“You don’t act like you’re a billionaire. Why is that?”

Oliver’s eyes widened for an instant before he spoke. “I may have been born into this money, Jade, but I won’t let that determine who I really am. Yes, I’m a very wealthy businessman, and that comes with certain obligations, but I want to live, as well. My job isn’t easy, and I need a separate life from it. ”

“What type of machines does your company make? It would have to be something big if it involves you having to meet with world leaders. Are you saving the environment or something?” I asked innocently. All of this was my plan to get him to trust me—poor innocent Jade, who knew nothing about the top-secret weapons his company was making.

Oliver let out a deep laugh. “Oh, Jade, I wish I was. Believe me. My company makes weapons, mainly.”

“Weapons?” I gasped. My mouth went slack and I acted shocked. “You mean like guns and rifles?”

“No, we make larger weapons than that, Beautiful,” he said as he swallowed hard. “I should have told you in London, but I didn’t want to overload you with information and scare you away.”

“What kind of weapons do you make, Oliver?” My voice was just a whisper.

“Weapons that are only used for defensive purposes. Every country needs to be able to protect itself and its residents against outside threats. It’s their defensive strategies that stop wars from breaking out most of the time, and my company plays a small part in that.” It was obvious that he was trying to defend himself before he’d even admitted that his company made nuclear weapons.

  “Oliver, stop stalling—just tell me.”

“My company makes the machines that can load and fire nuclear weapons, Jade.”

“Oh.” I sat there staring at him, eyes wide, jaw slack.

“Say something, please? I’ve been trying to find a way to explain this since I arrived the other day. It’s my job, Jade, but it doesn’t define who I am. I have to protect my company, though. I don’t trust anyone else to do it. Some of the information I have would be disastrous in the wrong hands.”

“Give me a second. It’s just a lot to take in. When you said machines, I never thought…”

“I know. I should have explained it better and I’m sorry.” Oliver reached across the table to grab my hand. “I don’t want this to come between us.”

“I have to admit, I hardly know anything about nuclear weapons—just what I learned in school.”

“I’d be happy to explain if that’s what you want.”

“No. I think I’d rather be in the dark about most of it. Like you said—your job doesn’t define you,” I interrupted, taking a sip of my drink. “At least I understand all the meetings with the world leaders now. What do you do, play them against each other to get the highest price?”

Oliver choked on his drink. “No, Jade. Out of the five main countries that deal in nuclear weapons, there are only three I would ever do business with. My company makes weapons strictly for defensive purposes. I worry that if we sold to the wrong country, they would use my weapons as a scare tactic instead.”

“It all sounds incredibly stressful.” I exhaled deeply, playing it up.

“Why else do you think I’ve spent all these years looking for you?” he muttered, reaching over the table for my hand again. “With you, I can let go for a little while. No one has ever relaxed me as much as you have, Beautiful.” He did seem more carefree around me, and I had to admit that he wasn’t the typical CEO of a multi-billion dollar company. I’d met my fair share of those in the last five years as a Seductor, and none of them had made me feel the things he had.

“Oliver, it’s been no time at all since we met. You can’t pin all your hopes on one person.” Why was I warning him about me? I should have been happy with what he was saying—I was doing my job and I was succeeding.

“I know, but no one has ever made me feel the way you do, Jade. I’m even dreading having to leave in the morning.”

I should have been happy with his statement but I wasn’t. Instead, I felt a huge ache in my chest at his confession.

  Chapter Eight

Oliver and I went back to my penthouse after lunch.

Sometimes the best way to answer unspoken questions was to simply feel skin against skin. That was something I had learned even before I became a Seductor.

Being wrapped up in Oliver’s arms after hours of lovemaking seemed like the best answer to me right then. It was the only thing that did make sense.

“You’ll try and come to New York as soon as you can, right?” he murmured, running his hands up and down my bare back.

“I’ll see if I can move a few clients around to fit you in.” I stretched, running my nails across his chest.

