His grunts of enjoyment emboldened Elle. She twirled her tongue over his left nipple sliding her hand down between Sully’s legs to grasp his hardness. She continued to lick and nip while sliding her hand up and down the length of his penis.

“Keep that up and I’m not going to make it,” Sully said, lifting her face to kiss on the mouth again.

Taking her by the waist, Sully lifted Elle up to straddle him. He took to one breast and then the other sucking the tips into his mouth. Elle moaned grabbing the back of the couch.

“I want you so bad.” Sully’s hoarse declaration made her insides melt. More than anything at the moment, she wanted to make love with him, not just skin-to-skin, but something deeper, harder.

“Give me a sec.” Hating to break the moment, but needing to be safe, Elle slid from the couch. “Don’t move.”

In short time she returned with a condom. “Can I put it on?”

  His lips curved. “Hell yeah.”

It was erotic to cover his length as Sully watched, his eyes never leaving what she did.

Finally she straddled him again and they kissed, lingering as only two lovers could despite the urgent needs their bodies called them to.

Along with each nibble and suckle he slid a finger up and down her center. Elle clung to his shoulders rocking against his hand.

“Oh God!” The sensations hit hard and overwhelming sensations rocked from each limb to pool where he stroked.

Needing more of him, Elle lifted and slowly lowered allowing him to penetrate until filling her so completely, she had to breathe slowly to allow her body to accept the stretching.

He was big, but not so much to be uncomfortable. Quite the opposite, it was too enjoyable for words.

Sully rested his hands on her hips and thrust his upward to meet the downward movements.

Their bodies collided as she lifted and lowered slow at first then faster. Each time he met her half way, the sound of flesh against flesh combining with her exclamations and his deeper moans.

Although her legs quivered from the exertion, Elle couldn’t stop taking him. When her legs threatened to give out, she clutched his shoulders to get leverage to continue on.

Too close to climax, Elle gasped for breath just as Sully took her by the waist and guided her to lay back. He lifted her shaky legs over his shoulders and plunged deeper.

Elle cried out and grasped his shoulders. Sully pulled almost completely out before sinking into her again.

Eyes locked to hers, he continued as she lifted to meet each thrust, their bodies in perfect synchronicity.

Elle cried out his name when he lunged in deep. Soon they could barely keep the pace as both raced toward culmination. The sounds of their lovemaking came together with frantic calls filling the room as they lost all control.

The room spun and her body constricted when an orgasm hit so hard, Elle’s eyes rolled back in her head. For a few seconds everything disappeared except for bright bursts of lights.

Lifting her bottom, Sully held her still and continued to thrust. Finally a tremble shook his body and he let out a horse moan, lowered her legs and fell over her.

They were silent for a while only the voices of the people on the television filling the empty space.

No words were needed. Both knew there was a possibility they’d not be together again.

Elle tried not to cry when he let out a long sigh.

She’d finally found the one and she’d be damned if the bitch Sharon would take him from her.

“God I don’t want to give you up,” Sully whispered into her ear. “This feels too right.”

Elle smiled despite the tightness in her chest. “You’re not getting away from me easily,” she declared kissing his jaw and hoping like hell her words were true.

His soft chuckle made her smile. “I hope you’re right.”

  He didn’t sound convinced.

Moments later, the television still on, she took his hand. “Stay tonight.”

When the got into bed, Sully instantly pulled Elle against his chest, her back pressed to him.

She’d not be able to sleep, every limb and nerve alive with sensations she’s not felt in so long. His hand moved up her hip, the slow sliding of his fingers warm. Elle pushed her bottom backward, nudging him with acknowledgement.

“I want you so much,” Sully’s hoarse whisper ever so erotic. “Let me love you.”

He reached around her and slid his had between her legs, his fingers searching, caressing and spreading her. “Oh!” Elle moaned wishing he’d move faster, but at the same time not wanting to let go of each moment.

Finally, he inserted two fingers into her while caressing her clit with his thumb. “Come for me.”

“Ah.” Elle couldn’t keep her hips from moving forward. Within seconds, she cried out as shaking at the quick release.

When she reached for him, Sully pushed her to her stomach, then lifting her hips, he spread her bottom. “I need another condom.”

She motioned to the nightstand and heard him tear the packaging. Each second that passed seemed to linger until once again he took her hips.

Inch by inch Sully slid in, every single movement sending bursts of heat throughout her body until she couldn’t stop from repeating “ohs” and “ahs”.

His first thrust set the pace. He was not gentle, but exactly what she needed. Fast hard drives expressing the desperation both felt, the need to feel more than apprehension and dread.

  Ten

His horse nickered seeming content to come to a stop. It grazed on the young grasses while Sully looked across the expanse of his land. How many of his ancestors had sat on this very same hill and did the same?

It was Cole land and, as such, he could not imagine anything but the lushness of trees and flowers as far as one could see.

Although his cabin’s construction was well underway, he’d become quite accustomed to staying at the old house his great-great-grandfather, Grayson Cole, had built. It was rustic living, but after spending the week in his modern condo in town, the basic life made him consider what was really most important in life.

