“Early morning meeting,” I said firmly before Viktor could ask.
Viktor smiled and tipped his head a few times. “Ya paneemayoo.”
Which translated to “I understand” in Russian.
“Well, more for me then!” he hollered, raising the bottle.
I needed some answers and some solid intel to take back, when it was time for me to leave, so this meeting needed to go well.
Luke
In the morning, I pulled into the empty parking lot at the diner. Stepping out of the car, I looked ahead, taking in the perfect view of the mountains in the distance as the sun began to rise. It was 6:58 a.m.
Looking through the window from outside, I spotted Evie setting tables. She moved from booth to booth, setting the sugars and cream out. Her hair was in a long ponytail that hung down her back. I squinted my eyes to focus, just as Evie bent over one of the tables. Slowly, I shook my head, imagining myself pounding into her plump ass from behind, in that exact position. It was too early in the morning for filthy thoughts and if I was going to get a hard-on, I needed to be sure I was sitting down.
Walking across the dusty lot, I pulled the doors open. Evie made direct eye contact with me, giving me a small smile when I walked in. Usually she didn’t notice me until I was already sitting down but today I seemed to have her full attention.
I took a corner booth that overlooked the counter, where she spent most of her time moving about. I wanted to watch her today. I loved watching Evie. She headed towards me before I sat down, holding a fresh pot of coffee in her hands. Her pearly white teeth and her full lips were on display, when she smiled a smile at me that made every nerve ending in my body reach for the sky.
“Good morning, Luke,” Evie said, leaning over to pour me a cup of coffee.
Everything Evie assaulted me at once. Her long dark hair, her intoxicating smell, the cleavage of her perky breasts in my face. If there hadn’t been any customers, I would have grabbed Evie and fucked her right on the table in the booth where I sat. I would have finally gotten the chance to see what was under that cute little skirt. I held my breath and closed my eyes clenching my jaw. This was going to be a long morning and I wasn’t in the mood for it, after a long night.
“Luke,” she repeated.
Slowly, I opened my eyes.
“Sorry, good morning, Evie,” I said as calmly as possible, giving her a grin.
“Everything okay?” she asked, while her brows shot up to her hairline.
No, everything was almost certainly not okay. This woman was driving me fucking crazy.
“Yes.” I looked her over again.
“Same?” Evie asked.
I gave her a nod and watched while she quickly scribbled my order on a piece of paper and placed the slip in the cook’s window. She then went back to setting the remaining tables in my section. I noticed Mr. Martin, the man that I assumed owned the place, was watching Evie from a distance, as she moved around the tables. It seemed that we were both voyeurs.
Mr. Martin was a pudgy man that was balding and was old enough to be Evie’s dad. His eyes firmly focused on Evie’s ass, each time her body tipped forward, leaving her ass on display. Mr. Martin licked his lips slowly, while he concentrated on Evie’s movements and I felt my temperature rise. I clenched my fists at my sides under the table, debating where I could bury him.
I wanted to enjoy my breakfast this morning but it would be a longshot if Mr. Martin didn’t focus his gaze elsewhere…and soon.
When Evie finished setting the tables, she walked towards me. Her sexy little hips swayed with her gait. Evie gave me the smile, slipping a newspaper in front of me. My eyes lingered on her hand and the soft skin that trailed up to her elbow and I imagined licking it clean. I imagined running my tongue over every inch of her smooth, soft skin. Keeping my eyes trained on her skin, I slipped off my suit jacket and laid it down in the seat next to me. When Evie slipped into the seat on the other side of the booth, my heart stopped.
Evie
My alarm went off at five a.m., as scheduled, after a good night’s sleep. I fed Kitten before I left home this morning. I watered the flowers that grew around the house, which I noticed had been crushed, likely from the dogs around here. I was energetic and smiling by the time I made it to the diner, realizing I was looking forward to seeing Luke.