“I’m sorry to be so demanding.”

“Oliver, stop. I want to see you again soon, too,” I exhaled, moving to straddle him.

“Mm…this position is bringing back some great memories.” He gently trailed his hands up my body and palmed my breasts, leaving goose bumps in his wake. “If you want to take the lead again, Jade, I’m fine with that.”

“I think I’ll take a rain check, but thanks.”

“Not drunk enough, huh?” Oh, he thought he was so funny.

“No,” I giggled as he stroked my cheek lovingly. “I’m just as spellbound in all of this as you are, you know. I don’t want you to leave tomorrow, and I’m dreading going to Rome next week. All I really want to do is stay right here with you.”

“The world would still turn if we stayed here, I’m sure of it. We could if you really wanted to,” he smoldered, running his fingertips down into my sex. I couldn’t stop myself from rocking against his hand. “That’s it, Beautiful. Feel it.” I threw my head back, groaning as Oliver sat up to capture one of my nipples with his mouth. He twirled his tongue around the hardened peak, pulling it gently with his teeth before using his fingers to penetrate me deeply.

“Ugh…so good…” I yearned, rocking faster against his hand.

“You wait until my dick is back inside you. Then you’ll feel good,” he whispered, pulling a condom out and ripping it open with his teeth. With a teasing grin, he motioned to his length and the condom. “Would you do the honors?”

  “With pleasure,” I giggled.

“After this, I promise we’ll get dinner,” he winked, pushing me down onto his erection.

“Don’t worry,” I moaned, becoming lost in the sensation. “We can have takeout in bed if we have to.” Oliver seemed to like that idea, because he set a fast, wild pace.

We were disturbed an hour later by my intercom being pressed over and over again. Who the hell could that be? I frowned down at Oliver before quickly pulling on some clothes.

“Are you expecting anyone?” he asked, sitting up in bed.

“No,” I muttered, making my way over to the intercom. “Hello?”

“I need to speak with Mario right away. It’s urgent. I found this address in some paperwork he left at my place,” a frantic female voice stated. It had to be Mario’s target from the mission he’d just completed. Great, that was all I needed right then.

“I’m sorry, but Mario doesn’t live here anymore. He hasn’t for the last eight months,” I replied, watching Oliver come over to me with a confused look on his face.

“I’m not leaving until I see for myself. I need to speak to him. That bastard might have cost me my job!”

“Annette, is that you?” I seethed, deciding to play the scorned girlfriend. I could even use Mario as an excuse to Oliver as to why I was always so guarded.

“Who is this?” the voice replied, obviously confused.

“It’s Jade. You know, the woman whose boyfriend you stole! He isn’t here, but if he cost you your job, then I would say karma came back to bite you in the ass! The two of you deserve everything you get!”

“How do I know you’re not hiding him in there? Jade, this is fucking serious. I think he’s done something really bad,” Annette screeched over the interc
om.

I was about to reply when Oliver pulled me out of the way. “I suggest you leave right now before we call the cops. Jade has already informed you that he isn’t here,” Oliver replied sternly, rubbing my back softly in attempt to soothe me.

  “Who the hell is this?”

“That is none of your business, but I suggest you leave right now and look for this Mario elsewhere. He. Is. Not. Here.” I could hear Annette mumble something unintelligible over the intercom before finally speaking.

“Okay, but Jade, if you do hear from him, please…”

“Jade doesn’t owe you any favors, and I think you are out of line to even ask,” Oliver interrupted. “Goodbye.” With that, he ended the conversation.

“Would you care to explain what the hell just happened?” he questioned a moment later, turning and raising an eyebrow at me.

“Mario is an ex…really. It’s nothing,” I smiled nervously, going to my fridge to get some fresh orange juice. “Do you want some juice?”

“It doesn’t seem like nothing to me. How long were the two of you together?” God, the thought of Mario and me actually together made me throw up in my mouth a little.

