The Space Between Rachel and Evie Page 11

by Daya Daniels

“Evie,” Luke groaned, looking down at me.

The water pooled between us, as he steadied his stroke. Each bead of it dripped down every line in his body. The muscles in his arms tensed and bunched each time he shifted his weight to holding onto me tighter, only plowing into my pussy harder, wrenching screams from my throat that could have woken the dead.

I held on to his forearms, watching Luke’s powerful hands curve around my thighs, while he continued his assault deep into me with his big cock, that I knew I had become addicted to by now. My insides tightened and clenched and then throbbed so hard that I thought I would pass out. I was coming, moaning and mewling his name, covered in sweat and water.

“Look at me, baby,” he rasped out, staring at me with those green eyes of his, that made me feel like I was the only thing in the world that mattered to him.

He buried himself deeper inside of me, fucking me harder. With each stroke, my back slammed against the wall, stealing harsh breaths from my throat. I was exhausted, covered in sweat and water. Luke let out a savage growl and stilled. Then he pulled out, pushing me down to my knees, holding on to my upper arm. An explosion of cum landed all over my face, while he tapped his cock out on my nose, jerking out the last drips with his hand. I licked the head, looking up at him with wide eyes, then kissed it.

  God, I was in love.

He gave me the most adoring smile, before pulling me up to my feet slowly.

Luke washed me first and then himself, while I leaned into his chest, feeling exhaustion setting in.

“Don’t sleep yet, Evie,” he told me, wrapping his arms around me underneath the hot water.

I pressed my face into his chest, watching the steam fill the space. He was gorgeous. My eyes lingered on the tattoo of the scepter that decorated his shoulder. Other than the marking his skin was clear and tanned...perfect.

He cradled my head in his hands, forcing me to look up at him through half-shut eyes. He pressed a soft kiss to my lips and smiled, skimming my cheek with his thick finger.

“I love you,” I admitted, looking up at him.

He only blinked at me, then reached out for the shower fixture, turning it off.

  Luke

Running my hands through Evie’s hair, I inhaled the scent of her, placing a soft kiss at the top of her head. Her fingers dragged over the skin on my chest and her eyes were sleepy.

“You’re really smart, aren’t you?” Evie whispered.

“I guess you could say that.”

  “Smarter than Albert Einstein?”

“I guess you could say that.”

  “Smarter than Charles Darwin?”

I gave her a nod, without speaking. Evie sat up next to me, looking me over. I brushed her long hair away from her face, putting my palm against the skin on her stomach. Evie’s eyes went wide but she didn’t speak. She watched my movements carefully, then her lips parted. I didn’t know which emotion was stronger—the fascination or the fright.

She had a clear view of her uterus, intestines and blood moving through her veins.

  “Luke,” she said shakily.

I moved my hand up higher, hovering over the center of her chest, allowing Evie to watch her heart beat forcefully, pushing blood through her aorta with every strong beat.

When Evie met my eyes again, I gave her a smile.

Immediately, I took my hand away.

“That’s fucking amazing,” she whispered. “I mean it’s disgusting.” She laughed. “But that was amazing, Luke.”

“I’ve wanted to show you that for a long time but I didn’t want to scare you.”

She took a deep breath and narrowed her eyes at me. “What else can you do?”

“Oh lots,” I breathed out, pulling her back against my chest.

We had a dim view of the Scorpio constellation and its brightest star Antares.

“What do you dream about, Luke?” she asked, staring up at me with her big brown eyes.

  “You,” I told her.

Evie giggled and shifted in my arms.

“I dream about waking up next to you, every day. I don’t want that to stop, ever,” I said.

Evie smirked rolling over, placing her chin on my chest and her hand just next to it. I ran my hands through her hair, inhaling her strawberry scent.

“Show me what else you can do.”

“I don’t want to scare you,” I said.

She rolled over to look at me and placed a kiss to my lips. “Never.”

I huffed out a quick breath at her boldness. “Okay, you asked for it. Remember that.”

  Evie

I stared up at Luke’s green eyes, while I traced my fingers along the edges of the firm muscles in his midsection. Suddenly, the tablet that rested on the nightstand that I’d been holding earlier, appeared in front of me, floating in mid-air. Narrowing my eyes at the object I lifted my head to only look into Luke’s playful eyes.

  “Telekinesis?” I asked.

“Something like that,” Luke said casually, with a shrug.

I tried my best to keep my mouth closed, accepting my fascination, much like a little kid would be by a magician’s new trick. Hesitantly, I pushed the edge of the tab away. It hovered and then floated back slowly to remain in front of me. Reaching out to grab it, it zipped across the room, earning a loud laugh from me, right before I whacked Luke in the chest. The tablet then floated slowly back over to where we lay and came to rest in my lap.

He chuckled. “I’ve moved things much bigger than that.”

We both rested in the silence for a while, staring at the vivid colors through the floor-to-ceiling window across the room. I rolled on to my side, looking Luke over. His brown hair was ruffled, while he rested on his back in a casual pose, with a muscular leg bent at the knee. The white sheet draped casually across his hard abs and then over the spot between his legs that I’d come to love so much. This man was fucking gorgeous.