Ariana had the day off. The way she ogled mine and Luke’s interactions was distracting and made me twice as nervous. Mr. Martin and Rick were the only ones in this morning. I began to set the tables, which was one of the usual tasks of my day shift.
Luke walked in at 7:00 a.m. He stepped out of the matte black Camaro in the lot he sometimes drove, dusting off his shoes with a handkerchief. He was never a minute earlier or later. Luke ruffled his brown hair with his hands, while he stepped across the lot. He was his usual handsome, sexy self. His face was devoid of the usual tired look on his face he normally had. Luke looked fresh and revived. He was wearing a navy-blue suit, with a crisp white shirt on underneath and black shoes. If I didn’t know any better, I would have assumed he stepped off the front of a GQ magazine or just left a fashion shoot. The man probably looked like this when he rolled out of bed. He was gorgeous.
I grabbed the coffee pot and made my way over to Luke’s table, watching him slip into the booth and remove his jacket. When I said, “Good morning,” he visibly stiffened and shut his green eyes that I desperately wanted to see. I wasn’t sure what that was about.
When I got closer and leaned in to pour his coffee, I inhaled the familiar cologne on him. Instantly, I felt the moisture gathering between my legs. I took a deep breath, determined to find courage from somewhere even if I had to fake it until I made it. I had to do this.
I decided that I was going to talk to Luke this morning, more. There were no other customers in the diner, so it was the perfect time. I scribbled Luke’s regular order on a notepad and quickly went to place it in the cook’s window. When I finished setting the remaining tables in my section of the diner, feeling Luke’s burning gaze on every move I made. I grabbed the local newspaper and headed back to Luke’s table hesitantly, feeling my throat constrict with nervousness but I would forge on.
I narrowed my eyes, taking in the sight of what I knew were muscular arms beneath the fitted dress shirt he wore. Luke was built not bulky. I wondered what he looked like underneath that shirt and if I played my cards right, maybe I would know soon.
Luke rolled the sleeves up to his forearms, while his unblinking gaze remained on me, when I approached across the room. I slipped the newspaper across the table slowly, watching Luke’s narrowed green eyes linger on my arm and then my hand for a long while. His eyes slowly met mine again, when I slid around the table slowly and sat in the booth across from him. I couldn’t believe I was doing this.
Evie
Luke grabbed his coffee cup and took a long sip. I shifted in the seat across from him, attempting to calm my frantic nerves. I placed my hands on the table in front of me, taking in the scrumptious piece of man flesh in front of me.
He only watched me without saying a word. He blinked slowly and then arched an eyebrow in my direction, encouraging me to speak.
“Thank you for the muscle rub,” I said softly.
He gave me a big smile and ran a large hand through his hair. I was certain this man could make me come without even touching me. I paid close attention to his full lips. They were kissable, perfectly shaped and edged with just the right amount of stubble this morning. The kind that makes you acutely aware that you’re kissing a man and not a boy.
“It’s no problem. I had some in my car in case you were wondering.”
“No, I wasn’t. It was just a coincidence that’s all.”
“Yeah absolutely. I figured you would realize that too. I always carry it on me.”
Luke narrowed his eyes at me and dropped his gaze. “I make you nervous, Evie. It’s okay.”
I let out a dry laugh. If he was going to be an asshole again, I
was going to get up and leave.
“You look well rested this morning. Relaxed.” He smirked.
“Yeah I had a good night’s sleep last night. Got to bed early,” I said which was a complete lie, knowing I’d been up later than usual.
He only smirked again.
Mr. Martin across the room clicked on the television, which sat on a wall mount and CNN began to blast throughout the diner.
“Turn it down!” Rick shouted, right before he slammed a hand on the bell like he was trying to crush it.
“Your food is ready. One sec,” I said to Luke hurrying over to grab the plate.