“Two years,” I exhaled, pouring us both a drink. “He started working at the same company as Annette about a year ago, and well, they had an affair behind my back.” Oliver’s eyes saddened as he watched me. “It’s okay, though. I’m over it. I took control of the rent for this place and kicked him out over eight months ago.”

“Did you love him?” he asked, sitting on one of my kitchen stools.

“I thought I did at the time.” I smiled sadly, shaking my head while trying to be more upbeat. Heartbreak was an easy emotion for me to portray.

“I guess that explains a few things about you,” Oliver mused, watching me closely. “Did Mario ever make you feel the things I can?” A seductive smile spread across his face, and I grinned back as I walked up to him and slid between his legs.

“No one has ever made me feel the things you can,” I purred, running my hands through his hair.

“It’s our last night together for a while, Jade. How about we make the most of it?” I closed my eyes at the feel of Oliver’s hands. He ran them up my legs before grabbing my hips and pulling me closer to him as he crashed his lips against mine. With one kiss, I surrendered.

Our three days together went by way too fast. Oliver was standing by the front door saying goodbye to me, and a small part of me really didn’t want him to go.

“I’ll call you when I land, and please let me know that you’ve arrived safely when you get to Rome next week,” he murmured, running his hands through my hair. “Thank you for an amazing few days.”

“I should be thanking you,” I whispered, grabbing the collar of his white shirt and pulling him to me.

Oliver smiled, leaning down to give me a soft yet passionate kiss. “I’m counting the days until I see you again, Beautiful.” My arms found their way around his neck as our tongues began a slow, sensual dance.

“I’m missing you already,” I breathed against his lips as the kiss broke. With a longing look and one last kiss, he left.

“You’ve done well, Jade,” Sonia commented, flipping through the notes on my findings so far. “I’m assuming you’ll try to gain access to his office in New York first?”

“It’s seems the most logical place for the hard drive to be stored.”

“What about his family home in Macon, Georgia?”

“That would be my next choice, but I think New York will be the easiest to infiltrate. Mr. Kirkham wants me to redesign his office there.”

“Oh, Jade. No wonder you’re number one around here. You’re so ruthless and you do it effortlessly.” I used to think that, but doubt had slowly started to creep into my mind.

“Is that all you need from me, Sonia?” I asked, stretching. I was eager to find Molly; we had a fight to catch in less than three hours.

“I think you’ve covered everything so far. Thank you.” Sonia smiled from behind her desk. “Keep up the good work.” I nodded before getting up to leave.

Molly was lying across her bed when I walked into our shared room. “Are you even packed yet?” I complained.

“Jeez, you scared the shit out of me,” she gasped, holding her chest. “Of course I’ve already packed. I was just waiting for you.”

“Do you have the information file?” I asked, collecting a few items from my closet that I’d forgotten to take to the penthouse.

“Yep. It’s already packed. Are you about ready?”

“Yeah, I just need to pack a few dresses and my thigh highs.”

“I’m excited to be getting out for a few days. Mario has been unbearable this week. Did you hear that his last target has been trying to track him down? He’s on lockdown for a month.” Lockdown wasn’t easy—you couldn’t leave headquarters for any reason—but sometimes with the larger missions there was no other choice. I suspected the same thing would happen to me once I’d completed my mission with Oliver. I didn’t feel sorry for Mario, though; I didn’t like the guy enough for that.

“I know. She came by the penthouse last week.”

“While your target was there?” Molly choked. “What did you do?”

“I used it to my advantage,” I winked, packing the last few things away.

“Here are my girls!” I heard Georgie before I saw her, but I screeched like a schoolgirl and rushed over to hug her when she came into view. It had been almost two months since she’d been back at headquarters. Georgie was a redhead with the most beautiful green eyes I’d ever seen, and her skin was like pure snow. She was absolutely stunning, and my best friend in The Seductors. I wasn’t sure how I would get by in this job without her. We could talk about anything and everything, and often did. She was the only person I trusted with my life.

“Georgie, I am so glad you’re back,” I beamed.