“Can you have children?” I asked.

Luke stiffened at the question. Then turned slowly to look at me.

“It’s never been tempted, but yes,” he said softly. “But they wouldn’t entirely be human. They wouldn’t be like me either.”

I fiddled with the soft sheet in my hand, considering what that meant.

“What were you like growing up?” he asked running his fingers over my lips.

I rested my head on his chest, trailing a finger up and down his arm. “I was much the same I guess. I didn’t have many friends growing up. I wasn’t very sociable, probably more shy.”

  He groaned.

“I’ve always lived in Nevada, never anywhere else. I always wanted to become an astrophysicist like I told you,” I breathed out. “But that kind of required me to be smart, which I just wasn’t.

“A few years ago, I also thought about investing in a restaurant chain or a nightclub, something like that. Then in my free time, I could go back to school or do what I wanted but you need a lot of money.”

“Is that what you’ve been saving up for?”

“Kind of. I’ve never told anyone.”

“How much does it cost to do something like that?”

“A lot. At least two hundred and fifty thousand. I have fifty thousand so far.”

  “Evie, wow.”

“I know. That’s why I’ve always just worked so hard.”

  “That’s amazing, Evie.”

“Steven always thought I wasn’t ambitious enough but I did have plans. I just didn’t share them with anyone. I didn’t want to be a disappointment you know, if none of it worked out.”

“Why do you keep his picture...on your nightstand?”

I scrunched my face, wishing Luke hadn’t asked me this but since he’d broken into my house already, I knew I couldn’t lie.

“I don’t know. I still loved Steven, even after he left. I used to hope he’d come back but it was clear he wouldn’t. I always wondered what I did to drive him away—to cause him to fall out of love with me.”

&nb
sp; He blinked slowly, looking me over. “Humans are sensitive creatures that tend to let their emotions override all logic,” he said.

I narrowed my eyes at Luke, unable to make sense of why he was telling me this. Shifting, I plopped against the pillow, covering my face and laughed into my hands. Luke rolled over on top of me and kissed me. There was a brief moment when I thought I saw something more behind his eyes, maybe something he was thinking or wanted to say, but it quickly disappeared. It hadn’t escaped me that Luke didn’t respond at all to my admittance, which could have been blamed on orgasmic delirium.

“We should sleep,” he whispered. “But I have other things in mind.”

I giggled, kissing Luke on the lips when he eased on top of me, parting my thighs with his own, settling in between them. He backed away and ran his fingers lazily down the center line of my chest and over my belly button, fisting his cock with his other hand.

He yanked me towards him, dipping down to kiss me, then slowly he parted my wet seam with his thick, hard flesh.

  Evie

Seren sat facing me, narrowing her silver eyes at the screen that sat behind us. She tilted her head in my direction, giving me a long stare.

  “Lie back, please,” she instructed.

  “What are you doing?”

Seren let out a loud breath, making no attempt to conceal how much I annoyed her. “I’m making some upgrades to you, improving your health...that sort of thing.”

“What does that mean, Seren?” I asked curiously.

Seren let out an exasperated sigh. “It means, Evie, that you will naturally be immune to infectious diseases, along with a few other improvements.”

  “Oh.”

“I’m only doing this because Luke asked me to.”

“Can you really do that, Seren?”

Seren nodded. “Yes, of course we can,” she said firmly. “You keep forgetting we are billions of years ahead of humans, Evie.”

  “Okay, right,” I said.

“I’m adding probably another eighty-five years to your life, Evie.” She smiled. “You will live to be a very old and healthy woman.”

  “Will I still die?”

Seren nodded. “Of course. We all die. Even Lyra people die, Evie.”

  “Oh,” I breathed out.

  “I’m putting you under, Evie.”

“Seren, is that really necessary again?”

“Unless you want to feel me fiddling around in your brain while you’re awake, then yes, it is,” Seren said drily.

I sighed, realizing that this would be the third time I’d been put to sleep since being aboard the SS Everest. The shit was beginning to get to me.

“Please lie back,” she instructed giving me a blank stare. “When you wake up, you will feel no different but you will be much improved.”

  Evie

“Hello,” a soft voice said encouraging me to open my eyes.

I peered into a pair of hazel eyes that blinked slowly, framed by wavy blonde hair and the kindest smile that morphed into a grin, revealing a set of slightly askewed teeth.

I blinked a few times, right before the woman grabbed my arm pulling me forward to sit up. She shoved a glass of water to me, placing a small yellow pill in my hand, which I swallowed.

“How do you feel?” she asked, giving me a friendly smile.

“I feel okay, just a little different,” I said quietly, feeling lighter, bouncier.

“I’m Eden.” She extended a hand towards me.

I shook it as she pulled me up to stand, with ease. She was insanely strong for being almost my size.