Rick placed another maraschino cherry on top of Luke’s eggs. I bit my lip, walking back to the table with the food, fearing an explosion. I put the plate in front of him slowly. Luke only stared at it, without speaking but his annoyance was apparent.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered. “I forgot to tell him about that. I will make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
He impaled the cherry harshly with his fork, placing it on a napkin on the table. “You haven’t called me, Evie,” he pointed out ignoring the maraschino cherry issue.
“I know. I know. I’ve just been busy but I was going—I mean I’m going to. I promise.”
“How old are you, Evie?”
“I’m twenty-seven.”
He nodded. “You don’t have a boyfriend?” He cocked his head to the side.
I didn’t want to get into this. “No, I-I did but.” I sighed. “No, I don’t have a boyfriend.”
He gave me a smile, savoring his food.
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
He froze midbite and stared at me. “No,” he said simply.
“You’re definitely not from around here. I mean I’ve seen you for the past few weeks. Will you be here for much longer?”
“I’m not sure. I’m here for work but I may need to leave soon.”
My hopeful cloud was dissipating quickly. “Oh.” I stared at my hands.
“Why?”
I looked up at him biting my bottom lip, debating the brashness of my next statement. Luke shifted in his seat across from me, while a shy smile played across his face.
“I was thinking maybe we could hang out sometime?”
I almost got the words out, before I felt my chest constrict at the possible rejection that might be coming next. Luke smiled and placed his fork and knife down on the edge of the plate. Then he reached over to grab my hands in his and leaned forward, pulling me gently towards him. I swallowed hard, taking in the intoxicating scent of him again and the feeling of his strong hands on me. Luke ran his big thumbs across the back of each one of my hands for a moment, before he spoke.
“If you’d called me, I would have asked you the same thing. I would love to, Evie, more than ever.”
“I’m off tomorrow and this weekend but I will call you. I promise.”
Mr. Martin yelled my name from across the room, interrupting our conversation and I jumped. Luke shot a look over my head at Mr. Martin, then met my eyes again.
“Sorry, I have to go.”
I scurried over to the counter while Mr. Martin berated me for ten minutes about the state of the shelf behind the register, which needed to be organized. It was Ariana’s responsibility on most days but today it was mine. After peering back over to the booth, I noticed Luke was gone. I went to collect his plate and coffee cup. There was a fifty-dollar tip this time, and another note folded in half. I opened it slowly. It said, “Monkeyflowers,” with a smiley face. I wasn’t sure what that meant but I picked the note up and sniffed it, taking in the scent of Luke again. I smile and slipped the small piece of paper into my apron pocket.
Luke
Evie was nervous.
I watched her carefully, while she shifted in the booth across from me, over thinking what she would say. I was finally able to take in her exquisite features close-up. She wore no makeup—she didn’t need it. Evie’s skin was golden and clear and her eyebrows were perfectly manicured. She had a tiny brown mole just under the center of her collarbone that I wanted so kiss badly. I allowed my eyes to take in the rest of her features—a perfect nose, a small chin and a heart-shaped mouth with full lips that were slicked with pink gloss this morning. I imagined those glossy lips around the broad head of my cock, while I pushed it down her pretty little throat, making a mess of her long dark hair in the process.
I needed to fucking focus.
I took pride in the way Evie came to sit across from me, without even asking. Evie was becoming comfortable around me. I needed her to be at ease in my presence.
She thanked me for the muscle rub and I could see the question wheel turning at full speed in her mind. I told her I usually kept some in my car, which was a lie. Who does that?
Evie nodded.
“I make you nervous, Evie. It’s okay you know.”
The light chuckle that came from her mouth was only a cover-up for how much my comment pissed her off, but still, she stayed. Evie sat for a moment asking me little questions...fishing. She asked me if I had a girlfriend. I replied no, since I’d never.
I appreciated Evie’s sexy boldness this morning, that turned me on. I moved uncomfortably in my seat, shifting the erection in my pants. I looked this exquisite woman over again, wishing I could bury my cock deep inside of her, since it seemed to be crawling down my thigh anyway this morning.
