Labor of Love Anthology: 10 Anecdotes of Love and the Struggles Within Page 21

by Aliyah Burke

He poured the glass of dark liquid, threw it back, shook off the burn and poured another. This one he’d nurse a bit more. He turned to eye his door, still opened, from when she’d left. The smell of her perfume lingered in his office. Roses, he thought. She smelled like roses every day. Ugh. He sipped from the glass of scotch before corking it and placing the glass decanter back in its sacred spot.

He organized a few papers and files he had to review from his staff attorneys in his brief case and snapped it shut. He needed to get out of here. The intoxicating scent of her and the scotch sliding down his throat, burning the whole way down, left him a bit out of sorts. He slid his hand over his close-cut hair and let out a soft groan. He needed to get some dinner. He turned off his light and shut his door.

A movement to his right caught his attention and he turned, noticing her walking quickly across the office in the opposite direction from him. She didn’t see him, but of course, he saw her. The dark hair she usually had pulled up into a neat roll during the work day was now coming undone. Her jet-black hair, always silky and shiny, was loosely cascading down her back and he would give anything to run his hands through it. He wanted to know how it would feel tangled around his fingers as he drove into her from the back. He imaged she’d like it doggy-style. As feisty as she was, she’d make him stay still as she moved those ample hips back in a circle around him, thrusting into him, milking him for all he was worth while he stood under her complete control.

The fantasy of her moving back into him halted when her black heels caught the carpet and she stumbled forward. The very ass he was daydreaming about was prominent against the back of her skirt. She turned and let out a strain of colorful language that he wouldn’t repeat in mixed company, but it left a smile on his face hearing her give the carpet, her shoes and the whole damn office a piece of her beautiful mind.

She stood slowly and turned in his direction, but still not spotting him, she bent at the waist and straightened the rug and righted her shoe. The ample view from this end wasn’t too shabby either. Her suit was dipped low, constraining her breasts, allowing him a full view of cleavage. He swore to goodness she didn’t wear anything under that jacket. It always was a distraction to him when he got close to her. He heard her let out a soft curse again as she looked down to inspect her shoe heel.

  Why is she still here?

She told him she had plans and that she was leaving at 5:00 p.m. But here he stood, staring at her. All she had to do was look up and she’d catch him, taking every last inch of her in like a starving animal.

But she didn’t look up. She kept her head down and made a beeline for her office. Was she purposely ignoring him...again? It wasn’t like he was hidden. She had to sense him there. He narrowed his gaze at her retreating form before glancing at his watch. It was well after 8:00 p.m. His dinner could wait though. He wanted to know what Callie was doing.

  Chapter Four

“Oh God, why is he still here?” She hissed to herself pushing the door closed behind her. She left early to meet one of the female attorneys from the firm downstairs at the restaurant for a glass of wine. The one glass turned into a bottle...then two. They laughed and talked about the men, or the lack thereof, in their lives until they were buzzed. She was ready to grab some takeout and hail a cab home.

She’d only returned to the office to retrieve work she had to do over the weekend. Walking to her office, she saw him out of her peripheral. She hurried so she wouldn’t have to say anything else to him tonight. She was not in the mood for his snark, nor could her body handle another round of being in close proximity, especially when she was tipsy and in turn, quite horny.

It was all she could do to get out of his office earlier before she attacked him across the desk. This time around he would not make it unscathed. She hurried away from him and wound up tripping over her stupid shoe making her look like a complete moron. The last thing she needed to do was show weakness in front of him. He was like a shark in water. Her weakness was like blood to him. She kept her head low and her gaze averted. Good, he didn’t say anything to her.

Just keep the light off, Callie. He will leave. She smelled like wine. She couldn’t talk to him right now. He’d smell it on her for sure. She was tipsy, she needed laid and the object of her lust was out there in the office somewhere. Perfect.

