment, fingers laced, staring at each other. “Better?” he asked.

  She smiled. “Better.”

They cleaned up so they could eat dinner. As Lynn walked past her office, she realized she’d forgotten to close the door.

There sat Vinnie, proudly pawing at a piece of paper, trying to shred it like she’d shredded the others now scattered around her on the floor.

When she saw Lynn, she sat up. “Meow.”

  “Oh, you little shit.”

“What?” Paul called out from the kitchen.

  “Guess.”

He joined her in the office doorway. Upon seeing Paul, Vinnie got up and strolled over, loving up on him.

He scooped her up, gently head-butting her as she purred in his arms. “Do you think she’s finally forgiven me for leaving?”

“Are you asking me or the cat?”

“I’m asking you about the cat.”

She stroked Vinnie’s head. “I think she’s happy life’s back to normal around here.” She rested her head against Paul’s. “I know I am.”

“You’re not the only one, pet,” he said. “And I’m still taking that job Tony got me.”

She pouted. “What if I promised to stay naked all the time?”

“You would anyway, if I told you to.”

“That’s beside the point,” she said.

He smiled. “What if I ordered you to wear clothes all the time?”

She frowned. “Red. That’s just mean.”

He laughed and set Vinnie down so he could pull Lynn in for a hug. “Love you, baby.”

She pressed her body against him. Her rock. Her anchor.

  Her lighthouse restored.

  “Love you, too, Sir.”