“I heard you two are heading out on a mission together?”

“Yeah. We need to leave soon, but when we get back, you and I can catch up.”

“Sounds good to me,” she winked. “It’s good to see you, Jelly Bean.”

“You’ve been spending too much time with Drew,” I chuckled.

“You know I love that name for you.” She smiled and then reached up to stroke my hair. “Your hair has grown a lot. I wish mine was this silky.”

“You have amazing hair,” I commented, trying to play off her compliment. Georgie knew she was stunning, and if she wanted to talk about soft silky hair…well, she had it, not me.

“As much as I love listening to you two talk about your hair all day, Jade and I have a flight to catch,” Molly interrupted sarcastically.

“Okay, let’s go,” I sighed, grabbing my suitcase while rolling my eyes at Georgie as she smirked back.

“Knock ‘em dead, ladies,” Georgie replied, slapping both Molly’s ass and mine as we walked past her.

“Yay!” Molly giggled as we loaded our bags into the car. “A mini-vacation with Jade.” I had to chuckle. This was anything but a vacation. I was just glad to have some time away from Oliver. When I did see him again, my mind would hopefully be back on the mission instead of thinking about all the wonderful things he could do to me with his hands and tongue.

“You look hot in that dress,” Molly muttered as we were on our way up to the hotel suite where our target was waiting for us. Michael Roswell was a well-known English Politician who was in Rome as part of an environmental conference this week.

Slander campaigns were big business to The Seductors. In recent years, most scandals of a sexual nature had been started by one of us.

“Thanks,” I laughed, running my hands down the thin red fabric. The dress didn’t leave much to the imagination, but Molly and I were supposed to be prostitutes. She looked stunning herself in a tight black leather dress. We were both playing our parts well tonight.

“Are you leading this one, or am I?”

  “I don’t mind either way
,” I shrugged. “I’ve already had a lot of action lately, so if you want to lead, you can.”

“You lucky bitch. What I wouldn’t give to be able to jump up and down on Oliver’s dick. I bet it’s huge, isn’t it?” Molly never was known for her tact, and it was obvious why.

“You’ll never know,” I giggled as we finally arrived at the suite.

After our fake IDs were checked, we were shown in by security. Mr. Roswell was already sitting on the couch waiting for us. Politicians—they were always so eager.

“Good evening, ladies,” he welcomed us. “My, I’ve picked well tonight.”

“Do you want us here or in the bedroom?” Molly asked, dropping her bag on the table. Following suit, I did the same. I would grab my small camera later when Mr. Roswell was somewhat distracted.

“The bedroom, I think,” he grinned, getting up while already starting to unbutton his shirt. He was practically undressed by the time we reached the bedroom. “Okay, you can suck me off.” He motioned to Molly, for which I was extremely grateful. “And you can strip down and I’ll pleasure you,” he commented toward me. His eyes roamed my body darkly and I had to fight back the urge to throw up. Maybe Molly had actually gotten the better deal. We were both quick to obey his orders—after all, we were supposed to be prostitutes.

Molly rid Mr. Roswell of his boxers, pushed him down onto bed, and began to suck him off immediately. His eyes rolled back into his head as she engulfed his length in her mouth while I stripped out of my dress. The moment I began to remove my underwear, though, he reopened them and focused on me. “That’s it, Sexy, bring your hot pussy over to me,” he yearned, fighting against the pleasure Molly was already giving him. I stalked over to him once I was naked and sat on his chest with my legs either side of him. His hands ran over my breasts, grabbing them roughly.

Those were the times I felt dead inside. It numbed the pain of having strangers touch me so intimately. “Let’s see how wet you are, Sexy.” He wasn’t a good-looking guy by any means, but I couldn’t even close my eyes to try and make it more enjoyable because all I saw when I did was Oliver’s face. Mr. Roswell dipped his fingers into my sex, running them up and down my clit. It was nowhere near fast enough, but playing my cover, I groaned and threw my head back to make him think I was enjoying it.