She rolled her eyes and ran a hand over her jacket to smooth out her suit. Her nipples responded to the rubbing and she let a moan escape. She tried to bite it back as her teeth scraped over her bottom lip. A shadow moved past the glass window of her office. The knock was soft but it was there. She heard it. Damn it! She inaudibly moved her lips. She counted to three before she moved and slowly opened the door.

He stared at her, but didn’t say anything. She saw something flash in his eyes and his jaw twitched. Her physical reaction was instant. It always was when it came to Daniel, though. But this time the way he looked her was like he felt the spark between them, too... like he wanted her. His eyes dropped down her front and back up to her face. Did he know how her body was tingling for him to touch her?

“Are you ok?” his voice raspy.

“What?” she asked pulling the door open wider. He looked over her shoulder into her dark office, only lit by the city buildings that surrounded their own.

“I was just leaving out for the night, and I saw you stumble over the rug. I’m asking if you were okay. You didn’t get hurt, did you?”

“Oh, you saw that?” Her cheeks burned with embarrassment. She thought he was looking at her as she hurried away but she was holding on to a little hope he didn’t witness her klutz move. No such luck. “I’m fine. Thank you for checking on me. I-I just came back up to grab a couple files. I wanted to get a little work done this weekend.” She didn’t need to explain herself, not to him, but she was babbling as usual. Sharing bottles of wine on an empty stomach was not a smart idea. She had to get out of here before she gave too much away.

“Oh, okay. I was just finishing up some work myself before the weekend. Are you headed home?” he asked.

She nodded at him “Yes, as soon as I grab some of my files, I’ll be headed out.”

She noticed his gaze wander from her eyes down to her lips as she spoke. He didn’t stop there, though. His eyes continued to her cleavage again and they darkened. The desire she had for him was reflected there. She saw it clear as day. He didn’t mask it. She could smell the liquor on his breath. He was in the same state as her, tipsy and in need.

“Daniel,” she said his name, a mere whisper. She heard the want in her own voice. He looked back up at her. “Do you like what you see or what?”

“ I-I.” His cheeks flushed through the five o’clock shadow on his hard set jaw.

  “You what?” She challenged him.

She watched him swallow before he spoke, his words everything she wanted to hear. “You know you are beautiful, Callie. You don’t need me to tell you that.”

“Thank you.” Her gaze moved to his mouth.

“What?” He asked shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

“This is unlike any conversation I thought I would ever have with you.”

“Oh yea? Why is that?” He raised a brow.

She brushed off his question with a wave of her hand. “Don’t mind me. I’ve had a few glasses of wine. I’m not thinking straight.” She laughed nervously.

“I’ve had a few glasses of scotch, so we are in the same boat.”

“Ok, I don’t feel so bad then.”

“I told you I’m not a bad guy, Callie.”

“You really need to stop saying my name like that.”

“Tell me, how do I say your name?”

She laughed and turned from him. “Dark and mysterious.” She mimicked his voice. “It sounds very... Barry White. Like, how it would sound if you said it in bed or something?” Her eyes grew wide. She couldn’t believe she felt loose enough to say that to him. When he didn’t respond, she turned to look at him. “I’m
kidding, Daniel. Don’t go solemn on me. It’s the weekend. I guess I lightened up and had a bit too much fun. I apologize if I offended you.”

“I need to get out of here.” He stepped away from her office door.

“Hey, Daniel, I didn’t mean to run you off. Really, I didn’t mean anything by it.” She reached for his arm, connecting with his bicep. He flexed against her touch. Well, damn. He must work out on a regular basis.

He stopped in his tracks, turning to look where her hand lay on his arm. She removed her hand and turned, leaving him in her office doorway. She distanced herself from him, leaning back against her desk. “So what now, Daniel? Will I have a sexual harassment charge waiting for me on Monday?”

He laughed out loud at her and shook his head. “I’m trying to get the hell out of here before you file a suit on me, trust me.”