“We’ve never met before, sorry. I’ve been meaning to introduce myself but I just arrived back from the Trox galaxy.” She smiled again. “I kind of get the shit assignments whenever I have to leave here.”

  “Oh.” I chuckled lightly.

“Seren left. She asked me to take care of you.”

“Thank you,” I whispered, looking at the floor.

“No one really tells Seren no, if she asks you to do something.”

I laughed out loud while Eden giggled with me. It seemed Seren’s reputation of being bossy was well-known around here.

Standing, I stepped towards the full-length mirror on the wall of the room, straightening my hair. Eden moved to stand next to me, with a clear reflection in the mirror. I jerked my head towards her, looking her over. She narrowed her eyes at me.

“I’m different,” she said before I could ask, not that I was going to. “Only a select few of us have reflections. Luke isn’t one.”

I only nodded, since I was already aware of that. Eden placed a hand on my shoulder, giving me a sympathetic smile.

“We should get moving. I think Luke and Archer are waiting for us,” she suggested.

  Evie

Loud chattering caught my attention before Eden and I rounded the corner of the massive area that appeared to be a cafeteria. The place was blinding white, with a twenty-foot-high ceiling and sparkling clean floors. Buffet sections sat behind glass that held food of all different types, from meats, fish, salad, and all sorts of vegetables. Eden watched me as I eyed the items curiously.

“You will find you will lose weight while you’re here.” She laughed. “We only get the really good stuff when we visit Earth.”

Luke sat at a table across the room, with two other men. He stood when we approached and introduced me to Archer, who had a slight French accent. He was young with short blond hair, brown eyes, and handsome. Archer stood and placed a soft kiss on my hand.

Luke then introduced me to Phoenix, who was another Ascela agent.

“Hello, Evie. I-am-Phoenix,” he said in a robotic-like tone that I almost laughed at.

Phoenix was Luke’s third-in-command I was told. He looked to be around Archer’s age and was medium height with black hair and a crew cut. He didn’t talk much to me or anyone. Phoenix was the epitome of anti-social.

None of the men on the SS Everest, except for Commander Drago, had facial hair. I wondered if maybe it was a rule or a preference.

“Are we making your stay as comfortable as possible?” Archer asked.

“Yes, I think I’ve been given everything I need.” I smiled.

  “That’s good.” Archer nodded slowly.

Eden sat next to me, keeping her gaze on Archer in a way that told me there was something there. She was in love with him. When Eden met my eyes, she looked away from me.

Luke sat forward, placing his forearms on the table ahead of him, keeping my gaze.

“Has Seren been nice to you?” Archer asked in a teasing tone.

“Yes,” I said in a quiet voice.

“Evie, it’s no secret around here, but Seren is a total bitch,” Archer grumbled causing everyone to laugh.

Eden slid a page towards me on the table. “Sorry.” She giggled, flipping it over when she realized I didn’t understand the strange language written on it.

“This is your schedule. Tomorrow we will begin.

“I want to show you a few places aboard the SS Everest that you probably haven’t had a chance to see yet,” Eden said with a huge smile. “Come on. Let’s go.” She grabbed my hand, pulling me up from the table.

  Evie

“Evie Diaz, correct?” the short, stocky man with wide brown eyes and crazy white hair asked.

The door shut quickly behind me, as soon as I entered the room that had white walls and clean, shiny floors.

“I’m Cahner.” He eyed me from head to toe, extending his hand.

“I’m, I guess you could say, a professor here for all the new agents.

“They usually don’t perform testing on humans but I guess Seren has been feeling gracious lately,” he joked.

“Testing?” I asked lifting a brow.

Cahner let out a grunt and turned away from me.

“You’re a teacher?” I asked, moving to take a seat.

Cahner headed to the far end of the room, holding a finger up.

  “Yes and no b
ut my job is to help you understand how you use the vast reach of your skill set and then to report back. I guess I’m technically here to monitor your progress in everything they would like you to be taught.

“You are the only human onboard the SS Everest, at the moment, Evie.”

The smart board across the room was covered in numbers and words written in a strange language, I didn’t understand.

“It’s Iult,” Cahner said with a smile. “It’s the language of the Lyra beings. I think Luke wanted you to learn it for whatever reason, Evie.”

“I’m not sure if I can. I know Luke signed me up for advanced mathematics but I must warn you my memory and my number skills have never been that great.”

He chuckled and dropped his head to look at the papers in front of him. “I think you will be fine, Evie.”

Waiting patiently in my seat, I observed him mumble to himself for a while before taking a seat in front of a sleek computer screen.

“Sorry we are late, Cahner,” a man and a woman said to Cahner as they entered the room finding a seat.

“I do have a job to do here and I can’t do it if you don’t show up on time,” Cahner snapped, running a hand through his bushy hair.

“Is that the human?” the woman whispered to the man, who only nodded keeping his head facing in Cahner’s direction. I returned my gaze ahead to face Cahner.

“Evie, these two here are new agents but you will learn together. Most of the skills I will be teaching you they might already know and vice versa but you will take it all in regardless.” Cahner smirked.