Evie asked if we could hang out. I wasn’t sure how much more time I had here. Still, I was waiting to be briefed.
I took Evie’s hands in mine and watched how the little things all but disappeared in my grasp. I pulled her towards me, reveling in the feeling of her soft, smooth skin underneath my fingertips. I imagined what her skin would look like covered in my sweat and what her legs would feel like wrapped around my waist. Goose bumps trailed along her skin, that I attempted to massage away by caressing the top of her hands, keeping her gaze. Evie’s lips parted and darkened at my touch, which was a good sign. I wondered what other reactions I could coax from her, from just the feeling of my hands. Taking in her lips again that I desperately wanted to kiss, I took a deep breath and shifted in my seat again, noticing how Evie seemed to have slipped in a trance, right in front of me. I slowed my caressing over the top of the tiny hand in my grasp, listening to Evie’s erratic breathing. She was responsive to my touch...so responsive. Evie blinked slowly and then licked her lips, leaving them wet and I was sure she already was. I was certain she didn’t even mean to do something so absolutely seductive with her mouth, but she had. It only made my cock twitch hard against the seam of my suit pants, which seemed to be strangling my swollen length. This woman was fucking mine!
Mr. Martin screaming Evie’s name snapped me out of my trance. Evie’s eyes flashed, bringing her back to the present. She stood, straightening her clothes, calming her breathing and scrambled off. Something inside me died at the loss of her touch. I wanted to feel her, to be in between those toned thighs of hers...introducing her to my cock.
I ate my breakfast quietly, unable to tear my eyes away from Evie the entire time. I slipped out of the diner, when it got busier, without saying goodbye. I wanted Evie and I was going to have her before I left Rachel, even if I had to sell a kidney.
Luke
I returned to my motel room, feeling tired. I took the heavy Sig Sauer out of my waistband and rested it on the nightstand, letting out a long sigh. There was a voice message on my phone from Ascela. I clicked on it as it flashed in neon orange in front of me.
“Agent 7193342. Your instructions are to depart Rachel, Nevada in forty-eight hours at 0900 hours Standard Time.
“Your last meeting tonight with Viktor Krushkev is mission critical.
“We repeat, mission critical.
“We advise you to liaise with the contact to establish a time and report back.”
Fuck. It was confirmed.
Ascela was giving me thirty Earth days to locate Viktor Krushkev and the nuke. The timeline was impossible from t
he beginning. You didn’t argue with the instructions ever, you followed orders. If I didn’t get enough intel from this last meeting, this mission will have partially failed and I would be grounded on the SS Everest, until an indefinite date. In any other circumstances, I wouldn’t have cared, but now I had Evie to think about.
I had a stellar track record of completing missions in record time. This one had proven to be a little more difficult. I needed more time. I wasn’t ready to leave Evie.
Evie
“So, you’re going to go!” Ariana shouted, forcefully shaking me by the shoulders.
“Yes.” I gave her a nod.
“Oh my God. Oh my God, Evie. We have to get you ready!”
Ariana’s squealing accompanied her jumping up and down like a delirious fool.
I only laughed at her reaction.
“We can shop when we get there some more but I know you have some cute dresses here already that you can wear.”
Ariana and Karl had come over after work. Ariana paced the room excitedly, while Karl rolled his eyes opening a bottle of red wine from the fridge. He poured himself a glass and plopped down on the sofa in front of the television to watch football while Ariana and I made our way to my bedroom.
Karl was a great guy for Ariana. He was handsome and tall, with a head full of dark curly hair and brown eyes. To most women, Karl was the marrying type. He went to school in Pennsylvania and moved to Rachel when he was finished to be with Ariana when her dad became sick. I had absolutely no expectation that Karl and Ariana would remain here after another year or so.
She began frantically tearing apart my closet and opening drawers, making a complete mess of my bedroom.