“What are you talking about?” she asked, her heart thudding against her chest.

“Nothing at all.” He shook his head. “Have a good weekend.”

“Oh, no you don’t. Get in here.” She stood, going after him, pulling his arm into her office. She shut the door behind them.

“Maybe you should turn a light on,” he said pulling at his tie.

“No, tell me what you are talking about. Why would I file a sexual harassment suit against you?”

“You’re kidding right?” He chuckled, shaking his head, raking a hand over his face.

  “No, I’m not.” She pouted.

He hesitated, and she couldn’t make out his face in the dark. She wanted to see his eyes and know what he was thinking. She turned from him, leaning over her desk; she turned on a tall lamp, casting a soft glow over her office. “Okay, Daniel. How about we both be honest with each other,” she said moving closer to him.

“I was just talking stupid, Callie. We don’t have to get into this.” His words said one thing, but his eyes always gave him away; dilated and roaming her face and down her neck.

“Damn you, chickening out!” She challenged him.

“What?” he asked, clearly surprised by her reaction.

She smacked an open palm against his chest, her hand colliding with his firm pecs.

He stumbled back. “What do you want me to say, Callie?”

“Nothing, nothing at all,” she said pissed off. Really what did she expect from him, a full confession of his undying lust for her? She moved away from her desk, stepping away from him as well.

“No,” he said grabbing her wrist, pulling her dangerously close to him. “What do you want me to say, Callie?” he said her name in that voice. That come hither voice. I want what you want. Let’s make it happen, tone.

She put a hand to his chest, purposely connecting with one of the buttons of his shirt. She slipped it free and looked up at him. “I told you to stop saying my name like you want to say it in bed, Daniel, unless…” She chose her words wisely, slowly and calculated.

“Unless what?” He looked down at where her hand worked on his second and third shirt button.

“Unless, you intend to say it…while on top of me.” She lowered a butterfly kiss to the exposed flesh of his chest.

He wrapped an arm around her with one arm while lifting her chin with the other hand. Her gaze connected with his. She could feel his breath on her lips when he said, “I’ve said your name in bed more than once, Callie. Trust me; I have the hard on right now to prove it.” He pressed his erection into her, backing her into the desk. “I would have no problem moaning your name while I drive into your wet pussy over and over…then, you can file your own sexual harassment complaint on Monday if you want.” He dropped his hand between them flicking at the buttons on her business suit jacket. He stared at her lips like he wanted to devour her and she wished he would.

  “No complaints here,” she promised.

“Then can I do this?” He lowered his mouth to hers. He pushed her jacket away from her shoulders never losing contact with her lips; he ravished her mouth like she knew he would. She moaned against his mouth and felt his penis harden between them. Her hands ran up his chest and under his white dress shirt.

“No beds here. Will my office floor work?” She chuckled again his lips.

“Forget the floor. I’m taking you right here.” He ran a finger down her chest into the valley of her breasts tucked behind the deep v of her white, silk camisole.

“We should lock the door, Daniel,” she whimpered.

“I don’t think anyone is here.” He kissed and licked along the same trail his finger took.

She threw her head back allowing him better access. “Just in case...” Her words were lost when he pulled her up from the desk, lifting her hands above her head. He kissed at her neck as his hands worked pulling the cami up and over her head. She wore a black push-up bra underneath. The delicate material was barely enough to contain her large breasts. “Christ, Callie,” he growled. He lowered his mouth to her and sucked a nipple through lace and satin. She cried out, letting her hands fall to the back of his head, pushing him in closer to her breasts.

He put his hands at her waist and quickly turned her around. Pressing her front over the desk, he ground his erection into her ass and worked at the zipper of her skirt. He slid it down her hips until it fell and pooled around her heels.

He turned her back around in front of him, back onto her desk, his hungry gaze ran the length of her scantily clad body covered only by lace and satin and the garters that held hosiery in place.

“Well, this view does not disappoint,” he murmured.