Sully expected to hear back from Sharon since leaving her a voice mail. However this day, he’d purposefully left his cell phone behind at the cabin while riding.

This was time to think things through and clear his mind of clutter.

At the moment, he wasn’t sure how he felt about Elle knowing he’d slept with Sharon. A moment of weakness had brought horrible results.

Not only could he have fathered a child, but also end up tied to a woman he had no deep feelings for.

He wasn’t foolish enough to think that because Elle slept with him she was willing to put what happened with Sharon aside. Lovemaking was what both had needed at the time. God how he hoped things would fall into place and they could continue on the path to a relationship.

There was no doubt in Sully’s mind. Elle was the woman he’d been waiting for, the only one who could ever take Diana’s place in his heart.

Now all that was left was to ensure who the child’s father was. If the child was his, he would provide him or her with the best life possible.. He’d been a fool to offer marriage on the spur of the moment. She’d hold him to it. If he didn’t follow through, it would be the first time he’d not keep his word. However, he’d not marry her. It would be a colossal mistake.

When he made a marriage vow, it would be for life. Divorce was not in the Cole vocabulary

Sully tried to imagine a life with Sharon and had to urge the horse forward until galloping across the field back to the cabin.

From the newly built stables, he hurried to the cabin and picked up his cell.

  She’d called.

Her voice was hesitant, as if unsure, which was nothing like Sharon.

“I’m sorry you feel the need to question me. As you know, I never speak untruths. I won’t be insulted by you. No I will not do a DNA test. I am fine with raising your child alone.”

She’d hung up without a goodbye.

“Hey Sully,” Regina called out, as she strolled in with Buddy. “Saw you riding off earlier and had to come and make sure you didn’t fall and break your neck.”

“I’m a better rider than that.”

“Um hmm,” she leaned closer and peered at the phone in his hand. “Something wrong?”

“You can say that. A woman saying she’s pregnant by me.”

“No way. Are you really the father?”

“Good question. I asked for a DNA test.”

He pressed the replay button and let Regina listen to the message. She snatched the phone and pressed a couple buttons.

Before he could react, Regina was speaking. “Sharon, this is Regina, Sully’s cousin. Honey, I hear your feelings are hurt. I need to clarify something to you. If he’s asking for a DNA test, it’s not to insult you. You know how men are, he should have explained more. It’s just that every Cole has two things. A recessive gene for Doracks disease, and a crazy birthmark on our butt. You’ve seen him naked, so I assume you’ve seen it.”

There was a beat of silence as Regina listened.

“Oh yes, well I have it, too. Every single one of us has it. So you see there is no need for any kind of test to make sure the child is a Cole. We come marked. Kind of like an omen or something. But we do need to know if the child is positive for Doracks. They will need to start treatment invitro.” Regina ducked away when he reached for the phone.

After a few uh-huhs and okays, Regina ended the call.

“The baby is not yours. Said she just found out this morning, but was hurt by your request. Probably feels slutty or something.”

“What is Doracks disease?” He followed her out when she walked after Buddy.

  “I made it up.”

“Do you really have the same birthmark as mine?”

“Nope. Only you and my brother have it. Remember I made fun of you guys and pulled your swim trunks down every summer to show my friends?”

“You were annoying as all get out.”

“My being annoying just saved you from having to marry a lying....you know what.”

“True. Thank you, Regina.” He did a side hug and she punched his shoulder.

Family could be great. Although Regina was demanding and strong willed, she was the perfect gal to have in his corner.

Sully let out a breath. “Twice now women save my butt.”

  “Don’t you forget it either.”

  Eleven

Wide eyed and lips downturned Elle’s gaze bore into his when Sully came to her place the following day. “Hi.”

He leaned forward and kissed her. “Hi yourself.”

She motioned for him to enter following him to her kitchen where he placed a bottle of wine on the counter. “Glasses?”

Instead of a reply, Elle crossed her arms. “So? What happened?”

“I texted you. Told you to call me. When you didn’t I figured you were out with your family or something. I fell asleep after Regina and I had pizza for dinner.”

“I didn’t get a text.” She let out a huff. “So?”

When he grinned she attempted to return his smile, but failed. “Sully talk. I’m about to smack you.”

He filled her in on the phone call and Regina’s antics. While he did so, she got a pair of wine glasses from her cabinet and he poured. Sully hugged her close and pressed his cheek to her temple. “Its over. I don’t believe Sharon will try to contact me again. If anything she’s embarrassed and will keep a low profile for a while.”

“Thank God. I was feeling horrible about last night, especially thinking what if you married her. You didn’t say what you planned to do and if you’d married her I would have felt kinda dirty.”

Sully kissed her grateful when she relaxed against him and opened her mouth to his probing tongue. Arms around his neck, the feminine hot body pressed to his so perfect Sully lifted her until she wrapped her legs around his waist.

Cupping her bottom he took a step until she could sit on the counter and slipped his hands under the thin fabric of her t-shirt to palm her breasts.