“Why am I the only one half dressed?” she asked reaching to slide the dress shirt over his shoulders and down his arms. It fell to the floor along with her collection of clothing. She didn’t skip a beat, working next on the belt of his pants and as he bent, his mouth found the front closure of her bra. He quickly unfastened it and took her breasts in his hands fondling her. Her head fell back as she moaned her pleasure. He leaned over her, his mouth found hers again, hot and waiting, as her hands worked at his zipper. His pants fell to the floor and she pulled at his boxers. She reached for him and pulled back in surprise. “Oh, Daniel.” She blushed.

“What?” He moved back from her a look of confusion mixed with the lust in his green eyes. “What’s wrong?”

“You are...” She stumbled over her words. “I’m impressed.” She decided to say. His length and girth were much more than she expected wrapping her hand around him and stroking his erection.

“I’m glad you are impressed.” He smirked against her lips. She didn’t have time to think about anything else. He pulled her back from her desk and led her to the soft chair in the corner of her office. He let her sit down before dropping to his knees in front of her. “You are gorgeous, Callie,” he said moving a hand up her nylon covered leg. He ran gentle fingers over the garter clasps at her thighs. “This is sexy.”

He lifted one leg under her knee and hitched it over his shoulder. She sat legs spread open in black lace panties, a garter set, and topless in her office in front of Daniel Morrow, of all people. He was staring at her like a man starving and she was his next meal.

She didn’t want to rush things but if he didn’t touch her soon she would go insane. She heard him suck in a deep breath before moving his warm hands up her smooth thighs. “Are you trying to give me a heart attack?” She sucked in a breath which caused her breasts to rise and fall near his face.

“Do not tease me, baby, or you will pay for it.” He brought his face closer to her erect peaks.

“You promise?” she cooed at him. He didn’t answer; instead, dropping his head, he spread her legs wide. “Daniel, what are you doing…? Ohhh.” The pleasure of his tongue running the length of her wetness through her panties was more than she could stand. She bucked her hips pushing into his mouth. “Keep those legs spread for me, Callie,” he ordered her. She did as she was told as her lips fluttered shut. He pushed her panties to the side, revealing her soaked pussy to him and he made her suffer, lingering right at he
r lips. “You’re so wet for me, sweetie,” he murmured against her lips sucking her erect clit between his lips.

Thank God she was already sitting in this seat or she would have collapsed around his face. He continued to suck and lick her mercilessly and her legs convulsed. “Daniel! Ahh, I’m coming!” He dipped his tongue in her, licking at her juices. His hands were grasping her hips so she couldn’t move away.

“So sweet,” he growled, pressing one finger into her entrance, and capturing the sensitive nub between his lips again. Thank God it was after hours. If anyone was out there working, they would hear her scream his name. At this point she wouldn’t much care. He entered a second digit and she gasped, “Daniel, I’m going to come again.”

“Come home with me tonight,” he said as she released. Her ears were ringing and his head was between her legs, but she knew she heard what she thought she heard.

He pulled his fingers from her, wet with her desire. He stood and stroked his cock through his boxers.

“Wait, what?” She asked, looking up at him.

He reached for her hand pulling her up into his arms. “I said ‘come home with me, tonight’,” he murmured against her lips, and she could taste herself on his tongue.

“I can’t …” She pressed fingertips to her swollen lips. He’d left her breathless.

“The word can’t isn’t in my vocabulary.” He cut off her hesitation by pressing his throbbing cock into her. Her tongue ran over her lips thinking about how he would feel inside her. She let out a soft moan when his hands moved up her waist and over her breasts lightly squeezing them. “I could have so much fun with these.” He pinched at her nipples. She shuddered as his hands moved over the hard buds. The inside of her legs still wet from his attention. He turned her away from him, her bare back to his equally bare chest. He found her breasts again in his large hands. “Bend over, Callie,” he commanded.