“Oh.” Elle let out a soft moan when he took a pink tip into his mouth.

  “Whoa Nelly! What’s cooking?”

Sully and Elle jerked apart at the voice and Sully turned to stand in front of Elle so she could pull her shirt down.

Aunt Janet stood in the entryway holding a pot while two plastic grocery bags hung from each arm. “I didn’t see anything.”

Elle peered over his shoulder. “I forgot you were coming over. I--we were just... Sully you remember Aunt Janet,” she finished weakly.

The woman walked over thankfully keeping her gaze above his crotch. “I brought the fixin’s. We’re about to have some spaghetti and meatballs.”

Sully tossed a salad while Elle baked garlic bread. The entire time her aunt Janet talked about an upcoming trip to meet romance writers in Seattle.

Every so often Elle would meet his gaze with a heated look. The message was clear. She expected him to stay after dinner ended.

Although dinner was delicious and Sully proclaimed the spaghetti to be the best he ever tasted, it seemed forever until finally Elle’s aunt shuffled out the door making them promise to come over for breakfast the next day.

“I love her.” Elle leaned on the counter and smiled. “Makes the best dinners ever. And the best thing. I get to keep the leftovers.” She did a little jig while placing two plastic containers into her refrigerator.

Sully could get used to being around Elle and her family. Her life was full, yet not overwhelming. “My mother is a great cook. You’ll love her cooking.”

“Are you saying I’m going to meet your Mama?” She neared and nipped at his bottom lip before pulling him closer for a kiss.

Her bedroom matched her personality. A queen-sized bed with plush white bedding, two light wood night tables and a small dresser the relaxed furnishings. While Elle went into the bathroom, he sat on the bed and looked around. Although the room was simply done, pillows, art and a collection of sparkling bracelets added a feminine touch.

“Sully?” She stood at the doorway in her bra and panties. “Why are you still fully dressed?” Elle neared and pushed his legs apart to stand between and leaned forward to kiss him.

With her between his legs, they played the sensual game of her undressing him while he kissed and caressed her.

When he was finally poised over her, her dazed expression made Sully pause. Hair splayed across the pillows, with kiss-swollen lips parted, Elle was his dream come true.

  Twelve

  Weeks later

“I love it!” Elle turned in a full circle, her arms extended outward. “It’s a perfect place to get away and enjoy nature.”

Sully’s weekend cabin was finally complete and he’d surprised Elle with a visit there after inviting her to a picnic.

Yes, he’d finally planned his first picnic date and everything had gone off without a hitch thanks to Regina’s help.

They’d gone for a short horseback ride and now ended the day at his new cabin.

Her eyes sparkled. “Sully, you’ll spend many happy days here. How could you not?” She went to the large picture window overlooking a shaded area he’d specifically built for entertaining.

Although summers were short in Montana, there was always time to squeeze in a couple family barbeques.

Sully neared and wrapped his arms around her. “Do you think your family would like to come out here sometime?”

Wide eyes met his. “Are you kidding me? They would probably scar the horses and any other local critters for life.” She giggled. “My family, especially Mom would love it.”

“I’m hoping they come out. I think it will be nice to have them here.”

She placed her arms around his neck and brought him down for a deep kiss. “You are the sweetest man. I would have never guessed you to be such a family oriented person.”

  “If inviting your family brin
gs me kisses like these, I’ll invite them every week.” He laughed when Elle pushed him away and shook her head.

“Could you see yourself living here?” The question left his lips and Sully held his breath to see what she’d say.

Elle’s gaze slid to him and then around the living space. “I could, it would be very relaxing.”

“Good,” he replied and turned away before she could see him blush.

Sully’s new cabin was amazing. She’d have to ask him to let her borrow it for a girlfriend’s getaway. It would be perfect. After meeting his cousin Regina, they’d hit it off well, so she’d be included. Elle looked to Sully.

He’d been acting strange all day. It was as if he tested her by asking a question then seeming to ponder once she replied.

In her opinion, at this point she scored a big fat “F”. Whatever he was thinking, she was ahead of him.

If he worried she’d pull a Sharon and force him into marriage, it would not be happening.

“Sully, We can take it slow. Don’t worry about what will happen between us. Lets take it one day at a time. I know after Sharon, you’re probably gun shy. I don’t blame you.”

He listened not speaking, a burrow between his eyebrows.

Elle continued. “I prefer to be upfront about things. So if you have something on your mind, just say it. The way you’re acting all twitchy and shit is making me nervous.”

He moved closer, but did not speak, so she continued.

“I may as well admit it I’m head over heels crazy for you. But if you don’t feel the same, I can deal with it.”

He pulled her against his side. “Things are more than good between us. I’m not twitchy.”

Not able to keep being serious she looked away. “Wanna visit that big bed back there? I want to strip you naked Mr. Cole.”

His lips quivered. “You’re so romantic.”

When she began to unbutton his shirt, he shook his head and serious eyes met hers. “I won’t sleep with you until you agree to something.”
